      • 12 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:13

        Well why for ever so?

      • 13 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:28

I don’t know. I was wishing you could tell me.

      • 14 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:34

*sigh* All I know it’s getting windy.

      • 15 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:39

        Oh dear.

      • 20 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 20:12

        Uh-ha. That’s right. Not good.

      • 21 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:25

        I don’t know. Any suggestions?

      • 28 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 18:08

Hmmm……Down by the river for clams?

      • 29 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 21:53

I don’t think the professor would like clams…

      • 30 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 21:58

*sad face* Too bad. LadyP would.

      • 31 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 22:08

        How would you open them?

      • 32 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 22:16

LadyP now has a headache from the nerve block the dentist gave her today. LadyP must lay down. Clams or no clams. :(

      • 33 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 15:44

Watch a movie and have some noodles in a soup.

      • 34 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 16:01

Too late. I just laid down and took some Homeopathy to calm my tummy down. I’m OK today. Jaw is sore but other then that OK. xx

      • 35 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 16:16

I just had tooth problems myself.

      • 36 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 17:57

So sorry to hear that. That is a real bummer.

      • 37 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 18:23

        For sure!

      • 38 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 18:29

        Are you?

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 12:42

        Are I what?

      • 40 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 12:48

I am the one asking you. If you don’t know, who does?

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:07

        You do.

      • 42 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 13:08

No, YOU do. You have it backwards!

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:11

        I always do.

      • 44 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 13:14

        *giggling*

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:37

        And I inspire fear.

      • 46 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 19:45

        [GIGGLE]

      • 47 Amy Pinkrose April 27, 2014 at 20:03

        *blinks* Who am I again?

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 14:44

        LadyP?

      • 49 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 14:54

        Yes? she replies …

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 15:19

        *offers you a top hat*

      • 51 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 15:28

I am truly touched. Very. Truly. Wow. A top hat? For ME???

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:07

        Yes, the professorish top hat!

      • 53 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:13

What did I do to deserve the top hat? *flustered*

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:28

        Rats. You don’t like it.

      • 55 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:34

        Not true! I LOVE it!

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:40

        Oh…Put it own, then!

      • 57 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:46

        OK OK! It’s OWN!

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:51

        Looking very nice there, LadyP!

      • 59 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 19:53

I think so too, Professor! I feel taller!

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:10

        And that’s a wonder.

      • 61 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 20:12

No you are the wonder, dear Professor!

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:25

Did you know I’m one of the wonders of the accent world?

      • 63 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 20:52

        Yes, I do. I know.

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 17:26

        One of the oldest ones.

      • 65 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 18:01

Couldn’t be. You don’t look it.

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 18:06

Oh no. I’m like Aargorn that way.

      • 67 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 18:07

        Really!? In what way?

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 18:08

        I’m older than I look.

      • 69 Amy Pinkrose April 29, 2014 at 18:09

        You must be preserved then.

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 21:53

Oh no. The professor has spoiled already.

      • 71 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 02:25

How can that be? You must smell terrible! Oh my!

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 16:00

Because his heart has fallen out.

      • 73 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 16:10

NO, no no! Not MY Professor? Does he need CPR?

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 16:18

No, he’s better heartless, don’t you think?

      • 75 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 17:57

        No, not at all.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 18:23

        :P

      • 77 Amy Pinkrose April 30, 2014 at 18:31

But why are you smiling? Don’t you mind?

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 12:42

        (I’m sticking my tongue out.)

      • 79 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 12:47

Ohhhhhh, Professor, you might want to think twice about doing that. Go read my post today. Hehehehehehehe Be careful that you don’t get burned. Tee Hee

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:07

        I’m heading over!

      • 81 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 13:08

Good. You are in for a treat. Oh are you ever!!!! xx

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:10

        Huff-Hum madam!

      • 83 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 13:13

You don’t like treats? Why ever not? Everyone likes treats!

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:36

        Not professors!

      • 85 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 19:44

        Your loss. My gain!

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:22

        Now I’m missing something.

      • 87 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 20:26

Treats? Is that what you are missing? Hmmm…..???

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:30

        Don’t you think?

      • 89 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 20:35

Are we doing this again? YOU are the Professor, not me. YOU know. YOU have the brain. Clear?

