I love the casting of Scientist as “Scientist”….. It worried me when he said he wasn’t “Confident”, he was “Scientist”. Great set up. And the sound of his walk! :/ I did like his plan though. Scientist may not even be as good a sleuth as Daddy Olmes. Smirk. At least Scientist *knows* he has no skill …

Poor Ratson – though Will seems to have it up on Daddy Olmes. Good for Will (save the shooting from the hip..)

Why did I laugh at the explosion?! I think I’m becoming increasingly, and irreversibly, insane!

I do hope they are all ok. Can’t lose any of them really … each has his place and importance!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:43

*laughing lots* DS would benefit from that. I think he was the thief on a few occasions.

Yes, I agree. Will handles DS much better than Ruber did.

The professor laughed too! Maybe because of the look on DS’s face?

Oh yes, DS is going on to be a gardner. That’s what they were talking about at the way end. It won’t work, I say!

  2. 3 erinkenobi2893 May 3, 2014 at 19:45

    Botanical garden, eh? :-P
That’s hysterical! I shall be holding it over DS for the rest of his natural life!
Oh, I was just wondering… why don’t we see the Punchies much? Are they that secretive? Or do they just prefer to arrange things and then watch their handiwork explode? ;-P

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:39

*laughing* And I do think he needs it hung over his head. Imagining DS as a gardener is rather hard, I must admit.

We used to have “Punchy talks” every Thursday. Maybe I should start them back up. But, yes, they usually never leave their cave. But they do cause a lot of problems.

      • 5 erinkenobi2893 May 5, 2014 at 14:43

It is indeed. He certainly does not measure up to Sam Gamgee, or even Obi-Wan (who by all sources did a stint with the AgriCorps in his time.) ;-P
Indeed? How do they cause problems, exactly? ;-P

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:03

Oh, he’ll never be a Sam for sure. Surprised to hear that about Obi-Wan. DS will probably blow the flowers up.

Well, they define the PL. And some characters (i.e. DS, MM, Fats Henry, and even Mr. Magi) are said to be half Punchy. I will have to resume the talks, I think.

      • 7 erinkenobi2893 May 5, 2014 at 23:32

It’s true. It’s in “Jedi Apprentice,” which is supposed to be at least partially canon… or not, according to Disney. But it’s what I grew up believing about Obi-Wan’s childhood so it stays canon for me! :-P
If DS blows up the flowers, I’ll paint his house pastel pink with white and purple flowers, and characters from “My Little Pony”! X-D
        I don’t even watch “My Little Pony”… :-P
        Ah… ;-) Far-reaching fingers of doom. X-P

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:38

        What a wonder!

That would kill him, for sure! *laughs lots*

        What is My Little Pony?

      • 9 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 00:18

Ehhh… I always kind of thought it fitted him. I have this whole argument against the camp who say Obi-Wan is more attuned to the Unifying Force (i.e. aspect of the Force that is involved with visions, the past and future, etc.), as opposed to the Living Force (the other aspect, which deals with life in all its forms.) I think that he only seems cold and calculating because emotions have led him astray in the past and by nature he is very cautious; at the same time, though, he is deeply compassionate. The reason why Qui-Gon keeps telling him to be mindful of the Living Force in the Phantom Menace is because Obi-Wan doesn’t like the feeling of being out of control, and the Living Force tends to overwhelm him. Thus, I think Obi-Wan is kind of a natural as a gardener, healer, nurturing type… :-P But doesn’t let himself get carried away by feelings and certainly doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve.
X-P I think I might do it anyway… Should I wait for April Fools’ Day? :-P
It’s a creepy kiddy show, I think. :-P Starring ponies with fluffy manes and unicorn horns and wings and whatnot, all in pastel colors. It’s kind of a byword for horror in non-fan circles. :-P

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:51

Oh I see. I do wonder what happened to Obi-Wan to make him hide his emotions.

It’s up to you. I wouldn’t worry about that!

        It sounds like horror!

      • 11 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 13:54

Lots of things, methinks. First his mentor isn’t really effusive either, then his mother figure dies, and in my stories he gets captured by slavers four times in his apprenticeship alone… yeah. Crazy world. (And add one more in the Clone Wars. ‘Cause they did that there.)
        Hmm… Well, I’m a bit busy right now. I’ll repaint DS’s hut soon. :-P
        It is. Believe me. :P

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 15:47

Well, that wouldn’t have bothered Windu!

I bet your little sister likes it.

      • 13 erinkenobi2893 May 6, 2014 at 18:08

Probably not, but I think Obi-Wan is either sensitive or high-strung. Maybe both. :-P
Thankfully, she hasn’t seen it. All we have to worry about is… PBS Kids… *shudder* Martha Speaks and Cyberchase are my current worst enemies.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:05

I think he’s sensitive–which might not be that bad.

