She can get me back any time.

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke July 6, 2014 at 18:20

      Defend thou self!

      • 3 Susan P July 11, 2014 at 18:19

I’m too tired to defend anything.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke July 12, 2014 at 01:43

        Yes, my arm hurts.

      • 5 Susan P July 12, 2014 at 14:59

From defending? That must have been one heck of an enemy.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 12:45

Yes, it was a birdie and I was hitting it with a tennis racket!

      • 7 Susan P July 14, 2014 at 14:33

        Mikki is upset now.

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 19:43

        Who’s that? I think I spelled that word wrong…

      • 9 Susan P July 14, 2014 at 19:52

        Mikki is my cockatiel.

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 20:03

Oh! Is it a girls name?

      • 11 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 02:23

No, he is a male. He has rosy cheeks. And he sings and warbles.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke July 15, 2014 at 12:47

Warbles…he must teach me how to do that. That’s rather neatio, you know.

      • 13 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 21:19

I’ve taught him to sing a song. He tells you he’s a pretty Mikki bird, too.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 00:45

Does he sing about the professor?

      • 15 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 12:18

No, but he’s a bit like the Professor. He changes the notes occasionally.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 13:12

        How’s he like me, dadblameit? I don’t change notes…well, I do.

      • 17 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 14:12

        On purpose?

When he starts whistling his song, and I join in, he turns his part into a descant.

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 17:30

Of course on purpose! What’s a descant?

      • 19 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 18:35

        http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/descant

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke July 17, 2014 at 00:17

Now, how’s that apply to the professor?

      • 21 Susan P July 17, 2014 at 18:26

Dadblameit, you asked what it was so I sent you a link. Sheesh.

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke July 17, 2014 at 22:41

Yes…but further up there…is the confusing part.

      • 23 Susan P July 18, 2014 at 16:03

Ah, well. Life is full of little mysteries.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke July 18, 2014 at 16:46

        *growls* Susan mysteries!

      • 25 Susan P July 18, 2014 at 17:50

        *says the man of mystery*

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke July 19, 2014 at 01:02

        I am not so not!

      • 27 Susan P July 19, 2014 at 18:24

        Which “you” is not?

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke July 20, 2014 at 15:50

        There’s only one professor!

      • 29 Susan P July 20, 2014 at 21:11

        Alas.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke July 21, 2014 at 13:10

        Hmm…

      • 31 Susan P July 21, 2014 at 13:42

Well, how many do you want?

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke July 21, 2014 at 17:04

I was just a thinking that you didn’t seem to believe me.

      • 33 Susan P July 21, 2014 at 18:41

        I believe all of you.

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke July 22, 2014 at 13:27

        *laughing* Screams and screams!

      • 35 Susan P July 22, 2014 at 13:37

        *puts ear plugs in*

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke July 22, 2014 at 13:45

That’s just a saying. Real professors don’t scream.

      • 37 Susan P July 23, 2014 at 01:37

How come some of mine did?

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke July 23, 2014 at 13:28

        They weren’t professorish!

      • 39 Susan P July 23, 2014 at 17:25

        What were they then?

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke July 23, 2014 at 19:48

        Impostors!

      • 41 Susan P July 23, 2014 at 23:31

        What kind of posters?

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 13:43

        With my pic.

      • 43 Susan P July 24, 2014 at 14:37

        Which pic?

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:02

        The ugly ones of course!

      • 45 Susan P July 24, 2014 at 21:24

        There are none.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:32

        You can’t be sure…can you?

      • 47 Susan P July 26, 2014 at 17:31

        I’m pretty dadblamed certain.

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke July 27, 2014 at 15:43

        And how?

      • 49 Susan P July 30, 2014 at 00:28

They whisper to me when I’m asleep.

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke July 30, 2014 at 16:40

        I thought as much.

      • 51 Susan P July 30, 2014 at 17:34

        What are you saying, huh?

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 13:00

        Nightmares?

