In the Desert

“I still don’t understand why you brought a bathtub into the desert!” Fats Henry scolded.

Schwarz Tauptinker dropped the bathtub he was carrying. “What if I need a bath?”

“There’s not water here in the desert!” Henry roared. “Isn’t it obvious? I mean, look around you. If we don’t find something drinkable soon, we’re going to die! That means, we don’t have time to waste water on baths!”

“Not my fault the car broke down…” Schwarz mumbled.

“Oh yes it is! The added weight of the bathtub on top of my car destroyed it in the end!”

“Na!” Schwarz said. “The car’s used to a lot of weight. Oh yeah chicky!”

“You think you’re smart, huh?” Henry asked.

Schwarz nodded.

“Only every so often! Which makes you stupid more often!”

Schwarz laughed. “I gotta think about that one, haha.”

Henry crossed his arms and waited while Schwarz thought.

“Okay,” Schwarz concluded. “Still don’t know what you meant—chickit!”

“Never mind.”

The two walked on for some time. Then they arrived here.

“Break time,” Schwarz announced. “Let’s set the tub up behind those trees, and have a cool refreshing bath.”

Henry looked rather angry. “We…don’t…have…any…water!”

“Don’t worry about that,” Schwarz said. “It’s going to rain real soon. I can feel rain in the air.”

Henry scowled magnificently. Then he looked around. “If it rains, I’ll be a mummy!”

Schwarz set the tub on the ground and sat down. “Now we must wait.”

“Not me!” Henry said. “If only I had something to ride! Walking is so tiresome.”

“You broke your car.”

Henry huffed. “An animal would be just fine!”

“Yeah,” Schwarz agreed, “one of those mooses with a hump would be nice. Let’s just wait for the rain to come.”

“No!”

And Henry left.

As soon as Henry was out of sight, Schwarz noticed the camel.

fixed

“Well, tell you what, I’ll take the beast to get some water. Chickit! Then, I’ll come back and have a nice bath.”

And, yes, that was the professor’s camel.

Hey, that moose has food AND water in that hump. And it could serve as a ride too. Win-win situation! Well, except the Professor would lose his camel!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:44

*laughing* But do you suppose it might share the water in that hump, Lesley?

      • 3 Lesley May 29, 2014 at 17:51

hahahahahahahahaha oh you killed me here haha! Because, I didn’t imagine it using its own water internally. No, I imagined it with an open hump, sharing water from a cup with FH and Schwarz

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:55

*laughing lots and lots* Lesley! That’s hilarious. I’m going to be laughing about that all day!

      • 5 Lesley May 29, 2014 at 18:00

haha this is so funny to me! I’m just imagining your camel standing there with an open hump making small talk with two strangers drinking his water with him! *Actually laughing out loud*

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:47

Lesley! I love how you said that. *professor laughing out loud too* What I wouldn’t give to see that, you know!

      • 7 Lesley May 30, 2014 at 12:58

hahaha I’d love to see it too! It’s just funny to imagine! FH: “Thank you Camel. My thirst is gone.” Camel: “Ah don’t mention it mate.”

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 13:08

*laughing lots* And then, do you suppose the camel can shut up the stand, so to speak?

      • 9 Lesley May 30, 2014 at 13:18

Haha now that would be a challenge. Perhaps s/he’d keep an open mind about it?

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:45

*laughing* S/he’d have to! What a glory.

  2. 11 Hazy May 28, 2014 at 14:59

Nice camel! Looking all punchy in the desert.

    Mooses with a hump

I didn’t realize Schwarz was so adamant about taking baths… Does that mean he often smells nice and clean?

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:18

Looking all Punchy… *laughing lots* I love how you said that!

      I know. Schwarz… *shakes head*

Yes, I would guess so. It is odd, isn’t it?

      • 13 Hazy May 29, 2014 at 23:40

        Why, thank you, professor!

Yeah! I wouldn’t have pegged him to be a bath person. I wonder what he smells like? I imagine a bit of a lemony or limey scent for some reason…

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 13:01

That’s a definite possibility. Do you think that’s a good scent?

      • 15 Hazy June 5, 2014 at 12:44

Lemony? I suppose so, though it does remind me of the smell of the inside of a taxi or dishwashing liquid… I think I prefer the scent of apples.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke June 5, 2014 at 14:25

*nods* I see what you mean. Or the smell of a waterfall. (Not sure what one smells like, though.)