      • 90 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:41

I’m somewhat clearer than murky water.

      • 91 Amy Pinkrose May 2, 2014 at 15:06

Well that IS a relief to know! Thank you for explaining your condition.

      • 92 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 20:54

Yes! Now it begins to make sense, you see.

      • 93 Amy Pinkrose May 2, 2014 at 22:53

Most indeed it does. Clearer then muddy water. That is not too clear, not at all. Muddled. Befuddled. Just like a Professor is. And with bow tie, I presume?

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 18:55

        Yes! A red one!

      • 95 Amy Pinkrose May 3, 2014 at 19:16

A red what? Muddle? Hmmmm….*trying to picture a red muddle* …

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:34

        No, no, bow tie.

      • 97 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 13:31

Huh. But I thought all Professors wore one. No I am befuddled.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 17:33

        Isn’t it a wonderful feeling?

      • 99 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 17:59

Glorious at that. Now we can be muddled befuddled together like real pals. *grinning*

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:19

        Okay, then!

      • 101 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 20:39

        High 5, PAL!

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:29

        I forget how!

      • 103 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 23:37

*groan* The absent-minded Professor AGAIN? I just cannot go on. I’m done. Compoot. Stick a fork in me, I’m done.

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:38

        A fork? Over a spoon?

      • 105 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 23:39

Sure thing. Sounds doable. Don’t you?

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:33

        I don’t think so!

      • 107 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 12:35

Are we playin’ ping pong? If so, I’m winnin’.

      • 108 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:58

Yes, you are. I can’t play.

      • 109 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 13:04

        *pouting* Sore looser!

      • 110 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 13:05

        Always!

      • 111 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 13:09

*giggling* At least you are honest about it.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 15:43

Wouldn’t you say the professor is an honest bloke?

      • 113 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 15:53

        Yes. Absolutely.

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 16:03

        Thank you, LadyP.

      • 115 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 16:33

        You are very welcome, Professor.

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 17:34

        *nods*

      • 117 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 18:35

Am I putting you to sleep?

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:10

        Well…no…

      • 119 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 23:40

Yeah, I was. I can tell.

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:00

        Well…maybe!

      • 121 Amy Pinkrose May 7, 2014 at 14:05

I don’t like maybe. Leaves you on the fence hanging.

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:31

Yes. What should I do then?

      • 123 Amy Pinkrose May 7, 2014 at 15:00

        Stop saying maybe …

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 23:27

        I’ll try. Maybe.

      • 125 Amy Pinkrose May 8, 2014 at 00:13

*throws hands up in exasperation* I give up! You are impossible!

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 14:29

        Yes, I am!

    • 127 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 18:48

LadyP, that’s so sweet of you to say! Many thanks. You need to teach me how to be sweet.

      • 128 Amy Pinkrose April 27, 2014 at 18:57

Nothing to it. Think sweet. Be sweet. You are sweet. Simple. [GRIN]

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 19:07

No, I’m wicked. Susan thinks so.

      • 130 Amy Pinkrose April 27, 2014 at 19:29

Nah! Susan doesn’t think that! Not at all! Susan has a heart of gold!

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 14:35

She sure does! And the professor doesn’t have a heart, it’s said.

      • 132 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 14:52

But, NO! not true! He does he does! I’ve seen it! It’s true!

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 15:19

Is it in a box, like Davey Jones’?

      • 134 Amy Pinkrose April 28, 2014 at 15:27

        Nope.

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:06

        And you can’t be sure.

  2. 136 Jackie April 25, 2014 at 12:34

Daddy Salami doesn’t disappoint! Punchalicious dadblamery ☠ well done!

    • 137 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:18

Love the pic. Haha. I know! Something like that was bound to happen, huh?

      • 138 Jackie April 25, 2014 at 13:33

        Yeah it was!

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:51

        Absolutely!

  3. 140 L. Marie April 25, 2014 at 03:53

Who in their right mind would hire Daddy Salami for a job and then fire him??? Daniel has a death wish. Or he’s just crazy.
    The Veezler is . . . well . . . frightening.

    • 141 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:17

The Veezler is! It makes sense that DS and he would gang up–in a way. Daniel did set himself up for that.

