Tales and Stories: How They Decided To Take The Tour

Not far from Daddy Salami’s Hut, in the woods, Ruber Salami and Manly-Man were having speaks.

“So, here they are,” Ruber said, holding up a papery-type object, “me ticket, and your ticket, to a tour of Portugal.”

“Hey, dude,” Manly-Man said, “was they expensive?”

Ruber’s eyes got big. “So expensive I borrowed the money from me dad. He doesn’t know.” Ruber laughed. “The bloke was complaining about it yesterday, about how he “couldn’t find the goods.” Then he said something about getting it back. I don’t know what he meant.”

Manly-Man didn’t seem excited. “Let’s just hope this is fun…”

***

“Ladies,” Mr. Ratherquite said, “I’d like you to meet Fats Henry and Billy-Sue. They will be accompanying us on our tour of Portugal.”

“I already met your ladies,” Fats Henry said as he collapsed onto a sofa.

“Sir!” Mr. Ratherquite objected. “Don’t be rude and crude! It is proper to introduce the Ladies every time we meet.”

“I hope the tour will be fun,” Billy-Sue remarked.

“It better be!” Henry returned. “I certainly paid enough!”

***

“Well, Brother Bek,” King Arthur said happily, “Ruber Salami, Manly-Man, Fats Henry, Mr. Ratherquite and his Ladies, and Billy-Sue will be coming with us on the tour.”

Brother Bek nodded happily. “That’s great news, brother. Great news.”

“Yeah…” King Arthur said, a bit unhappily. “Do you think Mr. Magi is right?”

“About the tour being a scam?” Brother Bek asked.

Arthur nodded. “Yes.”

“Brother, have faith.”

THE PROFESSOR: I say, too bad I’m not going. Wouldn’t you like to go, PF?

Tell you what, there’s some amazing soccer during that tournament. Most European and S. American kids can kick a soccer ball before they learn to walk. But, at least when we were there, they couldn’t play basketball to save a life. They kept wanting to kick the ball. They do have professional basketball teams now, though.

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:24

That’s interesting. Well, I can’t play basketball either. Football is easier, I think. :D

      • 3 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:09

Don’t forget Cricket and British football.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:39

I don’t know the meaning of thums!

      • 5 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 16:57

        Ask FF

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:33

It must be strange out of America.

      • 7 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 15:37

Americans are strange out of America.

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:32

The Professor is probably strange in America.

      • 9 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 23:14

I feel strange in America a lot of times.

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 02:16

Yes, I’m glad to hear that! It’s wonderment!

      • 11 Susan P March 22, 2014 at 20:14

Is wonderment a flavor of chewing gum?

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:17

Haha, I think it could be!

      • 13 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 16:34

I wonder what it would taste like.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 19:52

        I’m not sure…

      • 15 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 20:20

        Sticky buns?

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke March 25, 2014 at 01:46

        No! It’d be minty…

      • 17 Susan P March 25, 2014 at 02:36

        Minty sticky buns? Eww

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke March 25, 2014 at 13:38

        That does sounds awful.

      • 19 Susan P March 25, 2014 at 22:06

I could like a white chocolate Russell Stoves Easter Bunny.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke March 26, 2014 at 00:22

        Could like?

      • 21 Susan P March 26, 2014 at 11:03

        Yes, I could. I can’t, though, because I don’t have one.

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke March 26, 2014 at 18:24

You know, Susan–don’t get cranky about this–the professor has which chocolate coins sitting on his desk. There’s many of them. And I can’t bring myself to eat them. I don’t like chocolate usually!

      • 23 Susan P March 26, 2014 at 19:24

What a dadblame waste of Chocolate.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke March 27, 2014 at 14:02

        Well, it should keep forever.

      • 25 Susan P March 27, 2014 at 19:57

Not if the worms get it.

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke March 27, 2014 at 23:52

        I hunt those beasts.

      • 27 Susan P March 28, 2014 at 11:57

        What beasts?

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke March 28, 2014 at 18:48

        Worms!

