An Announcement Professorish in Nature

Dear Punchy Family:

The Punchy Lands will be dormant for this week. The MicPS Team has some issues (trivial in matter, I assure you) that will be addressed in this time.

(It has to do with design, I think, or something like that.)

Anyway, we should hopefully be back online Monday, May 26th.

We love you all madly.

Keep the turtles safe and close,
P.VJ and the MicPS Team

Alas. My DS is once again overlooked.

    • 2 Susan P May 26, 2014 at 12:50

Tapping my foot awaiting the promised appearance of the PL.

      • 3 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:57

*laughing* It’s here! In all it’s dadblame rotten glory, I fear.

      • 4 Susan P May 26, 2014 at 14:28

Have discovered and replied to some thoughts.

      • 5 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:36

        *bows*

    • 6 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:55

The professor’s insubordinates don’t listen to orders well at all!

      • 7 Susan P May 26, 2014 at 12:57

Tickle them with an ostrich feather doggonit.

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:58

I think they need a rod!

      • 9 Susan P May 26, 2014 at 14:27

What kind of rod? A hot rod or some other thing?

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:35

        A steel rod!

      • 11 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 10:33

I think it would be better to make them eat at Ruber’s restaurant.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:53

        It’s supposedly tasty there now.

      • 13 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 14:16

So I heard…but why do half of the customers come out with blue faces?

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:58

        They had ice-cream?

      • 15 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 16:10

        Blue ice cream?

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:13

        And it’s tasty! Blueberry!

      • 17 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 16:18

        With coconut whip?

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:47

        Oh, that sounds good.

      • 19 Susan P May 28, 2014 at 11:22

        And so it is!!!

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:05

        Never tried the stuff.

      • 21 Susan P May 28, 2014 at 16:15

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s yummy. But it doesn’t ship well.

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:34

        How about fly?

      • 23 Susan P May 28, 2014 at 18:56

I might make it if packed properly and kept refrigerated. However, it might be easier if you did it yourself. All you need is a well-chilled can of full fat coconut milk and a mixer. Pour the milk into the mixer bowl, add some vanilla flavoring and a sweetener like maple syrup or honey. Whip until you can scoop it with a spoon. Keeps in fridge.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:39

That sounds really tasty. And not at all complicated. I’ll have to ask Mr. Pierpod about it.

      • 25 Susan P May 29, 2014 at 13:53

Oh, it is! Yummy. And healthy all at the same time.

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:44

        Healthy? Nonsense!

      • 27 Susan P May 30, 2014 at 12:55

        No, but it is.

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 13:07

        I believe you, I think.

      • 29 Susan P May 30, 2014 at 14:56

It’s always a bonus when something yummy is good for you, too.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:50

Unless you’re the professor. Then all the tasteless things are bad for you.

      • 31 Susan P May 31, 2014 at 18:37

        It can be both.

  2. 32 Catherine May 21, 2014 at 22:52

Oh dear. I just read this! How incredibly depressing. No wonder I haven’t seen any new posts!

    • 33 Symphonist Sepperl May 22, 2014 at 00:37

Are you sure it’s not credibly impressing? I believe that is what the prof. was aiming for.

      • 34 Catherine May 22, 2014 at 19:49

*laughs* well, I guess it’s credibly impressing as well!

    • 35 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:52

We’ll be back! I promise by my boot strings.

      • 36 Catherine May 22, 2014 at 19:53

Ahaha that’s good to know! I’ll be looking forward to it. (I hope those boot strings are reliable.)

      • 37 Professor VJ Duke May 23, 2014 at 14:50

*laughing* Me too. They look weak!

      • 38 Catherine May 25, 2014 at 00:25

Better get new ones just in case! Or make sure they stay safe. You can never be too careful with boot strings!

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke May 25, 2014 at 17:15

Very true! *looks for his boots*

      • 40 Catherine May 26, 2014 at 16:22

Hahaha oh dear! Maybe it’s too late for that now.

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:40

        No! I’m hopeless, huh?

      • 42 Catherine May 27, 2014 at 15:51

Well, if you believe in yourself, then no. (I’ve heard that that’s how it works.) but I don’t think you’re hopeless! Maybe just a little confused…

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:02

        Hopelessly confused!