      • 53 Susan P July 31, 2014 at 17:05

        More like you know, zombies.

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 23:31

I’m sure Harry will vanquish them for you.

      • 55 Susan P August 1, 2014 at 19:25

        More like George Bailey.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke August 1, 2014 at 22:14

        Yes, he’s a knight, too.

      • 57 Susan P July 17, 2014 at 18:27

And that’s another thing. You’ve got me going around saying dadblameit all of the time and it startles people when a sweet old lady like me says such things.

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke July 17, 2014 at 22:42

*laughing lots* Seriously? That’s awesome. Hmm…hope you don’t say it more often than I do… What’s Harry think?

      • 59 Susan P July 18, 2014 at 16:04

Harry is quite tolerant about my eccentricities. Unless they keep me from getting dinner ready on time.

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke July 18, 2014 at 16:47

Yes, I understand that. Dinner is important, you know. Then the game.

      • 61 Susan P July 18, 2014 at 17:52

        Spaghetti and meatballs.

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke July 19, 2014 at 01:02

        Love it!

      • 63 Susan P July 19, 2014 at 18:24

        Lasagna!

      • 64 Susan P July 14, 2014 at 19:52

        Which word?

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 20:03

        Is it racket or racquet?

      • 66 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 02:24

I think it is the latter. But if you are practicing creative writing…

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke July 15, 2014 at 12:48

Aha! But I’m not a writer, you know. Nick is, I’m not.

      • 68 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 21:19

Didn’t say you were…said you were practicing.

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 00:46

Practicing? Nah. I just write for here to there and there to here. It won’t stop me from writing a Punchy book, but…I’m just a professor.

      • 70 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 12:19

Doubtless you could write some dry boring textbook. ;)

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 13:13

*laughing* I’m incapable! I just have a very dull style…hey, you might be right!

      • 72 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 14:13

        *snickering*

  2. 73 L. Marie June 27, 2014 at 14:10

Congratulations on reaching the 300-post milestone, Professor!
I love this series! I usually wait until I’ve made my breakfast so that I can enjoy it while I eat. But now i’m wondering why Prisoner 1 was so confident that all would be revealed. What does this person know that we don’t know?

    • 74 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:04

Many thanks! Have you reached that? I think you did.

That’s great! Well, he did seem so sure about something. And I’m not sure what it was. I mean…he might have been a bit silly about it. Do you suppose he thought he wasn’t going to die?

      • 75 Sonya Solomonovich June 28, 2014 at 17:27

Hey yeah I wondered about prisoner 1 too. He had a cool voice. I thought he might be Mark Malone… or just someone extremely foolish.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:40

Ah, you know, Sonya, that would be a great voice for MM2…must think on this.

Well, did you like him overall?

      • 77 L. Marie June 30, 2014 at 12:51

Maybe he’s just a very optimistic glass-is-half-full person?
I’m not there yet on the posts. I’m only just past the 210 mark.

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 18:09

Yes, I think that could be the ticket.

Wow. Well…I post too much, I think. You’ll be old, too, in time, dadblameit!

  3. 79 Susan P June 26, 2014 at 23:45

    Manly-man is so swoon-worthy. *sigh*

    • 80 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:21

      But why?

      • 81 Susan P June 27, 2014 at 13:42

Hard to explain. He’s funny, intelligent, imaginative and can leap over Mic’s Pencil Points.

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 20:59

I’ll tweet the beast so he can see this. Maybe I’m jealous.

      • 83 Susan P June 28, 2014 at 22:38

LOL!!!! Now then, Professor. Where would he be without you? *giggle*

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:44

Huff-Hum! Oh, I don’t know. You mean without me, he’s useless?

      • 85 Susan P July 1, 2014 at 16:24

        Busted.

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 21:54

        Maybe…

      • 87 L. Marie June 27, 2014 at 14:22

I agree with Susan P. (Hey, that rhymes.)

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:04

        *laughs* Oh dear!

