Edition 15

Section A. Punchy Proverbs Competition:

(1) Trees are Manly; they never change their place. ~ Manly-Man

(2) Don’t go about searching for others’ approval; all that matters is that you have your own. ~ V. Shnodgrate

(3) The rain is a good thing; it brings food for some, and drink for others. ~ Merlin

Now, PF, who wins? Which proverb is the best?

““““““““““““

Section B. Something you should know about the professor:

He really wants to change the picture on his desktop, but he likes it too much to do so.

““““““““““““

Section C. What the PL’ers have to say:

A short conversation:

MR. RATHERQUITE: Sir, you are rude and very crude. Did I tell you that?

SCHWARZ: Don’t know if you did or not, but I don’t care. Chickit!

MR. RATHERQUITE: You should accept others’ criticisms with joy.

SCHWARZ: I don’t accept my own…so…why would I accept yours?

““““““““““““

Section D. Breaking News:

Jazzy Couldren’s wife and daughter lost their lawsuit. Mr. Couldren gets off without paying a cent.

Professor VJ Duke was arrested in France for his suspected part in smuggling poisoned fish into the country from England.

(NOTE FROM THE PROFESSOR: It is a lie, PF, a complete lie. The professor would never be so wicked.)

““““““““““““

Section E. Featured Story: Professor Duke’s Arrest
by J. Freedwoppen

After Napoleon, Emperor of France, signed a trade embargo against King Arthur of England, Arthur had poisoned fish smuggled into France in an attempt to “destroy” the emperor.

The plot was foiled when one of Napoleon’s food testers dropped dead.

Professor VJ Duke was arrested for his supposed part in the plan, and is awaiting his trial.

(As a side note, last time I visited Professor Duke, he said that he was attempting to break out of jail. He was almost sure that he would be sent to the guillotine–even though he is quite innocent.)

““““““““““““
Section F. From the professorish mind:

Guillotines are scary, wouldn’t you say? In fact, the professor would rather take on these merciless beasts than face the chopper.

Have you ever noticed that your favorite song sounds the same every time you hear it?

I think (2) is the best. Shnodgrate sure knows his way around proverbs!

A dilemma indeed. I haven’t changed my desktop picture in ages. I’ll try to change it for a moment and then I’d miss the old one right away.

Too bad the wife and daughter lost the lawsuit. Any chance for an appeal? Justice must be served.

I’m sorry to hear the professor was arrested! I’m sure it’s just a mix up. A complete lie indeed! I reckon someone might be framing the professor! and yes, guillotines are scary (oddly enough I just finished listening to an audiobook about the French revolution…)

Weatherly would be more than happy to orchestrate prison break. ;)

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:10

      He definitely does! :D

      Me too!!!

But I do feel bad for MM.

Haha, any guillotines? (It was definitely a mixup.)

      Weatherly is great!

      • 3 Hazy December 31, 2013 at 12:48

Haha, yeah, there were definitely guillotines and some heads rolled. (Glad to hear it was just a mixup!)

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke December 31, 2013 at 20:19

        That sounds professorish!

  2. 5 portergirl December 17, 2013 at 12:48

I am rarely without my bowler, Professor.

I’m not sure I believe you about the nuns. They have a malevolent air about them.

MM – yes! You should rescue the Professor. Try wearing a hat for added manliness :)

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:39

      Good for you!

      Well, dadblame them, then!

      Yes, MM!

      • 7 Jazzy Couldren December 17, 2013 at 19:04

        A hat??? I doesn’t understand that…

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:13

        Your head’s too thick.

      • 9 Jazzy Couldren December 18, 2013 at 02:51

        Maybe I could crack yours like a coconut. :}

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:43

        Be nice, would you?

  3. 11 ladycheetah7 December 17, 2013 at 01:34

Been meaning to get on all day, but you know how it goes when people act like there is so much to do and there really isn’t.

This proverbs competition is totally wicked! I love them all, but alas, I must choose one. Well, I will say Proverbs #2 would win first place. especially since I had a challenging day and confirms that other people’s insecurities are not mine to bear. Trees are totally strong and yes I agree rain brings food for some and waters for others. Very wise.