        *laughing*

      • 15 erinkenobi2893 May 7, 2014 at 12:42

        :-P True…
He reminds me of Sherlock sometimes…

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:24

I could see where you say that.

      • 17 erinkenobi2893 May 8, 2014 at 11:22

There was this one time when there was a parasite that controlled people’s minds, and Obi-Wan went and PICKED IT UP rather than killing it! 0_0 He said he wanted to STUDY it!
Well, top marks in biology, but seriously, I think he’s more than a little nuts. Maybe a bit, bit and little bits? :-P

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 14:58

Love the Punchy Argot you used! Oh, but I would have wanted to study it!

      • 19 erinkenobi2893 May 9, 2014 at 15:00

        :-D
Yeah… it got studied later in the arc. But it was frankly disgusting.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke May 9, 2014 at 20:49

        I see what you mean.

      • 21 erinkenobi2893 May 10, 2014 at 14:34

*shudders* Those things were a whole new level of disgusting horror.

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke May 12, 2014 at 12:55

        Only sometimes!

      • 23 erinkenobi2893 May 13, 2014 at 13:45

Perhaps. *shudders* I wish people wouldn’t do stuff about zombies. It’s horrid.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke May 14, 2014 at 13:05

        I hate zombies, too.

      • 25 erinkenobi2893 May 15, 2014 at 14:54

        And vampires. Ew.

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke May 16, 2014 at 15:11

        Yucketh indeed!

      • 27 erinkenobi2893 May 16, 2014 at 17:07

*smashes a chair over the head of random boogeyman* Haha! >:-D

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke May 16, 2014 at 23:06

        That was so cool!

      • 29 erinkenobi2893 May 19, 2014 at 12:26

        This is fun. :-)

  3. 30 Painting Pundit May 3, 2014 at 17:22

What on earth is Daddy Olmes planning to do in the botanical gardens? Catch plant thieves? Could be good! But I’m glad he escaped the ICSU. They were pretty evil. Does that mean Will will now go his separate way and find something else to shoot?

    • 31 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:12

Well, I don’t think Will wants to go into the garden business. And I think Olmes meant he was going to care for flowers. Rather strange, isn’t it?

  4. 32 InfiniteZip May 2, 2014 at 17:02

The coming of the sun….ooooh…Parker, is he a cowboy? He sounds like a cowboy:)

    • 33 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 21:02

Does he? Do you like him?

      • 34 InfiniteZip May 3, 2014 at 13:33

He doesn’t seem too bad…like him? I like the others better…I think he may be an imposter….

      • 35 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:11

Coolio! What do you mean imposter?

      • 36 InfiniteZip May 3, 2014 at 20:14

Maybe it was the bomb going off, rattled my brains. Coolio is a rapper:) I workout to his tunes?

      • 37 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:56

Rattled mine too! Aha! Really? Now that’s an interest. He stole my word. What should we do about it?

      • 38 InfiniteZip May 5, 2014 at 15:40

Did he have it first? What year did you start using it, some words can be used more than one way:) I like cool beans myself, and jumping jehusephat too…but I can’t spell it, I say it a lot.

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:13

That’s a cool saying! Well, the professor bought it! How’s that?

      • 40 InfiniteZip May 5, 2014 at 19:30

        Do you get royalty rights?

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:26

It’s hard to collect, you know. Should I?

  5. 42 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 14:48

OK. I will post this through me reader cause I couldn’t at your site, Prof. Send Daddy Omes over to me if he wants to learn about flowers. Any time. He is welcome. With LOVE, LadyP

    • 43 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 17:16

I think if you try to teach Daddy Olmes about flowers, you could end up losing your head.

      • 44 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 17:41

I am willing to take that chance. [GRIN]

    • 45 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 18:28

But…but… that would mean… NO MORE GRINNING!!!

      • 46 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 18:29

Um, well, what I didn’t tell you, I do have a good evil twin whose head I am sure would just pop right up on my shoulders. No prob. Got it covered. 😎

    • 47 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 18:41

An evil twin that would give up their head doesn’t sound all that evil.

      • 48 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 18:53

Oh but that is why she is the GOOD evil twin.

    • 49 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:08

Oh yes! Could you use DS in your gardens?

      • 50 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 20:21

Absolutely. Lots of things I can teach him and lots of things for him to do to keep him out of trouble.

      • 51 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:28

What if he plucks a few rose bushes out?

      • 52 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 20:34

He does and he looses the arm that plucked the rose bush out!

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:41

But that would make him very angry indeed.

      • 54 Amy Pinkrose May 2, 2014 at 15:05

Hmmmm…….well he needs to think twice about harming my roses. I become Mamma Bear IF harm comes to someone I Love. Just sain’ ….

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 20:54

        But…DS!