      • 29 Susan P March 28, 2014 at 19:50

        Worried worms.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke March 28, 2014 at 22:31

        They should be!

      • 31 Susan P March 29, 2014 at 13:05

You could feed them to the spiders.

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke March 31, 2014 at 12:22

        I would not!

      • 33 Susan P March 31, 2014 at 13:50

        Spiders got to eat, too.

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke March 31, 2014 at 20:30

They can have the moths, you know.

      • 35 Susan P March 31, 2014 at 21:18

Actually, one of the things they eat are their mates when they’ve served their usefulness.

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke April 1, 2014 at 02:11

        Females are mean, aren’t they?

      • 37 Susan P April 1, 2014 at 12:19

        No more so than men.

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke April 1, 2014 at 18:12

That’s not how I see it!

      • 39 Susan P April 1, 2014 at 18:16

We just are mean in different ways.

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke April 1, 2014 at 18:45

        Maybe…I suppose so.

  2. 41 bardictale March 12, 2014 at 12:03

    May they have good weather;-)

    • 42 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:34

Thank you, Bard. But I want it to rain on them!

      • 43 bardictale March 12, 2014 at 17:49

        Rain is good

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:13

        I agree. But it’s soggy.

      • 45 bardictale March 12, 2014 at 18:14

Only if you’re wearing something that can get soggy.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:16

        Well, what doesn’t for instance?

      • 47 bardictale March 12, 2014 at 18:17

        A diving suit!

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 21:47

That’s the spirit! I must needs get one…but where?

      • 49 bardictale March 13, 2014 at 04:09

At a shop where they sell diving gear? Maybe you could settle on a bathing suit.

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 13:16

But I don’t like bathing suits, Bard!

      • 51 bardictale March 13, 2014 at 18:50

In that case, you can always resort to using your birthday suit.

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:09

 Bard! You can’t be serious!

      • 53 bardictale March 14, 2014 at 07:19

        Why not?
Don’t tell me you go swimming in a suit and tie!

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 18:00

No…but…naked? I’m not sure…is it fun to do?

      • 55 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 17:03

I’m not the right person to ask, professor. I swim in a pair of shorts and a shirt.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 17:14

That makes sense to me. But what if no one was around? And the water was warm. I might, I’m really not sure. :D

      • 57 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 18:46

You’ll tell me if you do it, right?

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 20:20

        Would you like me to?

      • 59 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 22:34

        Tell me? Yes

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2014 at 19:12

        But…why, Bard? :)

      • 61 bardictale March 16, 2014 at 19:14

Not sure, really. Prehaps because it would make a remarkable tale~^

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2014 at 19:24

It sure would! I think it might be odd, too.

      • 63 bardictale March 17, 2014 at 05:25

Those are always welcome tales sir

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:48

But would they be a bit revealing?

      • 65 bardictale March 17, 2014 at 15:25

Depends on the way they are told. They could be.

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:23

Bard, you are full of common sense and wisdom. I appreciate having you about.

      • 67 bardictale March 18, 2014 at 04:43

        Thank you, professor.

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke March 18, 2014 at 12:45

        :D

    • 69 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 19:14

I saw the birthday suit response coming. LOL the Professor skinny dipping in the Atlantic ocean.

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:09

I didn’t see it coming, Susan! You should warn me. But Bard’s always looking out for me, you know.

      • 71 Susan P March 14, 2014 at 02:38

I tried to, but your phone kept saying that it was at the limit of the number of messages and it wouldn’t let me leave a message.

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:57

 Now, I do read my messages–sometimes.

      • 73 Susan P March 15, 2014 at 01:12

That’s what I thought. That does pretty much brand you as an introvert.

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 16:57

Well, I’m not sure… The professor is sort of, until he’s in a social situation. Then I make a fool of myself. :D

      • 75 Susan P March 16, 2014 at 20:46

It’s not about whether or not you can shine in a social situation. It’s about how you recharge your batteries. Harry is an extrovert and recharges at parties. I am an introvert and when I go to a party I usually talk to a few good friends. Then I go home and recharge.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:42

I probably think the professor is more like Harry that way. I should go to more parties, though.

