Section A. Punchy Proverbs:

(1) Some investments take a long time to pay; they’re the ones that are worth the most.

(2) The majority of humanity’s problems are self-inflicted.

(3) Contentment is useless, since it’s the sure sign that something dastardly is about to happen.

““““““““““““

Section B. Something you should know about the professor:

The professor is unromantic, despite what the critics say.

And

The professor has mastered the art of frowning while wearing a top hat.

““““““““““““

Section C. What the PL’ers have to say:

Everything’s always clear inside my mind, it just comes out muddled! ~ J. T. Magi

““““““““““““

Section D. Breaking News:

Daddy Salami’s Daycare suddenly–and unexpectedly–closed after all the children enrolled, disappeared.

““““““““““““

Section E. Featured Story: The World Court
by J. Freedwoppen

A conference was held this past week about the World Court.

“It’s purpose,” Mr. Magi, a strong proponent of the World Court, explained, “is to make the world a safer place. People just aren’t responsible on their own.”

Fats Henry, who lives on Fat Man Island, disagreed.

“You can’t control the people. Freedom is important. What makes the proponents of the court thingy think they now how to better care for us than we do? It’s ridiculous!”

“It has nothing to do with freedom,” Mr. Magi said.

The tension is high, and the conference is expected to continue this week.

What do you think, PLF? Who is right?

““““““““““““
Section F. From the professorish mind:

Question: Why’s it so dadblame hard picking out tunes?

Answer: Because there’s so dadblame many!

““““““““““““`

Dagnabit…I wait until eventide to respond and there are 130 responses already to your post. I like proverb #1 the other two are too negative; that Daddy Salami! Up to something with those poor little buggers. And Fats Henry is definitely right. Let’s see, what’s left…oh the top hat and the frown thing…I guess if you smiled with a top hat on you might look like Gene Kelly; do you tap dance?

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:10

Isn’t it fun responding in eventide? The professor should try this. But you must admit proverb 2 is much better than 1…

Well, I’ve heard that Aud rescued the kids from DS…so, all’s good.

      He is right!

Goodness no! The professor couldn’t dance to save his life. If he did dance, you’d laugh him to scorn. Wasn’t Fred Astaire better than Kelly?

  2. 3 Jennifer November 13, 2013 at 01:16

All the proverbs rock!! No clear winnerthere, we are our own worst enemies. And as for kidlets disappearing, some of us have moments where it would be a good thing.. ;-/
And something my kids say “it sounded better in my head” as it always does.

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:00

:D Many thanks! The professor is definitely his worst enemy, I think. (Too bad that, when the kids disappear, they’re not replaced by devils.)

I wonder why. It’s a totally vexing matter.

  3. 5 PsiFiGal November 12, 2013 at 20:41

Oh My! What can I say, I just stumbled upon your tales of the Punchy Lands and don’t quite know what to think of them. I think maybe I’m in love, maybe that’s why I’m so confused and confounded… I will be back, for sure.

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 23:57

How interesting! What are you in love with, my dear? And welcome to the PL. Do you find it Punchy?

      • 7 PsiFiGal November 13, 2013 at 06:31

All of it! What I’ve seen so far that is, which isn’t much… so maybe I’m being a bit too hasty, hmmm? I love your video, which was more like a radio play, which I love, I was once the sound of a pirate chest creaking open in a radio play years ago.
And yes, it is extremely Punchy :)

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:13

Never too hasty!!! That’s awesome. The professor loves radio plays too–so imaginative!

A pirate chest? Very neat. How did you do it?

That’s great. The professor likes Punchyness, you know.

  4. 9 amarietaylor November 12, 2013 at 15:53

This blog is great! I love the characters and this crazy (but insightful) little world

    • 10 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 17:34

Oh, thanks! That is such a glorious thing to say. Do you find it Punchyish?

      • 11 amarietaylor November 12, 2013 at 18:45

I find it very punchinny! (I’m still learning the lingo)

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 23:56

You’re doing great! (Welcome glad to have you.) Jump right in and get Punchy. Any questions, just ask this professor!

  5. 13 The Dancing Rider November 11, 2013 at 22:11

Oh the number three proverb! Had me laughing! And it’s so true, Professor! That’s my favorite!