  4. 142 weggieboy April 24, 2014 at 23:59

A darkish view of office life for certain! I’m glad Daddy Salami pulled it off in the end. (Well, “out”!)

    • 143 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:02

Haha. He seemed like he was going to be a respectable worker too. They forced him to it!

  5. 144 ladycheetah7 April 24, 2014 at 22:57

Omg! This was way too good and so close to reality. I must admit DS has skills. Dude can type. ..lol and it was nice to see Bud in the mix. Good to know someone can get on DS’s nerves.

    • 145 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:28

*laughing* Weren’t the normal rules reversed in this one? DS was going to be nice. And Bud is super-duper annoying, for sure. How about the Veezler? I think Susan likes him.

      • 146 ladycheetah7 April 25, 2014 at 00:10

I liked Veezler’s role. Coming back and tying any loose ends. Too bad the boss was the loose end.

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:06

Haha. But I do think Danny deserved something like that, you know.

      • 148 ladycheetah7 April 25, 2014 at 14:45

Death? Yeah that was a bit extreme. A good scaring would have done the trick.

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:03

        With acid?

      • 150 ladycheetah7 April 25, 2014 at 18:46

No. More like hang him outside the window by his legs…lol

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:55

        *laughing* that’s more brutal!

  6. 152 Julie Harris April 24, 2014 at 22:46

Like King Arthur, I must sing to get through my day as well! Daddy Salami’s laugh always makes me smile… great aurtoon!!

    • 153 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:28

(Me too! And I know that you sound WAY better than KA.)

Many thanks! How about the Veezler’s laugh?

  7. 154 Susan P April 24, 2014 at 22:08

Oh dear. The Sausage strikes again. Loved the story – Daniel was the most annoying boss ever!!!

    • 155 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:27

Haha! He was. What thinketh thou of the Veezler?

      • 156 Susan P April 24, 2014 at 23:53

        He’s most excellently veezly.

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 12:49

I think he’s like the professor.

      • 158 Susan P April 25, 2014 at 14:47

Now is that weasly or veezly?

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:03

        What does weasly mean?

      • 160 Susan P April 25, 2014 at 18:27

        Means like a weasel.

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:47

The professor just might be one of those.

      • 162 Susan P April 25, 2014 at 18:47

        I’ll never believe it.

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:59

You’re right, I think. I more wicked to the face, huh?

      • 164 Susan P April 25, 2014 at 19:08

        Maybe…

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 15:41

        Rats.

      • 166 Susan P April 26, 2014 at 15:57

No, the professor is just too sweet to be a rat.

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 16:14

Rats might be sweet. I do wonder why you think I am.

      • 168 Susan P April 26, 2014 at 19:04

One of my former students has a pet rat that she absolutely loves!

      • 169 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 18:54

        I bet I’m related.

      • 170 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 13:48

She lives in Lancaster. they are very smart, are the rats. They get a bad rap.

      • 171 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 15:13

I think so, too. Maybe it has to do with the blackdeath.

      • 172 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 16:14

Not the pet ones, though. And not all of the wild ones. They can carry disease, though.

      • 173 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:12

        I’m a wild one.

      • 174 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 19:34

        Right. So you tell us.

      • 175 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:39

And I bet you believe it.

      • 176 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 19:44

        I think you can be.

      • 177 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:49

Hmm…you seem to know too much!

      • 178 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 19:54

        I raised a son.

      • 179 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:11

That’s true. And Dan sounds like a warrior, too.

      • 180 Susan P April 28, 2014 at 20:17

He is amazing. I’m very proud of my kids. Adults though they all be.

      • 181 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:28

        For sure!

  8. 182 The Dancing Rider April 24, 2014 at 20:40

Certainly a goodly dose of Daddy Salami’s laugh, and other equally horrid sounds he makes. Where shall I begin? Someone actually HIRED DS?! And kudos to DS for continuing to attempt to finish his typing job!

Wasn’t Daniel H. just like so many bosses (without their coming right out and saying what he did, but of course they are thinking it?). Couldn’t stand him (no reflection on the character, as he was good in his role). Ugh!

LOVED how DS handled him, pay or not. And I suspect DS would have gotten some pay after sharpening that knife.

    (The sound effects were great!)