    • 89 Jazzy Couldren June 27, 2014 at 22:12

Hey, don’t swoon. ‘Cause it ain’t manly. And I’s mean.

      • 90 Susan P June 28, 2014 at 22:38

        Mean your left big toe!

  4. 91 erinkenobi2893 June 26, 2014 at 18:10

    Congratulations! :-)
That was kind of odd. And Prisoner #1 sounded familiar… awfully familiar… I hope the prisoners stuffed the Beast and the Lion from Mars up the Lord Chancellor’s nose.

    • 92 Symphonist Sepperl June 27, 2014 at 12:59

And who might Prisoner #1 remind you of? It is my understanding that it was meant to be suggestive of someone… and I’m sure the studio is quite distraught that nobody noticed…

      • 93 erinkenobi2893 June 27, 2014 at 16:48

Luke Skywalker. Or maybe Obi-Wan Kenobi. Frankly, I haven’t seen any other arena confrontations other than Star Wars ones, so… *shrugs* I wouldn’t quite know.

    • 94 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:05

      Thank you!

He did? Who’d he sound like?

He definitely deserved it. And his sidekick. MM should have saved them all.

      • 95 erinkenobi2893 June 27, 2014 at 16:53

*points to response to the Symphonist’s comment* But to be fully honest, he really sounded a lot less strained than anyone else there.
He should have. But I think Manly-Worf was rather preoccupied, no?

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:08

It was actually a nod to Obi-Wan and Anakin. Sort of reminded the script writers of the scene from Attack of the Clones.

I think so too. It was a pity Schwarz didn’t think about it.

      • 97 erinkenobi2893 June 27, 2014 at 21:19

Ahhh. I thought so. ;-P And if Obi-Wan’s there, he will have stuffed the Beast and the Lion from Mars up the Lord Chancellor’s nose. >:-D
Indeed. Can you do a sequel to Manly-Worf’s call from Worf, and a spin-off about what happened to the other two prisoners? :-)

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:33

I think you could be right. At least, he acted like he was about to win. Or do something strange enough.

We sure can! So, another call with Worf and more info on the other two?

      • 99 erinkenobi2893 June 30, 2014 at 15:34

Sometimes, I think Obi-Wan is only faking to be in danger and laughs up his sleeve at us when we worry. :-P
        Yes, indeed! Thanks! :-D

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 18:18

I think so too. He’s pretty cool. Too bad he let Vader kill him, though.

Okay, I’ll put it on the schedule!

      • 101 erinkenobi2893 June 30, 2014 at 20:00

Well, he was doing it to save Luke.
        Yay! ^_^

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 12:44

And then he didn’t actually really die either.

      • 103 erinkenobi2893 July 1, 2014 at 14:32

What do you mean, he didn’t actually really die? He was dead! He just was dead… and talking… :-P

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 21:20

Well, what happened to his body, then, dadblameit!?

      • 105 erinkenobi2893 July 1, 2014 at 22:22

He died and his body dissolved. I guess? It’s hard to explain. It was meant to symbolize the fact that he had passed on into the afterlife.

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 13:33

Oh, I see. I had always thought something else had happened. Darth Vader seemed rather surprised himself.

      • 107 erinkenobi2893 July 3, 2014 at 17:41

He did, didn’t he? But no, Obi-Wan had really died. But in this case, it was rather a case of letting go of life, rather than being torn from it.

      • 108 Professor VJ Duke July 3, 2014 at 20:44

Yes, I think you’re right. It’s almost as if Obi-Wan was gone before the lightsaber hit.

      • 109 erinkenobi2893 July 4, 2014 at 12:50

        Yes, that’s right. ;-)

      • 110 Professor VJ Duke July 4, 2014 at 17:54

        Then he wasn’t killed!

      • 111 erinkenobi2893 July 5, 2014 at 17:03

        Yes, but he DID die.
In the appendices of “The Lord of the Rings”, Tolkien says that it was given to the Men of Numenor to know the time when they should die and accept their death. I think that’s what happened with Obi-Wan.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke July 6, 2014 at 18:24

        It’s still a pity.