Hmmm, not romantic. Would you be surprised if I said I suspected as much?! Now, as for the frowning while wearing a top hat. At first I thought this may have been a bogus “ability”. But then I realized that if one frowns, it affects one’s head. So…… good for you for mastering this!

I feared the children might … disappear … or something. Uh-oh. I don’t know what to think about this. Perhaps someone saved them and took them away?

Love Magi’s quote. Since this happens to me frequently, I was gratified to read that it also happens to someone else.

As for the World Court. True enough. It does have NOTHING to do with freedom! That;s not really an answer or a “side”, but my observation.

I don’t envy you the task, Professor, of picking out a single tune. There are far, far too many from which to choose!

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:08

 Glad you liked it! It’s a goody.

Yes, it is a tough thing to master. I’ll teach you one day, if you’ll teach me how to stay on a horse. (A mere trot would throw me!) There’s a lot of debate on weather the professor is romantic. Perhaps we should open a forum? But then again, it’s not that important. But then again, I like to see a good war.

Yes, I think, Aud, did! She swooped in with her swat. We should give her a medal. Isn’t it great?

      And the professor–frequently.

 You should tell Magi that–confuse matters even more!

Way too many good ones, yes!

      • 15 The Dancing Rider November 12, 2013 at 14:22

It is great, re Aud! Hmm, I suppose Magi could be more confused….. ;-)

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 14:57

        Haha, yes!

      • 17 The Dancing Rider November 12, 2013 at 14:25

Oh, forgot to add. Yes, a forum or poll on whether the Professor is romantic. Liking a good war CAN be part of a romantic’s repetoire…..so there is a question there. :)

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 14:57

Oh, it can not, dadblameit! Dadblame dadblamery!!!

      • 19 The Dancing Rider November 12, 2013 at 23:06

Oh, I so disagree. LOL! Really only just to VEX you! :)

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 00:01

I think you’re laughing the professor to scorn, young lady!

      • 21 The Dancing Rider November 13, 2013 at 14:19

;-) Good heartedly, and in jest!

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:31

        And the professor understands–sorta!

  6. 23 weggieboy November 11, 2013 at 21:49

Dwear me! ALL the children disappeared. I suspect ill winds are ablowing!

    • 24 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:06

They are! What should be done?

  7. 25 Painting Pundit November 11, 2013 at 20:33

I think it would be a good thing to post a pic of the top hat thing. Otherwise how will we know that is the truth?
D.S is a dastardly fellow!! Can’t someone give him the Pink Potion before any more children disappear?

    • 26 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:02

But we can’t see a pic of the professor.

You’re right! Would you be brave enough to give it to him? Maybe we should make Manly-Man do it…

      • 27 Painting Pundit November 12, 2013 at 04:38

Then we’ll never know if the frown is really as good as the report!

Manly-man should take every opportunity to prove his manliness. Serving up the pink potion might help considerably!

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:19

It’s much worse than the report, I assure you.

        You’re right! Hear that, MM?

      • 29 Jazzy Couldren November 12, 2013 at 18:24

        Hey no. Dady’s my buddy.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 23:54

        Interesting.

  8. 31 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 11, 2013 at 20:29

Section A: All three hit me square between the eyes. I think I’ll write about #1 and choose #3 as my favorite.

Section B: Anyone who sees the beauty of Robin Hood, must be a romantic at heart, professor. I’m thrilled your top hat has a bit of color, is it Feisty Red? I think I like a frowning professor in a top hat!! :D

Section C: I don’t have to remind you of how much I adore Mr. Magi. <3

Section D: I snuck in with my swat team and grabbed those children. They are safely in my classroom and very happy. DS should be ashamed. ;)

    Section E: Let Freedom Ring!!!

Section F: Why is the professor's language so filthy?

    • 32 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:01

Glad you liked them! The professor finds them spicy from time to time.

Well.. (he’s probably sputtering)…Robin Hood is the best…

Gray with Feisty Red stripes or something like that. Don’t you think Feisty Red is one of the best colors ever? Red has always been the professor’s favorite.

Haha, wouldn’t a frowning professor be scary?