      • 44 Catherine May 28, 2014 at 15:56

Not quite hopelessly, I think. Maybe approaching hopelessness, but then again, a LOT of us are. So you’re not alone! (In case you were worried)

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:33

Well, many thanks. *bows* Somewhat worried, I think!

      • 46 Catherine May 31, 2014 at 00:03

        You’re welcome!
What has the professor to worry about?

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 11:59

Oh, just about being hopelessly confused!

      • 48 Catherine June 3, 2014 at 02:10

Hmm, I feel like we’re going in circles.

But don’t worry- most people are hopelessly confused, I’ve noticed, so you don’t have to…worry. About worrying. :)

      • 49 Professor VJ Duke June 3, 2014 at 12:32

*laughing lots* Okay! Thanks, Catherine. My mind can be a hopeless wreck at times, and I’m not sure why.

      • 50 Catherine June 3, 2014 at 17:36

        Haha you’re welcome!

I sympathize. I have those moments, too. They can get a bit annoying!

      • 51 Professor VJ Duke June 3, 2014 at 18:46

They can! The brain needs taken out and massaged, I think.

      • 52 Catherine June 4, 2014 at 02:42

        *laughing* never tried that!

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke June 4, 2014 at 12:47

Me neither. I bet it’s not possible.

      • 54 Catherine June 5, 2014 at 02:58

There’s a first time for everything! I just don’t want to be the first to try it…

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke June 5, 2014 at 14:18

I meant it’s probably impossible! We shouldn’t try it.

      • 56 Catherine June 5, 2014 at 17:29

Good idea- I was a little skeptical of it at first anyway. Sounds dangerous.

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke June 5, 2014 at 19:47

        We should have lollipop’s instead.

      • 58 Catherine June 6, 2014 at 04:34

*laughing* I definitely like that idea better!

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke June 6, 2014 at 13:51

        We’re on, then!

      • 60 Catherine June 8, 2014 at 01:52

Yay! I don’t think I can ever turn down lollipops.

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke June 8, 2014 at 15:05

        Yes, me neither!

  3. 62 icedmocha34 May 21, 2014 at 02:03

You’re leaving us?!?!?!? Come back soon!! God bless you!

    • 63 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:46

God bless you too, Em! I shall return more professorish than ever–which might be scary.

      • 64 icedmocha34 May 21, 2014 at 18:58

Wow, yeah, that would be freaky…But kinda awesome too! Can’t wait til you return! God bless!!

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 19:32

*laughing lots* Awesome reply, there, Em. *smiles bigly*

      • 66 icedmocha34 May 21, 2014 at 19:34

^_^ Um, thanks? I tried smiling bigly the other day and my mom thought that something was seriously wrong with me…

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 19:48

Oh dear… (Yes, it was a compliment, I’m rather sure.) Did you blame me? I do it all the time.

      • 68 icedmocha34 May 21, 2014 at 19:49

Ok, then thanks! Yeah, I kinda blamed you and the coffee I’d just chugged. And that I had just watched Theo James being all hot in “Divergent”, so….yeah. ^_^

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:47

Does he burn up in that movie? Never seen it.

      • 70 icedmocha34 May 22, 2014 at 21:03

Harharhar, not he does not burn up. You should see it! Shame on the professor! It’s the best movie in the world!

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke May 23, 2014 at 14:50

It can’t be the best! Am I in it?

    • 72 Symphonist Sepperl May 22, 2014 at 00:40

You should never chug coffee. Coffee was developed for a higher purpose. I suggest blowing bubbles in it then eating the bubbles of a spoon one by one. They will last longer that way.

  4. 73 The Reading Girl May 20, 2014 at 22:21

Mr. Professor I will miss you so! Good luck and can’t wait for what is to come

    • 74 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:45

Yazmin! The professor is honored. I shall see you in a little for sure!

      • 75 The Reading Girl May 21, 2014 at 22:26

        haha :) yes :D

  5. 76 Me, Myself and DIY May 20, 2014 at 11:19

Come back soon and good luck with your tasks at hand!

    • 77 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:38

Many professorish thanks! I shall return.

  6. 78 bardictale May 20, 2014 at 10:21

Your tea is eagerly awaiting your return.

    • 79 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 13:59

      Or coffee in my case…

      • 80 bardictale May 20, 2014 at 15:46

        How do you like it?

