Nice proverbs. Good job, Merlin. I hope Shnodgrate is all right.

Wooden boxes are nice, especially those with intricate designs. So pretty. What does the professor put in those boxes? Knife collection? Do you have one as large as a trunk or treasure chest?

What happened to the invasion? Was Arthur surprised?

I haven’t tried spicy hot chocolate, but spicy chocolate gelato tastes better than I thought it would. :D

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:07

I think he is. Just a bit grumpy.

No, they’re usually very small. I store different professorish things in them–of little importance.

I think he was. Mr. Magi is trying to make peace, I think.

      Ooo, that sounds so good!

  2. 3 MissTiffany December 13, 2013 at 21:41

I really like proverb number one this week. It has common sense.

The professor should know that I also like ornamental wooden boxes, and boxes in general. The best ones either have presents in them, or are big enough to hide in.

How did Napoleon find out about the poisoned fish?

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke December 14, 2013 at 00:32

I did not know that! I agree about hiding in them. that would be professorish.

I suppose Nappy’s aid got it, you know?

      • 5 MissTiffany December 14, 2013 at 19:21

Haha, I shall keep that in mind next time I hide in a box. I’ll be being professorish.

        Poor aid.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke December 15, 2013 at 21:55

        It’s fun to be professorish.

  3. 7 L. Marie December 11, 2013 at 13:50

I’m partial to proverb 2. Wonderment is a good thing. I also like wooden boxes. Not exactly sure why.
Starbucks has a peppy hot chocolate with sea salt. i recommend it.

    • 8 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:06

Me neither. Could be the smell.

That sounds great. Is it really spicy?

  4. 9 krugthethinker December 10, 2013 at 22:01

Hahaha, I always go inside when the wind blows! Also, spicy hot chocolate is confusing, but delicious!

    • 10 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 00:02

I’ve never had it, but it sure sounds good.

  5. 11 technophile9 December 10, 2013 at 16:12

    Quote #1 for sure! :D

Spicy hot chocolate sounds a bit too hot, don’t you think?

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 18:02

It does, but it might be worth a try.

  6. 13 portergirl December 10, 2013 at 12:15

I like chilli chocolate very much. Never had it as a drink, though. I shall ask Chef to make me some next time I am passing the kitchens.I like Merlin’s proverbs, but would be very interested to see what MM would come up with, were he to be in a proverb-writing position ;)

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:34

Fine, then! I shall ask MM to write a proverb or two next week!

      How does chili chocolate taste?

      • 15 portergirl December 10, 2013 at 14:35

It’s pretty good, actually, smooth and gooey with a firey after taste.

Oh, I am so looking forward to MM’s proverbs!

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:48

You know, that sounds professorish for sure.

 I do hope he agrees!

  7. 17 Leya's Chamber December 10, 2013 at 08:39

I love the proverbs.. :D :D I suppose you also love plants since you love ornamental boxes :D

    • 18 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:33

Thank you! They’re a bit crazy, aren’t they? The professor actually loves cactus…

      • 19 Leya's Chamber December 11, 2013 at 01:27

ahahahahaha… no need to water them ehy!!! :D :D

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:00

Very true. They don’t steal my water.

  8. 21 Painting Pundit December 10, 2013 at 04:11

What exactly is the spicy hot chocolate spiced with? Merlin has some good quotes!

    • 22 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:32

I’m not sure. What is generally used? Merlin’s a nut, isn’t he?

      • 23 Painting Pundit December 10, 2013 at 14:40

I don’t know. Never had any. Maybe some cinnamon?

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:48

Possibly. I know that chocolate can be flavored with hot peppers

      • 25 Painting Pundit December 10, 2013 at 19:03

I believe that is mole sauce on chicken and other dishes. I don’t think it’s drinkable. Mole is very good but doesn’t taste much like chocolate. That’s all I know about spiced chocolate which isn’t much!!

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 20:05

That’s more than I know, and thanks for telling me. Perhaps I should just forget the whole dadblame thing…

      • 27 Painting Pundit December 10, 2013 at 20:22

Sounds like a dad blame good plan!

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 23:56

        Oh well!

  9. 29 The Dancing Rider December 9, 2013 at 21:44

Wonderful wonderment – #2 of course. Because with #1 I would frequently be going against the wind, to my detriment of course — as I would not want to go inside to get away. I have a soft spot for Merlin.

Does the Professor also like ornamental wooden *puzzle* boxes?