He’s a great guy, a bit scattered, but great.

 Is that what happened? Good! I’m sure I’ll have to deal with an angry DS. I think I’ll bring you along. (If you give him that tough attitude–think Maureen O’Hara–he becomes weak.)

      Yes!

  I practice sitting in my fireside chair smoking and swearing–just like Mark Twain!

      • 33 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2013 at 01:02

        Spicy like a japaleno

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:19

That is spicy! (I applaud you for trying on your phone.)

      • 35 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2013 at 02:34

Yes, tis spicy. (Well,it was worth a shot.) (Feisty red appears on my face when my phone doesn’t work fast enough.)

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:17

        Phones can be vexing!

      • 37 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2013 at 01:12

        Oops. (Phone)
Yea, that’s what I thought, Duke. ;) You don’t fool me.

Red is my favorite, too! Shocked, I know.

No, I think a frowning professor would make me try harder to get you to smile.

Scattered, you say. Hmmm, that reminds me if someone else I know.

Ha! I love the sound of that. I’ve got all the Maureen O’Hara we’ll need!!! (I was hoping for weak!) ;)

 (The image is priceless!!) I do hope you’re frowning as well.

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:20

        But the professor isn’t–can’t be…Ugh!

It’s impossible for a frowning professor to smile.

        Who? Who? Tell me!

(Maybe that’s how you stole the kids away?)

Not, actually laughing at all the cuss words.

      • 39 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2013 at 02:40

Oh but you can be, it sneaks in…

Not if I try hard enough, turn those frowns upside down.

Tell you? Oh boy…he’s professorishie, I may have to duck. Do you not recognize your own scattered traits? :D

        (That’s classified!)

        Me too!

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:19

It does not dadblameit! At least, the professor has never found it.

        Impossible!

Are you call this poor, laughed to scorn, professor scattered?

        Rats!

You’re not supposed to laugh. The professor is laughing because of how wicked it is.

      • 41 Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2013 at 13:46

        Does too, kind Sir.

To be honest, you call yourself scattered. Not to point fingers or anything.

May I smirk, possibly allow a few dimples to appear?

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 14:50

        Huff-Hum.

        I did? Well, glory be…

        Yes!

  9. 43 ladycheetah7 November 11, 2013 at 20:06

Punchy Proverbs: disagree with #3, #s 1&2 are spot on. I am not surprised DS’ s day care is shut down. After all, it is Daddy Salami, much like the same thing with his wife. Total mystery.
What is up with this socialist mentality? ?? I thought PL was a democracy? No PLer can ever be free as long as he/she is enslaved by men. Mr. Maji is out of order. Tell him to have a seat. \_
    :-P

    • 44 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:25

 And I suppose Lady likes #2 the best…if she had to pick one.

Don’t you feel bad for the children that disappeared? And for the parents who are probably grieving?

 Depends on the nation or kingdom in the PL. England is a monarchy. But Mr. Magi’s plan is to put one government in place, I believe.

Manly would agree with you. He’s always pushing Magi into his seat. \_ (Cool symbol, btw.)

      • 45 ladycheetah7 November 11, 2013 at 20:55

        #2 is the winner.
I feel bad for the children, not the parents. Idiots I say for taking their kids in the first place. And who said Mr. Maji was in charge?
P.S. ~ PVJ is a romantic. Don’t be ashamed. It is an honorable characteristic for ladies who appreciate being treated with class as opposing ti beinf treated like trash.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:04

        The professor thinks so too.

        They were idiots.

Is? Why would you say such a thing? Maybe it is a good thing. Does the professor treat ladies with class? :D

      • 47 ladycheetah7 November 11, 2013 at 23:29

If you didn’t you would not have female followers. Now the rest is a far fetched guess. Good test is if you haven’t said anything unseemly and did not get kicked in your groin, good chance you are the respectful type.

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:16

Well, then, the professor must be the respectful type. (Some say he’s sweet, but I doubt it.)

      • 49 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:04

Oh, Mr. Magi tries to take charge all the time. He supposed he knows better, you see.

    • 50 Jazzy Couldren November 11, 2013 at 22:55

Hey don’t worry. I’ll squash Magini’s little problem like he was a baby.

