Awesome! I love the music, and I am happy to hear that the Bishop has acquired a La-Z-Boy!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke October 9, 2013 at 12:47

Thank you! :) I’ll tell Sepperl. Yes, the Bishop likes his chair, I think.

  2. 3 L. Marie October 5, 2013 at 20:10

How lovely to return from my trip to find this great start to The Misly Man!!! Manly Man as Val-Johnny–Hilarious!!!
And for those who aren’t getting sound on YouTube as I wasn’t, push the Youtube volume bar (bottom left) over to the right. For some reason, all of my YouTube videos were reset to zero volume.

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 22:39

:D Awesome! Yes, I think YouTube is acting funny! The 2nd one will hopefully be posted Friday.

  3. 5 Simply Skeptical October 5, 2013 at 11:22

This is TOO funny… J Val J and Fats Henry dialogue in the beginning… LOL! :-)
Looking forward to Part II & III. A lot of creativity here; not to mention the phenomenal music! Award Nominations anyone?!?

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 17:03

Many thanks! Glad you liked that!

      Who would you award?

      • 7 Simply Skeptical October 5, 2013 at 18:16

The Creative Mastermind behind this who else? And don’t ask who is that. Don’t play innocent with me Professor! ;-)

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 19:11

You are too kind! The professor isn’t that creative. It’s real, you know.

      • 9 Simply Skeptical October 5, 2013 at 23:54

Oh yes, how silly of me. I forgot the reality of the situation – forgive pleeease!!

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke October 6, 2013 at 00:04

        No problem!

  4. 11 Hazy October 5, 2013 at 05:43

La-Z-Boy, nice! Quite comfy. I want one too.

The money was gone… Oh poop. Best line.

Beware of Jabear, Val-johnny! He’s comin’ to get ya! I wonder what Val-johnny will do with all the silver and gold coins.

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:58

      And the professor wants one!

Ah, you’ll see! I’m sure it will make Punchyish sense.

  5. 13 ladycheetah7 October 5, 2013 at 00:17

Now I definitely want to see the movie after listening to this. The best line was by Bishop to Val Johnny, “You can stay for half an hour. Classic! Btw Jaeber is mean beating up on people. A bit over zealous if you ask me…lol

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:53

Ah! Well, if you see the movie, let me know what you thinketh. I don’t think Val-Johnny understood what the Bishop was trying to tell him.
      Very over zealous–but just wait!

      • 15 ladycheetah7 October 5, 2013 at 16:59

        Hmmmm. Will stay tuned. O:-)

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 17:06

        I hope you don’t get scared! ;)

    • 17 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 20:49

The question, Ladycheetah, is which movie will you watch. There are two or three movie versions of the story.

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 22:40

Very true, Susan. The professor has seen bits of the oldest one…from the 30’s? And the newest one that’s not a musical. Never did see the musical.

      • 19 ladycheetah7 October 5, 2013 at 23:04

Didn’t know there were about three versions. I was thinking about renting the most recent play version with Russell Crowe.

      • 20 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 23:09

It’s a good version if you like musicals.

      • 21 ladycheetah7 October 5, 2013 at 23:12

Great to know. I heard mixed reviews and wasn’t sure. Will soon rent from Redbox. Thanks!

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 23:16

But be warned: It’s not as good as the Punchy one. ;)

      • 23 ladycheetah7 October 5, 2013 at 23:23

        :-)
I will be sure to keep that in mind.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 23:42

  6. 25 The Dancing Rider October 4, 2013 at 20:49

The title of Part One alone had me chuckling. Then “J Val-Johnny”! Who is *nothing* like “Valjean”! Yet, similar in some respects I must admit. Oh, and the Jabear voice …that familiar voice. And up to the same mischief, what with the ending. That ending voice just slayed me!

    Loved the music.

    (Btw, sound/vid worked fine here)

    • 26 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:25

Awesome! The professor is glad you enjoyed it. Oh yes, Salami is a bit chilling, I think. And he was scary at the end, too, but Valjohnny can take him!!