      • 77 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:41

        Two party boys. Dear me.

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:48

That’s it: the professor is a party boy. I like that.

      • 79 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 17:11

      • 80 bardictale March 14, 2014 at 07:18

Hmm, I was picturing him doing the rain dance, but that’s more believable. Would you do it?

      • 81 Susan P March 14, 2014 at 16:10

I have done it, but it was a long time ago.

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 18:07

        Was it fun?

      • 83 Susan P March 15, 2014 at 01:16

        What do you think?

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 17:02

I’d imagine it wasn’t too strange–as long as one was by him or herself!

      • 85 Susan P March 16, 2014 at 20:44

I will write a blog post about it, and you can judge from that. I might need a series of blog posts about things I’ve done that no one might suspect. :D

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:42

Yes, that would be cool. It’s an interest, you know.

      • 87 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:41

Okay – maybe next week if I don’t forget.

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:48

        Okay! That’d be awesome.

      • 89 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 17:11

If I can stop crying for Wu long enough.

      • 90 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:43

        I understand.

      • 91 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 15:46

It’s a bit better. Susan has decided to turn off her phone and not answer the door and just chill for the day.

      • 92 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:40

I definitely understand. How’s Harry doing?

      • 93 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 23:21

Harry is bearing up – sometimes better than others. Teddy is suffering the most, I think. But he’s soldiering along.

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 02:22

And I hope Susan is bearing up, too. It’s tough, for sure.

      • 95 Susan P March 22, 2014 at 20:22

You have that correct, Professorish person. They tell me it gets easier….

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:30

        It does–with time.

      • 97 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 16:39

I’m not sure if it is easier to think about them or not, but definitely those of us are still here will never forget.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 19:57

        Very true.

      • 99 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 20:28

        :)

      • 100 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 17:02

        Cool. Was it fun?

      • 101 Susan P March 16, 2014 at 20:42

        Very much fun.

      • 102 bardictale March 17, 2014 at 05:25

        Perhaps I’ll try it then

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:41

        It is?

      • 104 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:40

        Under the right circumstances.

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:48

Don’t see what’s fun about it, dadblameit.

      • 106 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 17:10

Dude! You get to put your wicked on.

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:42

        I suppose so…

      • 108 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 15:45

Well, you shall judge after you read the blog post.

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:39

        Okay, deal!

      • 110 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 23:20

All right. I hope you are ready.

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 02:21

        I don’t see why not…

      • 112 Susan P March 22, 2014 at 20:20

        Where are you looking?

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:29

        What do you mean?

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 18:00

        Would you, Bard?

      • 115 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 17:02

Not sure. The water always seems too cold. Would you?

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 17:13

        I don’t know…depends on who’s there…right?

      • 117 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 18:46

I guess…more likely to do it if it’s only me.

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 20:20

Me too. The professor isn’t much of a swimmer, you know.

      • 119 bardictale March 15, 2014 at 22:33

Indeed? Why not? Getting wet isn’t your type of fun?

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2014 at 19:11

Well, I don’t mind it. But…the professor would probably sink. I’m better on dry ground, you know!

      • 121 bardictale March 16, 2014 at 19:13

Prehaps we all are. Do you like running through sprinklers?

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2014 at 19:23

Well…haven’t down that in ages. Why? What are you up to, Bard? *turns a skeptical, professorish eye on you* :D

      • 123 bardictale March 17, 2014 at 05:24

        Me? Nothing!

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:48

 Sorry! The professor can be a curious beast, you know.

      • 125 bardictale March 17, 2014 at 15:24

Hmm. But, I must have said something to make you think that I’m up to no good. What was it?

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:22

Well, if I admitted to running in sprinklers, what would you have thought of me? (I was just being wicked.) :D

      • 127 bardictale March 18, 2014 at 04:43

That you aren’t averse to getting wet. That you know how to have fun…truly, it doesn’t say that much about you.