Must say, I love that the PL is punchy because it’s residents exist. ;-) Good ole’ Kirk!

Of course I knew Nappy would invade. Who wouldn’t, after finding out about those DREADFUL fish?!

Last, but not least, I have had so-called spicy hot chocolate, and I prefer just the plain – with whipped cream if possible. :)

    • 30 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:29

 Merlin seems like a sweet older gentleman, doesn’t he?

Yes! I don’t know why, though. I just do.

Always stating the obvious, he is!

I would. But who do you suppose is right in the war?

I’ve never had it. What’s it taste like?

      • 31 The Dancing Rider December 10, 2013 at 14:43

It’s really hard to say who is right in the war. I’m not so sure there is a “right” here. But, I also realize the war must occur! Does that make sense?

My “spicy” chocolate had chili powder in it. Not my favorite. I don’t really want chili powder in my chocolate….

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:49

It makes perfect sense. Mr. Magi is trying to have them make peace, so we shall see.

        That sounds strange!

      • 33 The Dancing Rider December 10, 2013 at 14:47

Oh, and yes on Merlin. Definitely a soft spot for him!

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:50

The man loves tea, I think.

  10. 35 bardictale December 9, 2013 at 19:40

Going indoors is a rather good solution.

    • 36 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:16

      I thought so too.

  11. 37 Anja December 9, 2013 at 18:23

I have a wooden heart shaped box that is a puzzle to open and close.
    Thought you didn’t like chocolate.

    • 38 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:16

That would be nice to see. You should blog about it.

      I don’t.

      • 39 Anja December 9, 2013 at 20:41

Blog about my wooden heart. Lol

So why are you drinking hot chocolate

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:26

        Yes. It would be…neatio.

I don’t know. You tell me.

      • 41 Anja December 10, 2013 at 14:46

I will consider the blog idea.

Well I was sorting your mind and then you mention drinking hot chocolate so I felt something must be amiss. Surely you meant tea.

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:49

        And vlog…

        Well, no, I didn’t… What’s wrong?

      • 43 Anja December 10, 2013 at 18:21

Ahhhh the vlog. You won’t let me forget

Nothing is wrong with me. I feared something was wrong with you since you drank what you don’t like.

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 20:04

        :D :D

Yes, I was asking what’s wrong with me. Not you.

      • 45 Anja December 10, 2013 at 22:38

Oh oops….maybe too much holiday pressure causing you to forget what you do and do not like?

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 00:05

That has to be it. I don’t think I’m ever going to finish Christmas shopping, Anja! What will I do?

Having a professorish breakdown:

      • 47 Anja December 11, 2013 at 01:45

ha I think you are just fine. Ummm Christmas shopping….I am making all my gifts but online is quick and painless silly.

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:00

:D Thanks. Making your own? Now that is awesome! Online is so unprofessorish though.

      • 49 Anja December 11, 2013 at 18:24

Yes I am making all but two things. Even using my art for wrapping paper. :)
So where do you get your gifts?

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 21:45

That is fabulous, truly! Amazon? I’m not really sure. I’ve been quite dizzy this year. I think I won’t let Christmas come.

      • 51 Anja December 11, 2013 at 22:34

You cannot stop Christmas. Many have tried and failed. You have 2 weeks from today :)

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 14:37

        Would you help me?

      • 53 Anja December 12, 2013 at 18:34

        Help you stop Christmas?

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 23:33

        Please? FEF refused.

  12. 55 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 9, 2013 at 18:17

It is a wonderment time of year, Duketh.

Me too, filled with my favorite poems of Winter.

Punchy because the professor encourages them all so well.

    Oh Nappy, do be careful.

I’m not sure but let’s try it, shall we. :D

    • 56 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:16

      I think you’re right, Audith.

Boxes filled with poems. I can’t see it.

I do not encourage them! The professor merely exists.

He won’t be, though. Not that he’ll be on the front lines.

      Yes, you make it.

      • 57 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 9, 2013 at 21:38

        I’m not always right.

Cigar boxes work nice for that.

        Yes, I forget.

Making it for the grumpy professor…

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:28

But the professor is always righter.

        I knew you smoked!

        Grumpy?!

      • 59 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 10, 2013 at 15:20

        :D I like when I’m right.

I do not smoke!!!!! What ever gave you that idea? One can obtain a cigar box without smoking the cigar’s first, you know.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:53

        Which doesn’t happen often.