Thank you! Sepperl really did awesome.

      (Awesome!)

  7. 27 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 4, 2013 at 19:56

I agree with the others about the music. Loved it. Great story, too.

    • 28 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:17

Many thanks! Do you have a favorite Punchy “actor”?

      • 29 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 4, 2013 at 23:27

Val-Johnny’s vocabulary makes me giggle. I’m wondering what he’s up to. I love the Mayor’s accent, I’ve enjoyed a great accent. I like that the Mayor is kinda naughty.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:35

I know! It is strange. Yes, his voice actor did exceptional. But, sadly, you know the Mayor died.

      • 31 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 5, 2013 at 00:01

Yes, I gathered that. Too bad. I’m curious about the Bishop, too. Although, I lack the “I totally, undestand what you’re up too.” to ask my questions. I fear I will look and sound foolish.

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 00:15

Oh good. I was worried that it was too unclear. Don’t worry about it! The professor is foolish all the time. Ask any and every question!

      • 33 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 5, 2013 at 00:57

Okay, I’m not to embarressed to ask why the Bishop and Ben didn’t just move the coins to a safer place? Is it possible they wanted Val-J to take the coins?

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:57

That’s a very good question. Personally, I would assume the Bishop didn’t intend on having visitors. Besides, neither of the parties in question seem overwhelmingly bright, do they?

      • 35 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 5, 2013 at 17:01

No none of them bright, but there is a plan. Right?

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 17:07

        Well, Val-Johnny has one, definitely.

      • 37 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 5, 2013 at 17:11

Yes. Val-Johnny is definitely up to something.

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 19:07

        Yes, he is.

  8. 39 sonya solomonovich October 4, 2013 at 18:50

I always liked the story of les miz but I found the book very long and ponderous at times. I believe you’ve found the perfect medium for telling this tale! I also enjoyed the music and its variation on the usual punchy theme.

    • 40 deanthefish October 4, 2013 at 19:29

I’ve actually been waiting for someone to recognize the “punchy theme.” :)

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:17

Really wonderful with the music, Sepperl. It makes the professor really proud.

      • 42 sonya solomonovich October 5, 2013 at 00:18

Cool! I’m glad I was the first :)

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:53

It is very professorish of you. ;)

      • 44 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 20:52

The music is outstanding. It enhances without overwhelming. I hear it, but it’s part of the plot, actually.

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 22:40

        That’s awesome!

    • 46 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:14

Yes, so did this professor.Thank you! It was definitely very Punchyish. Do you have a favorite Punchy “actor”?

      • 47 sonya solomonovich October 5, 2013 at 00:20

Well, I always enjoy both Manly Man and Daddy Salami. I believe they both excelled in their roles in les miz. Perhaps they should receive a punchy academy award? :)

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:54

Haha! Well, you must see the next parts before you decide, you know…

      • 49 sonya solomonovich October 5, 2013 at 23:07

Looking forward to it! But who will play the roles of Cosette and Mme Tenardier? There seems to be a shortage of females in the Punchy Lands….

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 23:16

Well, Cosette is in it, but Mme Tenardier isn’t.

  9. 51 Anja October 4, 2013 at 17:30

Oh my……do you not know of my obsessive love with les mis?!?!?! *faints*

    • 52 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:14

Really? How was the Punchy version?

      • 53 Anja October 4, 2013 at 23:44

Oh I really enjoyed the Punchy version although I would love to see (wait anxiously) for some big song moments….yes? PLEASE

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:45

        You mean like a musical?

      • 55 Anja October 4, 2013 at 23:45

        ummmmm well….a little yes…please….mhmmmm…..OMG YES

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:46

A little? Well, MM does sing a bit at the end…

      • 57 Anja October 4, 2013 at 23:47

Les Mis is just sooooo rich with wonderful scenes……..I will patiently see what you come up with…..(songs please)

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 00:13

I’ll try. But Mic…I’m not sure what he’ll do.

