D’you know, it’s just as much fun one year on! I still love Daniel’s ‘Oh, my!’ And I’d forgotten how scary my Schwarzy can be. Doesn’t Kirk’s voice sound awfully familiar though…?

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2014 at 17:29

*laughs* Well, many thanks! See? Schwarz isn’t all sweetness. Kirk…uhh…who’s he sound like?

      • 3 FictionFan November 1, 2014 at 20:48

He’d be sweet to me though. Anyway those guys deserved it!

Oddly, he sounds just like Shnoddy…

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 00:00

But are you sure? You can’t be sure. Of course, if you gave him a sucker he would be.

Hmm…I don’t like the things you’ve been insinuating.

      • 5 FictionFan November 3, 2014 at 18:23

Of course he would! Why wouldn’t he, huh?

        *chuckles wickedly*

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:10

        Because he’s…you ask hard questions.

      • 7 FictionFan November 3, 2014 at 23:54

Not too hard for the slippery Professor though!

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:28

But sometime you manage to trap me, you know.

      • 9 FictionFan November 4, 2014 at 17:04

        *smiles proudly*

  2. 10 sonya solomonovich November 1, 2013 at 06:07

Wow, quite an unexpected twist there! Happy Halloween, professor :)

    • 11 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:25

Yes, you too! Schwarz is a surprising little beast. It took some convincing to get him to play the part.

  3. 12 L. Marie October 31, 2013 at 22:27

    Chicky-Woot-Woot! That was awesome!!!!

    • 13 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 23:34

      Thank you!!! Was it scary?

      • 14 L. Marie November 1, 2013 at 00:43

I love a haunted house story! They’re always scary! Love the flashing lights and blood read lettering. Great sound effects and music. Very effective!

      • 15 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:22

Thanks bunches! And Punchyish. Many thanks for watching. Hope it was scary!

  4. 16 Anja October 31, 2013 at 22:04

    Ha…absolutely LOVE it

    • 17 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:24

:D Thank you! Was it scary a bit? (Definitely unromantic.)

      • 18 Anja October 31, 2013 at 22:28

I am not one to gauge scariness because I am a big wimp. I did love it and yes it was unromantic. Lol

      • 19 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 23:35

        Yes! Victory, I think.

      • 20 Anja November 1, 2013 at 01:36

Someone just called me cynical on one of my posts…..what have you DONE

      • 21 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:23

Who was the perpetrator? You think I did it to you?

      • 22 Anja November 1, 2013 at 16:13

It was a friend if mine responding to my bird in love with koi post. Called me cynical?!?! I’ve never been called such a word before. :(
I am not saying you did it to me but I think you have been influencing me. Is it subliminal?

      • 23 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 18:44

That’s a great descriptive word! You should be proud, or you should beat the person.

The professor is very influential. Did you know that he’s been called deceptively clever (and sweet)?

      • 24 Anja November 1, 2013 at 18:51

I think I should beat the person if I was of a violent nature….but I am not.

Ummm I wouldn’t call you deceptively clever. Why deceptively? You will accept sweet but not romantic?

      • 25 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 19:12

You should learn how to be more violent like the professor. (It’s romantic.)

        Sweet=wickedness.

      • 26 Anja November 1, 2013 at 19:14

Hmmm nope it would take a lot for me to be violent. Romantic is not violent unless defending the one you love. Ha

Sweet does not = wickedness. Please explain how it would

      • 27 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 19:16

In the professor’s case it does, I fear.

      • 28 Anja November 1, 2013 at 19:18

Awww well I wouldn’t call you wickedly sweet

      • 29 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 21:44

What would you call the professor?

      • 30 Anja November 1, 2013 at 22:02

Ummm, clever (not deceitfully), talented, quick wit, imaginative, seems to come across as intelligent, inquisitive, friendly, and of course romantic.

      • 31 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:19

Some of those were nice… But not romantic!!! (How can a hunter of giant worms be romantic?)

      • 32 Anja November 2, 2013 at 17:22

Some? All were nice and you can be of a romantic nature and hunt giant worms. Why not?

      • 33 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:27

Because the worms wouldn’t be scared of a romantic person.

