I like all the proverbs today, (3) most of all. All very related to curiosity. I like learning and studying and researching, a nerdy hazy mind I guess. Are there high schools and colleges in the PL?

    Enigma. Such a nice word.

Would the emperor be foolish enough to eat fish from the Cavooti pond, I wonder.

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:05

Oh yes, definitely. I think a nerdy hazy mind is a wonderful thing!

It is! Something professorish about it.

      If he didn’t know? Yes.

      • 3 Hazy December 27, 2013 at 02:10

        Why, thank you, professor!

Something professorish about it indeed. A very good word.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:05

        It is!

  2. 5 MissTiffany December 3, 2013 at 17:29

On the proverbs: Is it always a foolish mind that wants answers? Perhaps it is actually the brave minds that want answers. I like umber two just for the fact that you used the word “ardently.” But number three strikes me as the truest.

I’m glad to hear Fats Henry is happy with who he is.

Good plan, King Arthur. I advise he also send a beautiful woman to distract the emperor while he eats the fish.

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:31

      Do you like ardently?

      Oh, he definitely is.

 Nappy just might fall for that!

      • 7 MissTiffany December 4, 2013 at 17:40

        Yes I do. Most ardently.

        I certainly think it’s worth a shot! ;)

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 18:51

Hmm…sounds like a Darby word. So I shouldn’t use it, probably.

  3. 9 L. Marie December 3, 2013 at 12:39

I’m for the third proverb also. I’m glad the professor is not an enigma. Also, I dadblame the dadblamery often. Perhaps Fats Henry should also dadblame the dadblamery when he hears suggestions like that.

    • 10 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:23

I think he should too. Are you the dancing type?

  4. 11 krugthethinker December 3, 2013 at 05:23

My flubber is glorious too! Also, I love that third proverb. As long as you’re learning, you’re forever young.

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:21

 All flubber is glorious. Very true!

  5. 13 The Dancing Rider December 2, 2013 at 22:51

    Love the new avatar! :)

I like all the proverbs in this issue! My favorite is #3, though. Really, that is so true.

Ok, professor! You must have been into the Zen again ;-). I could not figure that out sufficiently to speak about it. Does that make you an enigma??

Oh my. Parker and Fats. Yikes. Not so nice of Parker, eh?

I so agree with the professorish mind! That is very true I think! We know the world never will though – otherwise things wouldn’t function!

Eek, and under what guise was Arthur shipping those dreadful fish?!

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:42

      :D Isn’t it swell?

      It is!

Haha, well it depends. What think thou of the professor? If you saw him, would you recognize him?

Well, I think he’s doing for Henry’s betterment. After all, it could be beneficial. Of course, though, Parker could just be being a meanie.

:D That means you must have a professorish mind of sorts.

As legitimate food, I think. Nappy won’t be happy–if he survives.

      • 15 The Dancing Rider December 3, 2013 at 23:39

Hmmmm, I am not sure if I would recognize the professor or not. I do think the professor could very well be an enigma though….

Parker tends to be both helpful, and mean. Though not simultaneously. Sort of like me, lol.

Yikes on passing off those dreadful fish as legitimate food! I know we’ll be hearing more about this in the news.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 14:13

Well…maybe…I think I’m rather transparent, though.

Haha! And he’s really smart, you know. An inventor.

Definitely. Nappy might invade after this.

      • 17 The Dancing Rider December 4, 2013 at 14:25

Oh, well then, re Parker. I can feel better being like his character then! ;-)

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 18:43

:) But you do ride horse much better than Parker does.

      • 19 The Dancing Rider December 4, 2013 at 20:20

        L. O. L. ;-)

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 21:01

        :D

  6. 21 Sonya Solomonovich December 2, 2013 at 20:51

Proverb 3 is my favorite. I used to be an educator of sorts, and it seems students are not really interested in learning itself. Very vexing indeed!

Perhaps this ace reporter could investigate whether Napoleon is aware of the poisoned fish exports and what he plans to do about it?

    • 22 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:41

It is vexing! Pure dadblamery I tell you.

Ooo, good one, Sonya. I’ll relay this, for sure. What would you do about it?

      • 23 Sonya Solomonovich December 2, 2013 at 22:47

i don’t know… swashbucklers are not very good at political stuff. Perhaps I would consider that Arthur having food from Ruber’s catering is punishment enough.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:40

 True. But I’m sure the place is a bit better now that Mortimer is there.

  7. 25 MikeW December 2, 2013 at 20:20

Your dropping by reminded me. I had been without recommended doses of Punchy proverbs. Much better now. I had also lost faith that it was possible to come up with new names. Here it is done!

