The “Punchy” Christmas Song

Dear PLF,

I can’t begin to express my gratitude and thanks for your loyal support this year! The Punchy Lands has gone in a direction that this professor didn’t foresee. (And I always foresee such things, you know.)

The PL blog will be celebrating its first anniversary sometime in April 2014.

It has been a great run, and we look forward to new Punchy “things” in the new year.

We shall see you in 2014!

Once again, many, many, many thanks for your support. PF, you make this all possible.

On behalf of MicP Studios, and the whole PL team, we’d like to leave you with one last video: The “Punchy” Christmas Song.

Best wishes,
P. VJ

(By the way, I managed to escape jail with the help of Mark Malone.)

So, does this mountain glory mean we have to wait for spring to spy on the PL?

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:44

Haha, no. The professor is running horridly behind. I was going to start again today, but….the internet decided to die. I have a very limited connection, and the professor has been suffering from the flu…I do apologize!

      • 3 Susan P January 6, 2014 at 18:23

Oh noes. Hoping you are feeling much better and soon.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke January 7, 2014 at 18:34

        Thanks, Susan! :D

      • 5 Susan P January 7, 2014 at 20:28

        De nada, Professor.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke January 7, 2014 at 21:55

I’m not really sure what it means. Anja might though.

      • 7 Susan P January 7, 2014 at 21:59

It means “It was nothing.” Sometimes they say, Não tem de que.” Portuguese version of “you are welcome.”

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke January 7, 2014 at 22:08

Oh, I see. Thanks, Susan. I love learning Portuguese. :D

      • 9 Susan P January 7, 2014 at 22:17

There will be a test on Friday…

Are you cutting back to three days a week now? I wouldn’t blame you a bit. You put a lot into these posts.

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke January 8, 2014 at 14:25

        Ooo, the professor hates tests.

Well, I’ve been thinking on it. What do you think? I’d love some suggestions. I thought 5 could be a bit too much for everyone. And I thought that it might free the studio up a bit more, but I’m not sure.

      • 11 Susan P January 8, 2014 at 15:01

I don’t know if five are too much, but I think it is a lot of work for the studio given the variety of topics and fun stuff you are always coming up with. Artists need time to breathe in order to be able to recharge and renew their creativity. Otherwise, sooner or later, they burn out. So, that’s just what I think.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke January 8, 2014 at 16:10

Thanks, Susan. You definitely make sense. Now the professor will need to do some thinking…

      • 13 Susan P January 8, 2014 at 17:34

Sounds like doing some thinking is a good idea. :D I wouldn’t let DS in on it though.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke January 8, 2014 at 21:48

That’s right. It would muddle up the thinking process. Though I must say, it’s already in a bad place.

      • 15 Susan P January 9, 2014 at 13:46

        :D

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke January 9, 2014 at 20:08

  2. 17 Jackie January 1, 2014 at 00:15

Happy New Year Professor! I hope the new year is filled with lots of punchalicious moments for you and yours! I’ve enjoyed your posts and being apart of the PF and I look forward to more in 2014. 8-)

    • 18 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:42

Thanks, Jackie! The professor has enjoyed having you about!

      • 19 Jackie January 7, 2014 at 02:18

Thanks Professor! It’s nice it know you feel that way. I just read that you have been ill and your internet connection died- oh dear that’s not very good at all. You poor thing! I do hope things improve for you soon.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke January 7, 2014 at 18:35

It’s been dadblamery, for sure. Thanks for the good wishes, Jackie. I need them.

  3. 21 Nancy Loderick December 31, 2013 at 20:39

    Well Professor,

What a great way to end the year. Here’s to a very happy and healthy 2014!

Happy New Year! I hope your 2014 is swell!

    • 24 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:13

You too! Have a Punchyish time! (if you want to)

  5. 25 MissTiffany December 27, 2013 at 20:57

I love it! The background was, if I may say so, very nice. I hope the Professor and all the characters of the Punchy Lands had a wonderful Christmas and will have a happy and blessed New Year!

    • 26 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:12

You too, Miss T! Great having you at the PL this year!

      • 27 MissTiffany December 30, 2013 at 17:47

Thank you! Glad to be here!

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke December 31, 2013 at 20:19

        Awesome!

  6. 29 Hazy December 27, 2013 at 03:52

A very punchily catchy Christmas song! Wonderfully amusing vid, as always.

Looking forward to the first anniversary. I bet it will be a great celebration! (Thanks Mark Malone for helping the professor escape jail, that was very awesome of you)

A Merry Christmas to the PL team and PL family! Enjoy the holiday break. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year ahead. :D

    • 30 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:12

      :D Many thanks!

(If he hadn’t helped, I’m sure Weatherly would have!)

      You too, Hazy!

      • 31 Hazy December 31, 2013 at 12:58

(Weatherly most definitely would have. I wonder, was it a challenge to break out of prison in PL? The professor must tell the tale of the prison break someday.)