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke March 18, 2014 at 12:45

Okay, then. The professor loves water guns! How’s that? :)

      • 129 bardictale March 18, 2014 at 22:21

I challenge you sir, to a water gun fight!

      • 130 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 00:10

I accept, Bard! That would be so fun, wouldn’t it? I’m such a terrible aim, too…

      • 131 bardictale March 19, 2014 at 08:19

Be prepared to be completely dampened!

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 14:09

 You know, I’m really bad at it. But I’ll bring some water balloons!

      • 133 bardictale March 19, 2014 at 14:24

Ah! Then I’ll have to build a fortress.

      • 134 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:18

Man! I wanna fortress, too. You’ll have to build me one.

      • 135 bardictale March 20, 2014 at 04:42

        Well, all right…

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 12:23

So accommodating! But don’t have any traps in it…

      • 137 bardictale March 20, 2014 at 17:17

You got me. Fine, no traps.

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:47

Goodness me! The mind of Bard! *smiling*

      • 139 bardictale March 21, 2014 at 06:47

*smiles back and offers a cup of tea*

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 17:18

        Oh yes, I’ll take some.

      • 141 bardictale March 22, 2014 at 17:08

        Not worried about poison?

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:15

        From Bard? Absolutely not!

      • 143 bardictale March 24, 2014 at 22:34

        Good to know^^

      • 144 Professor VJ Duke March 25, 2014 at 02:03

        Yes, Bard.

  3. 145 Jackie March 12, 2014 at 09:56

Wowawee!! Can’t wait to see what happens next! I’m guessing there will be lots of punchalicious dadblamery.

    • 146 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:34

Right on, Jackie. That’s what I’d be waiting for.

  4. 147 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 12, 2014 at 04:10

I must say that this trip will be full of interests. Very happy with the attendees, but you really should go, Duke.

My Magi sees all things, doesn’t he? I do hope there will be lots of laughs. And a tour guide. :)

    • 148 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:33

But what if something happens to me? Something dreadfully dreadful?

There is a tour guide, for sure. Maybe tears?

      • 149 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 12, 2014 at 14:56

What could happen? I don’t want anything to happen to you, Duketh. Maybe you should consider living in a bubble.

Tears? Well then I’ll wipe them. Pay no mind…

      • 150 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 17:51

 Now you’re mocking me! How could a warrior live in a bubble?

        Humph noodles!

      • 151 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 12, 2014 at 20:01

No I am not. Simply teasing you. It is a very strong bubble!!!!

You eat a lot of noodles. :D

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 21:51

Well, that does make it better…

        I love noodles, you know…

      • 153 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 13, 2014 at 02:41

See? You really should trust me, Duketh.

You do? Because they’re easy to chew? Are you missing teeth, Duke?

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 13:12

        Yes, well, from now on!

 How cruel of you, madam! I like noodles because I’m like Po.

      • 155 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 13, 2014 at 17:11

From now on is good enough, I suppose.

Po? Panda Po. Cuddly, too? Giggly? :)

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 21:50

Well…maybe. But I want the moves! Doesn’t he have cool moves?

      • 157 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 13, 2014 at 23:09

He has the best moves…and the greatest laugh!

      • 158 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:53

He sure does! He makes me laugh!

      • 159 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 14, 2014 at 21:22

        Me too… See? :D

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 16:55

        I think he’s me.

      • 161 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 16, 2014 at 05:11

I think I want you to be him, too. :)

      • 162 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2014 at 19:15

        :D

  5. 163 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:42

You need to sign up soon! You don’t want to miss this.

  6. 164 The Dancing Rider March 11, 2014 at 20:57

The only reason I’d want to go is to observe the others going. Lol. They probably should have listened to Mr. Magi. The expense! (And I fear for Ruber…..)

    • 165 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 23:07

I agree. They should have heeded Mr. Magi, for sure. (Why for Ruber?) That’s why I’d want to go, too, just to see the dadblamery!