    • 26 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:40

Good to see you, Mike! But what new names?

      • 27 MikeW December 2, 2013 at 23:35

Your Punchy Lands journalist’s name for one. Creative names on your site.

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:43

Oh yes, Freedwoppen. Great guy, you know. And thank you!

  8. 29 ladycheetah7 December 2, 2013 at 17:41

I am torn between #s 2&3 but if I must choose it will be #2. Ah, King Arthur, he is such a clever chap!

    • 30 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:29

      What thinketh thou of #1?

He is! And I think Lady likes him.

      • 31 ladycheetah7 December 2, 2013 at 18:42

Um, I would have to respectfully disagree because a fool supposes s/he
Already has the answers. They are in want of answers meaning they lack and don’t even know they are in need of them.

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:35

Lady, you are brilliant. The professor is so dull…

      • 33 ladycheetah7 December 2, 2013 at 22:37

        As evidenced by my halo
        O:-)

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:40

 You’re also very wicked. And I know you like DS and Mr. R.

      • 35 ladycheetah7 December 3, 2013 at 14:16

Actually I don’t but for some reason you want me to like them (rolling the eyes) and it is not going to happen. Oh, btw nice new logo. Looks very stylish.

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:26

        Hmm…

Thank you! It’s the opposite of the dull professor, then. (That’s why I need shorts like those thingys, you know.)

  9. 37 technophile9 December 2, 2013 at 16:29

    I like Quote #3 the best! :)

    Go Henry!

And I like the new background!

    • 38 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:25

Ah yes, I like that one too.

      You wouldn’t dance either?

      Many thanks!

  10. 39 FictionFan December 2, 2013 at 15:14

    1. Doesn’t the inquiring mind want answers too?
    3. May be true for Shnoddy but not for everyone…
So the winner is…2! (even though it’s not necessarily true)

He is an enigma. And he’s been listening to Shnoddy too much again…

    I’m with Bud!

At least that should hopefully mean fish is off the menu at Ruber’s!

Smooth can be dull, though, don’t you think?

    Nice new look :)

    • 40 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:25

I would think so, personally. #1 is very confusing, you know. What’s wrong with #2, dadblameit?!

      What is an enigma, FEF?

Bud’s a regular dancer, you know.

      Now will you go?

Yes, very dull–just like the professor.

Thank you, dear! We’re still under construction.

      • 41 FictionFan December 2, 2013 at 23:37

Some truths can never be proved but are accepted on faith alone (well, you did ask!) “We hold these truths to be self-evident…”

A riddle, a mystery, a conundrum, a confusion, a kerfufflement, incapable of comprehension by mortal mind – in fact, the acme of professorialism.

Is he? But is he good?

Only when Arthur also disposes of all the chicken and beans in the PL.

The Professor can’t be dull since he is a priceless faceted ruby…

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:48

Hmm…the professor likes that lots. Cool little quote you got at the end there.

Well, I’ll tell you. The professor is like King Fu Panda.

Yes, he’s quite adequate. You might even consider it, princess.

But he only controls England. Don’t get too ambitious. Soon you may be queen.

A ruby? I’d rather be a lava rock.

      • 43 FictionFan December 3, 2013 at 15:18

King Fu Panda? Is that an Asian dish at Ruber’s?

Hmm…I’d still rather dance with the Professor…

Look, I’ve never really got to grips with geography in this world, so you can’t expect me to understand the mysteries of the PL!

Lava rock? Isn’t that what people use to remove the hard skin from their feet? Yucketh! I do hope the Professor doesn’t turn into that…

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:29

It’s supposed to be Kung. The professor made a professorish mistake.

Playing a game of tennis might be better…

Rats, dadblameit. I must do some more introducing and things, but it’s all very boring. And I don’t know how to go about it.

Really? Yucketh indeed! Me too… Maybe I’m Fool’s Gold.

      • 45 FictionFan December 3, 2013 at 20:08

It was a good mistake though…

If the Professor thinks I’m going to play tennis in a ballgown and dancing slippers, he’s sadly mistaken!

But…being confused is very Punchyish, isn’t it?

        Gold perhaps – Fool, no!

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 22:41

        Good mistakes are nice.

Well, couldn’t you play in something else? Dancing slippers?

 Definitely professorish. I’m getting worse.

You are a very kind FEF, FEF.

  11. 47 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 2, 2013 at 15:01

I like them all. 1. I don’t wanna be foolish. 2. Seeking truth is important, enjoying a nice tale is good for the soul. 3. This one is my favorite…learning is the be all and end all, to me.

:D Yikes. Feeling threatened?? I hope the professor is okay.