      • 113 erinkenobi2893 July 7, 2014 at 16:09

It is. But the way he could still keep on guiding Luke despite being dead was seriously cool.

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke July 7, 2014 at 16:52

Luke…I never did like the bloke. Darth Duke would have killed him, I bet. Don’t you think so?

      • 115 erinkenobi2893 July 7, 2014 at 17:00

He did seem a bit whiny at the beginning, but he grew up into quite the hero. Though, I don’t think he could really compare, so far as sword skills went, to the masters of the Clone Wars era. Which is sort of sad.

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2014 at 12:12

Very true. Though, in all fairness, he didn’t have the best training. Yoda was too old.

      • 117 erinkenobi2893 July 8, 2014 at 15:05

        Yes. That’s probably why.

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke July 8, 2014 at 16:23

        *nods*

  5. 119 The Dancing Rider June 26, 2014 at 17:33

Congrats on 300th! This title “The Arena” calls to mind a memory of the old, old orginal ST TV series…..lol. Loved this, enjoyed the music, sound effects (especially the gate opening), and graphics.

I would have shot that announcer, too. ;-) The beast sounded awesome. I like he was just plain shot dead. Too bad for #’s 1 and 2 …

But, all is pretty much well aside from that, that ends well! :)

    • 120 Symphonist Sepperl June 27, 2014 at 13:00

You mean you would have killed him? GASP!

      • 121 The Dancing Rider June 27, 2014 at 20:31

Nah, just a flesh wound. Of course that might have resulted in prolonged keening. So on second thought, some duct tape slapped on might have worked better. Lol.

    • 122 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:04

Many thanks! I’m very old now, DR.

You would have shot the announcer? And you call me wicked? Good noodles! Yes, MM could have rescued them, too, don’t you think?

      I think so too!

      • 123 The Dancing Rider June 27, 2014 at 20:32

Yes, I do think he could have! :) (perhaps, as I wrote in reply to Symp S duct tape quickly slapped on might work better….)

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:09

*laughing lots* Duct tape would be painful to take off too. A flesh wound! Goodness me. You’re making me vicious the sudden.

  6. 125 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 26, 2014 at 16:40

Oh, and congratulations on your 300th post! Whoo hoo!!!

    • 126 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:49

Thanks! Now I feel very old.

      • 127 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 26, 2014 at 21:43

        Don’t you always feel old?

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:10

Now that you mention it, no.

  7. 129 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 26, 2014 at 16:38

This story just keeps getting better!! The graphics are amazing, Duke. The green screen has proven that it is worthy of its own chair. I think I was cheering along with them in the arena.

All that being said….the beast is so scary!!! I worry that you roar like that at me! Yikes…can we hear that roar again??
    *smiles*

    • 130 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:49

*bows* Seriously, thanks so much. But the screen can’t have the professor’s chair, you know! No way. It’s good to cheer!

      No, I can’t roar like that. I wish I could… rats.

      • 131 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 26, 2014 at 21:43

I think the screen should have a chair! *laughs* I think cheering is fun.

        Oh, you should practice!

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:10

It just hangs there, you know. Flaunting it’s disrespect everywhere.

        I can’t!

      • 133 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 27, 2014 at 13:50

It does? Are you jealous of its abilities? Ooo, do you wish you would have chosen the blue screen? Shh, it can hear you, you know.

I bet you can. You just don’t want me to enjoy.

      • 134 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:02

No, I like it…sometimes. When it’s not being dreadfully cranky or mean. And when it decides not to wrinkle.

        I can…with compression, and a vocal transformer.

      • 135 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister June 28, 2014 at 12:44

        Does it wrinkle a lot?

        Sounds like cheating… *laughs*

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:39

        Yes, it can, dadblameit!

I think it is. But…that’s okay!

      • 137 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 1, 2014 at 01:49

        Well…how do you fix it?