      • 17 Hazy June 9, 2014 at 11:40

I imagine the smell of a waterfall is a tad like soil or rocks, maybe… I’ve never been close to a large waterfall though. Just a tiny one (I didn’t notice the smell, I was too busy shivering from the cold water washing over me! *laughs*)

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke June 9, 2014 at 13:35

You were standing under it? Now that’s neat. I’ve been to Niagara Falls.

      • 19 Hazy June 10, 2014 at 11:52

Hmm… more like sitting under it. And it wasn’t nearly as incredible as Niagara Falls! (far from it, actually, more like a baby waterfall)

What was your impression of Niagara Falls?

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke June 10, 2014 at 13:50

        I love baby waterfalls!

Well, it was big, and very cold. Wasn’t that impressive. I mean, I think Angel Falls would be cooler!

      • 21 Hazy June 12, 2014 at 13:33

*nods* baby waterfalls are not too scary.

Angel Falls sounds great! I’ve never been to South America.

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke June 12, 2014 at 14:26

Me neither. I’ve only been to Canada, actually. I’d like to travel, I think.

      • 23 Hazy June 13, 2014 at 12:18

Ooh, I’ve never been to Canada either. I need to travel more too, but it can get quite expensive. I wish money grew on trees!

Any specific place you really, really want to visit? (mine’s Greece!)

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke June 13, 2014 at 17:07

Yes! We should get trees that grow money. I’m sure they have to exist in the PL.

Oh! Greece would be lovely to see. Why there? I think I’d like to Italy, actually!

      • 25 Hazy June 17, 2014 at 12:01

It would be great to find one! And then find a way to smuggle it out of the PL. *smiles mischievously*

I’m a big fan of Greek myths! And it would be so surreal and awesome to visit the Acropolis and Parthenon in Athens, and all those historic places.

Ooh, Italy – excellent choice! In Rome perhaps? Why there?

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke June 17, 2014 at 13:00

Yes! Weatherly could do it for us. I wonder how it all works…the growing of money and all that.

Cool! Yes, I kinda remember that you like Percy Jackson! That’s a perfect reason to visit.

Yes, definitely Rome. To see all the ancient sites, I think. Especially the coliseum.

      • 27 Hazy June 18, 2014 at 22:50

Ooh, great idea. I’ll try to talk him into it. I wonder if money trees have some kind of fruits, or just leaves of money bills.

Yes, I do! Thanks for remembering. See the professorish mind is rather good at remembering too! *smiles bigly*

Rome seems wonderful! The coliseum would be interesting. I’d like to ride a Vespa while there too

Speaking of Percy and Rome… there’s a Percy Jackson version with Rome myths in the second series of the books.

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke June 19, 2014 at 01:22

What an interesting thought indeed! I’m not sure, really. It would be great if they did have fruit!

*smiles bigly big, too* I have a great memory, in reality. *proud professorish face*

        What’s a Vespa? I should know, I know…

Is there really? Do they speak about a deer with antlers?

      • 29 Hazy June 22, 2014 at 13:14

        Yay for great memory! *highfives*

Vespa = an Italian brand of scooter. If you’ve seen the movie Roman Holiday, Hepburn and Peck rode it there.

Yes indeed! But I’m not sure they speak about a deer with antlers. But there’s a guy who can turn into a deer, and other animals.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke June 22, 2014 at 19:24

        *highfives!*

I need to see that movie, dadblameit!

        Neatio. Is he bad?

      • 31 Hazy June 23, 2014 at 12:33

*nods* It’s a very good movie.

Nah. He’s the son of Ares, but is a big softie.

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke June 23, 2014 at 13:39

The god of war’s son! that’s cool.

      • 33 Hazy June 25, 2014 at 14:06

*nods* Lots of ’em around. And others too.

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke June 25, 2014 at 15:44

I need to read this series. Have I asked you about the Series of Unfortunate Events?

      • 35 Hazy June 26, 2014 at 13:38

        *nods* It’s pretty fun!

No, not yet. I’ve only read the first 2 books of Unfortunate Events, I think. And I saw the movie. Have you read/seen it?

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:41

I have seen the movie. Long ago. I remember laughing. Do you like the books?

      • 37 Hazy June 28, 2014 at 03:41

The movie was fun! Yes, I did like the books, though I don’t have them in my bookshelves. I think there are 13 books in the series…that’s a lot!