Leave poor Fats alone, it’s the Christmas season…too many parties to start dancing now…actually, it’s the best time to start dancing. Maybe with a few sugar cookies in hand. :)

Cavootti pond may need restocking. The King should get someone on that.

I like the new changes around the PL!! Will miss seeing the ring, but the snowy mountains are a nice touch.

    • 48 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:23

But #1 is so dadblame confusing, dadblameit!

The professor is usually okay, but not always, you know.

I don’t dance, but Fats should–if he wants to lose weight. You know, the professor never danced? (I brag about this quite frequently.)

Well, I’m sure he wants to get rid of the fish–they’re quite deadly, and mean.

:D Thanks! Under construction, you know. The ring? Well, I’ll fix that…

      • 49 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 2, 2013 at 18:46

It is confusing. I am often the fool.

I hope the professor is okay. I understand not being okay, though.

Yes, we’re all well away that you don’t dance. You should see Aud chair dance…I am a rockstar at that! And I play a mean air guitar/drums. I have the best facial expressions, as well. I’m quite fun at parties.

What does Arthur want to put in the pond instead? Something beautiful??

        I do like the ring…

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:37

        No I am.

Why wouldn’t the professor be okay?

 The professor would love to see it! I can tell you’re a fun person by your personality, I thinketh.

He doesn’t care that much about it, and the professor is unavailable.

I wear it all the time, except when I don’t.

      • 51 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 2, 2013 at 21:47

        No me…

        You said sometimes you’re not…

Audith, tis humorous. Thinketh the professorish one needeth a videoth. :)

Is the professor confessing to being beautiful?

Is that like every day, except days thst end in Y?

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:37

        I insist me.

Did I? Twas a lie, Audith.

A video? Yes! When will you make one?

He might look good in an ugly fish pond.

Yes, that’s it! You’re very good at things like that.

      • 53 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 3, 2013 at 03:43

        Naww…

Well that’s a whole different kind of problem.

        No videos for liars.

Bring. Back. The. Ring. Gravatar. And. No. Person. Gets. Hurt. :) Is this clear enough…lol. (I crack myself up.)

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:50

But the professor only tells baby lies…

        The ring? Why?

      • 55 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 3, 2013 at 03:57

        ………….right. :{

To that I say…why not? (I’ll get used to the new one..twill be fine.)

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:21

        Huff-Hum and a roar.

The new one is more handsome.

      • 57 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 3, 2013 at 20:13

        That’s what Audith said…X1,000

I’ll be the judge of that… maybe, ok, so it seems. :)

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 22:43

I didn’t hear you say it!

At least it’s not upside down!

      • 59 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 3, 2013 at 23:36

Yes you did…bring your head a little closer….!

 That was low. I’m beginning to think you don’t like my picture.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 14:12

  No, I like it! Just being wicked!

      • 61 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 4, 2013 at 14:45

        me too. ;)

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 18:44

        ==]:-{)+

      • 63 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 00:44

You changed the schedule? It’s about time all of this random posting it makes me crazy (crazier?).

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:48

I did! Isn’t it better now?

      • 65 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 13:02

        Anything goes! Yes!

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:25

        :D

  12. 67 Debbie December 2, 2013 at 14:54

I like #2 and #3 this morning. As for #1, well, I’ll have to think about that a bit more. I’m not entirely sure I agree.

So the professor doesn’t do anything until he does nothing, huh? I do like that. Seems perfectly logical to me to rest before tackling ANY major undertaking.

I like this new background, too. Is it sand, or snow??

    • 68 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:21

#1 boggles this poor professorish mind, to be quite deadly honest.

It does! And it seems to work for this professor.

Thanks! The PL is under construction, I fear. It’s sand–Gobi desert, actually. Neat, huh?

  13. 69 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 14:36

#3 is so sadly true. I don’t think it is a lack of ability in students, or the lack of good teachers, but rather too much interference by people who have no clues about what real learning is.

    • 70 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 14:42

No, he’s not an enigma. What’s an enigma?

King Arthur is only following the customs of many monarchs down through the ages.

“If the world would just dadblame the dadblamery, everything would run smoother.” So, are you saying we should make smoothies of it all? I’m ready with my blender…

It appears that we have lost the delightful view of DS sticking out his tongue. It seems ominous to me. I think Freedwoppen should investigate to make sure that our homeboy DS has not met with foul play.

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:14

I’m not sure actually. But I’ve been called it!

Yes, being wicked. So, is the professor. O professor e mau.

 Not sure that was the idea…but if you make it cherry…

Yes, definitely. The professor shall get on this.