Yes, seems fine to me…do you do that a lot? I think you do… *smiles*

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 12:53

Just hang it up and let it…sway in the wind. *laughs*

        I do not, actually, dadblameit!

      • 139 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 1, 2014 at 15:26

Like on a clothes line? How fun…wheee!

        Oh.

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 21:47

        No…on some sort of structure.

      • 141 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 2, 2014 at 04:58

        Yes, like a chalkboard?

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 13:41

        A big, black stand!

      • 143 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 2, 2014 at 14:30

Kick the stand as it is probably its fault that the screen wrinkles.

      • 144 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 21:49

        No! He’s sweet, actually.

      • 145 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 3, 2014 at 05:01

        Yes, I believe that.

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke July 3, 2014 at 20:28

        Rats!

  8. 147 Simply Skeptical June 26, 2014 at 15:11

Whoa! That monster sounded like very serious, very serious indeed. Yeah! for the manly man with the blaster. Whew!!! That was great. Now all are back safe and cozy on the Exercise. Thrilling indeed!

    • 148 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:44

But maybe one of them might kick the bucket, you know?

  9. 149 PorterGirl June 26, 2014 at 13:18

Phew! Everyone got back safely! I feel a bit sorry for Prisoners #1 and #2, but they didn’t make much effort to save themselves, did they? I like the sound of a lion from Mars, very cool.

Super excellent, as always, and delighted that Manly Work and Schwarz Data saved the day (more Manly Worf, really, but Schwarz Data did sort of help). Just love these, I really really do!

    • 150 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:40

True. But don’t you suppose MM might have helped them out too?

*bows* Many, many thanks, Lucy! Schwarz could help more, you’re right. But…MM shut him up in the beginning, remember.

      • 151 PorterGirl June 26, 2014 at 17:14

Both your points are very valid, but you see in the first case I was rather concerned that there might be more beasts that might be released. Poor Schwarz data! People should give him more credit, I guess. He doesn’t have it easy!

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:02

He really doesn’t. Oh well. Maybe he deserves it that way, too. The professor doesn’t have it easy, after all, you know.

      • 153 PorterGirl June 27, 2014 at 13:09

You certainly don’t, Professor. Everyone should be more appreciative and in general awe of you, I believe.

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:24

You’re too kind! The professor is too wicked.

      • 155 PorterGirl June 27, 2014 at 13:57

A little wickedness never hurt anyone

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 21:03

And that’s a really good point.

  10. 157 FictionFan June 26, 2014 at 13:10

*laughing lots* Oooh…the Lord Chancellor is soooo scary! In the immortal words of our lovely Concon – he truly is a bloodthirsty little thing! Oh my! (Though quite frankly the announcer asked for it…) Not to mention the monster – terrifying!! Thank goodness Manly-Worf was so manly! And Worfly…

Great fun, Prof and team – thanks so much! And good to know the whole Exercise crew has survived to seek out new worlds and new adventures… *great big smile*

    • 158 Professor VJ Duke June 26, 2014 at 16:39

*laughs* And Worfly…wonder how that’s possible, and what it is, you know, you know. Yes, LC is my favorite in this one. It take talent to be so mean. But don’t you think MM should have beamed up the other two prisoners as well?

They have! For now. Maybe one will die off.

      • 159 FictionFan June 26, 2014 at 22:27

Ah, if you had watched every episode as often as…er…some people, you’d know exactly what Worfly means! Honourable but vicious! No, it’s harsh but I think they had to die horribly for the sake of the story, or else Zez might have ended up looking weak. Tragic, but sometimes these extras just need to make the ultimate sacrifice… I’m sure Prisoner #1 would agree, he seemed an awfully sensible type. Anyway, as you well know, to interfere with the internal justice system of an alien planet would be a clear breach of the Prime Directive!

Who??? Better not be my Schwarzy-Data!!!!!

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:11

*laughing* #1 did agree too much. He didn’t take anything seriously either. What a bummer for him. I think you would have liked to sit next to Zez and Daniel. You could have killed Schwarz then. It would have been fun, too.