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:34

It is a lot! I think they’re short–which is good.

      • 39 Hazy July 1, 2014 at 12:57

*nods* I need more bookshelves… or more money, actually, to buy the book set!

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 21:00

Yes, we should get those money trees here.

      • 41 Hazy July 2, 2014 at 11:28

*nods* I shall ask Weatherly to try and find one for us to plant.

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 13:46

        Perfect! Thanks, Hazy. *smiles bigly*

  3. 43 E. May 28, 2014 at 00:49

“One of those mooses with a hump…” Ahahahhaa!
It’s a shame Schwartz stole your camel. And I’m wondering why he had a bathtub with him and what they were doing in the desert in the first place….

    • 44 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:02

*laughs too!* I think they were passing through to get to the other side. I think. A bathtub doesn’t make any sense. I mean, it’s impossible in the desert, right?

And I should get my camel back.

  4. 45 Amy Pinkrose May 28, 2014 at 00:01

O-O-O-O-O-O Can I ride your camel, Professor? I’m from the stars you know, and the stars around your camel I just LOVE. Please?

    • 46 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 11:58

What if he spits on you?

      • 47 Amy Pinkrose May 28, 2014 at 12:48

I’ll tell him to bite you.

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:13

Dadblameit! Why would you do that?

      • 49 Amy Pinkrose May 28, 2014 at 19:11

Cause I do NOT like camel spit!

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:41

        How do you know?

      • 51 Amy Pinkrose May 29, 2014 at 12:50

        “Cause spit is slimy! Ewwwwwwww!

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:57

        Even flower spit?

      • 53 Amy Pinkrose May 29, 2014 at 13:15

*rolls eyes* Flowers do not spit. Sorry. Where are YOU getting your info from?

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:38

Well, I had this lily, see, and it let off slimy stuff. Yucketh!

      • 55 Amy Pinkrose May 29, 2014 at 17:39

Yah! Right! And this lily would be? …..

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:53

It was a real one. It stank too. Have you ever smelled those things?

      • 57 Amy Pinkrose May 29, 2014 at 17:56

Like old smelly sneakers from very sweaty stinky feet?

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:46

Oh dear. I hope not! How vexing of you.

      • 59 Amy Pinkrose May 30, 2014 at 13:59

Not really. *shrug* It’s all a part of life you know.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:48

        I do not!

      • 61 Amy Pinkrose May 31, 2014 at 00:55

You do not what? Sorry? No comprehende!

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 11:59

        Woof!

  5. 63 bardictale May 27, 2014 at 17:25

He could have a nice, refreshing sand bath. I hear it’s great for joint and muscle pain.

    • 64 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:54

Ha! We should do it then, yes?

      • 65 bardictale May 28, 2014 at 03:45

        It sounds nice, no?

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:04

        And scary!

      • 67 bardictale May 28, 2014 at 19:21

Why scary? Why is a nice, healing sand bath scary? It’s not like you forgot to check for scorpions…did you?

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:42

Yes that! And, would it burn the skin?

      • 69 bardictale May 29, 2014 at 16:04

Well, if you didn’t check for scorpions, you better hope you don’t sit on one.
Well, no, not unless you’re a snowball. Then you’re in trouble.

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:50

Don’t you think the professor is a type of snowball?

      • 71 bardictale May 30, 2014 at 04:47

No, because he didn’t melt in the ocean. I think he’s a type of knight.

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 13:05

        *smiles proudly* A warrior, too!

      • 73 bardictale June 1, 2014 at 16:57

He should have cookies and tea, to preserve his strength and broaden his horizons;-)

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 12:06

        *laughing*

  6. 75 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 27, 2014 at 16:33

I’m with Schwarz on this one. I’d want a bathtub, as well. However, I would bring someone else to carry it. A lady never carries her own bathtub. One sweats enough out in the desert. I would carry my own towel. I’m easy to work with and do my best to carry the load.

I do wonder what he and Henry are up to. I hope Henry becomes a mummy one day. You know, this weekend I went to the Houston Science Museum and walked through Ancient Egypt. It was super. Mummies are…well…old. I learned a ton!

A nice camel you have there, Duke. I like the red stars.

    • 76 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:53

But would you need one? Shouldn’t such a thing be left home; especially if one’s about an adventure? You do seem easy to work with… *laughing*

Ooo! You should have taken me. I bet that was really coolio indeed. A mummy…Brendan Fraiser!