      • 56 Amy Pinkrose May 2, 2014 at 22:52

Well, there are consequences to our actions, ya know. I am very protective of those I love. Just sayin’ …. I have no doubts, DS will be a perfect gentleman. *grinning*

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 18:55

        Especially if you feed him.

      • 58 Amy Pinkrose May 3, 2014 at 19:16

        Then I won’t. Simple.

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:34

        Nothing is simple, sadly.

      • 60 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 13:31

If you make it simple it is. Simply simple

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 17:33

        I’m complicated.

      • 62 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 17:59

No sorry. I am. Ask hubs. Tee hee….

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:20

        All ladies are…

      • 64 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 20:39

Excuse me? I furgot what we are talking about…

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:29

We were talking about how old you think the professor is.

      • 66 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 23:38

Um, let me consult my crystal ball. I see, um, NO! NO? Cannot be! It’s blank. No number. Do you exist? *eyes gaping with mouth open collecting flies*

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:38

I do not! I’m the shadow.

      • 68 Amy Pinkrose May 5, 2014 at 23:40

See? That is why I am not seeing anything. Shadows are not real!

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:33

        Not even professorish ones?

      • 70 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 12:35

        Nope. Not even close! Sorry!

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:58

        You’re not sorry!

      • 72 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 13:04

But I am I AM! LadyP never lies!

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 13:05

        Never?

      • 74 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 13:10

Um, let me think about that. I’ve tried it. Yet the darnedest thing happens. My face turns all red. So no, I don’t lie.

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 15:43

A red face is cool, though.

      • 76 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 15:53

That is because RED is your fav color. LOL No, red doesn’t look good on me. I like PINK.

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 16:03

Pink looks good on you, I think.

      • 78 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 16:33

*scratching head* What’s there to THINK about? Lady PINKrose? Hmmmm…….

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 17:34

        It should be REDrose.

      • 80 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 18:34

        *tossing hair over shoulder* NO!

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:09

Why did you toss your hair out the window?

      • 82 Amy Pinkrose May 6, 2014 at 23:40

I think you need glasses. You aint readin’ right.

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:00

This happens all the time. Rats.

      • 84 Amy Pinkrose May 7, 2014 at 14:04

Pats what? HUH? Pats did you say? *shaking head in confusion*

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:31

        The Patriots of course!

      • 86 Amy Pinkrose May 7, 2014 at 15:00

        Why silly me! Of course!

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 23:27

        Exactly!

      • 88 Amy Pinkrose May 8, 2014 at 00:13

You really didn’t have to agree with me. Geeze.

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 14:29

        I disagree suddenly!

    • 90 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 21:53

Aw, come on, I win. There’s no such thing as “good evil.”

      • 91 Amy Pinkrose May 1, 2014 at 22:14

        Really? HUH!

  6. 92 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 14:21

    Attention all skit-watchers!

Please make sure that you watch till the very end of every video. They do not end immediately after the “subscribe” window.

    Thank you!

    • 93 Nicholas Warren--MPS staff member May 1, 2014 at 17:05

      Definitely correct.

      • 94 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 17:14

So ridiculously correct. Or as a certain character would say: “correcto.”

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:21

Ooo, wondering if I know this character….

      • 96 Nicholas Warren--MPS staff member May 1, 2014 at 19:56

        Uh…yeah.

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:23

What a great informative reply, Nick.

    • 98 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:01

Thanks, Symph. I forget to say such things.

      • 99 Nicholas Warren--MPS staff member May 1, 2014 at 23:07

It was very intelligent.Because I didn’t take the time to type any other reply, and therefore did the more intelligent thing.

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:52

Of course you did. You may want to run that by again me some time in the future.

  7. 101 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 13:51

First…I love the scientist’s voice. Bud is quickly becoming, well, powerful. The Bad One..haha!! Love that, too. Daddy Olmes had a good run, I enjoyed his tales. I like the added goodness at the end, as well. Chit chatting with us… *smiles*

Great video, Studio! (I really enjoy the arrangement in this series. Beautiful!)

    • 102 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:00

Isn’t that voice the lowest low? Man!

      Parker? Tell me more!

Haha! You mean Parker thinking in his head? Yeah, that’s cool. Just a little reverb and it’s like someone’s thinking.

      Many thanks!

      • 103 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 20:14

Yes, I really do enjoy it!!

Tell me more…he was standing on his own two feet for one of the first times, I think? Hmmm

Yeah, exactly. I liked it. *smiles*

        Welcome!

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:24

That’s how I wanna sound when I grow very old.

        Hmm…what meanth thou, Audith?

      • 105 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 1, 2014 at 20:35

I think you sound like that now…

What do you mean, Duketh? Hmm, am I missing something?

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:42

Like Scientist? Cool. He definitely has a warrior voice.

Well, I would like to know why you like Parker so much.

      • 107 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 2, 2014 at 18:10

        I think he does…

Well, because …because… because…you know why.