        Thank you! :D

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke December 31, 2013 at 20:20

You’re right: I should! Must think on this. It was somewhat challenging.

      • 33 Hazy January 2, 2014 at 15:02

Oh, goody! Looking forward to it. I’m sure the escape was quite an adventure!

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:43

        It sure was!

  7. 35 The Dancing Rider December 21, 2013 at 21:42

Merriest of Christmases to you, dear Professor, and all at the MicP studios, and in the PL’s!

Love the song, glad you got out of jail, and so look forward to reading more in the New Year! :)

    • 36 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:04

Thanks, DR! Hope you had a great one, too. And have an awesome New Year.

  8. 37 Debbie December 21, 2013 at 02:22

Congratulations on finding the right advocate/attorney! Happy Christmas, Professor, and we’ll catch up with you in the New Year!

    • 38 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:03

Absolutely! Have a great season! (Tell Dallas to relax a bit.)

  9. 39 portergirl December 20, 2013 at 23:28

Well! Rejected in my festive wishes by both the Professor and MM! What is a girl to girl to think!

    • 40 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:03

      • 45 portergirl December 31, 2013 at 21:03

Oh Professor, you tease me now :)

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:42

        The professor never teases. :)

      • 47 portergirl January 6, 2014 at 17:45

  10. 49 Anja December 20, 2013 at 22:21

Merry Christmas my dear Professor :) What a wonderful video and loved the singing. Is Elvis really hiding in PL? Hmmmm
So happy to have met you…well you somehow found me first and then I stalked you over here. Love all of our conversations scattered in so many places. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas….New Years…and whatever else your heart desires.

    • 50 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:03

Did it sound like Elvis or David Bowie?

Our conversations were great! Thanks for keeping my mind ordered. You have a great Holiday Season too! (Enjoy traveling within a couple hours of the professor.)

      • 51 Anja December 21, 2013 at 17:31

        Hmmm leaning towards Elvis.

You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure. (Should I swing by for tea)

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:03

        Elvis? Oh dear!

        Cherry tea?

      • 53 Anja December 30, 2013 at 15:17

        You don’t like Elvis?
        Sure….I like all tea. Almost

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:20

No, I like Elvis… I’m just surprised that…he…sounds like him.

        Even chocolate tea? Yucketh!

      • 55 Anja December 30, 2013 at 16:07

        That’s how I heard it :)

Don’t yuck when you wanted ht chocolate not too long ago.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke December 31, 2013 at 20:19

You’re not supposed to remember that.

      • 57 Anja December 31, 2013 at 20:24

        Oooops….

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:41

        :D

      • 59 Susan P December 24, 2013 at 14:11

        Elton John?

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:05

        Over Elvis?

      • 61 Susan P December 30, 2013 at 22:03

No, not really. Though his shoes are intriguing.

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke December 31, 2013 at 20:19

        Hmm…

      • 63 Susan P December 31, 2013 at 20:45

A long time ago, in a country not my own, I was learning how to be a bus tour manager. One of the places we visited was a show museum, and Elton John’s shoes were right in the display window along with the witches Ruby Red Slippers.

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke January 6, 2014 at 17:42

 What a site that must’ve been!

  11. 65 Brenda December 20, 2013 at 22:03

Greeting and Salutations to Punchy Land!! Loved the music! Rocking snowman! I don’t think you said Merry Christmas. :-)

    • 66 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:01

Thank you, Brenda! You’re right, I didn’t… But, Merry Christmas!

      • 67 Brenda December 21, 2013 at 17:37

LOL Lots of laughter and fun for you, and lots of wishes come true, Brenda

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:04

Have a great New Year, Brenda!

  12. 69 Sonya Solomonovich December 20, 2013 at 19:34

What a beautiful and punchyish song! Schwarz sounds like a sea lion — which is not necessarily a bad thing :)

I’m so glad the punchy lands have had such a successful year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, professor and punchy family!

    • 70 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 20:38

      You’re right. He does!

      Merry Christmas, Sonya!

  13. 71 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 20, 2013 at 19:05

:D How many times can a girl listen to this video and not go crazy? (All morning as I packed.) I’ve loved watching the snowflakes against the red backgroud. Simply gorgeous. The band was fierce. ..the bass at the beginning, forget about it. Speechless. And the song itself…so cheery. I like this side of the PL.

All those Merry Christmas’ from the PL twas like hearing from family. I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Well done, well done…

Merry Christmas, Duke. Enjoy your time away. You will be missed…

    • 72 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 20:38

Audith, that made the professor’s day. :D So glad you enjoyed it.

Well, you are part of the PL family. And we’re proud–and lucky–to have you! :D

Merry Christmas yourself. Have a great time.

      • 73 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 20, 2013 at 21:17

And you made mine. I will try to refrain from listening to it all the way home. :D

Thank you, Duketh. I’ve enjoyed myself. (We’re not debating who may be more lucky, could get ugly, you know.) ;)

I will! Keep in touch. I command it.