    • 183 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:27

Haha! I know! Wasn’t DS very nice about the whole thing? I think he might have been a good employee if they had been nicer to him.

Ugh indeed, DR! He was a bit spicy, for sure. Basically saying keep all questions and complaints. that was rude!

The Veezler was eerie wasn’t he?

      • 184 The Dancing Rider April 24, 2014 at 23:42

I find the Veezler scary. Who knows what he was up to, truly. Probably machinations….. of any sort.

      • 185 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 12:46

The professor would agree highly! Also, his laugh shows he’s up to no good.

      • 186 The Dancing Rider April 25, 2014 at 13:39

Yes. His laugh is a portent of … something!

      • 187 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:53

Something dastardly! I need to get a laugh like that!

  9. 188 Simply Skeptical April 24, 2014 at 17:44

This was hilarious; laughing hard! A disgruntled Salami just can’t be beat! Well he was trying and Daniel was a real stick in the mud on this one. The ending was great. Salami in the only way he knows certainly solved the various disturbances; deserved or not…. grimace.

    • 189 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:09

Awesome! Yes, I thought DS was being rather nice, too! Don’t you think he was driven to it?

  10. 190 erinkenobi2893 April 24, 2014 at 16:22

*tries to turn Daddy Salami invisible so he’ll think everyone is ignoring him, but accidentally turns him plaid-polka-dotted purple* Oops… at least he didn’t see me. *blushes* It will wear off after a while, though. Thankfully…

    • 191 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:04

*laughing* I think he could be cranky about that. Remember he didn’t like drinking that potion, did he?

      • 192 erinkenobi2893 April 24, 2014 at 23:10

No, but he didn’t see me. I was sitting on the rooftop. And it will wear off. Eventually. :-P *feeds peanuts to the squirrels*
How come the squirrels in the Punchy Lands are so friendly but the squirrels on normal Earth chatter at me when I sit under their favorite sycamore to study? It’s a conundrum…

      • 193 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:33

It is! I’ve had some problems with the squirrels though, you should know…

      • 194 erinkenobi2893 April 24, 2014 at 23:55

Really? Then the squirrels here must just like me… or maybe they’re waiting to gang up on me…

      • 195 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:00

Have your lighsaber ready. You should be able to sense their intentions, I think.

      • 196 erinkenobi2893 April 25, 2014 at 16:34

Indeed… though so far, they’ve been only benign to me…

      • 197 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:25

Yeah, I have trouble sensing things.

      • 198 erinkenobi2893 April 25, 2014 at 22:59

My senses are extremely keen, but my telekinesis is unreliable.

      • 199 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 16:05

I wish I could say the same.

      • 200 erinkenobi2893 April 26, 2014 at 17:10

You mean you are good at telekinesis, or just that you have a hard time sensing people’s intentions and that sort of thing?

      • 201 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 18:50

The latter, yes! I need to improve.

      • 202 erinkenobi2893 April 27, 2014 at 19:54

Ah. Well, I’ll see what I can do…
I told Winter’s story to four little girls I was babysitting just before they went to bed, and they were like, THAT WAS AWESOME! If you write this and publish it, I want a copy! It was very encouraging! ;-D

      • 203 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 14:37

I’d buy a copy too! Keep going. I think it’s only a matter of time. You’re very creative!

      • 204 erinkenobi2893 April 28, 2014 at 22:22

        Thanks! :-D
I guess having a blog is kind of a way of building up a reader base… and I have almost 80 followers now. :-D I may have to do something special when I get 100.

      • 205 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 17:39

You definitely will! Hold a celebration, you must! We just celebrated our one year anniversary a few weeks back.

      • 206 erinkenobi2893 April 29, 2014 at 17:44

Okay! :-D I’ll put a poll on my blog to see what kind of celebration I should hold when I get 100 followers!

      • 207 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 18:02

        Definitely do that!

      • 208 erinkenobi2893 April 30, 2014 at 14:05

        X-D
Maybe on May First, after Nanowrimo is over. :-P

      • 209 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 16:08

        Okay!

      • 210 erinkenobi2893 May 1, 2014 at 14:33

I put up the announcement post and poll. :-)

      • 211 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:02

I’ll be over! (Just got to get through these emails.)