      • 108 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 21:03

Hmm… *stamps foot through the floor and roars*

      • 109 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 3, 2014 at 05:33

Hmmm…I really enjoyed that, Duke. You’re cute when mad.
        *eyes sparkling*

      • 110 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:10

Only little kids can be cute, dadblameit!!!

      • 111 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 3, 2014 at 20:40

I could have said, “You’re extremely sexy when you get mad.” But that wouldn’t be very professorish.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:58

        *runs away*

      • 113 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 5, 2014 at 13:40

Watches him and thinks that might look sexy, too. *winks*

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 17:38

        *shock* *laughs* Goodness me!

      • 115 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 5, 2014 at 19:19

*splahes her face with cold water*
        Goes about her business.

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:22

*wonders why she splashed herself* Must be a war!

      • 117 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 5, 2014 at 23:49

To wake myself up, Duketh. Of some sort probably…

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:42

        Wars are glorious.

      • 119 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 6, 2014 at 13:58

        Maybe for Warriors.

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 15:51

        I suppose you don’t think so…

      • 121 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 6, 2014 at 19:17

What kind of war, Duketh? There is one type I do believe in…

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:14

        Ooo! Which is that?

      • 123 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 7, 2014 at 00:05

You didn’t tell me yours. *zips her lips*

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:04

Didn’t tell you the type of wars I like?

      • 125 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 7, 2014 at 19:59

        Yes

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 23:45

        Trojan Wars! How about you?

      • 127 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 8, 2014 at 01:53

The battlefield of love, I’d say.

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 14:39

I knew it! I forseed (professorish word) it, you know.

      • 129 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 8, 2014 at 15:00

Then why did you ask me. Cruel animal, you are!

      • 130 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 15:12

Just to make sure! I’m a scorpion.

      • 131 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 8, 2014 at 15:17

I figured as much! We have them here…I step on them sometimes.

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 15:18

This one has a stinger that kills!

      • 133 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 8, 2014 at 15:26

        Promises, promises…

      • 134 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 18:55

        It’s not a promise–tis a fact!

      • 135 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 8, 2014 at 19:19

        Have you done the research?

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke May 9, 2014 at 01:13

Hmm…do you know more than I do on this subject? I bet so! *laughs*

      • 137 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 9, 2014 at 02:46

I know nothing about scorpions or stingers, Duke. You could probably teach me.

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke May 9, 2014 at 20:39

I fear I don’t know much either! *laughs*

      • 139 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 9, 2014 at 21:03

        We’re all in trouble… *laughs*

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke May 12, 2014 at 12:46

        We’d better just run.

      • 141 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 12, 2014 at 19:29

I think I’ll try to train a scorpion.

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke May 12, 2014 at 23:12

        How about a dragon?

      • 143 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 13, 2014 at 03:02

My dragon thinks he’s a scorpion.

      • 144 Professor VJ Duke May 13, 2014 at 13:00

I bet he has a purple tongue. And his fire is blue!

      • 145 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 13, 2014 at 13:44

He’s all sorts of rainbow. I had a feeling.

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke May 14, 2014 at 13:04

        *nods wisely*

      • 147 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 14, 2014 at 19:49

        *smiles*

  8. 148 L. Marie May 1, 2014 at 13:50

Love Will and that weird laugh! And Daddy Salami/Olmes always is special. :-D

    • 149 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:59

Thanks! Well, I think DS might be going into the flower business. Which might be a wonder!

  9. 150 ladycheetah7 May 1, 2014 at 13:43

“Cur-trout” oddly that is the best insult I ever head from DS. I thought that was quite funny. I mean is DS really going to retire? He always has a way of coming back,

    • 151 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:47

Do you think you might use it some day? Well, he wants to go into flowers. What do you think of this?

      • 152 ladycheetah7 May 1, 2014 at 20:30

I am 100% positive that if I used turtle cur that I would be misunderstood and probably committed to a psychiatric ward for testing. As for DS and his career change if he has the green thumb go for it but I highly doubt he will be in anyone’s inner garden circle with such a malevolent attitude.

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:31

*laughing* But he can be sweet! You saw some evidence of that last week. All he’d have to do is get hurt, I suppose.

But I use that saying all the time–and look at me!