      • 51 ladycheetah7 November 11, 2013 at 23:30

        That’s the spirit!
        :-)

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:17

You need an English class, MM?

      • 53 Jazzy Couldren November 12, 2013 at 02:26

        Hey thanks, lady.

I’s gonna beat your little head prof.

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:17

Try to be nice and control your wild-man instincts, MM>

      • 55 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 01:49

You serious about beating the professors head? Make sure you both wear a helmet.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:04

MM is always threatening others; but I do believe he’s rarely serious.

      • 57 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 13:26

You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you?

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:20

        Of course, yes. Wouldn’t you?

      • 59 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 16:35

Not without a lot of thought.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:47

        Haha, and Huff-Hum!

  10. 61 sonya solomonovich November 11, 2013 at 20:00

I would never accuse the professor of being romantic! The punchy lands seem completely devoid of romance or Romanticism, and seeing as how the professor likes it there…

I agree with Fats Henry. Freedom is more important!

    • 62 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:23

:D That’s right! The professor is a sweet sort of chap, though.

It is! I’m sure that’s what a Swashbuckler would believe.

  11. 63 krugthethinker November 11, 2013 at 17:20

Oh no, the poor children! I hope they can be recovered…perhaps someone should check Ruber’s Catering?

    • 64 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:41

Perhaps so. But perhaps DS has gotten rid of them forever.

  12. 65 Brenda November 11, 2013 at 16:57

And here I almost put my kids in Daddy Salami’s day care. What a narrow escape for them.

    • 66 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:41

 Well, maybe your kids would have saved the other kids…

      • 67 Brenda November 11, 2013 at 19:42

        Hmm, that seems unlikely. :-)

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:20

 Well, you never know for sure…

      • 69 Brenda November 11, 2013 at 20:28

True. Could be all those superpowers from the cereal boxes might have turned the tide. :-)

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 22:58

Haha! Exactly. That’s what made the professor a hero, you know.

      • 71 Brenda November 12, 2013 at 01:15

        Breakfast of champions! LOL

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:21

        Amazing!

  13. 73 Susan P November 11, 2013 at 16:50

Okay, proverbs one and two are great. Three seems a little threatening – something DS might throw out there.

But, Professor, a top hat IS romantic!

I have no doubts that Magi gets confused and I am not surprised that the daycare disappeared.

    I’m with Fats Henry.

What do you mean, pick out tunes?

    • 74 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:41

 It does seem like a DS proverb! But you must pick a favorite. The professor favors #2.

      It is? Why?

This professor always thought Mr. Magi was the un-confsued type, didn’t you? I do feel sorry for the children.

You know what, so is the professor! :D

Oh, out of a large book to make another book. It’s all hush-hush. I do wish I could tell you more.

      • 75 Susan P November 11, 2013 at 19:43

*sigh* If I must, I must. I choose #2. And three is just really punchy if you take my meaning.

I did think Magi was more stable than that. Perhaps he is having an off day.

Uh-huh. thought that might be the case.

Oooooooo! A riddle. Sounds a lot like Samson’s riddle.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:21

That’s a good one. The professor likes it too. Isn’t Punchy good?

        Or didn’t have his tea…

        ;)

But you won’t be able to plow with my… Oh dear. I forget what it was he said.

      • 77 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 02:11

Punchy is pretty good. It makes me smile. And it’s safely kept in a land far away from here.

Professors are known for being absent-minded, so he is excused.

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:21

The professor is the go-between guy.

I was really hopping this professor could keep his wits about him, though.

      • 79 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 12:49

        Hopping? Like the Easter bunny?

BTW, I do remember what Samson said…but for the life of me I cannot see where that fits in this conversation. ;)

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:21

        That was wicked!

Well, you won’t be able to figure out the professor’s riddle since you can’t plow with his heifer. :D Brilliant, isn’t it?

      • 81 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 21:40

        Maybe it is…;)

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 23:59

Maybe? Now the professor feels dull.

      • 83 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 01:47

        The Professor is never dull.

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:03

:D Well, this professor definitely hopes so!

