Love the music, and Fats’s title…..lol.

I like Olmes’ cunundrum. Perhpas it serves him right for attending a Sleuth’s Union event? Wondering who his partner may be. Not that they will have many cases!

(and the ending……….the very end, after the skit) :)

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:52

      :D

Probably not. Do you think DS will be nice to his partner?

      Did you like it?

      • 3 The Dancing Rider February 24, 2014 at 14:55

I LOVED it. Could DS be truly “nice” to anyone?!?!?!?

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 15:07

:D Many thanks, DR! No…well, isn’t he nice to Ruber?

      • 5 The Dancing Rider February 24, 2014 at 21:59

Sigh. Really? I don’t think he’s too nice to Ruber a lot of the time! :/ But secretly DS probably has a soft spot for Ruber, right?

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 22:42

Yes, I would think so. He’s extremely protective of him, you know.

  2. 7 technophile9 February 23, 2014 at 15:42

Very interesting… Maybe Olmes will pair with Mastermind. :P

    • 8 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:52

Would that be a good mix?

      • 9 technophile9 February 24, 2014 at 22:23

        Certainly potent. :P

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 22:44

        Which is good?

  3. 11 Hazy February 23, 2014 at 08:33

Sleuths! I like sleuths. But the sleuth union is a bit… unfair? I wonder what will become of Olmes in such a small town.

Great work you guys, and warm regards to Mr. Pencilpoint. :)

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:52

Probably something horrid. It is unfair for sure. Scary too.

Thanks, Hazy! I’ll pass it along.

      • 13 Hazy February 25, 2014 at 13:11

        Great! Thank you! :)

  4. 14 PorterGirl February 22, 2014 at 12:57

That was super. Shame to here about Sherlock Holmes being killed off, but I see their point. I can’t wait to see who Olmes’ partner will be, and what cases they get in that tiny village. What happened to Ratson, by the way? I must have missed his untimely demise. Oooh this is exciting!

    • 15 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:38

Ratson’s last film role was in “The Riddle Game” I believe.

Olmes will definitely do something interesting. I too wonder who he’ll get for a partner.

  5. 16 Jackie February 22, 2014 at 10:41

Olmes is a rapscallion! I’m sure the village will not be as quiet once he arrives.

    • 17 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:38

      Mischief will brew!

      • 18 Jackie February 24, 2014 at 14:39

        That comes as no surprise!

      • 19 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 15:03

        No, not really. :)

  6. 20 Painting Pundit February 21, 2014 at 23:17

Can’t wait to find out how DS fares in the village! The plot was rather juicy and agree with Susan P about letter groups interest. But I laughed out loud at DS’s dilemma!

    • 21 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:15

Haha, Susan does have a point, I fear. Will DS be able to handle it, do you think?

      • 22 Painting Pundit February 22, 2014 at 02:34

I don’t know! He may have met his match in those guys. Will be fun to watch!

      • 23 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:33

        It will be interesting!

  7. 24 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 21, 2014 at 21:21

Ooo, I like the idea of sending him to a small secluded town. Oh the trouble that will come…! (Love Holmes)

The child’s voice was done very well! I loved the ending…after waiting and waiting to be told they’re closing…haven’t we all been there. Ugh!! :)

    • 25 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:13

But will DS be able to handle it?

 Vexation indeed! But you would have done something differently, right? You and the professor would have stormed the place!

      • 26 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 22, 2014 at 04:25

Well he usually sneaks his way out, so yea, he’ll be fine. Maybe a new scar! ,)

What do you mean? What differently? Oh, yes!! We’d been all over customer service. Feisty red heads don’t play, Duke. :)

      • 27 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:37

        Haha, that does sound right.

Yes, that’s what I mean. I could see us attacking the place to get what we want!

      • 28 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 24, 2014 at 16:45

Audith never leaves without that which she comes to get!!! ;)

      • 29 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 21:26

That sounds nice. Too bad you didn’t come for the katana.

      • 30 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 24, 2014 at 22:09

I should come for the katana and its keeper. :) Then look for trouble.

      • 31 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 22:43

        What would you do?

      • 32 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 24, 2014 at 23:53

I don’t know…maybe nothing. Or everything. :) I’d have think. I’m not good at making up stories. That’s your department.

      • 33 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2014 at 17:56

        Does my department sell clothes?

      • 34 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 25, 2014 at 18:57

        I’m sure it does.

      • 35 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 00:22

        :D

  8. 36 Angeline M February 21, 2014 at 16:28

Daddy Olmes appears on the surface to have been put in his place (so to speak) by the ICSU, but I have a feeling not. I am sure he will rise to the occasion.

    • 37 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:46

I think you could be right. Do you think he’ll declare war?

      • 38 Angeline M February 22, 2014 at 05:38

In some fashion, yes! He won’t stand for small town life.

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:37

        That’s very right.

  9. 40 CarissaMarie February 21, 2014 at 16:09

Most entertaining indeed! :) It seems like something I could get into!

    • 41 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:45

Greetings! Awesome to have you. Do you think Olmes was being unfairly picked on?