      • 34 Anja November 2, 2013 at 17:42

        That is just crazy talk

      • 35 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:54

        Fine then!

      • 36 Anja November 2, 2013 at 17:56

        You surrendered

      • 37 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 18:08

But the professor lives to fight another day.

      • 38 Anja November 2, 2013 at 19:22

        I am happy about that.

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 22:33

        :D

  5. 40 Jackie October 31, 2013 at 20:40

That was frightfully punchalicious! Happy Halloween!

    • 41 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:23

Many thanks! It was punchalicious! Happy Halloween to you too, dear!

  6. 42 The Dancing Rider October 31, 2013 at 20:32

Great Halloween event. Loved the music! And the sound effects!

Oh God, Salami’s ehco laugh. Creepy…

It seems while Salami was … absent … for a while, there was plenty of mayhem. But then Salami said he’d been there all along. Very scary……

    • 43 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:23

      Thanks many times!

I thought about you when I heard that! IT was creepy!!!

Would you fear Schwarz or DS more?

      • 44 The Dancing Rider November 1, 2013 at 13:22

Schwarz…without a doubt. He is downright scary, Professor.

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:26

Very interesting! DS is bound to get jealous.

      • 46 The Dancing Rider November 1, 2013 at 21:19

Oh, Salami would be jealous, wouldn’t he! Perhaps he could stir the pot some more, once given that info….

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 21:47

Haha! Yes, he’ll probably do something dastardly!

  7. 48 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister October 31, 2013 at 19:25

I knew better than to watch this video. A voice in my head went “Aud, don’t watch it skip it.” Way to scare me! I shouldn’t have watched this alone. The sound effects were frightening!

I missed hearing the Punchy music today. Was hoping for a bit of it.

    Happy Halloween, Professor!

    • 49 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:22

Did it really spook you? It was Punchyish too, you must admit. The sound effects took doing–tell you what! Well, glad you…got spooked, I guess. I suppose that was its job. Sorry too. :)

Wasn’t there a bit of music in the skit? (Olmes tomorrow.)

      Happy to you too!

      • 50 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 03:29

Well…yes. I am far better equiped for daisies and rainbows.

I could tell care had been taken with the sound effects. I really enjoyed the stormy sounds. Peaceful and then WHAMO!

My speakers were really good and the 32′ monitor really allowed for me to jump right out of my skin. So glad I didn’t just watch it on my phone. ;)

Yes, there were moments I jumped. What in the world was happening…I think I blocked it all out towards the end.

You’re not sorry. The plan was to scare the PLF.

        No, not really. :( Olmes… :)

      • 51 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:25

So you had a good experience then! Your equipment for watching was perfect. :D It was a horror story, you know… (The professor laughs when he watches it.)

You mean, what did Schwarz do?

        :D Maybe…

Horror music is more effects, I suppose.

      • 52 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 15:31

I had an experience, let’s just leave it at that. :} Of course you would laugh. Nothing seems to scare the professor.

        Maybe…more like, most definately!

Yes, which were very good, BTW. :)

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:34

Many apologies! The professor is quite sorry. I’ll yell at Mic. I told him to keep the script not too scary, dadblameit!

Oh no, the professor is scared by giant worms at times.

How could you think that the professor would purposely scare the PF!

      • 54 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 19:15

No, don’t yell at Mic. It isn’t his fault that I prefer happiness.

Giant worms, I saw one of those once..let me see if I can find the picture. I’ll tweet it. Yuck.

Um, well because you enjoy seeing us all squirm. Duh.

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 19:16

Well, the Christmas show will be happy.

Oh yes, please do! Did you know the professor hunts giant worms? (FEF will tell you all about it.)

That would be cruel of me.

      • 56 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 19:29

Hunts them? The professor needs to get out more. Maybe take up something a little less slimey…say bird watching.

Wicked, cruel, sweet, professorish…all one in the same, right?

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 21:44

Bird watching? A warrior wouldn’t do that, would he?

        I think so. Isn’t it?

      • 58 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 21:51

        A warrior! Really?

Well, I suppose it would depend on the bird he was watching now wouldn’t it.

I’ve never thought wicked and sweet were ever the same. I wonder how it is that you do..