  14. 85 Debbie November 11, 2013 at 16:31

Proverb #2 resonates with me today.
As for the World Court conference, hasn’t there always been the push-pull between providing for people’s safety while letting them enjoy freedom??
Now, I’m finding myself a bit confused as to what happened to the daycare. Did it disappear after the kids got there, or did the kids disappear after it closed? I’m so confused!

    • 86 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:38

The professor agrees with you, Debbie. That one’s an interest, for sure!

There has! And that why this professor thinks it’s such a hard topic.

Well, the kids went to the daycare. Then the kids disappeared–mysteriously–and the daycare closed. Personally, I think DS did something. (Sorry for the confusion, but this professorish mind does that a lot.)

      • 87 Susan P November 11, 2013 at 19:43

That seems a bit concerning – disappearing children and what.

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:22

It definitely is. But not when DS is in the equation, then it suddenly makes sense.

      • 89 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 02:13

Susan still worries about the children. She hopes they made it home safely.

      • 90 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:22

Well, actually, the professor just heard that Aud saved the kids! Now how’s that?

      • 91 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 12:50

This may work well. I’m optimistic.

      • 92 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:21

The professor usually is–unless he’s being laughed to scorn.

      • 93 Susan P November 12, 2013 at 21:40

Who among us laughs the Professor to scorn?

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 23:59

I think everyone has at one point. Sad, isn’t it?

      • 95 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 01:51

Laugh I have, but scorn thee never!

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 13:04

 That’s because Susan is very sweet. (I love your line…)

      • 97 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 13:28

Thank you, Professor. Sometimes my brain cooperates, and other times it doesn’t. This time it took the initiative.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:21

Haha. You make the professor laugh!

      • 99 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 16:36

        Uh-huh. Sometimes, though, it’s not funny. :)

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:48

Even the scary is funny to this professor.

      • 101 Susan P November 13, 2013 at 16:56

I’ll take your word for it. :)

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:58

        :D The professor is honored!

  15. 103 Hazy November 11, 2013 at 15:39

    (3) is true! It often happens to me. When things are going well, I just know something might go wrong. Maybe I’m just unlucky that way

What color is the professor’s top hat? I’m imagining black or dark grey…

I think J.T. Magi just described the hazy mind! (part of it at least) :D

Disappeared! As in they decided not to show up again to go to daycare? Or they vanished mysteriously?

Indeed. It’s so much harder to choose when choices are countless!

    • 104 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:34

 And the professor is too! It has to do with the professorish and hazy mind, I think.

Dark gray, definitely! With a red border…

 That means Mr. Magi is a bit Hazyish too!

Vanished mysteriously! I’m sure DS did something dastardly…

It is! The professor’s wishes there was only one choice all the time.

      • 105 Hazy November 14, 2013 at 16:38

        I bet it does!

Oh, no! I wonder what dastardly deed DS has done… Someone should investigate, no? Who could be brave enough to do so?

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke November 14, 2013 at 19:09

Well, good news. Aud (Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister) investigated and saved the children!

  16. 107 sknicholls November 11, 2013 at 15:06

While I firmly believe number #1
    # 2: The majority of humanity’s problems are self-inflicted.
Rings the truest to me on this particular day.
I have always tried to look at the brighter side to things going on in my life, no matter how challenging those things are/were. I believe there are victims, and then there are survivors. i choose to be a survivor.
Most people, whether individuals or massive leagues of people tend to make their own problems.

    • 108 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:28

Very good point. And the professor agrees.

  17. 109 L. Marie November 11, 2013 at 14:11

I choose number 1. And while Fats Henry has a point, the world needs to be a safer place.
Um, I agree with Anja. I think the Professor’s heart beats with a romantic rhythm–possibly the samba.

    • 110 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:22

And Mr. Magi would do a great job keeping it in order, I think…right MM?

      What?! You can’t be serious!

      • 111 L. Marie November 11, 2013 at 19:24

        I am indeed.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:13

But how can that be possible?

  18. 113 Jackie November 11, 2013 at 14:00

I don’t have much to say today other than my favorite is #1 and have a great day! :-D

    • 114 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:21

It definitely tells the truth! And you have a great day too!