So PVJ, you have been accused of attempted murder. Did I read that correctly? Well, in the event you are not able to represent yourself, I found this bit of information for you: http://www.lawyers.com/

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:39

Well, it’s a good thing you picked Shnoddy’s, or he might have been upset. I thought Mer and MM did a rather good job, too.

 Many thanks, but I’d fail miserably at that, and I don’t think I’m allowed a lawyer. And I know you believe I’m innocent.

  4. 13 The Dancing Rider December 16, 2013 at 22:00

Proverb #2 of course. Otherwise, I would not be able to exist! Proverb #3 is a close second though. And you know why — my soft spot for Merlin, and that it is true!

Had to laugh at the professor wanting to change his desktop picture, and why he cannot. Must admit, it is scary that I understand that!

Oh, Schwarz. I hope he didn’t think he was being philosophical at all. How doltish! But then again, Mr. Ratherquite really might want to think about saying such things to Schwarz (not that he’s rude and crude, which he is, but making that judgment about accepting others’ criticisms….).

My! The professor arrested. I do think it is possible, not that the professor is wicked, but that he might do such a thing for a good reason.

Of course the professor would rather take on penguins than a guillotine!

(LOL – of course my favorite song sounds the same. Otherwise it wouldn’t be my favorite.)

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:36

 So glad you picked #3. Now, Mer is an entertaining fellow, I agree.

Haha, I know. I’ll forever have Yosemite Falls up, I suppose.

 Schwarz is a bit…doltish at times. (Oh dear.) Now it would be interesting to see Mr. R have that conversation with Mer.

      Yes, that’s it! I am innocent though…

But penguins are vicious, you know.

That’s the dadblame pity about it. Eventually one will just get sick of it.

  5. 15 bardictale December 16, 2013 at 20:37

Oh, number 2 for sure, though 3 isn’t bad at all.
Do you need a good lawyer, professor? Or…dare I offer…assistance?

    • 16 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:26

      Ah, good for you!

Well, I’m not sure Nappy would listen to a lawyer…would you spring me out? :)

      • 17 bardictale December 17, 2013 at 16:56

How about a bard? Would he care for a nice, heroic epic about himself?
        Shhhh. There’re spies everywhere.

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:12

        Yes, I would!!!!

      • 19 bardictale December 17, 2013 at 21:43

Well then, we have a plan. Sit tight.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:41

        Okay!

  6. 21 Sonya Solomonovich December 16, 2013 at 19:21

By the way, I came across samples of DS’s voice in this song… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc_Wj-z-X-w
You can hear him at the 0:35 mark!

    • 22 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:39

 He’s having a good time, isn’t he?

      • 23 Sonya Solomonovich December 16, 2013 at 19:56

Lol yeah I think he enjoys singing.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:24

He does…Friday you might see some more.

      • 25 Sonya Solomonovich December 18, 2013 at 20:45

        That’s exciting! :)

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 21:54

        :D

  7. 27 Debbie December 16, 2013 at 19:15

Oh, my, Professor, say it isn’t so — arrested? Impossible! Surely you’re just as innocent as a newborn babe.
As for the Proverbs, I’m leaning toward #2. It seems most foolish to run around chasing others’ approval.
Regarding your desktop picture, you could start by changing it for a few minutes every day and see how that sits with you. If you’d like to change, of course (some don’t!)

    • 28 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:37

I am! But I can’t convince the emperor of it.

Yes, yes! You must pick it. Do you?

Well, I think I want change, but I’m not sure. I should try what you suggested.

      • 29 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:14

Laws, Professor, you do get yourself into the worst predicaments.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:27

I know! It happens all the time. That’s why you’re here to help me.

  8. 31 Sonya Solomonovich December 16, 2013 at 18:45

This calls for a good old fashioned swashbuckling rescue. I’ll help you escape, professor!

    • 32 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:34

Thanks, Sonya! It’s such a dadblame cell too.

  9. 33 Anja December 16, 2013 at 18:27

Arrested? My best friend is an attorney if the professor needs helps.

I enjoy the proverbs however the first is wrong. Trees that last the longest may not move but know how to bend during hard times. A woman knows how to bend and not break. She knows when to go with the wind and when to stand tall. :)
    What’s wrong with penguins

    • 34 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 19:22

      I’s think you is confused.