      • 42 CarissaMarie February 21, 2014 at 23:58

        A bit, yes

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:17

If the professor was in such a position, I’d probably say, “Dadblameit.”

      • 44 CarissaMarie February 22, 2014 at 16:21

        Dadblameit, love it!

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:39

Isn’t it a great cuss word?

      • 46 CarissaMarie February 24, 2014 at 18:09

        It certainly is!

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 21:29

Do you think you might use it?

      • 48 CarissaMarie February 25, 2014 at 16:34

        Perhaps I already have. ;)

      • 49 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2014 at 18:18

        Well…tell me for sure, dadblameit!

      • 50 CarissaMarie February 26, 2014 at 17:10

LOL, I have used it. :)

      • 51 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 18:27

I’m both proud and honored! Many thanks.

      • 52 CarissaMarie February 27, 2014 at 16:30

        :)

  10. 53 L. Marie February 21, 2014 at 16:09

Love these adventures of Daddy Olmes!!! And Schwarz was wonderful too! :-D

    • 54 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:44

Thanks! I think Schwarz might have stolen the show. But DS might get Schwarz for this…

  11. 55 Tonia February 21, 2014 at 16:06

Oh me gosh..i couldnt wait for Friday and this endearing piece to arrive. They are darling creatures and I Wuv them Wats! Such precious voices!

Still dont have a favorite. Although Olmes does seem to strike me heart a bit more.

But, i look forward to the mystery that I feel is about to develop somewhere…?… in a small village?….i hope there are caves in the village. anywhere there are caves, i feel at home. :)

    • 56 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:44

      Many thanks, Tonia!

But you must pick a favorite! Well, not really. I’m just being bad. So, you like Daddy Salami? That’s a good pick.

      Do you like caves?

      • 57 Tonia February 21, 2014 at 22:11

Yes, they are the ideal living temperature and environment, ..for me. :)

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:14

But not a lot of light?

      • 59 Tonia February 22, 2014 at 02:56

yes, but you can bring light..and i love oil lamps and candles. My master bedroom is always kept dark but my livingroom is very suny. I dont know why I like the two extremes in my home. :)…maybe for differing needs. :)

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:33

        Extremes are good sometimes!

  12. 61 FictionFan February 21, 2014 at 14:26

Yay!! Olmes is back! And wasn’t my Schwarzy great?? He was always destined to achieve a position of power one day! Once again, he puts that cur-brain sausage firmly in his place…

But why is the creepy girl/child/thing not included in the casting?

    • 62 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 14:32

That’s a good question. Perhaps the Professor can sort things out for us.

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 15:35

It’s just a dadblamed loudspeaker. Do you really want to know more? (You mayn’t say: “I asked, didn’t I?”)

      • 64 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 18:04

        I asked, didn’t I?

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:56

        Rats! Didn’t I say–?

      • 66 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 21:16

Since when do you expect people to do what you tell them?

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:11

        I’m not sure… really…you tell me.

      • 68 Susan P February 22, 2014 at 17:02

As my dear old dad used to say to my mother, “One word from me and you do as you please.”

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:44

 That’s about the truth…but I’m not like that!

      • 70 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 14:53

        :D

      • 71 FictionFan February 21, 2014 at 17:55

Yes, because he always clarifies things so well, doesn’t he? ;)

      • 72 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 18:17

Snicker. I suppose in his professorish manner he does clarify things.

      • 73 FictionFan February 21, 2014 at 18:55

I’m pretty sure the people on his home planet understand him…

      • 74 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 20:25

You have a good point there, FF.

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:58

I did think it was rather clear… Not all voice actors I bring in can have profiles, you know. There. I explained it even more. Keep pressing me and…and I’ll–

      • 76 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 21:17

        You’ll what?

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:12

I’ll…send the apocalypse! And I’ll maybe explode. :) That’s rather dastardly.

      • 78 Susan P February 22, 2014 at 17:04

There will be no excursions of any kind in the PL until you get over this.

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:44

When will I be over it?

      • 80 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 14:55

Threatening apocalypses needs to be over now.

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 15:07

        Okay, I end it. Better?

      • 82 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 19:07

I am relieved. Maybe we can do that bus trip after all.

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 21:36

        Yes, take me, would you?

      • 84 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 21:38

I think we need a full coach if we’re doing that.

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 22:40

        Why the change?

      • 86 Susan P February 25, 2014 at 13:21

Because the PLers will want to go.

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2014 at 18:06

        How many?

      • 88 Susan P February 25, 2014 at 23:23

As many as we can get in the bus.

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 00:37

        Make a double level thingy.

      • 90 Susan P February 26, 2014 at 02:37

Now there is a champion idea!

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 18:13

Yes! And we’ll have to have mummies chasing us.

      • 92 Susan P February 26, 2014 at 19:14

More likely the law chasing us…:D

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2014 at 02:12

        Bah!

      • 94 Susan P February 27, 2014 at 02:33

        Grin

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2014 at 17:44

        :)

    • 96 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 15:34

But don’t you think he was a bit–just a bit–too mean to Daddy Olmes? I mean, consider what happened to Dr. Ratson…

Oh that? That’s just a loudspeaker.