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 14:59

No! Listen away. Sing it while you sleep.

        (The professor is already ugly.)

Definitely! Don’t go away, Audith. I’ll see you in the New Year. Well, posts will start in the New Year, since I’m already seeing you now.

      • 75 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 21, 2013 at 15:08

I am. How did you know?!!

(No. I’m sure the professor’s mind, at the very least, is beautiful.)

I am posting when I can. Where are you??? :D Let’s listen together, shall we!

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:10

        I didn’t!

(You’d be shocked if you saw the professor…)

You mean in the US? (Oh no, I’m sick of that beast. So much writing, recording, and agh!)

      • 77 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister December 21, 2013 at 15:19

        Haha.

        (I’m sure I would.)

No, I think you told me once. Massachusetts, maybe? Was joking around that you were here somewhere. (Well I’m not sick of it.)

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke December 30, 2013 at 15:03

PA, actually. But keep it a secret.

  14. 79 ladycheetah7 December 20, 2013 at 17:28

How nice. Your blog has been fun and engaging. Thanks to you I have recently finished four books and working on book five. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
    O:-)

    • 80 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 20:35

Thanks, Lady, :) Have a great Holiday Season. Glad I’m helping you with reading…FEF is helping me…

      • 81 FictionFan December 20, 2013 at 21:32

 Cheeky Chicky! No slacking over the break now – I’ll be expecting book reports in the new year… ;)

(I hope Santa brings you the Complete Works of Jane Austen.)

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2013 at 15:00

Yes, can’t wait to sit down and read more of KSM uninterrupted. Ripping reports? The PL might be structured a bit differently.

        (I’d murder him.)

  15. 83 L. Marie December 20, 2013 at 16:35

I’m so glad you’re out of jail. That’s a relief.
I nearly choked to death laughing at Schwarz’s solo during that Christmas song! I blame you and Schwarz for that.

    • 84 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 20:35

 Sorry! But I thought a Schwarz solo would hit the spot. Glad you’re okay, though.

  16. 85 Jackie December 20, 2013 at 16:18

Wonderful to hear you are out if jail Professor! I hope your Christmas and New Year are punchalicious! 8-)

    • 86 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 20:34

      You too!!!

  17. 87 omtatjuan December 20, 2013 at 15:14

    Happy Holidays to the crew…

    • 88 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 15:27

Thanks! Have a great–in the words of Bud Parker–time. Not sure that made sense, though.

  18. 89 elprice2013 December 20, 2013 at 15:01

I am delighted to hear you got out of jail. I’ve heard it’s a horrible place for Christmas spirit!
This song had me grinning from ear to ear and I have a feeling that it will probably last all day!
Merry Christmas to everyone in Punchy Land!

    • 90 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 15:27

It was dreadful, for sure! Thanks.

Merry Christmas to you (and family) as well!

  19. 91 Susan P December 20, 2013 at 14:36

Perfect! I’m glad you got out of jail – was worried about you spending the holidays in there. Thank you for this amazing presentation so in tune with the PL. Wishes for a happy Christmas and the best year ever in 2014. All of you have truly enriched my life.

    • 92 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 15:26

Thanks, Susan. :) It wasn’t a nice jail either.

That’s such a nice thing to say! You’ve helped define the PL. Thank you. Have a great Holiday Season. (I think we’ve had way too much fun.)

      • 93 Susan P December 20, 2013 at 16:07

You can never have too much fun. And thank you for the encouragement.

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 16:11

Well, you might be able to have too much professorish fun, you know. I think it’s happened to me a few times.

      • 95 Susan P December 20, 2013 at 16:14

        Can’t imagine. :p

  22. 101 FictionFan December 20, 2013 at 14:09

Merry Christmas, team, and have a good hogmanay! :D

    • 102 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 15:23

 That’s what I thought! Great singing voice, though. ;) I do feel bad that Frankie couldn’t start it, but he was having a bit of trouble.

Merry Christmas, and don’t let BUS stuff you!!!

  23. 103 portergirl December 20, 2013 at 14:08

Wonderfully festive, Professor! I feel all Christmassy now :)

I wish you and all the PLers, and the Punchy Family a fabulous Christmas and New Year. I look forward to a very Punchy 2014.

Here, have some hugs and kisses xoxoxox – ’tis the season, after all!

    • 104 Professor VJ Duke December 20, 2013 at 15:22

      Great! Punchyish Christmas, for sure.

And we wish you a fabulous Holiday Season as well!

Well, I don’t know. Hugs and kisses are very unprofessorish–but I’m sure you can hug and kiss MM as much as you’d like!

      • 105 portergirl December 20, 2013 at 22:09

Well! If the Professor doesn’t want my hugs and kisses, I will be happy to shower them on MM. It is Christmas. I must hug and kiss!

      • 106 Jazzy Couldren December 20, 2013 at 22:21

I’s doesn’t want no stinky kisses. They is unmanly!