      • 72 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 19:37

        Cherry it is then.

Apparently the old rascal moved. The professor can move quite quickly.

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:39

        Yes!

Yep, there he is. Scary, huh?

      • 74 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 22:11

No, he’s not any scarier than the Professor is. I’m glad to see he’s back…but I still think someone should do some sleuthing and find out what bladamerary he’s been about.

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:39

I’m sure it’s been wicked. Do you think the professor wicked?

      • 76 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 13:01

No, the Professor is sweet – he told me so himself.

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:24

But Lady said you said I was wicked.

      • 78 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 20:14

Naughty and wicked are not the same.

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 22:44

But wicked and sweet might be.

      • 80 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 01:04

        Maybe on every other day….
        ;)

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 14:16

        Haha. That works, I suppose.

    • 82 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:12

Very good point. I thought it was the lack of professorish professors… ;)

      • 83 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 19:33

I’m glad I was able to clear that up for you.

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:39

        Now, now! Such dadblamery!

      • 85 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 22:10

What dadblamary is this of which you speak?

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:38

Professorish professors are very important, you know!

      • 87 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 13:00

        So I’ve heard. ;)

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:24

        From whom?

      • 89 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 20:13

From a professorish sort of being.

      • 90 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 22:43

I fear I’m the only one.

      • 91 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 01:04

Are you saying that you are like Tigger?

      • 92 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 14:15

 I’m constantly walking into that trap! (But I do like Tigger.)

      • 93 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 14:50

My very most favorite coffee mug has Tigger on it.

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 18:46

So, this could mean your favorite coffee mug has the professor on it?

      • 95 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 19:19

I picked up one of your pictures that are all over the internet.

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 19:32

But I don’t look like tigger on the internet…

      • 97 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 19:57

Sometimes your writing voice sounds Tiggerish.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 20:58

        It does?

      • 99 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 22:02

Yes, it does. Bouncy and fun.

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 23:24

 The professor is bouncy, interestingly enough!

      • 101 Susan P December 5, 2013 at 00:24

        Yep. I knew it.

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke December 5, 2013 at 17:53

Susan seems to know a lot about the professor–which is very scary!

      • 103 Susan P December 5, 2013 at 19:10

        Nah. Just observant.

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke December 6, 2013 at 04:08

        Well…still dadblamery!

      • 105 Susan P December 6, 2013 at 13:39

No, not really. Weird, maybe, but I’m used to it.

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke December 6, 2013 at 16:18

You’re right: the professor is weird.

  14. 107 portergirl December 2, 2013 at 14:01

Today’s proverbs are thought-provoking and true. I wonder what the Punchy education system is like?

    • 108 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 14:43

I’m pretty sure that I don’t want to know about the school system.

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:18

        I’m sure it’s good.

      • 110 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 19:38

On what do you make that evaluation?

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:40

MM went to school there, and Ruber did a bit of schooling, I think.

      • 112 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 22:12

Okay…that gives me a pretty good idea.

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 03:39

        Positive or negative?

      • 114 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 13:01

        What do you think?

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:25

        Oh, positive, definitely!

      • 116 Susan P December 3, 2013 at 20:15

It’s a good thing to be positive. Or so I’ve heard.

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 22:45

Yes, but sometimes I doubt it.

      • 118 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 01:05

        Does that make you negative?

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 14:16

No! The professor is very positive, I hope. Always thinking righteous thoughts.

      • 120 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 14:51

        Define “righteous” in this context.

      • 121 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 18:46

        Uplifting, I think.

      • 122 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 19:20

At least it gives one something upon which to ponder.

      • 123 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 19:33

        It sure does.

      • 124 Susan P December 4, 2013 at 20:00

Righteous seems like a good thing.

      • 125 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2013 at 20:59

        It sure does.

    • 126 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:12

Well, I suppose it depends on where in the PL you’re at. I’m sure in dark age England there isn’t much of one.

      • 127 portergirl December 3, 2013 at 12:32

Much the same could be said for modern age England, depending what part of the country you are in!

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2013 at 19:22

        Really? Interesting!

  15. 129 weggieboy December 2, 2013 at 14:01

A great selection of odds and ends today!

    • 130 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 14:43

      A great many odds…

      • 131 Jackie December 2, 2013 at 14:47

Do the odds outnumber the ends?

      • 132 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 14:57

In the PL? You’d better believe they do.

      • 133 Jackie December 2, 2013 at 16:51

        8-)

      • 134 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:19

      • 135 Susan P December 2, 2013 at 19:38

        :D

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 21:40

    • 137 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2013 at 18:11

      Thank you, my man!