      That’s my decoration. *smiles proudly*

      • 77 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 01:11

Well, I think maybe I would at some point, don’t you? I mean, I understand that we’re working with a slight chance of finding water, but girl scouts are prepared. Not that I am a girl scout. Which I’m not. I suppose it should be left at home whilst adventuring, but what if I ran into someone I’d like to impress? I don’t want flies buzzing around me. I am the easiest to work with….*giggles* Truly there isn’t an easier person on the planet. I make a good little worker bee.

You didn’t ask…. Have you seen Stargate? I liked that movie. Walking around the exhibit made me think of it.

        Nice detail! *smiles sweetly*

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:03

*laughing* Impress them by showing them your warrior moves! But I guess it is different for a girl. I say smack them all in the face! That’s a good motto, I think. A worker bee? They can be vicious!

Stargate…is there an Egyptian Pharaoh in it?

        *hides*

      • 79 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 15:22

But I don’t have warrior moves. You impress me with yours, however. Smack who in the face? People I want to impress? I don’t think you’d like being smacked in the face. Plus I make it a point not to hit someone who can throw a mean punch or swing a sword. Well, worker bees are vicious, at times, yes. *laughs*

Has a bit to do with Ancient Egypt…have you seen it?

Why are you hiding so much lately? *spots you easily and sits with you because she needs to know more*

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:23

That’s a good point. Ladies are better suited not to do those things. So are men, I suppose. But warriors!

I might have. Is Kurt Russell in it?

Well, I’m trying to start some more projects, and I’m not creative enough!

      • 81 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 28, 2014 at 20:58

Warriors are who they are meant to be, right?

Yes. I believe so…it has been a long time since I’ve seen it. The exhibit just stirred the memory.

        Oh come on…you are creative!

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:53

I think so, actually, they struggle just like the rest of us.

Yes! Then I’ve seen it. It was very cool.

Not enough! I’m wracking my brains over here…

      • 83 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 29, 2014 at 15:36

Yes, and they should always know when to lean on those who love them.

        Yes, it was.

        Wish I could help.

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:48

But they never know, do they?

You do! In more ways than you know, madam!

      • 85 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 29, 2014 at 18:15

No, I guess not. Which is unfortunate, because I’m good at being leaned on, you know.

I would like to know little bits about how that is true, Duketh.

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:50

        I guessed that, but…

Well, this blog–in general–really gave this professor a lot of confidence where all the Punchy (and performing actually) is concerned. I’m starting to do things I never would have dreamed of doing before! And you, Audith, never fail to put a smile on my face or make me laugh. I’m inspired by the PF!

      • 87 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 30, 2014 at 13:51

        Yes, but.

Thank you for sharing that with me, Duketh. *smiles* I love being part of the PF.

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:47

        But what?

*smiles bigly* We’re proud to have you!

      • 89 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister May 31, 2014 at 02:29

You said but, first. .. *laughs* I was asking you. Anyway, I was wondering if you’re a fan of movies. Is that why you want to try something new?

        *smiles*

      • 90 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 12:01

A little bits. I think I am. It all depends!

      • 91 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 2, 2014 at 14:18

        *laughs* Okay, then…

  7. 92 InfiniteZip May 27, 2014 at 15:29

Like the camel, does he get a bath too?

    • 93 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:01

But would you give him one?

      • 94 InfiniteZip May 27, 2014 at 16:03

He would most likely spit at me, they bite and can be mean. I rode one once, it was fun;)

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:12

Really? Cool! Did it look like me?

      • 96 InfiniteZip May 27, 2014 at 16:16

        I little bit;)

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:46

No way! Oh dear. Should I be depressed?

      • 98 InfiniteZip May 28, 2014 at 09:40

No, camels, are cool, except the smokable kind, smoking is bad for you:)

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:04

I hear that! But camels…they spit, and the professor doesn’t.

  8. 100 Louise B. Leger May 27, 2014 at 15:15

haha! I very much enjoyed this one

    • 101 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:01

      That’s made my day!

      • 102 Louise B. Leger May 27, 2014 at 16:31

        Glad to hear kind sir!

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:52

Thank you! (Do you suppose I should be a wicked sir instead? I think it might be cooler.)

      • 104 Louise B. Leger May 28, 2014 at 00:41

Wicked is always way cooler. But that’s not to undermine kindness

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:00

Can you be wicked and kind?