    • 81 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 18:15

My coffee? Black sometimes and other times with a little sugar. How do you like it/or not?

Tea, when I have it, with a dash of milk.

      • 82 bardictale May 21, 2014 at 19:51

I prefer smelling coffee to drinking it, but when I do, it’s black.

Wonderful then. You’ll have a cup of both waiting for you, along with some cookies.

    • 83 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:37

Thank you, Bard. I bet it’s Cherry!

      • 84 bardictale May 21, 2014 at 19:52

        Spot on as usual, professor.

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:49

Aw, that’s just awesome of you.

  7. 86 Jackie May 19, 2014 at 23:32

Good luck! See you soon. :-)

    • 87 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:10

      Thanks, Jackie!

      • 88 Simply Skeptical May 20, 2014 at 13:24

        Uh-uhaaaaaaaa!

    • 89 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 14:00

      What does that mean?

      • 90 Jackie May 20, 2014 at 14:02

Ask the Professor! He seemed to have no problem understanding what I wrote.

    • 91 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 16:12

That was presumptuous. I was referring to the phonetical exclamation directly under the professor’s comment.

      • 92 Jackie May 20, 2014 at 17:08

My aplologies – when I first read your comment it seemed like you asked me. Obviously, I was wrong. That’s what I get for checking WordPress with my iPhone.

    • 93 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 17:19

That’s OK. :) A little back and forth never hurt anyone. I patrol these forums looking for a fight to pick usually anyway!

      • 94 Jackie May 20, 2014 at 17:21

        :-) have fun!

    • 95 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 18:42

      I shall try, thank you.

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:41

Symph is like a rotten warrior of types.

  8. 97 E. May 19, 2014 at 23:15

Aww, boo. Looking forward to next week!

    • 98 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:10

      See you then, E!

  9. 99 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 19, 2014 at 19:34

*frowning* I’m going to become a damsel in distress, you know.

    • 100 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:07

That’s cute. But can a dragon save a damsel?

      • 101 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 20, 2014 at 02:53

I sincerely hope so, Duketh. I can’t live without him.

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:34

        Aw! *hides in the pillow*

      • 103 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 21, 2014 at 19:48

*laughs because she already has it*

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:47

        I had it!

      • 105 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 22, 2014 at 19:46

We could share it. Scootch over…

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke May 23, 2014 at 14:49

        *does it*

      • 107 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 23, 2014 at 18:55

*smiles* “It’s nice here…” *looks at the sky*

      • 108 Professor VJ Duke May 25, 2014 at 17:13

I think I see some bugs flying about.

      • 109 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 26, 2014 at 02:58

I think I do, too. Look a kite!

      • 110 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:57

        We should fly a kite.

      • 111 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 26, 2014 at 13:07

Yes, one of those huge ones. Can it be a dragon kite or maybe a big red fish?

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 13:44

A red fish! Love that idea.

      • 113 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 26, 2014 at 15:39

        *smiles* Lots of streamers, too.

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:38

        *smiles bigly*

      • 115 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 26, 2014 at 23:22

…*wondering if he went to get the kite*

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:47

*comes back with a grenade* Let’s throw this!

      • 117 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 27, 2014 at 16:20

*laughs bunches* Did you bring me a helmet? And one for yourself? I don’t want anything happening to that brain of yours.

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:50

You don’t need one! I can hurl far. And the brain is already gone…

      • 119 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 27, 2014 at 23:14

If you say so! *ducks and covers* Where did it go, Duke? To the desert?

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 11:56

*boom* We blew up a toad.

      • 121 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 15:09

A toad? Are they bugging you by the pond already?

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:20

Yes, I think their season is passing, though.

      • 123 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 20:23

        Which makes you happy. *smiles*

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:48

        Yes it does, Audith!

      • 125 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 29, 2014 at 15:22

        Wow!!

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:47

        Goodness! What?

      • 127 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 29, 2014 at 18:10

I feel sorry for the toads. You don’t like them very much.

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:48

        They hated me first!

      • 129 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 30, 2014 at 13:49

No they didn’t, Duke. They croak out of love. If one was a toad, wouldn’t you want to croak?

      • 130 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:46

No! Because there could be an evil professor lurking nearby.