      • 35 Anja December 16, 2013 at 21:53

Nope. Pretty sure I’m of a clear mind.

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:32

You know, I’d reckon you are too.

      • 37 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 23:40

        :} I don’t done know ’bout that.

    • 38 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:34

Well, Nappy is a dictator. It wasn’t my fault, you know.

So, that means you like #2 the best, right?

They’re vicious. I think they want to peck my eyes out.

      • 39 Anja December 16, 2013 at 21:55

I believe you at innocent. :)

        Uh yes?

        They are sweet fellas

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:33

        :D Thanks!

Great choice. It was the right choice. It was the professorish choice.

(They’re always trying to peck my eyes out.)

  10. 41 weggieboy December 16, 2013 at 16:57

Nr. 2, for sure! “Know thyself!” (But not: ‘No’ thyself so others don’t have to do it for you!

    • 42 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:47

      Nice point, WB!

  11. 43 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 16, 2013 at 15:34

#2 is truer than true. #3 My favorite, hands down, exactly.

Change is good, go for it. You really should.

Those two are at it again?

    I beg your pardon. ..

Polleeeaasse..as if the professor would allow it. He has cat like reflexes.

I like how they always look ready for dinner and a show.

I can’t get the song out of my head!

    • 44 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:34

No!!!!!!!!! You must choose #2, dadblameit, dadblameit, dadblameit!

They’re always at it, you know.

      You mean to eat?

      What song?

Are you going to spring me from jail?

      • 45 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 16, 2013 at 16:43

I was just checking!!!!! Of course I choose #2. Why would I ever need to answer such a question. Should be written in stone somewhere..Audith chooses his words always. You have lost your faith in me, Duke.

Yes, should get some swords out.

        To eat…

        That’s what she said.

Yes, let me get my gear. I can’t believe you’d get yourself into a mess like this in the first place. Tisk tisk tisk..I should have known.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:44

I think you were having a moment of weakness, Audith.

        A lot.

        Would you eat them?

        Dadblameit!!!

        The professor’s fault it isn’t.

      • 47 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 16, 2013 at 20:14

What’s this moment of weakness you speak of? Aud’s never been been given the opportunity to try. I think my appreciation for the proverbs proves that I would never choose someone else’s. *slams the door shut*

And we all know you have lots…

Would I eat the penguins or the poisoned fish? No. What a strange question..

!!!!!! You didn’t share your song, why should we?

I’m deciding to let you wait it out a while, orange just may be your color, professor. I figured you were a convict.

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:25

*opens it and gives you a flower*

        :D

The penguins. Of course, you’d have to get past their beaks.

        Maybe Friday? Na.

Red is, actually. And you’re being mean.

      • 49 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 17, 2013 at 14:47

        What kind?….

Sharp beaks don’t scare me either.

        Yes… *tilts her head*

        :) Red
        I know, I’m sorry.

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 16:02

        A Carrion flower.

        Well, good for you!

        Always red!

      • 51 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 17, 2013 at 16:49

Always thinking outside the box, Duke. I like that. I accept.

I know! (Are you screaming again?)

        Always red.

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:11

        I never scream; always holler.

      • 53 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 17, 2013 at 20:25

        Is hollering like yodeling?

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:39

No! The professor does not yodel, madam!

      • 55 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 18, 2013 at 14:14

I guess wrong that time.

BTW..your flower stunk up my classroom. Stinkiest flower ever. Rotting flesh…? Seriously.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 21:45

In truth, it is my favorite flower. Have them all over my office. This way, I never need to take a shower, since I smell good all the time.

      • 57 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 19, 2013 at 02:43

No you don’t…do you honestly? Real ones? I’ll have to keep an eye out for one. See if it really stinks the way it’s described. They are beautiful flowers, professor.

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 14:43

        They are!

      • 59 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 17:47

Rule #1: the Professor is always at fault.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:47

        Why?

      • 61 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 19:18

That’s easy. Because it’s the rule.

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:38

I’m not in favor of this rule, you must know.

      • 63 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:46

        Talk to DS.

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:32

        I shan’t.

      • 65 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 14:32

Do you want me to talk to him? He is, after all, in my head now.