      • 106 Louise B. Leger May 28, 2014 at 14:21

Possibly not always simultaneously. But sometimes you must be wicked to one to be kind to another.

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:17

That’s very wise. And now I’m just professorish.

  9. 108 Debbie May 27, 2014 at 14:54

I can see where Schwarz might wish for a bath in the desert, but not at the expense of drinking water! I don’t see any roads in your pictures — how did they manage to get a car out in the desert in the first place? And where did they think they might find gas? Oh, dear, it seems to me they took off without thinking this thing through (and stealing your camel is only adding fuel to the fire!)

    • 109 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:01

Yes, that was wrong of them for sure!

I think Henry went off the road, sadly. Doesn’t it call into question his brilliance? Then you have Schwarz. I’m not sure what he was about.

  10. 110 erinkenobi2893 May 27, 2014 at 14:15

I like Tauptinker’s somewhat impractical albeit hobbitishly wise outlook. Better than getting angry, like Fats. :-P

    • 111 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:57

Yes, a good outlook always helps. But…wouldn’t you have smacked Schwarz at least once?

      • 112 erinkenobi2893 May 27, 2014 at 15:58

Maybe once if he was really annoying me. He’s too sweet to smack otherwise. ;-)

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:03

Really? I’m flabbergasted. I thought you didn’t like Schwarz.

      • 114 erinkenobi2893 May 27, 2014 at 16:13

I don’t have a crush on him, if that’s what you mean. But otherwise, I think he’s a nice fellow.

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:14

Yes, I was thinking more along the lines of the second. You see, Nick think he’s no good.

      • 116 erinkenobi2893 May 27, 2014 at 16:34

Oh dear. Whatever happened to cause that opinion?

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:53

He’s hard to please. I think he thinks Schwarz is dull.

      • 118 Nicholas Warren--MPS staff member May 28, 2014 at 01:36

Yes, I would say that Schwarz is dull beyond belief. As in my cats are smarter. And so…he annoys me.

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:03

        *laughs* So mean.

  11. 120 Painting Pundit May 27, 2014 at 13:51

How will he get the water back on the camel? Can a camel carry a bathtub full of water? Its your camel. You should know?

I, too, would like to know what they are up to in the desert?

    • 121 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:56

No, I don’t think so. You see, Schwarz is rather dull. I mean, wouldn’t you just leave on the camel and not come back? The professor would.

Maybe they were crossing to get to a new food place?

      • 122 Painting Pundit May 27, 2014 at 16:02

What new food place in the desert?

      • 123 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:12

An Arabian place, maybe. Doesn’t that sound tasty?

  12. 124 L. Marie May 27, 2014 at 13:16

And you just let Schwarz steal your camel?? Well, maybe you can call Manly-Man to help get your camel back.

    • 125 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:54

Well, I was in a helicopter watching. Should I have shot him?

  13. 126 FictionFan May 27, 2014 at 12:59

Schwarzy is soooo innovative and original, isn’t he? Most people would never dream of taking a bathtub to the desert (except probably Manly-Man in case he needed to get rid of any wives in a hurry) but Schwarzy never lets any little difficulty get in his way. And isn’t he such a sweetie-pumpkin-pie when he says “The car’s used to a lot of weight.” Oh yeah, indeed, chicky! *swoons and chuckles simultaneously*

PS I do remember our equally innovative Professor feeling that he couldn’t stay on a desert island unless a shower was installed…

    • 127 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:52

*laughs lots* Sweetie-pumpkin-pie? That’s just awesome. Plus a swoon?! This is horrid. And you know as well as I do that bringing a bathtub in the desert is a bad idea! Where would one get water?

*shock* Did I? Oh dear. You always manage to make me contradict myself. But, the professor could do without showers…forever!

      • 128 FictionFan May 27, 2014 at 18:25

I might start calling the Professor that. Of course I swoon at Schwarzy – what red-blooded woman could resist that combination of charm, innocence and profound intelligence? Not to mention the voice of course – oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, chickit! *sighs* Honestly, Prof – it’s quite simple! you fill it with water before you load it onto the car…

        No, please…don’t.

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:56

*blush* I might do that more often if you do–which is a wonder. Schwarz is…likable! I’ll give you that. But I shan’t say anymore.

Fill it with water before? We’ll just have to do without, right?

*laughing* I bet Rafa does that.

      • 130 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 00:46

Oh, but you know I like to make you blush, Sweetie-Pumpkin-Pie! Likable? He’s at least loveable, possibly even adorable…and cute! (Now, who does that remind me of?)