      • 212 erinkenobi2893 May 2, 2014 at 01:03

Oh, believe me. I feel ya.

      • 213 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 13:02

        *laughs*

      • 214 erinkenobi2893 May 2, 2014 at 13:15

I logged on this morning and have like 3 pages of new emails!!! 0_0

      • 215 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 20:45

        Isn’t it such fun? *laughs*

      • 216 erinkenobi2893 May 3, 2014 at 13:07

Fun is not exactly the word I’d use for it… :-P

      • 217 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:11

        Horrid?

      • 218 erinkenobi2893 May 3, 2014 at 19:54

        Not quite that bad… no…
        Intimidating, maybe? :-P

      • 219 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:47

        Perfect word!

      • 220 erinkenobi2893 May 5, 2014 at 15:01

Yes. Intimidating, then. :-P An over-full inbox is intimidating. :-P

      • 221 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:11

        Yes, that’s right on.

      • 222 erinkenobi2893 May 5, 2014 at 23:55

Especially when most of the emails are nine-way email chats and are sent by the same person. :-P (I got caught up in Iris’s sister’s chain mail. :-P)

      • 223 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:47

*laughing* You should scream and holler about it!

      • 224 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 13:03

        I do sometimes. ;-P

      • 225 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 13:04

        *laughing*

      • 226 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 15:16

I did it! X-P Everyone said it was hilarious. They thought I was joking. :-P

      • 227 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 15:58

        Did you laugh?

      • 228 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 18:18

I guess so. But at least it slowed the number of emails I got. :-P

      • 229 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:08

        Then it worked!

      • 230 erinkenobi2893 May 8, 2014 at 11:12

        :-D Yay!

  11. 231 technophile9 April 24, 2014 at 15:20

    King Arthur’s singing. ;)

Why does DS always resort to violence? And have you ever used your katana?

Will you be able to tell us why there will be no more Friday posts? Or is this just temporary?

    • 232 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 22:57

      It’s a bingo, huh?

Well, used in what way exactly? (DS was forced to it, don’t you think?)

Yes, I can! The PL operates (now) on a Mon-Thu schedule. What do you make of it?

      • 233 technophile9 April 25, 2014 at 15:25

I don’t know – what do people use katanas for? Chopping up fruit? Self-defense? Just usage in general.

Good that you have an extra free day. :) I suppose it’s more quality over quantity.

      • 234 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:17

For the professor–self-defence! You’ve seen my pic of it, right?

Yes, more for planning. As a reader, Joe, do you like it better or not?

  12. 235 FictionFan April 24, 2014 at 14:48

Who knew the Sausage would be so conscientious (gosh, that’s a hard word to spell!)?? The Veezler wins the wicked chuckle competition by a mile this week! His voice so reminds me of someone but I just can’t think who – who is it?

Thank you for my Thursday treat, Prof and team!

    • 236 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 15:10

Well, he was trying to be a good worker. Daniel pushed him over the cliff, I think. (It is a hard word to spell. We should come up with our own spelling.) Yes, yes? But who? You must think of it. I’ve been waiting for someone to figure it out.

You’re welcome! (The PL operates on a Mon-Thu now. It gives more time for planning!)

      • 237 FictionFan April 24, 2014 at 18:18

Daniel was just marvellous as the boss! Who knew he could be so…masterful? *swoons just a little bit* (You do that – Americans are so good at making up spelling…) I don’t know!!! And it’s driving me mad!!! Sometimes I think it’s Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, but it isn’t, is it? It’s just…driving me…CRAZY!!!!!!!!

        (Planning your dates with Amelia?)

      • 238 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:14

Oh no! Is Schwarzy being replaced? (Especially the professor.) No, it’s not. I’d be surprised if you knew it, but he is based on someone. It just doesn’t seem to be a movie you’d watch, but I could be wrong. The actor died early. There’s a hint.

(The professor has not time for…for such things.)