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 16:01

        You’re only allowed to sometimes.

      • 67 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 16:31

        You’d best warn DS then.

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:10

If you’re tough with DS–like Pav is–you’d be amazed how he’d listen.

      • 69 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 21:28

        I am a teacher (retired).

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:41

        What did you teach?

      • 71 Susan P December 18, 2013 at 14:48

        “Off with your head! “

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 21:49

I hope some of your students are still alive.

      • 73 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 02:22

Quite a few of them are alive and on Facebook. Though I suppose someone else might be masquerading as some of them.

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 14:42

Hmm…that’s interesting. The professor isn’t on facebook.

      • 75 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 15:18

Susan wouldn’t be on FB except it’s the way I keep in touch with former students, Portuguese friends, family that live at a distant, and friends that live at a distance. My guess is that at least 2/3 of my friends I know in real life.

You may not be on there, but there is someone who has a page titled Duke VJ and is described as an actor and director. The page was started on March of this year. But the picture doesn’t look like you.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 16:14

Hmm! That’s fascinating. I think I may have a reason soon for getting FB.

 No, that’s not me… Goodness. The professor isn’t an actor or director.

      • 77 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 16:53

        And not a humorist, either

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 23:29

Ooo, I’d like to be, though. Am I?

  12. 79 Jackie December 16, 2013 at 15:31

Oh dear! The breaking news is troubling to say the least! Arrested? I do hope you have a good lawyer, Professor!

    • 80 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:32

Well, they won’t let me have one. I’m innocent. Are you going to save me?

      • 81 Jackie December 16, 2013 at 16:39

How strange – they won’t let you have a lawyer but they will let you access your blog? I would love to save you but I have no idea how! Do you know who implicated you?

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:43

        I’m doing it on the sly… ;)

Yes, by sight only. He walks around in a wig and high shoes.

      • 83 Jackie December 16, 2013 at 18:06

        Interesting!

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:33

        It definitely is.

  13. 85 L. Marie December 16, 2013 at 14:44

My vote is for the first proverb. It’s very manly. And um Professor, are you really a felon? Say it isn’t so! Do you have a good lawyer? Hopefully it’s not Daddy Salami.

    • 86 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:30

What?! You have to chose #2! You must!!!

No, I’m quite innocent. Don’t you believe me? Maybe you can spring me?

      • 87 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:36

Wait!! They want to feed the Professor to the fishes?

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:28

        I hope not! Goodness.

  14. 89 Painting Pundit December 16, 2013 at 14:22

I have to go with Merlin! Schwarz is right on! Can the professor continue with the Punchy Lands stories from jail?

    • 90 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:25

It’s to be hoped that he can.

      • 91 Painting Pundit December 16, 2013 at 14:26

Maybe Daddy Salami and company can do a jailbreak!

      • 92 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:44

        I could support that !

      • 93 Painting Pundit December 16, 2013 at 14:46

        Could be fun to watch!

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:31

No, you must come and do it yourself.

      • 95 Painting Pundit December 16, 2013 at 16:38

Only if lots of French cuisine is available and no poisonous fish!

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:42

Well, there is the food, and the fish…I’m not sure. They’re trying to feed me fish, actually.

    • 97 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:24

Merlin? Isn’t Shnoddy way better? We must pull for him, you know!

      Schwarz is!

I think so…maybe you’ll come bust me out?

      • 98 Painting Pundit December 16, 2013 at 16:40

Shonndy is on his own. I’m still with Merlin. A daring rescue?

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:43

Yes, I think so. Merlin? Oh dear. Shnoddy will be mad.

  15. 100 elprice2013 December 16, 2013 at 14:12

I vote for #2. It’s my favorite and it reminds me of this past weekend.

And I have noticed that odd fact about songs.

    • 101 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:23

      Indeed.

    • 102 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:24

Great! It’s the professor’s favorite. You see, V. is the principal writer of proverbs, but some family members don’t like his proverbs. So this week was a bit of a contest. I’m rooting for V. myself.

I know: very strange. I wish they’d change it up a bit.

      • 103 elprice2013 December 18, 2013 at 10:40

Would it still be your favorite if they changed it up a bit?