Good noodles! You’re acting as if that was a silly idea…

Aaah, Rafa! *drifts off into a pleasant little daydream*

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:01

*hides and starts humming* Of Rafa?

I am indeed! The professor only comes up with one every so often, and even then rarely.

        And here comes Ferrari!

      • 132 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 15:50

I’ve decided I prefer C-W-W – it suits you better somehow. Not that you’re not a sweetie-pumpkin-pie, but that doesn’t properly express your Wootiness… No, Rafa is c&a, I admit, but he can’t growl fluffily.

I wonder if Rafa drives a Ferrari… *drifts back into dream*

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:33

*laughing lots* Wootiness… Well, I like it better, too. The other one is scary. I don’t want to growl fluffily either!

        He’s old too!

      • 134 FictionFan May 28, 2014 at 20:37

Good! That’s settled then! Schwarzy’s the only pie in the Punchy Lands!

Nonsense! He’s in his absolute prime! And why some 82-year-old should think a 27-year-old is old baffles me… *narrows eyes suspiciously*

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:50

Maybe I can get Fats Henry to eat him now.

I was only calling him old because you thought the other bloke was. Isn’t that right? Or is it?

      • 136 FictionFan May 29, 2014 at 18:53

        Oh, you’d miss him too…

        No!!

      • 137 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 12:59

Horribly, yes. For as old as the PL is, Schwarz is actually a fairly new character. In fact, he’s the newest character who hit it ‘big’ as it were.

        Well welly!

      • 138 FictionFan May 30, 2014 at 16:54

So is the PL much older than the bloggie PL then? It’s not surprising Schwarzy’s become a star – he’s so talented, and terribly sweet!

        *laughs*

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:54

Much, much older, actually. Those the bloggie PL has developed it somewhat with regards to an ‘outside’ audience.

      • 140 FictionFan May 31, 2014 at 15:55

So Schwarzy really owes his new-found fame to us then? *proud face*

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 12:04

Well, not exactly. He caught on before. There’s been hundreds of characters.

  14. 142 floridaborne May 27, 2014 at 12:59

“Scowled magnificently” sounds so British professorish.

    • 143 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:51

*laughing* Neatio! British professorish. I think you’re right. Is it a good thing, would you say?

  15. 144 Julie Harris May 27, 2014 at 12:45

Nice pet camel… a bathtub without water is no good at all!!

    • 145 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:57

For sure! And I doubt they can count on rain. Does it rain in the desert?

      • 146 Julie Harris May 27, 2014 at 13:00

Only when I cry tears of sadness because there’s no rain…

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:53

Haha! So, it must have been silly of Schwarz, then. Do you live in the desert?

  16. 148 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 12:05

I can see the water – what’s Mr. Henry’s problem? Does he need glasses or what?

I suspect that Schwarz overshot his escape from Florida and ended up in another hot, beast-riddled location.

    • 149 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:57

Well, that first shot was from the professorish helicopter, you see. Henry isn’t that large. But he is large.

*laughing* He just can’t make out, can he? Will you rescue him?

      • 150 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 14:23

Ahhhh, nope. My rescue schedule this week is overflowing already.

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 16:00

        Which is a dadblame pity!

      • 152 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 16:16

That it is, Professor, that it is. Will he be all right?

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:47

        Who?

      • 154 Susan P May 27, 2014 at 21:51

Um, I b’lieve we were discussing the eminent Schwarz T.

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 11:55

Oh, in that case, no. He’s never okay, you know.

      • 156 Susan P May 28, 2014 at 16:13

I get this mental picture of him with hunched shoulders and eyes moving around like he’s waiting for something bad to happen.

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 18:34

He’s too dumb for that! *laughs*

      • 158 Susan P May 28, 2014 at 18:50

Poor thing. How you do talk!

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 12:38

Now don’t you feel bad for him!

      • 160 Susan P May 29, 2014 at 13:52

Well, I don’t feel sorry for him now, but I probably will after I forget his manners on the beach.

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke May 29, 2014 at 17:43

Yes! *laughs* He was rude to you, wasn’t he?

      • 162 Susan P May 30, 2014 at 12:55

I don’t know what possessed him – wanting to go on a vacation.

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 13:07

I should have boxed his ears.

      • 164 Susan P May 30, 2014 at 14:55

The poor dear has already been beaten upon enough. Maybe a pitcher of ice water on his head?