      • 131 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 31, 2014 at 02:18

A valid point, Sir. I’d risk it if I were a toad..

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 12:00

        *smiles*

      • 133 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 20:55

        Which you are happy about…

  10. 134 Simply Skeptical May 19, 2014 at 18:31

Yikes! Thank goodness its sunny here today or I’d really be blue. Get that fix or dazzle that creativity Prof. This is going to be a long dull week…

    • 135 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:06

Oh, nonsense! The professor is the dullest.

  11. 136 erinkenobi2893 May 19, 2014 at 16:17

I hope this is cleared up soon, and see you next week. :-) May the Force be with you!

    • 137 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:02

      And you, Erin!

      • 138 erinkenobi2893 May 20, 2014 at 13:11

        :-)

  12. 139 desertdweller29 May 19, 2014 at 16:12

Well, I was looking forward to my punchy fix, Professor, but I can wait. Patience is a wretched virtue though… :)

    • 140 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:01

*laughing lots* I love how you explained it. I hate patience!

  13. 141 technophile9 May 19, 2014 at 15:59

Nooo! Come back soon. ;) I’ll try and keep the turtles together as best as I can.

    • 142 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:01

That’s spot on, Joe. The turtles, I fear, are always leaving the pond. We’ll be back soon!

  14. 143 Sourcerer May 19, 2014 at 15:26

We’ll miss you for sure, Professor, but no worries. We’ll be here when you return. Hope everything gets worked out :-)

    • 144 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:00

Thanks so much. We will be back sooner than thought possible
      1

      • 145 Sourcerer May 20, 2014 at 00:03

        Well, that’s always a good sign ;-)

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:11

I know it’s confusing, but I think it just may work that way.

  15. 147 Bethy May 19, 2014 at 14:35

Well bummer. There was a turtle in my driveway Saturday and I let it get away!

    • 148 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:58

No way! But why? Such dadblamery!

      • 149 Bethy May 20, 2014 at 10:52

Yes way. Why was it in my driveway? I have no idea. I am actually surprised I didn’t back over it as I am not the most skilled backer upper and I never expected to see a turtle in my driveway. Why I let it get away…well it was a bit large to try and keep around.

      • 150 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:38

*laughing* I can’t back up well either! Turtles just scooting about–what an interest. Are you by the beach?

      • 151 Bethy June 3, 2014 at 10:52

I am not by the beach and there is no swamp ’round here either! I have no idea what a turtle was doing in my landlocked yard!

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke June 3, 2014 at 12:34

        It fell from above, then!

      • 153 Bethy June 3, 2014 at 18:38

Maybe so. It did walk off though. Maybe it wanted to go swimming in one of the pools in the neighborhood.

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke June 3, 2014 at 18:49

And die in the chlorine. Wonder if that would happen.

      • 155 Bethy June 4, 2014 at 14:04

I don’t know! I really wanted to follow it to see where it was going, but the Princess had a playdate, and she wanted a glass of something to drink, AND she wanted a snack all at once so I had to go do those things.

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke June 4, 2014 at 18:38

*laughing* The Princess really does command, it seems!

      • 157 Bethy June 5, 2014 at 10:33

Well yes…I mean she is the Princess after all!

      • 158 Professor VJ Duke June 5, 2014 at 14:21

I never thought about the nickname like that! I’m really dull.

      • 159 Bethy June 9, 2014 at 10:32

Not dull. That’s why there are different people in the world…to get different perspectives on things!

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke June 9, 2014 at 13:31

        And professorish perspectives.

  16. 161 walt walker May 19, 2014 at 13:51

Oh dear, my turtles are already acting up. I am not sure I can hold it together for a whole week.

    • 162 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:55

*laughing* Do they have an inside pond?

      • 163 walt walker May 19, 2014 at 20:43

They did. They have kind of had their way with things. I keep shouting at them, “In or Out!”

      • 164 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:09

        Can’t you pick them up?

      • 165 walt walker May 20, 2014 at 00:33

But then I would be holding them. How would I open doors or eat cereal?

      • 166 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:33

Well, maybe you’d have to go on a diet–which would be a wonder and a half.

  17. 167 Debbie May 19, 2014 at 13:41

Gonna miss you and the gang, Professor — fix those issues and hurry back soon!