  10. 154 Simply Skeptical May 1, 2014 at 13:39

Ha, ha, ha… dentures. Will does make an odd sound though. Perhaps gum is stuck to the roof of his mouth that he tries to dislodge every so often. I love the Olme’s series music. Maybe you’ll have classic reruns or even new episodes since I think DS is not a reliable character (man? of his word) anyway. This was extremely chuckle worthy. Thanks for the imaginations and creativity. What’s next? Can’t wait…grins…

    • 155 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:47

You’ll see! We have all sorts of devilish plans! Will does have a strange laugh, but that’s why he got a job! *smiles*

  11. 156 FictionFan May 1, 2014 at 13:15

Ooohh!!! I’m torn between chuckling profusely and sobbing wildly! Can this really be the last of my hero Olmes?? How will I survive without him? (*remembers Star Trek and smiles through tears*)

Great fun, Prof – a fitting ending to the series. Thank you for ten weeks worth of entertainment! *grins as big as the botanical garden*

(Just remember Olmes has a way of coming back when you least expect it though…)

    • 157 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:40

It was 10 of them! *smiles bigly* (Do you feel bad at all for Ratson? At all?)

You’re quite welcome! Just think, when it started out, you actually liked DS.

      (He does?)

      • 158 FictionFan May 2, 2014 at 00:29

Indeed it was – and I appreciated each and every one! (I do – very badly! I must admit I kept expecting that he was going to make a miraculous re-appearance…but nothing is ever predictable in the PL! I became quite fond of Will too though…) Oh well, I suppose I’ll just have to subscribe now so that I can listen to them all again…

        Well…and don’t tell him…and DON’T tell my Schwarzy…but I still have a sneaking fondness for the chuckling old Sausage…

        (Oh, yes!)

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:55

You know, I think it’s surprising Will didn’t pop Olmes off. It was a possibility, I think. Do you have a favorite episode? I think my favorite was the third one. The Muskrat one.

I’ll be as mum as a turtle. (See why you have to say “mom” instead of “mum”?)

      • 160 FictionFan May 2, 2014 at 15:10

Tchah! Nobody could get the better of Olmes…or DS! (Except my Schwarzy, of course.) Hmm…I think the Muskrat was probably mine too – I particularly enjoyed the early ones that were (loosely) based on the actual stories, but that’s just ‘cos I’m a Holmes nerd. I’m planning on listening to the whole series again over the weekend so will get back to you with a final winner… *winks cheekily*

No, no, mom is just another example of the American persecution of poor innocent ‘u’s. Anyway why shouldn’t turtles have moms…?

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 20:55

Not even the professor? I was just learning about green alien nerds, you know. And favorite character, please!

Well, if you’re mum, you’re not saying anything. And we all know moms can’t be mum. Isn’t that a thrilling argument?

      • 162 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 00:03

Nope, not even he! Is that people who are nerds about green aliens, or green aliens who are nerds? OK, but I think that’s obvious – all the ones Schwarzy played!!

It is! And based on a fundamental and unarguable truth too! But…do pops pop?

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 18:57

Oh no. They’re green aliens who are nerds. It’s a quagmire, for sure. Schwarz maybe has a sister.

Yes! At least, I’d think so. That’s why you must call them ‘dad’.

      • 164 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 23:31

Oh, I’d quite like to meet them – if the Professor hadn’t (rightly) disabled the smileys, I’d do a  in their honour! Really? Somehow I can’t imagine a female version of Schwarzy…

        All of them??

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:59

I’d like to meet them too. I think I’m a gray alien. Well, she’s not at all like Schwarz. Not at all.

Well, only the ones that apply, I suppose.

      • 166 FictionFan May 5, 2014 at 17:34

So…the winners in the Olmes contest…in reverse order…

        3. The Red-Headed League – lovely performance from Daniel and a surprise gurgle from Zez! Nice twist at the end.

        2. The Muskrat Ritual – beautifully based on one of my favourite stories and a stellar performance from my Schwarzy.

        1. The Raisin Dilemma – loved it! Schwarzy was brill, and the whole thing was so funny! The winner!!

DS & Ruber deserve special praise for the whole series (Ruber’s best performances to date, I think) and the Olmes music is just brilliant – so appropriate for the series. (Why did you drop it in a couple of episodes near the end?) And special mention must be made of DS’s little singing intervention in Revenge of the Crooks – sheer comedy gold!

A great series…will it ever be equalled? Or surpassed?? *hums Star Trek theme*

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 18:18

I’m surprised The Raisin Dilemma made #1! Wowawee. That’s my favorite too…looking back. (I actually forgot to send the right music to the team that day… And yes, I did catch it!)

Sheer comedy gold… That’s made my day, FEF!!!!

Well–I shouldn’t tell you this–but episode #2 is hopefully going to be released this Thursday.

      • 168 FictionFan May 5, 2014 at 20:02

Was it based on The Blue Carbuncle or were the similarities coincidental? (Quite right too – after all Bubbles’ hard work!)

        *smiles delightedly*

Woohoo! The only thing better than a treat is the anticipation of a treat…

      • 169 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 23:29

Actually, it wasn’t. There was a Olmes drawn up (never finished) about the Blue Carbuncle. (Bubbles wasn’t working on it by then! Lazy beast.)

        *takes a snapshot of it*

Awesome then! The professor has plans for the whole series. I’m rather excited about it.