      • 97 FictionFan February 21, 2014 at 18:54

Oh my Schwarzy’s much smarter than Dr Ratson! However devious and evil the suasage might be, Schwarzy will always win in the end. In fact, Schwarzy almost had his very own adorable evil little chuckle in this one…

Phew! I was worried it might be Mic!

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:58

Only almost? I’d say that was a first-rate Schwarz chuckle myself.

        Mic? Are you being mean?

      • 99 FictionFan February 21, 2014 at 23:58

Oh, it was! But Schwarzy’s soooo sweet it’s hard to imagine him as really evil…

        Yes.

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:18

What about House on the Haunted Hill?

        Don’t be mean. It’s unbecoming. :D

      • 101 FictionFan February 23, 2014 at 19:28

Haha! True! You just tempted me to go back and re-listen to it – brill! Daniel still has my favourite line though, when the scary death threat is made over the phone and he responds ‘Oh my! Who is this?’ Makes me howl with laughter every time…

Oh, being mean about Mic doesn’t count, since he’s…ahem…Mic…

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:53

 His reaction is priceless. Thanks, FEF.

        That’s not nice!

      • 103 FictionFan February 24, 2014 at 17:44

        :D

      • 104 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 20:29

        Not Mic. Anything but Mic.

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:59

Now why is this? You despise him?

      • 106 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 21:18

Well, I don’t what may be on FF’s mind, but if the Professor splinters himself into all of the official (and unofficial) attitudes, he might end up in a snow bank somewhere in the western mountains.

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:13

You don’t believe Mic’s real either, do you?

      • 108 Susan P February 22, 2014 at 17:05

No, I believe he is real. More like an alter ego or some such thing.

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:45

        I don’t know about that… Mic wouldn’t like it.

      • 110 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 14:56

Smiles probably wouldn’t either. Not under any circumstances.

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 15:08

        What meaneth thou?

      • 112 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 19:08

Word on the street is that you are all three and maybe more.

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 21:37

Me? How involved do you think the professor is?

      • 114 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 21:38

Some days, probably too much so. :)

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 22:41

        What does it mean?

      • 116 Susan P February 25, 2014 at 13:22

It means, dadblameit, one of these days he’s going to end up living in the PL.

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2014 at 18:06

        Maybe I do…

      • 118 Susan P February 25, 2014 at 23:23

How scary does it get there?

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 00:38

        It’s fun.

      • 120 Susan P February 26, 2014 at 02:38

        It doth appear so.

      • 121 Professor VJ Duke February 26, 2014 at 18:14

        :D

  13. 122 Julie Harris February 21, 2014 at 14:26

Poor Olmes… whatever will he do?! Btw- I love the voice of Mastermind :)

    • 123 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 15:33

I don’t know! Isn’t it rather horrid for Olmes? Mastermind is played by Marlin. :D

  14. 124 K. A. Brace February 21, 2014 at 14:19

Heavily rooted, or rutted, in a reality not of this establishmentary codicil–which can be found on the back pages of The Directory of Diletante Directors–Dumbfounded, Doubtful, Dewey, Chetum and Howe. A pleasant trip was had by all. Please remain standing until the vehicle comes to an abrupt warp in the fabric of space, otherwise known as the Shrewd of Touring. Thank you being who you are. • 125 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 15:33

 I think I understand, but I really don’t. What does it mean?

      • 126 deanthefish February 21, 2014 at 15:36

It was unfathomed by the fish as well…

      • 127 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:43

What do you mean, Mr. Fish?

      • 128 K. A. Brace February 21, 2014 at 16:44

Well… just fooling around. Wouldn’t have if I didn’t like your skit. I guess I could say the same thing about it, but somethingsd aren’t meant to be totally understood–like tiny doors in your head opening and closing. Best>KB

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:46

I understand. It did make the professor laugh–which is awesome! Do you think Olmes is going to get angry?

      • 130 K. A. Brace February 21, 2014 at 21:28

I think go to the littlle village and findout it’s loaded with criminals, then have to scurry around to find a partner–a partner who has been in a coma for 10 years–who of course will have to interviewed as well…Just a thought–he can’t go too fast because he’s not supposed to be too successful…>KB

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:14

 So true, KB… It seems like dadblamery, doesn’t it? What would you do in the situation?

      • 132 K. A. Brace February 22, 2014 at 13:49

Oh, I’m just a hack poet with a New Yourk wry sense of humor. I say take it where it leads, what will be funny. Much truth is said in jest. I would use that as your model–the truth and then get ridiculous… >KB

 You make the professor chuckle! And you’re a rather good poet.

Well I rather thank you then because I would rather thank you than castigate. Best>KB

Many thanks! But…what are you saying about the professor?

      • 138 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 18:03

I have nothing to say about this.

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke February 21, 2014 at 20:56

        You must!

      • 140 Susan P February 21, 2014 at 21:16

No, I really could not say.

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke February 22, 2014 at 01:11

        Why not?!

      • 142 Susan P February 22, 2014 at 17:01

Because I believe it is self-evident.

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2014 at 14:44

      • 144 Susan P February 24, 2014 at 14:52