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke May 30, 2014 at 23:50

        That’s worse!

      • 166 Susan P May 31, 2014 at 18:36

        It might wake him up!

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke June 2, 2014 at 12:04

        I think it would!

      • 168 Susan P June 2, 2014 at 15:59

        Be ready to run.

  17. 169 walt walker May 27, 2014 at 12:03

Moose with a hump! :) But where did the antlers go?

    • 170 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:56

I would have loved to ask Schwarz that! Where do you suppose, Walt?

      • 171 walt walker May 27, 2014 at 13:45

        In the hump?

      • 172 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:55

Aha! Very wise. You could be right. I bet he had to chop them up first, though.

      • 173 walt walker May 28, 2014 at 03:53

Gross! I would hate to chop up my own antlers just to put them in my own hump. Poor moose.

      • 174 Professor VJ Duke May 28, 2014 at 12:04

And I think it might hurt.

  18. 175 weggieboy May 27, 2014 at 11:57

Once at the oasis — which presumably they might eventually reach — they’d not want to spoil the water with bath water. The bathtub is a thoughtful effort to avoid polluting the well, so to speak! (Of course, in the meantime, the car’s broken down, the camel will doubtlessly balk at the added weight of a person, let alone a bathtub, and…!)

    • 176 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:55

Hahaha! W…I think you’re right about this. It won’t end well, will it?

  19. 177 PorterGirl May 27, 2014 at 11:49

A lovely looking camel, I must say. Now, what are those two up to in the desert? Dadblamery, no doubt! I like that Schwarz took a bath tub with him. Not as silly as it seems!

    • 178 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:55

It was the professor’s camel, I believe! I’m not sure. I think they were just passing through. But I’d bet dadblamery as well.

That’s true. I guess one could take a bath in the desert. Do you suppose it’s possible?

      • 179 PorterGirl May 27, 2014 at 13:00

Anything is possible in the desert. I hear that sand baths are good for exfoliating the skin, but I cannot imagine that they make you smell any better!

      • 180 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:53

Yes, for sure! Now I’m wondering how they’re good for you…

      • 181 PorterGirl May 27, 2014 at 16:16

If I ever have one, I will let you know :D

      • 182 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 20:47

        Yes, please.

  20. 183 technophile9 May 27, 2014 at 11:48

Schwarz: Avid Adventurer – Master of the Bathtub. ;)

    • 184 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 12:54

*laughing lots* This comment rocks, Joe! Seriously, we should keep that for him, huh?

      • 185 technophile9 May 27, 2014 at 13:22

I think he would be honoured to accept such a title. ;)

      • 186 Professor VJ Duke May 27, 2014 at 15:55

I think he would! I know the professor would.

      • 187 erinkenobi2893 June 6, 2014 at 13:14

        Master of the Bathtub! ^_^

      • 188 Professor VJ Duke June 6, 2014 at 13:54

        Yes, it’s just exceptional, really.

      • 189 erinkenobi2893 June 6, 2014 at 14:04

        :-D He is, though.

      • 190 Professor VJ Duke June 8, 2014 at 14:53

        Schwarz? Nah!

      • 191 erinkenobi2893 June 9, 2014 at 15:49

He’s both normal and exceptional. :-P

      • 192 Professor VJ Duke June 9, 2014 at 20:53

        Well, the professor isn’t normal.

      • 193 erinkenobi2893 June 9, 2014 at 21:24

No, the professor is too awesome to be normal. :-D

      • 194 Professor VJ Duke June 10, 2014 at 13:26

Aw, thanks! But Rosalie won’t give me the double red lightsaber…

      • 195 erinkenobi2893 June 10, 2014 at 20:47

She can be difficult sometimes. :-P And you’d have to be careful not to injure yourself, besides.

      • 196 Professor VJ Duke June 11, 2014 at 12:52

Yes, but Maul did it fine…

      • 197 erinkenobi2893 June 11, 2014 at 13:05

I think Maul had a lot more training. And Obi-Wan says he wouldn’t give up a single blade lightsaber for the world–I don’t blame him. He relies on speed and accuracy rather than brute strength, and the double blades can be a bit unwieldy, so I hear.

      • 198 Professor VJ Duke June 11, 2014 at 13:12

I wonder if the malfunction often.

      • 199 erinkenobi2893 June 11, 2014 at 23:25

        Probably not.