      • 170 FictionFan May 6, 2014 at 01:14

An unfinished Olmes lying around…what an enticing prospect! *shining eyes* (But Bubbles wrote it, didn’t he? Theme tune composing always seems like the job to be in, I think – assuming one has the talent, of course. Write one theme for a successful series and it’ll still be getting credits years later…)

Bet you’re not as excited about it as I am!! Any little hints you’d like to share? Casting? Length of series? Plotlines? Colour of the uniforms?

      • 171 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 12:54

It was sort of finished, but I didn’t like it. *shy smile* (Yes, he did! Mr. Fish is awesome where all that’s concerned. Yes, exactly right. And the royalties come in year after year!)

Well, you know the three main characters. And then another main character is introduced. I’m not sure how long it will run. It really depends. And I have some coolio ideas about plot lines!

        The uniforms…I’m not sure!

      • 172 FictionFan May 6, 2014 at 15:55

Well, you can revisit it in the next series maybe… *chuckles wickedly*

A very fine example of Professorial kerflummoxment there! It even actually almost looks as if you’re genuinely trying to answer…masterful!

Just remember the ones in red unifroms always die…

      • 173 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 16:05

Well–maybe if you have a BD or something we’d do it as a special.

No! *laughing* I was really trying… Which parts don’t make sense?

Rats. I love red uniforms. Is there a ranking chain by uniform colors?

      • 174 FictionFan May 6, 2014 at 16:41

Ooh, ooh, ooooooh!!! I do indeed have a BD (which is a wonder since obviously I never age) and it just so happens it falls on a Thursday this year…and just a couple of months away…24/7 or as you Americans would say 7/24…

Oh it all makes sense! It’s not the sense that’s the problem…I suspect you’ve been on one of those spy courses where they teach you how to say nothing under the harshest interrogation. So…probably no point in me resorting to torture…

Yes, but it’s all awfully complicated – and it changes depending which series. But I like the Voyager uniforms best so that’s what they’ll be wearing when I listen…

      • 175 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 17:36

*laughing* At first, I was thinking you were a bit daft, because of the 24th month–and that was a wonder. July 24th? Is that really it? No, pulling my leg about this!

I don’t mean to be…so professorish. Tell you what, it must just be my personality. Chickit.

Voyage… Never seen that one, I think.

      • 176 FictionFan May 6, 2014 at 20:19

Haha! Just as well I speak both languages! Yep, that’s seriously it. Amazing to think I’ll soon be…21, eh? I’ll need to get started on that wrinkle cream…

Oh, don’t think you can get round me with Schwarzy impersonations! (You can, though! Oh yeah, yeah, yeah!)

You should – only 172 episodes at about 45 minutes each, which is…er…well…oh, I’m sure you can work it out! It’s awfully good…

      • 177 Professor VJ Duke May 6, 2014 at 23:21

It’s a good thing you do. It is, Mrs. Eternally 21! No wrinkle cream! It makes the skin fragile. (Well–what a great thing indeed! So, yes, if you’d like a Olmes, we’d do one for you certainly! Do you know what day it falls on?)

*laughing lots* He has some of the best lines, I admit. Love his rhyming he does in ST.

Wowawee! That went on for some time! Do you own them?

      • 178 FictionFan May 7, 2014 at 01:15

Yes, but wrinkles make the ego fragile. (Oooh, yes, please!!! You are as sweet as…as…as chocolate fudge cake with chocolate sauce!!! Thursday – you’re psychic powers must have told you that when you changed the day…)

        I loved his Chow Chow Wow! It sounds a bit…just a litlle bit…like Chicky-Woot-Woot.

Yep, every single one. Plus all of Generation. Plus a little Star Trek communicator that makes the real sound…but I am NOT a weirdo Trekkie nerd, OK?

      • 179 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 14:18

They do not! I’ve heard it said that wrinkles are lots of little smiles. (Cherry sauce! But, anyway, a wonder it’s on Thursday. And here I was prepared to do two vids if necessary.)

I remember when Schwarz came up with Chicky-Woot-Woot. (He was the one who came up with it.) Any time he made a good play (in sports) he’d say it.

Of course not! But it’s a wonder you don’t like StarWars.

      • 180 FictionFan May 7, 2014 at 16:33

Yes, but I bet the person who said that didn’t have wrinkles. (Hmm…OK, cherry sauce might be nice. Dadblameit! If I’d known that I’d have lied about the date!!)

Well, how exciting to discover C-W-W was a Schwarzy invention! That man’s talents never cease to astound me! (And imagine Schwazry being all sporty – I would never have expected that!)

Ah but the Professor knows my other name now – so must imagine the years and years and years of ‘jokes’ I was subjected to because of Star Wars and that dadblamed princess and her silly hair-do! And EVERY Hallowe’en I was bound to be chatted up by some Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker – it was all most trying!