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:43

Oh dear. That’s true. It is such a predicament.

  16. 105 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 13:52

Merlin wins! (MM has clearly never met an Ent, then.)

If the professor is conspiring with England against France, then I fear that means he has also betrayed Scotland – no wonder he was so keen to get control of the army last week. It is with great regret that I say – Off with his head!!! I do hope, though, that they make sure the guillotine is nice and sharp so it only takes one slice…

    • 106 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 15:35

      Oh, didn’t you done hear? I’s killed all the Ent’s years ago. I’s thought they were overgrown ants… :}

      • 107 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 16:39

Ah, if memory serves me right, Saruman also thought he’d got rid of the Ents, and look what happened to him!

      • 108 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 17:42

        But he wasn’t manly.

      • 109 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 18:03

You make a valid point – he really wasn’t! OK, your proverb comes equal top with Merlin’s then…with Shnoddy trailing far behind…

      • 110 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 18:05

        :D

    • 111 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:22

What about Shnoddy? You’ll make him cranky, you know… Should have known you’d pick Merlin.

 You’d betray the professor just like that? I did say I was innocent. And…and…England was against Scotland, I thought, which means I was helping Scotland.  I told you that you’ve threatened to kill me once…this makes twice.

      • 112 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 16:47

Sorry, but Shnoddy came a poor third. I don’t agree with his proverb at all. But then going by what he says he won’t be looking for anyone else’;s approval anyway. MM came a strong second…

Excuse me, but twas the Professor who betrayed me! Or at least Scotland, which is the same thing! If he is innocent, then I beg his pardon, but I’d need to hear all the evidence…all criminals claim they’re innocent. England is against Scotland, so if you were helping England against France, then…

I’m not threatening to kill you (they don’t let me operate the guillotine unfortunately), and will be sad to see you go   , but it seems like a fair punishment for a heinous crime…I hope you’ve left a decent stock of Friday skits though…

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 17:46

Well, he’ll be mad, and I’ll catch it–if I get out of jail.

        Very nationalistic, aren’t we?

I think you’d like to see me go…but not the skits. But that’s Mic anyway.

      • 114 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 18:01

Oh, just carry your katana, and you’ll be fine!

Yes, we are – and as the independence vote approaches we’ll probably get even more so… ;)

How can you think that? What would I do without my dear C-W-W? Seeing as you and …ahem…Mic are so alike, you could do a Tale of Two Cities, and get him to stand in for you at the guillotine…it would be a far,far better thing than he has ever done…

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:33

        :D That’s true.

Oh, you must let me know how that goes. I’m interested, and I probably won’t hear a thing. Dadblame newspapers.

  Very well done, FEF! Maybe I will. (I think that, because sometimes you are very mean to this poor, dull professor.)

      • 116 FictionFan December 16, 2013 at 22:41

        It’s not for ages yet – September – and the No’s will win… :(

You should – Mic deserves it for trying to take all the crdit for the Professor’s hard work. (I can’t be, because I don’t know any poor, dull Professors.)

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:37

I would love to sit down and have you explain the whole thing to me. That would be fun. I will be rooting for you.

        I can’t say anything, I don’t think. Poor Mic…

  17. 118 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 13:09

I like number one the best, but sometimes trees do move. When they do, you don’t want to be standing in their way.

I don’t know what to say about the desktop. I had one that I liked a lot but it disappeared. There was nothing else I wanted on it so I just changed it to plain old MS blue background.

Yeah, I can imagine that short conversation. Those two are like oil and water.

How can we be certain that you are telling the truth, Professor? After all, wouldn’t it be to your advantage?

    What law suit?

    • 119 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 13:11

The guillotine – wow that would be the unkindest cut of all.

Actually it depends on which of the voices in my head are singing. Some of them sing off key on purpose.

      • 120 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 13:12

Why do you feel like the penguins are dangerous? I even read a story once about a penguin who lived in a refrigerator.

      • 121 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 13:51

        Just look at those beaks!

        Really?

      • 122 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:30

Yes. Mr. Popper’s Penguins. Written in 1938 and was made into a movie in 2011.

      • 123 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:25

        How was the movie?