      • 239 FictionFan April 25, 2014 at 15:02

Never!!! But though my love for Schwarzy is as bright and constant as the North Star, that doesn’t mean I can’t admire other men, does it? Especially when he not around… *winks naughtily* Hmm…Heath Ledger as the Joker? If so, you’re right – I haven’t seen him. But he still sounds like Jack to me – when Jack’s in manic mode…

(Tchah! I think we should subject the Professor to a truth serum…)

      • 240 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:15

You know, I’ve never seen the north star. He’s on vacation, you know. I think you’re right. It sounds like Jack Torrence from The Shining a bit–if you’re familiar with that movie.

If you could, what would be the first question you asked?

      • 241 FictionFan April 25, 2014 at 22:57

Really? I don’t know if I have or not – not knowing which direction is North doesn’t help. Well, after his sterling performances over the last couple of weeks, he deserves a little break. Yes, though it’s years since I saw it. But it reminds me of when he does the ‘You want me on that wall! You NEED me on that wall.’ speech…I love Jack when he’s manic!

‘On a scale of 1 to 10, how handsome do you think Darby is in the wet shirt scene?’ I’m betting it’d be 8 or up…

      • 242 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 16:04

You need a compass, methinks. I always laugh when he gets crazy!

It’s be the lowest possible! The professor isn’t FEF!

      • 243 FictionFan April 26, 2014 at 19:23

I do! I might have to watch A Few Good men again now…

Hah! You can’t fool me! FEF isn’t Mic, you know!

      • 244 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 18:58

Never seen it–which is a wonder.

Now I’m lost. *laughing* FEF isn’t Mic… Will you apologize to Mic one day?

      • 245 FictionFan April 28, 2014 at 13:21

You might enjoy it – Jack’s brilliant and it was back in the days when Tom Cruise was gorgeous. (As was whatever-her-name-was who played the woman…I’m sure it’ll come back to me soon…)

For what? I’m always charming about him – especially since he’s sooo like my favourite Professor…

      • 246 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 15:09

Tom Cruise is still the man! I think he’s a warrior.

(I think you spelled favorite wrong.)

      • 247 FictionFan April 28, 2014 at 18:12

Really? I’ve gone off him a bit in recent years, but there was a time when I’d have turned George down for a date with Tom…

(You’re quite right – so sorry! I should have spelled it ‘favourite picky Professor’…

      • 248 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:24

Yes, well he doesn’t go out. (Sandy tried and that didn’t work.) The man is a type of warrior.

        Picky professor…I sorta like that…

      • 249 FictionFan April 28, 2014 at 22:59

There are so many things in that first paragraph that I don’t understand that it’s hard to know where to begin. Hmm…let’s start with…who’s Sandy? (I once owned a poodle called Sandy…just as a little aside…)

It reminds me of Peter Piper – the picky Professor picked a peck of pickled peppers… *imagines Professor’s befuddled face and chuckles*

      • 250 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 17:47

She was a character in one of his movies. She tried to go out with him. I don’t think it worked too well. *smiles bigly* (And then you killed her?)

Oh no! I know that one, believe it or not…

      • 251 FictionFan April 29, 2014 at 22:47

I see…I think. (NO!!!! I loved Sandy – who was a he, BTW – very much! Wicked C-W-W to suggest such a thing!)

Ah, but can you say it?

      • 252 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 15:49

And I know I see. (A girl? Dadblameit. The poor thing was having an identity crisis when it died. Now I know.)

        Never could! *laughs* Can you?

  13. 253 K. A. Brace April 24, 2014 at 14:29

Reblogged this on The Mirror Obscura and commented:
I discovered Professor V.J. and Punchyland a few months ago and for thoude of you olde enough to remember Firesign Theatre you will enjoy this. For you younger ones you’ll enjoy it as well just no fond memeories of past humors. >KB

    • 254 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 15:09

KB! Many thanks for this! I’m honored.

      • 256 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:02

I agree! We all need to laugh. But don’t you think laughing the professor to scorn shouldn’t be allowed?

      • 257 K. A. Brace April 24, 2014 at 23:28

I don’t know–you’re the one who writes the scripts. Smiles. >KB

      • 258 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:38

*laughing* Yes, but isn’t it a good “overall” rule?