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:16

Yes, of course! One of the most powerful. :D

        Like that mean eagle…

        It’s Punchyish, you see…

      • 60 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 19:29

Oh and Christmas, I don’t believe you.

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 21:44

        Why not???

      • 62 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 1, 2013 at 21:52

Because you think wicked and sweet mean the same thing. And I don’t trust you after two days of scary videos, mostly that’s it..!

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:16

Well, the Christmas thing isn’t going to be sweet; it’s going to be lovable.

      • 64 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 2, 2013 at 17:25

Oh my goodness… a new synonym?

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:28

It make Punchy sense, doesn’t it?

      • 66 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 2, 2013 at 17:34

Yes. I suppose it does. Punchy, I must remember I’m visiting an alternitive universe. Well kinda…

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:53

It is! I think it is, at least.

  8. 68 Susan P October 31, 2013 at 18:10

Ooooowow~! Spooky indeed. Oh dear. What happened to all of them?

    Ohdearwhathappened?

    • 69 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:17

Punchyish too. Did it give you the willies? Who do you mean? Ruber and Salami? Or the others that disappeared?

I like that word, you know!

      • 70 Susan P November 1, 2013 at 01:19

It gave me the Wilhelminas. It was well executed – perhaps not a good word choice….

I felt like a LOT of work went into it – and maybe a lot of fun as well.

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:23

         Executed… Inspired choice!

A LOT of fun, for sure. :D

  9. 72 FictionFan October 31, 2013 at 15:15

Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!! Terrifying!! Even Tuppence shrieked!!! My Schwarzy!! Oh, no!!

Brilliant, Prof! Your best yet! I loved when the terrifying phone call happened and Daniel’s response was ‘Oh, my!’ – if ever there was a time for some proper cussing that had to be it! And DS’s chuckling reached new heights of evilness…

Fretful porpentine rating:

    • 73 FictionFan October 31, 2013 at 15:31

And the music and sound-effects are fabulous!!!

      • 74 deanthefish October 31, 2013 at 15:57

:D The fish stayed up at late hours in order to meet the deadline…

      • 75 FictionFan October 31, 2013 at 16:48

Well worth the effort! You deserve a special treat – maybe the Professor could catch you a nice worm… :D

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:22

        Hmm…maybe I could send Mr. Fish a tassie devil…

    • 77 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:22

Goodness! If Tuppence was scared, it must’ve been a horror horrible! Hmm…

Did Schwarzy surprise you a bit?

Thanks, FEF! That means a lot. (Yes, Danny could have said, ‘dadblameit,’ I think.) It was echoing.

:D The professor is so honored! I got a Fretful porpentine rating! :D :D (And it looks to be a good one!)

Will you be able to sleep tonight?

      • 78 FictionFan October 31, 2013 at 18:48

It was – horrifyingly horrendously horribly horrid!!

He did…but then I’ve always thought you understimated my Schwarzy – he has hidden depths. My friends in the Gnome Gathering have unanimously elected him as an honorary member.

The sound quality really was great…as were the flashes of light!

Not just any old FP rating – higher than Poe! (And he didn’t get a single chuckly… ;) )

I don’t know if I will – I’ll listen again after dark with the lights out…it’ll be your fault if I don’t survive the night…

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:19

 I need to remember this. That statement would work so well, I think–in certain situations.

Before the professor? How crude. How rude. Oh dear. I’m starting to sounds like Mr. R.

        Thanks!

Now the professor is honored! All horror has to a few chucklies!

You’re gnome side will protect you. I do hope it gives you the scare you’ve been seeking.

      • 80 FictionFan November 1, 2013 at 14:33

Well, the 3 a.m. listen in the dark was truly frightening! I may have to have an afternoon nap today…

Oh no, I know I’ve forgiven dear Mr Regalquite, but please don’t start sounding like him, C-W-W! Take my Schwarzy as your role model – then you might get to be an honorary gnome one day too.

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 15:31

I hope Tuppence was close by! Well, the Christmas special will be very jolly–as jolly as the PL can get. :D

The professor shall try not to! (I really can’t stand him.) That would be nice.

Did you know, I’m thinking about handing out offices in the PL?