      • 115 Jackie November 11, 2013 at 14:44

        Thanks! 8-)

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:27

 I love that face. But the professorish face is just as  ==]:-{)=

      • 117 Jackie November 11, 2013 at 19:34

Indeed it is! It suits you very nicely! 8-)

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:14

        :D Many thanks!

  19. 119 Lana November 11, 2013 at 13:55

    Love the professor’s proverbs!

    • 120 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:20

Many thanks! Do you have an absolute favorite?

  20. 121 FictionFan November 11, 2013 at 13:50

No 2 is very appropriate for Remembrance Day, but no 3 is appropriate every day…

    I agree. Congratulations.

Mr Magi has hit on a universal truth there, I think.

Is there a new dish on the menu at Ruber’s?

I think the PL requires a strong Empress rather than a world court…

    • 122 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:19

And you must pick a favorite.

You do? Interesting. I think you and Miss Tiffany think alike. :D

      Definitely has, I’d say.

Haha, I think Salami’s the one who did the dirty deed here. Ruber’s too sweet.

      Emperors are better, I think.

      • 123 FictionFan November 11, 2013 at 16:04

        Then 3, if I must.

Well, I think Miss T is intelligent, witty, smart and sophisticated….so I agree! ;)

Ruber sweet? Hmm…perhaps it means something different in American…

Do you? You’re wrong(er). And I’m sure Miss T would agree with me on that too…

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:37

FEF should write a proverb–if you’re interested. I’ll include it in the lineup.

I think so too, so the professor must agree! It’s nice having such smart PFMs about!

Sweet like the professor. (Sometimes I think sweet and wicked are synonyms.)

 The professor has been wrong a lot today… Don’t you think the professor would make a good emperor?

      • 125 FictionFan November 11, 2013 at 21:18

Oooh, but what if Shnoddy read it? A golden opportunity to get some of his own back… I shall give it some thought… How about…When the man who thinks he is wise speaks, the wise woman dons her earplugs. ;)

        It must be…

Ruber is like the Professor as a bowl of cold porridge is like an ice-lolly.

        Today? ;)

No – I suspect he would ban coffee and chocolate, and make tea and cashews compulsory…

PS Susan makes a valid point re the top hat.

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:06

 The professor was being quite… Oh, never mind, dadblameit!

        Huff-Hum.

        I think that’s a compliment, but the professor can’t tell for sure…

Huff-Hum. The professor is being made fun of, abused, and destroyed.

Not at all. ‘Cause FEF likes them.

What twas that? I forget things.

      • 127 FictionFan November 12, 2013 at 00:21

        So was FF!!!

        Great new word.

It was…if you’d ever eaten cold porridge you’d have understood it better.

Oh dear! Who by? Poor Prof!

OK, how about you be emperor on weekdays and I’ll be empress at the weekends?

That a top hat is a bit romantic (as you would have known had you scrolled up a few comments, lazybones…)

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 02:19

What were you? The professor did not finish his sentence!

        Never have.

Everyone. In every circle, in every room, in every chair.

Would you be sweet on the weekends?

But I don’t think it is. It can’t be. The professor can’t be. Dadblame the whole thing. I shouldn’t have brought it up. ( Lazy professor, I think you mean.)

      • 129 FictionFan November 12, 2013 at 15:35

My psychic powers suggested you were going to say ‘serious’…but perhaps not…

        Poor Prof!

No. What’s the point of being Empress if you have to be sweet?

Oh, no, I don’t think you’re romantic (though perhaps Anja sees a side of you hidden to the rest of us) – so perhaps you should wear a bowler hat instead of a top hat.

      • 130 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 17:32

It disturbs me how much you can read my mind…

        Well…what to say?

        Was Darby romantic?

      • 131 MissTiffany November 12, 2013 at 13:40

I must take a moment to thank you both – Professor and FictionFan – for saying such good things about me! You are too kind.

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 14:49

        Not at all! :D

  21. 133 MissTiffany November 11, 2013 at 13:41

I heartily agree with proverb number two.
Ah, so there are still those who believe the Professor has some romanticism in him? And you’ve mastered the art of frowning while wearing a top hat? Have you been taking lessons from Darby?
    I understand J.T. Magi’s problem perfectly.
Oh dear. What is being done to recover the lost children?
I think Fats Henry and the World Court both have good points, but have room for compromise. (Nova says: Forget freedom! Let the World Court rule *ahem* guide the people in what they really need!)