      • 166 The Dancing Rider March 11, 2014 at 23:16

Oh, for Ruber? Because he stole money from Daddy Salami…..

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:17

Yeah, I agree. Do you think DS will find out?

      • 168 The Dancing Rider March 12, 2014 at 20:29

Well that is the question, isn’t it? If he does find out, good luck Ruber. :/

      • 169 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 21:53

I’d put my money on DS.

      • 170 The Dancing Rider March 12, 2014 at 22:17

I’m betting on DS right now! :)

      • 171 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 13:07

Yes! While DS is vindictive, I do think he cares for Ruber a bit.

    • 172 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:43

Well, DR, maybe I can get you a discounted fare. I have some frequent flyer points. :D

      • 173 The Dancing Rider March 12, 2014 at 13:35

lol. Erm, I may have to pass on that.

      • 174 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 13:39

No sense of adventure, DR.

      • 175 The Dancing Rider March 12, 2014 at 13:44

Just waiting and watching …. ;-)

      • 176 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 13:53

        Right then.

      • 177 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:28

 Susan, the skit is so dadblamery!

      • 178 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 16:08

You really shouldn’t be saying things like that if you expect people to sign up.:)

      • 179 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:08

Oh, that’s true! But I meant it was rather good. :)

      • 180 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 18:13

But, if the skit follows suit with the others it will be dadblamery.

      • 181 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:03

That’s true. That’s because the professor is full of it, I fear.

      • 182 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:14

Full of dadblamery? The Professor is the king of dadblemery.

      • 183 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:20

 That bad? Well…I like it lots, I think.

      • 184 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:36

        :D

  7. 185 Julie Harris March 11, 2014 at 20:30

I hope the tour will be worth their money :)

    • 186 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 23:06

Yes, so do I, but something tells me it probably won’t be…

      • 187 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:44

        O ye of little faith… :D

      • 188 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:28

Well, who’s behind it for one thing?

      • 189 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 16:09

All I can say is that everyone who goes will get his or her money’s worth of…erm, fun.

      • 190 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:08

Yes, yes, I second such a statement. Maybe I’ll watch from afar. We’ll all get to.

      • 191 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 18:13

I’ll be waiting for them to come here to Portugal.

      • 192 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:03

Stay safe! I hope Harry went with you.

      • 193 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:14

        He’s right here with me.

      • 194 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:20

        Awesome!

      • 195 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 23:15

        :D

  8. 196 FictionFan March 11, 2014 at 17:52

Well, I would quite like to go, but I can’t help noticing my Schwarzy doesn’t seem to be on the list. No Schwarzy and no Professor…hmm! I’m not sure…

I suspect Ruber may live to regret calling the Sausage ‘the bloke’…

    • 197 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:16

Yes, they’re not going–I mean, he’s not, and I’m not. Would you go if I was? Without Schwarz, of course.

      I think he might.

    • 198 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:45

Every now and then Ruber pulls the wild card. I’m depending on him.

      • 199 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:29

Ruber’s a wild sort of chap.

      • 200 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 16:09

You wouldn’t think it to look at him.

      • 201 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:08

Very true. he looks rather normal. Well…

      • 202 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 18:14

By the look of him, he looks like a respectable chap. But there’s this little thing about him living in the PL.

      • 203 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:03

What’s that mean for the professor?

      • 204 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:15

It means the professor should not turn his back to him.

      • 205 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:21

Yes, I wouldn’t. MM keeps him under control. They go way back. Before MM was MM.

      • 206 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 23:16

        That’s a loooooooooo way back.

      • 207 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:56

        It is!

      • 208 Susan P March 15, 2014 at 01:28

        :D

  9. 209 L. Marie March 11, 2014 at 16:15

I hope the tour isn’t a scam either, though I fear that it might be.

    • 210 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:13

Who would be behind it do you think?

      • 211 L. Marie March 13, 2014 at 13:08

Dr. Zauberer, Smiles Riot, or Daddy Salami. A nice twist would be if Mr. Ratherquite and the ladies were behind it all.