      • 259 K. A. Brace April 24, 2014 at 23:49

“Rules! Rules! We don’t need no stinkin’ rules!” –in case you’re too young that’s a take off from The Treasure of Sirerra Madre . >KB

  14. 263 PorterGirl April 24, 2014 at 14:24

Haha – excellent! I have worked in offices before and I must say, it is a very accurate depiction. I almost feel a bit sorry for DS, his typing was good and he was trying to get the report done :)

    • 264 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 15:08

I know! He was going to be nice for once. But everyone pushed him to be mean! that’s what happens to the professor, you know.

      • 265 PorterGirl April 24, 2014 at 15:33

How cruel. If people do that to you, Professor, you should tell me. I will give them a proper spanking!

      • 266 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 22:58

*laughing* Aw, thanks! How many spanks?

      • 267 PorterGirl April 25, 2014 at 07:15

Depends on how cruel they had been…

      • 268 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:17

Always beat them when they sneeze. I think it says that in a book.

      • 269 PorterGirl April 25, 2014 at 13:19

Then it must be correct! I shall follow that advice :)

      • 270 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:20

*laughing lots* Oh dear! It would be interesting advice.

      • 271 PorterGirl April 25, 2014 at 13:22

        The very best kind!

      • 272 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:51

Wowawee! I’d be scared of it, personally.

      • 273 PorterGirl April 25, 2014 at 13:54

No need to be scared, Professor, you will be quite safe!

      • 274 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:55

Well, many thanks then! I do fear at times, you know.

      • 275 PorterGirl April 25, 2014 at 14:00

I’m not surprised, the PL can be quite scary! But keep your katana close at hand and all will be well :)

      • 276 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:02

        And well oiled!

  15. 277 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 24, 2014 at 14:14

DS is the fastest typer in the west! Haha!
    *laughs too much*
Loved hearing Bud’s voice (thank you). You made me smile and laugh today, Duketh. I do wonder about the knife sharpening… (was that you sharpening your katana or just any sound effect? Creepy! !) DS was paid differently…I think. *wow* I loved it!

    • 278 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 15:03

      I know! He was speedy!

My pleasure, Audith! (Actually I’ve never sharpened the katana. I’m too scared to touch it! Twas a sound effect.) Now, who was your favorite for this episode?

      • 279 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 24, 2014 at 19:47

Very speedy. Impressive… (sound effects were fantastic)

Veezler’s laugh was perfect; liked his voice a lot! Bud was extremely likeable in this skit, but DS stole the show.

      • 280 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:25

        Many thanks, Audith!

Haha, I think I have to agree. Feel bad for him a bit?

      • 281 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 25, 2014 at 02:39

Do I feel bad for DS? For being fired?

      • 282 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:10

Yes, I think so. I mean, the professor does, you know. Wasn’t he trying?

      • 283 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 25, 2014 at 19:22

I do feel sorry for him, actually. I was pretty surprised how devoted he seemed to the job. I do wonder why he was…

      • 284 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 15:48

I think DS does believe he has to provide and protect Ruber (who doesn’t really need him). But DS is devoted in his own strange way. Nick and I have agreed that DS becomes his most vicious when he’s protecting his sons.

      • 285 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 26, 2014 at 21:06

I agree, he truly does become his most vicious, and becomes extremely proud of them, as well.

      • 286 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 19:01

Which is a nice trait, you must admit.

      • 287 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 27, 2014 at 23:25

I easily admit that, Duke. Next question…

      • 288 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 14:44

        Why is the professor wicked?

      • 289 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 19:12

Hmm. I think because he loves the reaction he gets from everyone, and possibly because he can’t tell me anything.
*wonders if any of that is correct* Next question…

      • 290 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:28

        Both correct! Especially, the latter…

      • 291 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 19:33

        I had a feeling…
        I like being right, Duke.

      • 292 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:38

        Yes, you are a lot.

      • 293 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 19:46

        I believe you.

      • 294 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 19:51

        *nods*

      • 295 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 19:58

        What are you doing today?

      • 296 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:22

        Well…well… *runs away*

      • 297 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 20:29

*runs with him* Good, I needed to fit a run in today. Thanks for always thinking of me…

      • 298 Professor VJ Duke April 28, 2014 at 20:30

        What a wonder. *laughs*

      • 299 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 28, 2014 at 20:39

Slow down, okay. I can’t talk too much at this pace. *breathes deeply*

      • 300 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 17:24

Running is dadblamery. Hurts the lungs because breathing through your mouth will do that after a while.