      • 59 Anja October 5, 2013 at 00:14

        :( but ….pleeeeeeease

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 00:16

        I’ll try, dadblameit!

      • 61 Anja October 5, 2013 at 00:16

        You will SUCCEED

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:52

        Thank you.

      • 63 Anja October 5, 2013 at 17:41

        Welcome :)

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 19:08

        :D

  10. 65 Jackie October 4, 2013 at 16:03

BRAVO! Looking forward to part 2 if there is one. And if not, no doubt there will be something else just as punchalicious to entertain us. 8-)

    • 66 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 16:58

:D  There is actually a part 2 and 3! But they get scary!

      • 67 Jackie October 4, 2013 at 17:11

Cool! Scary can be punchalicious too!

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:13

        That’s true!!!

      • 69 Jackie October 5, 2013 at 00:01

        8-)

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 00:15

        double

      • 71 Jackie October 5, 2013 at 00:17

I hope you have a great weekend, Professor! Take care and stay well. 8-)

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:52

Thank you! And you too!

      • 73 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 20:53

Will they be “where is my teddy bear” scary?

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 22:41

        Yes–especially for the professor!

  11. 75 technophile9 October 4, 2013 at 15:52

Ah, this was great! And I agree, the music was top notch. Looking forward to Part 2!

    • 76 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 16:58

Thank you many! I’ll tell Sepperl. :) Do you think Part 2 should be posted this Friday, or should it be another video?

  12. 77 Susan P October 4, 2013 at 14:26

“honey butt” “poop” laughing myself silly.

    • 78 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 14:37

 That’s MM and Barkoush for you!

      • 79 Susan P October 4, 2013 at 20:33

        The voices…

What a lot of work you put into this PL. I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.

I hope that the nasty landlord makes an appearance.

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:23

Susan, that comment means more to this professor than you know. Your enjoyment makes my enjoyment complete. I really do hope that you like it. Thank you. ;)

Oh yes, he comes into it. And he’s spooky!

      • 81 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 06:31

Oh, Professor, I do love the PL. It is engaging and fun. I can lean rather heavily into being overly serious, and the PL is the antidote.

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 17:00

:D That makes the professor feel so good!Thank you. Is there anything you’d like to see in the PL? Anything written about certain characters, a book ripping?

      • 83 Susan P October 6, 2013 at 00:14

I have some thoughts. Let me organize them and I’ll tell you what came to mind.

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke October 6, 2013 at 01:57

        Okay! :D

      • 85 Susan P October 5, 2013 at 20:46

I have made a note to think about this. If/when something comes to mind, I will let you know my thoughts. Thank you.

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 22:41

Absolutely and it’s my pleasure. :)

  13. 87 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 14:04

 Ooh! Very dramatic!! How manly of Val-Johnny to be able to jump over that wall – almost heroic…and Jabear’s wicked chuckle was on top form! Though I think he’s got his work cut out this time… and was that him being whipped at the end??

Great music as always! I can’t wait for episode 2…

    • 88 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 14:05

PS I had the same problem as sknicholls at first – is the sound set to mute, perhaps?

      • 89 Susan P October 4, 2013 at 14:24

All of the videos I’ve watched this morning had it muted.

      • 90 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 15:02

        Very odd!

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 16:52

        No, I’m quite normal.

      • 92 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 19:22

        Who told you that?

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:17

        Well, it’s a common truth.

      • 94 Susan P October 4, 2013 at 16:58

Yes, it was. If it were only in the PL, I wouldn’t be surprised or consider it odd, but the first place I found it muted was on a youtube video.

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 14:34

Yes, I do believe good YouTube is having some difficulties. Had the dadblamest time uploading the thing.

    • 96 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 14:36

  No, not whipped. I’m afraid that Jabear actually shot the Mayor at the end. Mic wanted to keep the shots more cartoonish so as not to scare anyone.

Many thanks! Yes, I’m not sure when it will be posted, though.