    • 168 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:55

I will fix them faster than greased lightning if I can help it.

  18. 169 The Dancing Rider May 19, 2014 at 13:36

See you and the team soon!

    • 170 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:55

      Many thanks, DR!

  19. 171 L. Marie May 19, 2014 at 13:20

Oh man!!!! Hope everything will be okay soon.

    • 172 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:55

Yes, all is just fine! A little planning is all. Thanks!

  20. 173 FictionFan May 19, 2014 at 12:42

Is ‘design’ a euphemism for ‘war’?? *scared face*

Oh well, chocolate consumption figures in Scotland may show a sharp increase this week – buy shares…

    • 174 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:54

      Well…well…you caused the war, madam!

White, dark, or milk, I wonder…

      • 175 FictionFan May 19, 2014 at 15:06

Oh dear! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! Oh dear! I didn’t mean to. Am sending peaceful thoughts and suggest you buy huge box of choccies for sharing purposes to smooth the peace talks…but no fighting over the coffee creams. Remember that the final treaty must be signed in blood or it’s not valid… (I’ll leave you to decide whose blood…)

This is an emergency situation – I’ll take anything that’s going!

      • 176 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:00

*laughing lots* Well, I’ll probably end up getting killed. Seriously, you didn’t cause it. I say that to ease your mind, and your conscience, I think. A conscience is an interesting specimen now that you bring it up.

        Cherry chocolate’s always cheapio.

      • 177 FictionFan May 20, 2014 at 12:19

*gulps* Ooh, no – you can’t be killed! Who would I dance with then? Nope, you’ll just have to restrict yourselves to beating each other about the head with each other’s femurs – that should resolve the issues! My conscience feels a little better now – thank you!

        Yes…there’s probably a reason for that…

      • 178 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:40

Haha! Just consider it alike to being under attack by white apes! That’s the thrill of the whole thing. The professor might be about to go on an adventure.

Well, if I ever meet you, I know to bring those coffee chocolates now.

      • 179 FictionFan May 21, 2014 at 15:04

Well, I’m hoping peace has broken out by now and the invitations to the celebration ball are on their way. Ooh, what kind of adventure? Yeti-hunting?

        Yummy! (Or violet creams!)

      • 180 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 19:32

A celebration ball? Only ladies attend balls. So, count me out.

No, it’s more boring in that. And very scary!

Violet creams…do they make red ones?

      • 181 FictionFan May 21, 2014 at 22:42

Spit-tooey! Don’t talk so much piffle, dear Prof! It wouldn’t be much of a ball if it was only girls, now, would it? Tchah! The Professor shall attend and shall dance the first two dances with FF or Woola the Cat will be sent to track him down…

Is it top-secret? And more importantly will it be fun?

Strawberry creams…mmm…or raspberry…yum…or rose creams (ooh I love rose creams!) *drools unattractively*

      • 182 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:51

You know what! I’ve just realized why I can’t dance! I’ve got two left feet. Oh dear! Now that’s clever, I think.

Not necessarily top-secret. You could know in time! I don’t know. The professor would be nervous.

Well, I’d bring them. But you’d have to do 10 pushups per candy eaten. I think that’s fair.

      • 183 FictionFan May 22, 2014 at 18:27

Oh, my goodness! You’re not a Thark, are you?? Two of each?

I shall wait with eager anticipation for it to be revealed then. Meantime, good luck…and don’t forget to take your katana…

Now, that is just soooo mean! 10?? Do you want FF to end up with arms like Rafa’s??

      • 184 Professor VJ Duke May 23, 2014 at 14:48

Well, I’m not green. And I’m not…well, what are they again exactly? I keep picturing them like my hero, Tash.

I’ll actually probably leave it behind… *laughing*

That’s impossible! You won’t be able to build muscle like that. Don’t worry about that happening. Though I’ve heard that pushups can be dangerous for women to do.

      • 185 FictionFan May 23, 2014 at 17:41

Big, green, six-limbed, ugly. Are you sure you’re not like that? Wasn’t Tash a baddie?

*not laughing, because she doesn’t know what we’re talking about so doesn’t know what’s funny*

Hmm…that sounds like a challenge – but I think I’ll concede defeat. I don’t feel it would be a good look on me (though it’s yummy on Rafa – strange). All exercise is dangerous…

      • 186 Professor VJ Duke May 25, 2014 at 17:13

The professor is a baddie too!

