Punchy Proverbs for the Week

(1) The only problem with the perfect is that there is no problem.

(2) Maintain a good opinion of everyone. That way, you won’t betray your true feelings in public.

(3) Sunglasses block the sun out, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

~ Punchy Proverbs for the Week

#3 was particularly odd to me. It was favored by Symphonist Sepperl (renowned composer in the Punchy Lands), which means it definitely is weird. It greatly confuses this professor. What are your thoughts?

And please, pick a favorite!

My favorite is number 2! I suppose it is a Mr. Magi-type proverb, and I am just being true to my character!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke July 12, 2013 at 14:58

Yes, I thought so too. Definitely a Mr. Magi-type proverb. It’s a good one!

  2. 3 Jackie July 11, 2013 at 19:15

#3 resonates for sure! My take on it is: just because you can’t see something does not mean it does not exist. #1 and #2 are good but they don’t resonate with me as much as #3 does. Why that is I have no idea.

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke July 12, 2013 at 15:01

That’s exactly what I was thinking! Shnodgrate can be quite clever at times.

      Because #3 is a beauty!

  3. 5 L. Marie July 10, 2013 at 16:58

Number 1–definitely!!! Although in my existential crises, number 3.

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 18:39

:) #3 is definitely a wonder! I think it could have so many meanings.

  4. 7 Elina July 10, 2013 at 11:30

I mean I can relate to the topic of first one the best. I think perfect without problems is not possible. And perfect in general questionable… I think not perfect for someone can be perfect… crazy explanation :) But I am sure Proffessor understands :) mmm…does he?

    • 8 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 11:32

He does, absolutely! It makes perfect sense to the professor. I appreciate your thoughts!

      • 9 Elina July 10, 2013 at 11:32

        :D

  5. 10 Elina July 10, 2013 at 09:45

I pick the first one, of course :)

    • 11 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 11:06

      Curios: why of course?

      • 12 Elina July 10, 2013 at 11:09

I can relate to it the best :)

      • 13 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 11:23

        :D I see!

  6. 14 ladycheetah7 July 10, 2013 at 04:45

#3 is the winner. #2 that takes work and some people don’t have a good opinion about themselves let alone anyone else. #1 well being perfect and all it’s difficult for me to see a problem. Lol ;-)

    • 15 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 11:06

Hahaha! I see your points, definitely!

  7. 16 Angeline M July 9, 2013 at 05:33

#3! Definitely wise proverb. You can run, but you can’t hide.

    • 17 Professor VJ Duke July 9, 2013 at 13:36

      Truly!

  8. 18 deanthefish July 8, 2013 at 22:19

    #2 is mine.

    • 19 Professor VJ Duke July 9, 2013 at 14:58

Why? I bet you have a reason!

      • 20 deanthefish July 9, 2013 at 20:51

It is better to regard idiots as really sad cases who can’t help themselves than actual idiots. This prevents the mistake of severing ties with someone who really isn’t an idiot. You might find out later that you were the one that was the idiot.

      • 21 Professor VJ Duke July 10, 2013 at 11:05

        !!!

  9. 22 ScullySpeaks July 8, 2013 at 20:02

    The first one!

    • 23 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2013 at 20:02

      Definitely!

  10. 24 FictionFan July 8, 2013 at 16:28

I pick #1. Being perfect myself, it resonates…

    • 25 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2013 at 19:33

If only Darcy was perfect–twould be a perfect match! But, of course, after the swim in that algae infested pond, crawling with many organisms that are better left unmentioned, poor Mr. Darcy has fallen from his perfect status.

      • 26 FictionFan July 8, 2013 at 21:54

Oh, some men can carry off algae better than others…

      • 27 Professor VJ Duke July 9, 2013 at 13:35

        :)

  11. 28 Susan P July 8, 2013 at 13:07

#2 is SO important – and difficult.

    • 29 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2013 at 13:12

      Absolutely. It’s very difficult.

  12. 30 Brian July 8, 2013 at 12:03

    1. The real problem there, I think, is boredom.

    2. Easier said than done!

    3. How can we really know the universe exists outside of our minds?

    • 31 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2013 at 13:11

Brian, I always appreciate your perspective!

  13. 32 Doug Thomas July 8, 2013 at 11:23

I like the first one best. Perfection IS the problem! Ha!

    • 33 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2013 at 11:24

I know. It definitely makes one think…