I didn’t know. How is this possible? Ooo, Audith is a thief!

      • 61 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 11, 2013 at 02:35

        You are mean.

A bit of shopping and a box can be found.

No, sir, not one of those either.

Why don’t you just wait for me outside a door and trip me as I come through. Such name calling, I’d rather physical humiliation. To steal you words… laugh me to scorn.

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:02

Oh dear. The professor is sorry…I think…

The professor is a gentleman so he can’t trip ladies….

      • 63 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 11, 2013 at 20:36

Smoker and a thief. ..wow. :)

And I am a lady, Sir. *bump my hip at you and you go rolling*

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 21:48

        Rolling? What’s that indicate?

      • 65 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 11, 2013 at 22:47

Isn’t that what one does when they fall over..roll? I was thinking of bumping your very hard. Not that!!!

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 14:40

Very hard? You’re very cruel, madam.

      • 67 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 12, 2013 at 15:22

No just looking for a reaction. ;)

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 15:33

        Still cruel.

      • 69 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 12, 2013 at 15:35

        I’m so sorry. Forgive me?

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 23:30

        Maybe…okay…yes…not.

      • 71 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 13, 2013 at 03:04

Please… ( I’ll be much nicer in the future)

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke December 13, 2013 at 15:45

        I don’t believe it.

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke December 12, 2013 at 23:31

You bring out the worst in me, I fear….

      • 74 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 13, 2013 at 02:58

The worst? :( Should I go?

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke December 13, 2013 at 15:45

No, I like when you bring out the worst.

      • 76 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 13, 2013 at 16:47

        You do, why? Hmm

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke December 14, 2013 at 00:25

Because I like being wicked. And sometimes I need help to do it.

      • 78 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 14, 2013 at 00:28

That might be the nicest thing I’ve heard in a long time.

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke December 14, 2013 at 00:35

Oh dear. I didn’t want to be nice.

      • 80 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 14, 2013 at 00:37

        Thats why I said it.

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke December 14, 2013 at 00:52

        :P

      • 82 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 14, 2013 at 04:07

        Stop that, Duke

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke December 15, 2013 at 21:48

        Okay. :P

      • 84 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 15, 2013 at 21:57

        :P :P to you

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke December 15, 2013 at 21:59

      • 86 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 15, 2013 at 22:00

Poor poor pitiful, you. I don’t buy it…no not at all.

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 13:43

  13. 88 Jazzy Couldren December 9, 2013 at 16:08

Old Merr is really stupid. Why would you done let him write the proverbs?

    I like Shnodgrate better…. :}

    • 89 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:12

Shnod called off sick. Who else could I get? You???

      • 90 Jazzy Couldren December 9, 2013 at 21:02

        :}

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:27

        I dig that face.

      • 92 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 00:16

Actually that might have been quite amusing…

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:31

Maybe I’ll let him write one, then.

      • 94 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 15:22

‘A woman in the hand is worth two in the bathtub’?

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:54

In hand? I think this is nice. Is it a proverb?

      • 96 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 20:57

Completely original and absolutely not plagiarised from the oddly similar ‘A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’ – total coincidence!

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 23:58

Never heard it, and you’re making fun of me.

      • 98 FictionFan December 11, 2013 at 14:07

Must be a Brit expression then – sorry! Making jokes would be so much easier if Americans only spoke the same language as us…

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:06

Could be my dull head, too.

  14. 100 Debbie December 9, 2013 at 15:43

Yeah, I finally understand BOTH proverbs — and totally agree as to their wisdom! Perhaps Merlin is more down-to-earth?!
Wooden, ornamental boxes, huh? Well, okay. I guess that works. I’m sure you included that bit of info for a reason, though. Are we supposed to know if those boxes are empty or filled (and with what??)
I don’t think I’d care for spicy hot chocolate. But then, I’m a purest, I suppose, preferring LOTS of marshmallows melting happily away in a steaming cup or mug!

    • 101 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:58

I’m addicted to marshmallows. I like to put the little fellows on a plate and zap them in the microwave oven for about ten second. Mmmmmm.

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:11

Oh, I bet that’s good. I must try the recipe.

      • 103 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 20:34

Don’t put them in for too long – they tend to get set in stone sort of.

      • 104 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 20:34

And it’s especially fun when they are marshmallow chicks or bunnies.

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:25

That sounds tasty, I must say.