      • 181 Professor VJ Duke May 7, 2014 at 23:33

Good point, FEF. (I would have found out! I have artificial intelligence.)

Haha, now I never said he was really that good. The C-W-W’s didn’t come often, you know.

*laughing lots and lots* No! That’s just rotten. But she had brown hair, and aren’t the names pronounced just a little bit differently? That is a bummer. I really can’t stand Luke–and Vader is just weird.

      • 182 FictionFan May 8, 2014 at 01:55

(Ooh, just like Data! Do you also have a positronic neural network then? And can you tap dance really, really quickly?)

Sooo jealous! I bet he looks great in his dinky little baseball trousery-things!

I kept telling people those things myself! But did it make a difference? No! And Star Wars was more of a sensation than even Harry Potter! Traumatised, that’s me. I actually had to bop one particularly persistent Darth Vader over the head with his own light sabre one evening…

      • 183 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 14:41

(Now that does sound like something I should get! I’ve never danced…)

It was football, actually. He was a free safety.

*laughing* I believe you about whacking that poor boy over the head! How vicious you were–are! Did you feel sorry afterwards?

      • 184 FictionFan May 8, 2014 at 17:36

(Neither had Data but looked how quickly he mastered it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P4SdvtNKdU – from 1.30 to 3.30 is the relevant part.)

Ah! Shoulder pads and a stripy face then! Cool! What on earth is a free safety?!

        No…but he did! *cackles fiendishly*

      • 185 Professor VJ Duke May 8, 2014 at 19:07

*laughing lots* Poor guy–robot! Didn’t know the doctor was a woman. How brutal of her.

The play defense. The receivers on the offense are each covered by a cornerback on the defense. Then there’s always two safeties on the defense who play further back. Hope that make sense.

Well, he was picking on you, so, it was deserved.

      • 186 FictionFan May 8, 2014 at 21:28

I think Data won though… The doctor is only a woman in Next Generation. He’s a man in the original series…and a hologram in Voyager… (sometimes I wish I didn’t know all these things *geek face*)

Yes, it did! I could actually visualise it – oh no, what have you done to me?

      • 187 Professor VJ Duke May 9, 2014 at 01:17

No, no, that’s cool. I’m learning about that as of now. Let me see…in the old series he was Mr. Bones or something like that. Now a hologram is an interest.

Nice! You’ve been watching, I see.

      • 188 FictionFan May 9, 2014 at 16:17

He was Dr Leonard McCoy, nicknamed Bones. I love the Doctor in Voyager – nearly as much as I love Data (but not nearly as much as I love Schwarzy).

Oh, no! Just those two games…but then they did go on for a verrrrrrry long time…

      • 189 Professor VJ Duke May 9, 2014 at 20:52

You know all of this! I might need to ask you questions from time to time–if you don’t mind.

About three hours, I suppose. I hate football the sudden.

      • 190 FictionFan May 10, 2014 at 14:08

Oooh, can I get one of those canvas chairs with my name and title on the back?

        FEF
        GEEK

        You’re so…fickle…

      • 191 Professor VJ Duke May 12, 2014 at 12:51

FEF is not a geek! Of this I’m quite sure.

It’s been a long time coming.

    • 192 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 17:20

Of course we’ve been too kind to mention the British persecution of the “h” and “r.”

If reducing the number of letters in a word is unsavory, then leaving the letters in and neglecting to pronounce them is purely criminal.

We say Sherlock Holmes. You say Shelock Omes. tsk-tsk-tsk.

      • 193 FictionFan May 2, 2014 at 17:37

Oh, dear, dear Bubbles! You seem to be mistaking this proud and warriorlike Scotswoman for a soft southern Cockney Englishwoman! I assure you, sir, that we h-aspirate our h-aitches with gusto, and we Scots are particularly noted for the way we roll our ‘r’s (which sounds much ruder in British than American, I hope…) Sherrrrlock Hhhomes!!!

    • 194 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 18:16

      Oh my. Many apologies!

Why is rolling an “r” much ruder than actually pronouncing one normally ;)

Oh dear you left out your “L.”

      • 195 FictionFan May 2, 2014 at 19:58

Accepted gladly! *returns punitive haggis-hurling device to storage*

It’s actually quite hard to explain that with becoming rude and crude, and then Mr Ratherquite might get annoyed (not to mention the Prof now he’s modelling himself on Mr R – and I didn’t roll that one…)

I admit we don’t pronounce the ‘L’ in Holmes – but you don’t either, do you?

    • 196 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 22:53

:D Though I do think you should direct your outrage on behalf of persecuted letters towards those fellow… British folk (?)… of yours.

I see. But there’s nothing quite like an American “R.” I’ve heard they’re rolling them all over Europe.