      • 97 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 15:01

Oh, I thought maybe the Mayor had realised that Jabear had mysteriously disposed of his wife, and had taken punishment into his own hands. Aah, yes…Mic! Of course!

Soon, I hope! Can’t wait to see if the old sausage still manages to chuckle while crawling through the sewers…

This may have the unfortunate consequence of making me actually want to read the book.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 16:52

Mr. Magi doesn’t believe that that woman was DS’s wife, remember. (No one cares about the woman.) Funny name, isn’t it?

Well, there is a scene with that, interestingly enough.

Really? Inspired from a Punchy skit! That’s a bravo.

      • 99 FictionFan October 4, 2013 at 19:22

I thought Mr Magi was pretty evasive about the subject – in fact, I couldn’t help but wonder if he was part of the conspiracy, even if he does remind me of my dear Professor who would never be involved in such shady goings-on. (Everybody cares about her…except you…and the Punchies.) Very funny, indeed! In fact, one could almost say mysterious…

Didn’t you tell me my Schwarzy would be in it? (The story, I mean…not the sewer.)

The problem is that, if I do read it, I’m sure every time the baddie speaks, I’ll hear a little chuckle inside my head…

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 23:17

Mr. Magi is upright. No things shady for him, I assure you. The professor wouldn’t dream of being wicked either.

(I wonder why FEF cares about her…)

Professorish you mean, not mysterious. Everything is professorish around here, I feel.

        No, Zez is.

Isn’t that a good thing? Punchy domination, it should be termed! I will always call Jean Valjean Johnny Val-Johnny–and I can’t help it.

      • 101 FictionFan October 5, 2013 at 00:26

But since I know the Professor is wicked (sometimes very wicked indeed!) then that makes me wonder if Mr Magi couldn’t be wicked too…

I just feel that when a gang of men get together to cover up the disappearance of one of their wives, someone ought to care!

Well, I certainly think Mic is probably very professorish and vice versa…

Ah, that’s right! Yay! (Though I miss Schwarzy.)

        And yet you think you’re normal… ;)

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 16:56

When is the professor wicked? I can’t remember any examples. You are spewing dadblamery, I tell you. Mr. Magi and I are as far apart as Darby and MM2!

FEF, a lot of…murders occur quite frequently in the PL…

        He’d be insulted, you know…

Yes, I’m very normal. In fact, I’m a normal professor thrown into a very un-normal world–land.

      • 103 FictionFan October 5, 2013 at 18:12

Tchah! May I remind you that only yesterday you were trying to cause trouble between FF and BigSister? And what about the time you tried to poison me with Ruber’s lemonade? Very wicked…

Hmm…MM2 as Darby…yes, I quite like that idea! He’d have to dye his hair and wear coloured lenses of course…

But generally speaking, the people come back to life…

Would you? Oh, sorry…of course I mean, would he?

        Exceptional, surely? Normal is so…normal.

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke October 5, 2013 at 19:11

Oh, that’s not being wicked. And I was merely observing. The professor is good at observing. I only did that because you threatened to kill me on at least two occasions now. The professor would never kill FEF.

I thought you preferred blonde to brown?

Yes, that is true. Mostly true, anyway. There are exceptions.

I’m glad you think the professor is capable of so much.

No. The professor is quite common.

  14. 105 sknicholls October 4, 2013 at 13:59

Their plight reminds me of the old traveling salesman jokes we used to hear. LOL. I kind of like val Johnny too.

    • 106 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 14:06

Haha! Val-Johnny is definitely not like Valjean, is he?

  15. 107 sknicholls October 4, 2013 at 13:51

There it goes…silly me had it muted.

    • 108 Professor VJ Duke October 4, 2013 at 14:06

The professor does that all the time to himself. It’s dadblamery!

  16. 109 sknicholls October 4, 2013 at 13:50

I don’t know why…I checked my computer and the video, but I am not getting the sound with this…will keep trying.