      • 106 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 15:35

        :)

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:59

        :D

      • 108 portergirl December 10, 2013 at 12:10

Oh yes! Delicious. I also like them with mashed banana :)

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:33

That sound so good! You must make some for me. :D

      • 110 portergirl December 10, 2013 at 14:34

        Of course I shall :)

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:48

        Many thanks!

    • 112 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:08

I think he is. Do you think him rather brilliant?

Oh, there doesn’t have to be anything in them. The professor just likes boxes. (What do you think could be in one?)

      That does sound good!

  15. 113 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:29

“The wind blows and you have no choice but to go with it–unless you go indoors.” And close the windows. If you don’t close the windows, you will still have the wind blowing.

I think that I can say that both proverbs are equally true and delightful. Bring Merlin in more often – I can understand what he’s saying.

    Fancy boxes or plain?

Well, someone must be punchy. It may as well be them.

I dunno about the chocolate. I like most chocolate, especially deep dark chocolate.

    • 114 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:33

 That’s true, Susan. I think Merlin could benefit from hearing that. (He’s a bit wacky, you know.)

Is he better than Shnod?

Well, as long as it’s wood, it doesn’t matter. Usually fancy, though.

That’s true. But wouldn’t you say your Punchyish now?

      Better than white?

      • 115 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:53

I think it would be good to have them share that glory of the proverbs. :D

Moi? Punchy-ish? Sir, I am aghast. Such a thought.

I like white chocolate, but it isn’t true “chocolate.” In fact, if you have a Russell Stover’s white chocolate easter bunny, do not, I repeat do NOT stand between it and me.

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:09

But Shnod wouldn’t like, would he?

        Sorry! A possibility, I thought.

 Really? George might take it, though.

      • 117 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 20:38

Since when did we learn that Shnod is so sensitive?

George had best not even think about my white chocolate bunny.

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:26

        Isn’t he sensitive?

Goodness. Neither will the professor, then.

      • 119 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 15:36

        Wise man.

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:59

        Only sometimes.

      • 121 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 22:33

Given how many never are, you can be the one-eyed man.

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 00:03

        Okay. I like that.

  16. 123 ladycheetah7 December 9, 2013 at 15:03

I have never had spicy hot chocolate but I would think it would be delicious. I can tell you from experience chocolate and crispy bacon is yummy.

    • 124 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:13

      You mean, just regular chocolate?

      • 125 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:29

        Maybe it’s irregular chocolate?

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:33

That sounds right to me–for some reason.

      • 127 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:54

        Okay, moving on now.

      • 128 ladycheetah7 December 9, 2013 at 15:46

Regular chocolate is delish. I would be interested in trying spicy chocolate.

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:08

        It’s good–if I recall correctly.

  17. 130 FictionFan December 9, 2013 at 14:42

Poor Shnoddy! I hope he gets better soon (he could hardly get worse…)

No 2 is itself wonderful, inspiring wonderment in me that we have at last a proverb that makes sense and inspires!

Do you keep your collection of Giant Worm trophies in them?

A very profound statement from Mr Kirk there…

Generally speaking, the Scots join in when the French attack England – an auld tradition. Tell Nappy to shout out if he requires assistance…

    Delicious, I should imagine…mmm, hot chocolate. There’s a thought!

    • 131 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:13

 You’re so wicked at times…

Well, wouldn’t it be something if Mer took Shnoddy’s job?

      :D That’s a professorish secret, actually.

It’s like talking to a pretzel–talking to the Punchies.

Haha…there’s an opening for leader of Scotland. Now, you could rule through the professor if you like, since I have good friends at the court.

      The professor just had some.

      • 132 FictionFan December 9, 2013 at 15:26

Well, this may surprise you, but I’d miss the befuddled old fool…

        Hmm…old love letters?

I haven’t chatted to many pretzels myself – I never like to get too personally involved with something just before I eat it…

I’m not sure – the Professor doesn’t always do as he’s told! Though there are historical precedents for dealing with unruly regents…You’ll need to wear a kilt, of course, or the Scottish army won’t take you seriously.

FF’s just about to have some…

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:31

I think you actually like Shnod. Maybe you’d dance with him. Who knows…

No. The professor is very unromantic remember. I’m a hardened, brutal warrior.

 Your wit is charming, my dear.

But since the professor is always righter, you shouldn’t need to worry about it. A kilt? Isn’t that a fancy skirt?

That’s great. Pour a mug for me, too, please.