      • 82 FictionFan November 1, 2013 at 16:41

        Can’t wait! :D

What do you mean – handing out offices?

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke November 1, 2013 at 18:48

Well, the PF might start getting titles… The professor is still working it out.

      • 84 FictionFan November 1, 2013 at 22:34

As SEP of the PFC and soon to be Queen of Punchy Scotland, I think titles are neat (there, an Americanised turn of phrase, just for you… ;) )

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:21

Really? What would you normally say? (FEF did give the professor the idea, actually. Very creative, you are!)

      • 86 FictionFan November 2, 2013 at 19:14

        Braw! ;)

No, you can’t persuade me I’m creative…though it’s sweet of you to try! (I hope you won’t strip me of my SEP of the PFC title though…I’d have to set up an alternative fan-club if you do – perhaps become the Self-Appointed Chairwoman of the Symphonist Sepperl Fan Club instead…)

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 22:32

Interesting. So, I think FEF’s book reviews are really braw. Is that right?

One can’t write book reviews like you and not be creative. (The professor wouldn’t dream of ripping your titles from you!)

      • 88 FictionFan November 3, 2013 at 01:41

Pure braw would be (marginally) more authentic – or a Glaswegian might describe the Hallowe’en vid, for example, as ‘pure, dead brilliant, by the way’.

Thank you, kind C-W-W! (And thank you! The gnomes will be relieved…)

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2013 at 14:06

Oh dear. The professor would feel quite lost in Scotland, I fear. I would make a fool of myself for sure.

  10. 90 Painting Pundit October 31, 2013 at 14:30

    Very Halloween!! Who survived?

    • 91 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:15

You mean, did Daddy Salami and Ruber survive, or did Schwarz kill them?

      • 92 Painting Pundit October 31, 2013 at 17:35

Both?? Did he kill them or did they survive?

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:13

I’m not sure. I think it could have went either way. DS is a hard opponent, wouldn’t you agree?

  11. 94 technophile9 October 31, 2013 at 14:21

    Nice and creepy…

    • 95 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:15

      Punchyish?

      • 96 technophile9 October 31, 2013 at 17:15

        Of course. :)

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:23

        Wasn’t Schwarz a surprise?

  12. 98 Hazy October 31, 2013 at 14:13

Very effective they are, the effects! If I didn’t have a desk lamp on, I would’ve been very frightened (being the jumpy scaredy cat that I am)

The creepiest part for me was the part with the musicbox playing and the whispering. *shudder*

    “It’s coming for us… It’s coming for you… It’s here.” Haha

It was very halloweeny and Punchyish indeed! Good job!

    • 99 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:15

Haha, thanks! I’m sure Weatherly wasn’t frightened, though. (The professor would have to keep a light on too!)

That part’s jumpy, I know! The music box is dadblame scary.

      Frankie naturally eerie, I think.

      Thanks so much!

      • 100 Hazy November 2, 2013 at 13:18

You’re right, Weatherly wasn’t scared. He didn’t even bat an eye!

        Dadblame scary indeed!

      • 101 Professor VJ Duke November 2, 2013 at 17:22

        Haha!

(The professor thought it a bit humorous. So would you after listening to it a million times.)

  13. 102 sknicholls October 31, 2013 at 14:12

Let us hope this was just a nightmare. Frightening.

    • 103 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:13

Was it really scary? Wasn’t it Punchyish?

      • 104 sknicholls October 31, 2013 at 17:14

        Both :)

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:23

Interesting. Did Schwarz surprise you at all?

  14. 106 ladycheetah7 October 31, 2013 at 13:56

Very fun to listen to. I can’t turn off the lights in the job but many took the day off so that was an added special effect. Surprisingly, Salami wasn’t the one creating chaos.
The character Daniel is so funny. He makes me laugh, especially when he played King Arthur.

    • 107 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 17:12

Awesome! I love your ripping comments.

I know, he wasn’t! (See? Salami can be sweet.)

It’s his voice, I think. Squeaky, right?

      • 108 ladycheetah7 October 31, 2013 at 17:35

Squeaky? Not quite. Can’t put my finger on it…

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke October 31, 2013 at 22:13

Oh well. Let me know if you ever can.

Say something...anything...O Punchy Family!