Haha. Yes, I’m being cruel–in a nice way.

Especially professorish exercise. Rafa is not yummy!

      • 187 FictionFan May 25, 2014 at 23:31

        Well, but baddies are good…

*makes a rude gesture, but in a very delicate and ladylike way*

Yes, I wouldn’t be too keen on bashing my head against trees, for some reason. Oh, yes, he is!! (The French Open has started – FF is so excited!)

      • 188 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:56

        Especially professorish ones!

*laughing* I’d love to see what that’d look like. I think a rude gesture is very ladylike anyway.

*horribly scary and rotten scowling face* Has it? Coolio! I’ll try to catch some. Who are we rooting for? Just Rafa?

      • 189 FictionFan May 26, 2014 at 17:56

        Indeed! Look at Zez, f’rinstance…

One day, I will show you! *severe face*

*giggles* We’re openly rooting for Andy because he’s Scottish. But in our secret heart of hearts, we’re rooting for Rafa, because he’s…Rafa! But don’t tell anyone…not till Andy’s out anyway.

      • 190 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:42

F’rinstance… Wow. That’s a special word, for sure. I must memorize it.

*the professor doesn’t look scared in the least*

Hahaha! Not a lot of faith in Andy I see!

      • 191 FictionFan May 26, 2014 at 23:07

        Bet you’ve forgotten it already…

Sssshhhhhhh! I said not to tell anyone!! I warn you – if I get thrown out of Scotland, I’ll have to come and live in America… *terror-stricken face at thought of a lifetime of watching baseball*

      • 192 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:44

I have not! Don’t you have faith in my memory? Now Andy and my memory are crying.

You could come here, if you’d like. I only watch baseball every so often. Plus, you could have tater tots. Does BUS know you hate Andy in favor of Rafa?

      • 193 FictionFan May 27, 2014 at 18:07

I fear the Professor’s memory has given me no reason to have faith (much like Andy playing on clay, in fact…)

Ooh, I think the tater tots have swung the deal! Book the tickets for the ball game and get in a stock of popsicles – I’m on my way!! Huh! She’s worse than me – she likes Federer – yucketh!

      • 194 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:55

But I’ve got a great one! You should test it some day.

I’ll send Schwarz in an airplane.

Federer…he looks kinda cool. What the hate?

      • 195 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 00:28

OK – what date is Burns Night?

        Yay! I’ll be waiting… (but…there will be a qualified pilot, won’t there?)

I don’t hate him exactly – I just wish he’d stop beating everybody I like all the time! And he’s kinda smug about it…

      • 196 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 11:59

        It’s in January.

I might come. Though I’ve never flown a plane.

Hahaha! He’s good, then. Well…I’d fetch him.

      • 197 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 15:36

Not bad! Not bad at all! But if you don’t narrow it down, you’ll need to eat haggis for the full month…

How hard can it be? I’m sure you’d be a natural! *phones travel insurance company and trebles her cover*

Do! It’s time someone did. He’s also ancient but still his knees aren’t wobbly – isn’t that really annoying?

      • 198 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:31

        Uhh…January 16th? Or 8th? No! The 9th?

*laughing* Thanks for the faith! Actually, you’re right: it wouldn’t turn out well.

        He’s only 32!

      • 199 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 20:23

        *chuckling* 3 down – 28 to go…

But 32 is ancient for a tennis player! They’re not timeless like Professors, you know!

      • 200 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:48

        The 6th!

Rafa’s so dreadfully close to that. So you must think he’s old too.

      • 201 FictionFan May 29, 2014 at 18:41

Nah! But when he does get old, I’ll just discard him and find a new hero…

      • 202 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:55

        How horribly…base…

      • 203 FictionFan May 30, 2014 at 16:46

        *chuckles* Were you shocked?

      • 204 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:53

        Yes!

  21. 205 Susan P May 19, 2014 at 12:36

Oh well. My week got shot to heck first thing on Monday morning. Alas. Might as well go back to bed. ;)

Best wishes to all of you!

    • 206 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:53

Now the professor feels so rotten bad. (Plus, a little bit wicked or malevolent.)

We’ll be back, I think! And to you, Susan!