      • 134 FictionFan December 9, 2013 at 15:54

I’m rather particular about who I dance with, you know! Shnoddy would be so busy being incomprehensible my little toesies would be in constant peril, I fear…

Ah, but the letters would be from admirers – warriors are so irresistable…

Yes, pop over to Punchy Scotland and tell the army that they’re wearing fancy skirts…I’m sure you’ll be warmly received…

        No, you’ve already had one.

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:11

        V. is a very serious gentleman. (Just wear steal tipped boots.)

        Like Hector. He’s rather glorious.

It’s not my fault they dress like women, is it?

That’s cruel. The professor should be allowed two.

      • 136 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 00:28

So…there I am at the ball, in my ballgown, steel tipped boots and buzz cut, and Darby happens to be looking for a partner…hmm! I feel my chances are not great…

        a) Didn’t Hector wear a skirt? b) I bet his walk isn’t as glorious as the Professor’s though…

They dress like hardy warriors, just as they fight! And not many women of my acquaintance wear daggers tucked into their socks…(Is the Professor jealous?)

        No!

      • 137 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:32

Maybe not for him, but I’d dance with you no matter what! :D

 He did, you’re right. But…but…but…he had a cool sword. (He rode on a chariot mostly.)

He could be. Do you wear a dagger in your sock?

        Why not?!

      • 138 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 15:28

Awww, you’re not just the sweetest – you’re the smoothest! I’d rather dance with you than Darby anyway…

Too late to backtrack…anyway claymores are cooler. (Gloriously?)

No – contrary to popular belief, I am not a male Sergeant-Major in the Highland Light Infantry…

Because you were rude about the kilt… :P

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:57

The professor would be honored. At least, Darby can dance.

Claymore? Now that does sound neatio. (I think so, yes. He was a glorious sort of chap.)

 Who believes this? BUS? (You should get a dagger for your sock, though.)

But you think they’re funny too!

      • 140 FictionFan December 10, 2013 at 21:11

But would he make me laugh?

Scottish warriors are the best. Do you know that 12 Scotsmen once defeated two whole companies of the cowardly English – by scaring them off with their bagpipes? An (almost) true story…

Look! I do not wander about wearing kilts and dadblamed socks! And carrying a dirk in one’s handbag simply isn’t done…

        I’m allowed to, since I’m Scottish… ;)

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 00:01

        Who? The professor or Darby?

        Well, that’s the English…try to do that to Americans. :D :D :D

You don’t wear socks? Sandals, like Darby? (Why isn’t it done? Pepper spray? Mace?)

Well…well…I don’t give a hare’s front teeth about it, then!

      • 142 FictionFan December 11, 2013 at 14:12

Darby! The Professor always makes me laugh – a greater skill than knowing dance steps…

Most Americans are Scottish anyway. 75% of US presidents can claim Scottish descent – lucky America! ;)

I don’t wear sock with skirts, no – not being a cheerleader! (For some reason, we Brits don’t normally carry weapons – we must be braver than Americans…)

The hare will be very pleased to hear that!

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 18:08

:D No, I doubt he could ever make anyone laugh, I fear.

You don’t say! How cool is that. We are lucky–especially if all Scots are as witty, intelligent, and creative as FEF!!!

You don’t? I fear I’m showing professorish ignorance. I’m not sure what is worn with a skirt, in truth. (Probably, yes. Most are cowards.)

        He should be!

      • 144 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:31

Scotland may have to throw off the chains of its current ruler. Where is Brave Heart when you need him? Oh, wait…he didn’t end well.

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 15:33

        Isn’t that a dragon?

      • 146 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:54

        Brave Heart?

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:11

Yes, I thought that was the one.

      • 148 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 20:35

        William Wallace. Aye.

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:25

William Wallace nothing! No match for Hector–especially when he runs riot.

      • 150 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 15:35

        Maybe, maybe not.

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:59

        :P

      • 152 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 15:59

        Righter or lefter?

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2013 at 20:12

        Always righter.

      • 154 Susan P December 9, 2013 at 20:33

        But not politics.

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 14:25

        Hmm…even then?

      • 156 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 15:34

I don’t know. What were we talking about again?

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2013 at 17:59

How the professor is always righter.

      • 158 Susan P December 10, 2013 at 22:32

Oh, right. Except I am left-handed so I can’t play.

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2013 at 00:02

I am too…so…this is getting so confusing.