As far as, do we pronounce the “L” in Holmes… I suppose it is a mixed record. I prefer to pronounce S.H. like this: Sherlock Hole-ms. See, that way you get the “L.” And that is how I pronounce it when I’m referring to the American justice, Oliver Wendell Holmes.

      • 197 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 01:14

Ah, the English may have difficulties with pronunciation, but at least they can spell… ;)

        Haha! I couldn’t possibly comment!!

Really? Now I never knew that – I assumed the ‘L’ was silent for everyone. But then you Americans…you just have to be different, don’t you? Bless! *smiles indulgently*

      • 198 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 18:55

*laughing* That part about the rolling of them is such a funny!

    • 199 Symphonist Sepperl May 3, 2014 at 16:20

We spell fine too, thank you very much!!

      Ah, but now you must.

Different is good. However, “L” is important too. It hurts to be overlooked.

      • 200 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 17:53

Mm-hmm! If you think so, Bubbles…

Suffice it to say that it is a well-known fact that if you see a man wearing tartan trousers in Edinburgh, he will be American… (but the Scots abroad have their own cute little quirks too…)

Huh! My point exactly! Those poor neglected little ‘u’s…

      • 201 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 19:13

That’s funny. I’ve never heard of tartar trousers.

      • 202 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 23:51

I think you and Bubbles are ganging up on me…

      • 203 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 13:06

        I wouldn’t do that!

    • 204 Symphonist Sepperl May 3, 2014 at 18:57

Sorry but I didn’t get that at all.

You can’t be overlooked if you’re not there! And rather than leave all those unfortunate “u’s” in words merely to… err… overpronounce them (that doesn’t sound right) is dishonest and cruel.

      • 205 FictionFan May 3, 2014 at 23:35

        Probably just as well…

But we do pronounce the ‘u’s! Not separately but they give a different sound to the ‘o’ before them – so ‘our’ sounds more like ‘ur’ than ‘or’…though not quite all the way to ‘ur’ either. See?

    • 206 Symphonist Sepperl May 4, 2014 at 01:04

A pointless distinction! Are not rough, though, and thought all different??? Do they need different vowel combos? I thought not.

Hmmm… now that I bring this up, here are three other candidates for “u” extermination. :)

      • 207 FictionFan May 4, 2014 at 14:09

You see? Persecution, pure and simple! What harm are those innocent little ‘u’s doing? And yet you want to turf them out of their jobs leaving them wandering hopeless and sad, their little lives a purposeless wasteland of despair…cruel Bubbles!

Haha – these just get better and better! Cool music, too. But… but… will Daddy Olmes and Will be OK?! Scientist and Bud Parker were particularly good, I felt :)

    • 209 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:11

Many thanks! Daddy Olmes went out of the business. (At then end of the movie there’s always a few last lines that make the ending complete.)

Dones’t Scientist have a creepy voice?

      • 210 PorterGirl May 1, 2014 at 13:12

Do you think? I quite like his voice :) But then I am hungry so my judgement is impaired :(

      • 211 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:36

Hunger does that, for sure. It always makes me cranky.

I take it back! It’s coolio!

      • 212 PorterGirl May 1, 2014 at 19:52

        :D

    • 213 Symphonist Sepperl May 1, 2014 at 17:40

I am glad you like the music!!

      • 214 PorterGirl May 1, 2014 at 18:28

        Certainly did! Congrats on that!

    • 215 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 17:28

      Thank you kindly.

Love the cool riff mid way through. And Will – does he have dentures? It sounds like it…

Nice to know the ending of that adventure…it WAS the ending, right?

    • 217 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 13:08

*laughing* Will with dentures–I’m not sure! It would make sense though. Don’t you like his laugh?

It was! The professor promised ten and that’s that! Aren’t you sick of them?

      • 218 Susan P May 1, 2014 at 13:25

I never get sick of DS – but I might if he were not so judicially and sparingly sprinkled. Will’s laugh is…unique.

      • 219 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 19:41

The professor is judicially sprinkled–at least, I hope so. That sounds coolio.

        It is unique…

      • 220 Susan P May 1, 2014 at 20:13

        Yes. it is.

      • 221 Professor VJ Duke May 1, 2014 at 20:23

        *laughing*

      • 222 Susan P May 1, 2014 at 20:43

        *grin*

      • 223 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 12:47

        ==]:-)

    • 224 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 19:30

      No mustache???

      • 225 Susan P May 2, 2014 at 19:39

        Is a mustache required?

    • 226 Symphonist Sepperl May 2, 2014 at 21:13

Yes he is in direct violation of the “fair hair” agreement passed unanimously by the PL board in 2008 making a mustache on his personal emoticon mandatory.

      • 227 Susan P May 3, 2014 at 00:50

        Well, that’s plumb Ri-do-diculous.

      • 228 Professor VJ Duke May 3, 2014 at 18:51

        Rats. I’m always violating something.