    • 134 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:18

      Yes, isn’t it an interest?

There are! The professor finds it interesting that only Miss Tiffany and FictionFan consider him unromantic. This is an interest. What do you make of it?

Darby? Dadblameit! Of course not. I’m not sure how I set myself up for that one.

      So do I!

      I believe they’re lost beyond finding…

(And Grimace agrees! Only Chaos should be ruling!)

      • 135 MissTiffany November 12, 2013 at 13:47

        It certainly is!

It is a conundrum to be sure…It may make for an interesting debate among the PFMs.

It’s quite simple – when Darby first came into the countryside near Longbourn and the Bennet family – he never smiled and seldom made conversation (if he could help it). I am sure he would have a top hat, and that he would be frowning. After he married Elizabeth, however, he may find less occasions to frown.

Have they been taken by the likes of the Pied Piper, or sent to the Neverland? I do hope nothing too dreadful befell them.

(Thank you for your support, Grimace. Chaos appreciates your efforts to spread our work to the Punchy Lands.)

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 14:52

It would. I think the professor is going to try to open PL forums–on a whole range of topics.

Maybe Lizio made his life horrible, we don’t know for sure.

Well, I just found out that PLFM, Aud, saved them with her swat. DS will be cranky.

(Awesome. The professor is planning a post about it.)

      • 137 MissTiffany November 13, 2013 at 13:58

That would be very exciting, Professor. I would definitely participate!

Oh no, Lizio couldn’t have possibly done that! She and Darby lived happily ever after, I know it.

Whew! I’m so relieved! Even if DS is cranky about it.

I look forward to it! (Would you like me to send you some graphics to use in the post?)

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:30

        Oh, that’s great!

        Maybe…

        Me too!

That would be awesome, yes please!

      • 139 MissTiffany November 13, 2013 at 16:47

I will get those ready to send to you then, Professor!

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 16:50

        Awesome and thanks!

      • 141 MissTiffany November 13, 2013 at 17:17

        You’re welcome!

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2013 at 20:45

  22. 143 Anja November 11, 2013 at 13:27

Ouch….I am a critic now? The Professor and protest all he wishes but I know the truth. :)
Oh and I love number 2 and 3.
I was confused as to why I was receiving a PL notice, then realized it is Monday. Silly days off make me confused.

    • 144 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:16

Isn’t it fun being a critic? The professor thinks so. Well…what can I say?

      :D Thanks many!

Is it scary to get a PL notice?

      • 145 Anja November 11, 2013 at 14:23

I’m not a critic and no matter what you say, you are romantic and cannot possibly wear a top hat and frown.

Ummm it was unnerving because I was thinking, “did I lose track of the professors mind and he has went and posted something”….then I remembered it was Monday. :(

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 14:28

Well, Miss Tiffany and FictionFan think the professor’s an unromantic beast! I don’t see why not.

 The professor got the perfect person keeping track of his professorishness. Thanks for caring! :D

      • 147 Anja November 11, 2013 at 14:32

They say that because they are blinded by your facade. Not me….I know the truth.

:) good. I didn’t want to lose my position.

      • 148 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:26

Huff-Humm, you know, for the professor doesn’t know what else to say.

        Never!

      • 149 Anja November 11, 2013 at 18:33

        Is that my fault?!

      • 150 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 18:42

No, but what should I say?

      • 151 Anja November 11, 2013 at 18:50

        Whatever you wish

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:13

        The professor is unromantic.

      • 153 Anja November 11, 2013 at 20:15

If you are wishing for it, means you are romantic to start with. Wish is not granted.

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 20:26

The professor is truly lost, I fear.

      • 155 Anja November 11, 2013 at 20:51

        That’s why you have me.

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2013 at 23:02

:D You truly don’t know how reassuring that is! Many thanks.

      • 157 Anja November 12, 2013 at 03:10

        :) Very very welcome

      • 158 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2013 at 13:19

        :D