      • 212 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 13:17

All great guesses, for sure. That would be hilarious…Mr. R just seems to sweet, though.

    • 213 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:46

There is going to be a real tour and it is going to Portugal. How can that be a scam?

      • 214 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:29

Well, shouldn’t one worry a bit, bits, and little bits?

      • 215 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 16:10

You can worry about missing the flight…

      • 216 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:08

But I wouldn’t, ’cause I’d be flying it!

      • 217 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 18:17

That sounds kind of scary – you flying the tourists to Portugal. Do you have a licence?

      • 218 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:04

No, I don’t. It’s a good thing I’ll just be watching, then. Wouldn’t you like me to fly you?

      • 219 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:15

I’d dance with you. How about a nice Irish jig on Monday?

      • 220 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:22

Why Monday? I’m afraid I can’t dance at all. Never tried, though.

      • 221 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 23:17

Irish jigs aren’t really dancing. Because Monday is St. Patrick’s Day. Hello.

      • 222 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:57

They have to be! Oh, that’s right. I think I should remember such things.

      • 223 Susan P March 15, 2014 at 01:29

No no it’s a jig, not a dance.

      • 224 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 17:10

Not sure of the difference. I bet there isn’t one!

      • 225 Susan P March 16, 2014 at 20:40

Oh, Professor, you need to watch some Irish dancing. I recommend watching some clips from Riverdance. :D

      • 226 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:41

Could I Irish dance, do you suppose?

      • 227 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:37

Probably not if your knees are wobbly.

      • 228 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:46

Well, that’s that then. I’ll stick to sword fighting. Which, I’m sure, Harry would rather do, too.

      • 229 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 17:02

Harry’s weapon of choice is a baseball bat.

      • 230 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:39

        Which is an awesome choice.

      • 231 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 15:41

Unless he gets caught swinging it at the neighbors.

      • 232 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:38

*laughs* Just hit a ball through the window!

      • 233 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 23:18

He used to be on the church softball team.

      • 234 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 02:19

        I’ve never really played softball.

      • 235 Susan P March 22, 2014 at 20:18

I did – a couple of times. Was always worried the ball would hit me.

      • 236 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:27

*laughing lots* The professor hasn’t, that I know of.

  10. 237 Simply Skeptical March 11, 2014 at 14:30

Brother Bek sounds hilarious. Don’t you agree brother…I mean professor? How expensive is this tour anyway? I’m looking forward to the fun. I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about Portugal…

    • 238 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:12

Well…it’s rather, rather, rather expensive. Do you see what I mean?

      All true do you think?

  11. 239 ladycheetah7 March 11, 2014 at 13:18

PVJ, I think you should go because you just might enjoy yourself and learn something new or meet a distant cousin of the PL Family.

    • 240 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:12

      But what if I die?

      • 241 ladycheetah7 March 11, 2014 at 19:40

        Thou shalt not die.

      • 242 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 23:05

I must admit, that does sound convincing.

      • 243 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:47

        You wouldn’t die.

      • 244 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:30

How can you be so sure?

  12. 245 PorterGirl March 11, 2014 at 12:56

I so wish I was going! I went several times as a young girl and loved Portugal. I cannot wait to hear about the tour :)

    • 246 walt walker March 11, 2014 at 14:19

I would love to go (if it’s not a scam). I’ve been to Europe several times but never to Portugal. Portuguese is one of the most beautiful languages to listen to. My mother and grandparents speak a litte. They lived in Brazil for many years.

      • 247 PorterGirl March 11, 2014 at 14:57

I do hope it isn’t a scam, that would be so disappointing. It is a beautiful language, certainly.

      • 248 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:12

Would you take the professor along?

      • 249 Susan P March 11, 2014 at 23:48

Brazilian is to Portuguese what American English is to British English. But Brazilian is fun to listen to.

      • 250 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 14:30

I’ve never heard any! But I do no how to speak a little Portuguese! :D

      • 251 Susan P March 12, 2014 at 16:11

So you do, sir, so you do. Muito bem.