        Well…I don’t know!

      • 161 FictionFan June 28, 2014 at 23:53

Still, at least he died contentedly! I’d have loved to sit between them, but no way would I have let them kill my Schwarzy! He’s too precious! I might have let them have the Captain though…

Don’t you dare! I can be very vicious when roused, you know – you have been warned!

      • 162 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:45

Which is very wicked of you, and which doesn’t surprise the all-knowing professor, you know. I bet you would have given them Spock too.

But you don’t have a katana.

    • 163 Susan P June 26, 2014 at 23:43

      Indeed!

      • 164 Symphonist Sepperl June 27, 2014 at 12:57

        Indeed NOT!! Hahahahaha

      • 165 Susan P June 27, 2014 at 13:29

        *snickers*

      • 166 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 13:21

        But why?

      • 167 Susan P June 27, 2014 at 13:40

I don’t know. It seemed like the thing at the time. What do you think?

      • 168 Professor VJ Duke June 27, 2014 at 20:58

That’s a great reason right there. You know, I think reasons should be destroyed. We shouldn’t use them anymore.

      • 169 Susan P June 28, 2014 at 20:36

This made me laugh so much!

I think you are right. Let’s go all anarchy.

      • 170 Professor VJ Duke June 30, 2014 at 12:43

*proud face* Yes, we must do it now, too! Before they rebel.

      • 171 Susan P July 1, 2014 at 16:24

That’s what I say, Chief. Can’t say it better, Chief.

      • 172 Professor VJ Duke July 1, 2014 at 21:54

        I’m a dumplepud suddenly!

      • 173 Susan P July 2, 2014 at 01:09

Um. I thought it was duffle pud. Or maybe you are talking about something else.

      • 174 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 13:39

That’s how Bethy told me to say it.

      • 175 Susan P July 2, 2014 at 16:58

I shall have to take her to task.

      • 176 Professor VJ Duke July 2, 2014 at 21:58

Oh dear… *laughs* She might complain about it… *laughing lots*

      • 177 Susan P July 3, 2014 at 01:11

She will have to catch me first.

      • 178 Professor VJ Duke July 3, 2014 at 20:24

        Good deal. Don’t let her!

      • 179 Susan P July 4, 2014 at 20:24

And I still have a few stories to tell about her on my blog.

      • 180 Professor VJ Duke July 6, 2014 at 18:20

Ooo…you’re drawing that like a gun! Goody good.

      • 181 Susan P July 11, 2014 at 18:20

That was supposed to be a bicycle.

      • 182 Professor VJ Duke July 12, 2014 at 01:44

        A bicycle…interesting.

      • 183 Susan P July 12, 2014 at 15:00

The bike belonged to Hannibal Lecter.

      • 184 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 12:46

        Ooo…he’s a werewolf too.

      • 185 Susan P July 14, 2014 at 14:33

        Like in Harry Potter?

      • 186 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 19:43

I’ve never read HP, you know.

      • 187 Susan P July 14, 2014 at 19:55

        Alas. A loss indeed.

      • 188 Professor VJ Duke July 14, 2014 at 20:03

        But why?

      • 189 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 02:25

There are some inspiring passages in the books.

      • 190 Professor VJ Duke July 15, 2014 at 12:48

Oh, I don’t believe you! There are?

      • 191 Susan P July 15, 2014 at 21:20

*looks at the professor* How many times did you read them?

      • 192 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 00:46

Ooo, it’s the squinty eye look! That’s not a fair question, is it?!

      • 193 Susan P July 16, 2014 at 12:21

Laughing. You are getting on discerning the squinty eye look. Of course it is a fair question. And it deserves a fair answer.

      • 194 Professor VJ Duke July 16, 2014 at 13:13

Bethy told me about it. I gave her the “Susan squinty eye look” and she knew immediately what it was!

But…okay, then. No, I’ve never read them. Maybe a part of #1.