      • 301 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 29, 2014 at 19:29

How do you know I have trouble with that…?
        *pfft*

      • 302 Professor VJ Duke April 29, 2014 at 22:01

        Do you?

      • 303 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 30, 2014 at 00:45

Don’t analyze me, Duketh…. Mr. Wish I was a Dr.

Maybe, I used to forget to breathe.

      • 304 Professor VJ Duke April 30, 2014 at 15:56

Well, I always have trouble with it!

Oh I do not wish that!

      • 305 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister April 30, 2014 at 20:14

        Analyzing me or breathing?….

Thank you. *takes a deep breath*

      • 306 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 12:59

Well, the running and breathing, I think.

        Now circular breathe, madam.

      • 307 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 15:43

        I am…bossy pants!

      • 308 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:12

Why did you call yourself that? *laughs*

      • 309 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 20:25

*delayed reaction because she was confused*
*then snorted because she laughed so hard*
        I’ve never done that!!

      • 310 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:30

        It’s a wonder, you know!

      • 311 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 20:43

This is why I adore you…that comment, not just anyone could think like that…tis what sets you apart, I think.

      • 312 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:47

*kicks the dirt* Gee, thanks. “Wonder” is a great word.

      • 313 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 2, 2014 at 18:22

Wonder is a great word… Tell me why?

      • 314 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 21:06

        Well, it inspires wonderment.

      • 315 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 3, 2014 at 05:06

Yet, I’m left with wondering in what way.

      • 316 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:06

But that’s the special thing about it.

      • 317 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 3, 2014 at 20:06

        Yeah, I know.

      • 318 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:53

  16. 319 Ann Koplow April 24, 2014 at 13:36

This dramatization was a tad too close to home. Nevertheless, I still punched my acceptance for video subscription. Thank you, for not pulling any punches.

    • 320 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 15:00

My pleasure! Do you see what drove DS to it?

      • 321 Ann Koplow April 24, 2014 at 15:11

I think so! How would you tell the story?

      • 322 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 22:57

How do you mean tell the story?

      • 323 Ann Koplow April 24, 2014 at 23:06

I meant, how would you put that into words — what drove DS to it?

      • 324 Professor VJ Duke April 24, 2014 at 23:32

Well–good question. Maybe frustration? After all, he was trying–which is unique for DS. Don’t you think?

      • 325 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 01:00

He was definitely trying — that was clear. Whether that was unique for him, I really couldn’t say. But frustration can drive people to desperate measures, that is for sure!

      • 326 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:08

Absolutely! (It was a bit unique for Daddy Salami. Usually he doesn’t care much at all.) I think Daniel is the one that made him do it.

      • 327 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 13:16

Daniel was quite annoying, I concur.

      • 328 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:19

I think Bud Parker was a nice chap, though.

      • 329 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 13:20

Thank goodness that good chaps are around, too.

      • 330 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:20

There are. I think DS’s son, Ruber, is a bit nicer. But he might be a bit bad, too.

      • 331 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 13:24

Sometimes it’s quite challenging to ascertain the good and the bad chaps, don’t you think?

      • 332 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:51

It is! Do you know of any easier ways to do it, though?

      • 333 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 13:52

Trust your senses, instincts, past wisdom, adjust to new data, and do the best you can, my dear Professor.

      • 334 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 13:54

Well, you make it all seem simple. But do you think the professor has any past wisdom? I’m just not sure.

      • 335 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 13:57

Of course you have past wisdom. You’re alive, aren’t you? And I regret to say that it might sound simple, but it’s not. We’re all fighting the good fight, as best we can, Professor.

      • 336 Professor VJ Duke April 25, 2014 at 18:02

Yes, that makes sense. You know, you make the professor feel smart!

      • 337 Ann Koplow April 25, 2014 at 19:30

        That’s because you are!

      • 338 Professor VJ Duke April 26, 2014 at 15:50

Everyone knows the professor is dull, dadblameit!

      • 339 Ann Koplow April 26, 2014 at 16:25

        Everyone? I think not!

      • 340 Professor VJ Duke April 27, 2014 at 18:47

Well…dadblameit, then! (Thanks for making me feel professorish!)