      • 124 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 19:02

I did not see the movie, but youngest daughter’s students, second graders, told me about it when we were reading it for enrichment. They said it was different from the book.

The book kind of plods along – kids in second grade in this era are used to a lot of action.

      • 125 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:35

Action is good. Hector running riot is great action, you know?

      • 126 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:39

So you say…we need a video to evaluate your skills.

      • 127 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:29

But then you’d have nightmares. Unless we got a double.

      • 128 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 14:25

I had a nightmare on Saturday night. But it had nothing to do with you or Mr. King. It was a phantom from a Doctor Who episode. That will learn me.

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 15:59

I do feel a bit bad for SK. Yes, it will!

      • 130 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 16:29

        :D

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:09

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 13:51

        Wouldn’t it, though? How horrid.

 Off key’s the best. Reminiscent of DS.

      • 133 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:30

Does that mean he’s getting into my head?

      • 134 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:26

        Good thing, isn’t it?

      • 135 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 19:03

Are you sure you want that? I mean, if we should join forces…

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:35

 You wouldn’t let him take over would you?

      • 137 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:40

Ye cur, shut yer dadblame mouth.

        (mmfffmmmffff)

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:29

  Well, you were likened to Susan Pepperoni….

      • 139 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 14:26

        :D *giggle*

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 15:59

        :D

    • 141 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 13:51

You like MM’s the best? Goodness dadblameit!

Did you try and find it again? Was it a picture of the professor?

      I think you’re right

Well, what do you think? If you were the judge, how would you rule?

      The bathtub thing.

      • 142 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 14:37

I did look again. It was a desktop filled with gorgeous roses in a moving display.

Oh the bathroom thing. If I were the judge, I would dismiss the charges for lack of evidence.

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:27

Roses? Wouldn’t you have rathered mushrooms.

        That’s because you favor MM.

      • 144 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 19:05

No, no mushrooms. My mouth likes them, but the rest of me protests.

I do, in fact favor MM. It’s always good to have an MM around.

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 19:35

        Really? I love mushrooms.

It is–even if he is a bit dull at times.

      • 146 Susan P December 16, 2013 at 21:41

That is the persona he tries to project.

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 13:30

You act like I’m an actor or sorts.

      • 148 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 14:30

And your point is what? a pencil?

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 16:00

My point is, the professor is…never mind!

      • 150 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 16:30

        Never ever ever give up.

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2013 at 20:09

        Not ever?

      • 152 Susan P December 17, 2013 at 21:25

I suppose not. What do you think?

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 13:41

        I think I agree.

      • 154 Susan P December 18, 2013 at 14:35

Then we are in accord. :P

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2013 at 21:48

Yes, but I don’t like being in accord.

      • 156 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 02:20

        How about a Mercedes?

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 14:42

        No, a vette please.

      • 158 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 15:07

        Can’t argue with that.

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 16:10

Of course you can’t argue with the professor.

      • 160 Susan P December 19, 2013 at 16:53

But I can and I might.

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2013 at 23:28

        Hmm….

  18. 162 portergirl December 16, 2013 at 13:04

The proverbs are all so wonderful! I think possibly (2) is the most true, but I love MM’s view on trees. I cannot help but agree.

If the Professor needs breaking out of jail, I am sure I could raise a small band of miscreants to assist…

Penguins look scary. They remind me of nuns, who I am convinced are inherently evil.

    • 163 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 13:49

      Well, you must chose one!

:D I just might need that. Twould be great. Thanks for the offer.

 There is something about nuns, isn’t there?

      • 164 portergirl December 16, 2013 at 13:53

Then I choose (2). It is a better proverb. Even though I am a big fan of MM, as you know.

Any time, Professor! I would travel to the end of the land (any land!) to come to your assistance.

I have a long standing phobia of nuns. Completely irrational, I know. It is the only thing I truly fear.

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:23

Haha, I do know, for sure. But you chose the professor’s favorite!

The professor is truly honored. You’d have to come in your bowler’s hat.

Well, it’s a good weakness, since nuns aren’t too vicious.

      • 166 Jazzy Couldren December 16, 2013 at 15:34

        I’s glad that you like my manly proverb. Maybe I’s should help set little prof free…:}

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2013 at 16:32

        Yes, that would be nice.