      • 252 Professor VJ Duke March 12, 2014 at 18:09

Does that mean… What does it mean?

      • 253 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 18:19

It means “well done.” Or, “Great job.”

      • 254 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:06

Now I’m wondering how it’s said.

      • 255 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:17

It’s a multi-purpose phrase. The Portuguese live in a small country, and have to conserve words.

      • 256 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:22

That makes sense. How are their beaches?

      • 257 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 23:18

The beaches are great – especially in the southern end.

      • 258 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:57

        I can only imagine. :D

      • 259 Susan P March 15, 2014 at 01:30

Well, full dress, as you might put it, is not required in European beaches.

      • 260 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2014 at 17:10

 Ooo, I’d forgotten about that. Well, they just don’t care about that sort of thing. Which may be kinda nice.

      • 261 Susan P March 16, 2014 at 20:41

Pretty well all of the babies run free on the beach so their teeth come in strong.

      • 262 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 14:41

        Is that the reasoning? Hilarious!

      • 263 Susan P March 17, 2014 at 20:39

Well, now, think about this, Professor. Vitamin D comes from the sun, and Vitamin D is also necessary for teeth to teeth to be happy.

      • 264 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2014 at 22:46

Now that you say it, it makes sense. Did you find problems with it overall?

      • 265 Susan P March 19, 2014 at 17:03

What? Naked kids running around on the beach? I got used to it. It was startling at first, though. And we never let our kids run around that-a-way.

      • 266 Professor VJ Duke March 19, 2014 at 22:40

I’m sure that would be startling.

      • 267 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 15:42

Well, no one told me prior to the trip to the beach or I would have been prepared.

      • 268 Professor VJ Duke March 20, 2014 at 22:38

They probably didn’t think of it.

      • 269 Susan P March 20, 2014 at 23:19

        I got warned about…erm…other things.

      • 270 Professor VJ Duke March 21, 2014 at 02:21

You know I’m interested as to what…

      • 271 Susan P March 22, 2014 at 20:19

I bet you are. You should just take a vaca in the Algarve during beach season. That would take care of your curiosity.

      • 272 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 13:29

        Now I’m scared.

      • 273 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 16:37

        Scared of what?

      • 274 Professor VJ Duke March 24, 2014 at 19:56

I don’t know. Of other things!

      • 275 Susan P March 24, 2014 at 20:23

        Pshaw.

      • 276 Professor VJ Duke March 25, 2014 at 01:47

        That’s like Artie Shaw.

      • 277 Susan P March 25, 2014 at 02:34

        That’s what I thought

      • 278 Professor VJ Duke March 25, 2014 at 13:34

        He’s the best.

      • 279 Susan P March 25, 2014 at 22:03

        Who is the next best?

      • 280 Professor VJ Duke March 26, 2014 at 00:21

        Hmmm….maybe Pete Fountain.

      • 281 Susan P March 26, 2014 at 11:00

        Why?

      • 282 Professor VJ Duke March 26, 2014 at 18:23

I like his Louisiana style–sometimes. And he handles the hight notes well.

      • 283 Susan P March 26, 2014 at 19:23

        I must needs visit him.

      • 284 Professor VJ Duke March 27, 2014 at 14:01

        He’s spicy!

      • 285 Susan P March 27, 2014 at 19:55

        :D

    • 286 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:11

You did? Coolio. Did you see a bullfight?

      • 287 PorterGirl March 11, 2014 at 19:12

No, do you think there will be one on the tour?

      • 288 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2014 at 19:21

Probably not. I might like to see one. How about you?

I think I would like to see one. Although I hear they are a little unfair to the bull!

Now that’s a coolio! I’d love that more than more!

Harry wants you to root for Futebol Clube do Porto. Their uniforms are blue and white.

      • 296 Professor VJ Duke March 13, 2014 at 22:07

Tell him absolutely. Do we get their games over here?

      • 297 Susan P March 13, 2014 at 22:29

Usually only for the worldwide tournaments.

      • 298 Professor VJ Duke March 14, 2014 at 17:43