      • 207 Susan P May 19, 2014 at 16:29

Change is good, they tell me.

      • 208 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:06

        Yes, and annoying sometimes.

      • 209 Susan P May 20, 2014 at 19:39

Both and. I hope all is going well and that we shall open next week surprised and smiling.

      • 210 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:45

Thanks so much, Susan. Yes, I plan to!

      • 211 Susan P May 21, 2014 at 13:38

        WOOT!

      • 212 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 19:29

        Indeed!

      • 213 Susan P May 21, 2014 at 19:29

        Necessarily.

      • 214 walt walker May 20, 2014 at 00:34

A tree could fall. Turtles could attack.

      • 215 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:33

And snapping turtles are the worst.

    • 216 walt walker May 19, 2014 at 20:42

I’ve tried going back to bed. I’ve learned that it does not necessarily prevent anything terrible from happening.

      • 217 Professor VJ Duke May 20, 2014 at 00:09

What could possibly happen in bed?

      • 218 walt walker May 23, 2014 at 20:50

Just found out today that Jurickson Profar, second baseman for the Texas Rangers, reinjured his already injured shoulder by rolling over wrong in bed. He will be out for 8-12 weeks. So don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Although this is a highly “suspicious” injury, if you ask me, where me = Walt. And by suspicious, I mean it raises one or more eyebrows. On multiple folks, of course, with only one eyebrow raised per folk. Two raised eyebrows on one folk would indicate surprise, not suspicion. You see how that works, I trust. I’m rambling now.

      • 219 Professor VJ Duke May 25, 2014 at 17:14

I like when you ramble. It maybe gets gardoobling. Now, I think he injured himself on dadblame purpose!

      • 220 Symphonist Sepperl May 20, 2014 at 14:04

But would it matter what happens if you are soundly sleeping?

      • 221 Susan P May 20, 2014 at 19:29

Well, there goes another myth out the window.

      • 222 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 12:42

I know. *sigh* They just fly out too.

      • 223 Susan P May 21, 2014 at 13:40

It would be nice if they would stay for tea.

      • 224 Professor VJ Duke May 21, 2014 at 19:29

        And cookies.

      • 225 Susan P May 22, 2014 at 11:35

        And donuts?

      • 226 Professor VJ Duke May 22, 2014 at 15:52

I like them, but they’re not good for exercise.

      • 227 Susan P May 22, 2014 at 17:47

Wait…how are cookies better for you than donuts?

      • 228 Professor VJ Duke May 23, 2014 at 14:44

        Well…oatmeal cookies have to be!

      • 229 Susan P May 23, 2014 at 15:06

I have a paleo-like cookie recipe – just had a snack of two of them. They are made with almond flour, chocolate chips and eggs, vanilla and not sure if there is anything else unless I look up the recipe. They are good.

      • 230 Professor VJ Duke May 25, 2014 at 17:09

        They sound dreadfully tasty.

      • 231 Susan P May 25, 2014 at 19:09

Oh, it’s even better than that. They are even actually good for you.

      • 232 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:52

That means there has to be protein!

      • 233 Susan P May 26, 2014 at 14:29

        Eggs.

      • 234 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 19:36

        Oh yes…

      • 235 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 10:35

        :D

      • 236 walt walker May 25, 2014 at 21:51

I make my cookies out of gin and green olives.

      • 237 Professor VJ Duke May 26, 2014 at 12:55

Walt! That could be dreadful. Are they eaten for dinner?

      • 238 walt walker May 27, 2014 at 01:09

        After dinner, with milk.

      • 239 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:51

*laughing* Walt! You can’t do that. I imagine the stomach isn’t in good order after.

  22. 240 PorterGirl May 19, 2014 at 12:02

Oh no! This has saddened my week :( I hope you chaps are all well and are able to resolve whatever it is.

I will be missing you and the team, Professor!

    • 241 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:52

Aw, thanks, Lucy! Yes, all’s fine. We’re just thinking about new options is all.

I’m always floating somewhere, I think.

      • 242 PorterGirl May 19, 2014 at 14:55

Sounds quite exciting! I wish you all the very best of luck with it and look forward to next Monday :)

      • 243 Professor VJ Duke May 19, 2014 at 14:58

        For sure! Thanks so much!
