    Such imagination!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke August 3, 2014 at 22:36

      *laughs* Crazy, huh?

  2. 3 erinkenobi2893 July 27, 2014 at 21:44

    DS deserved that. :-P

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke July 28, 2014 at 17:05

      But he saved the day!

      • 5 erinkenobi2893 July 28, 2014 at 19:00

        He did, sort of… :-P

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2014 at 13:04

        He’s a hero, see!

      • 7 erinkenobi2893 July 29, 2014 at 20:07

        Sort of. :-P

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2014 at 23:30

Rats! I wanted to get you to say that he was.

      • 9 erinkenobi2893 July 30, 2014 at 18:02

Seriously? The only thing DS shares with Sherlock is a lack of people skills. :-P Sherlock doesn’t even have the same inventive repertoire of insults.

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 13:06

That’s true. But DS’s insults are rather neatio, wouldn’t you say?

      • 11 erinkenobi2893 July 31, 2014 at 14:05

        They are somewhat predictable, though.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 23:20

That’s only because he says them all the time, right?

      • 13 erinkenobi2893 August 1, 2014 at 12:06

Yes. That and they always include the word “cur.” :-P

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke August 1, 2014 at 16:04

Yes…I think he got that from LoTR.

      • 15 erinkenobi2893 August 1, 2014 at 22:15

Really? I don’t remember anyone from LotR calling anyone else “cur,” unless it was orcs.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke August 1, 2014 at 22:23

Didn’t Dooku do it to Wormtongue?

      • 17 erinkenobi2893 August 2, 2014 at 12:42

He might have. I don’t recall… OH! Yes, Sauruman did say that. But Sauruman’s not a good example, no precious, not a good example at all. :-P

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke August 3, 2014 at 22:36

        *laughing* But he was cool!

      • 19 erinkenobi2893 August 3, 2014 at 23:36

He didn’t use Sith lightning. I was kind of disappointed. :-P

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke August 4, 2014 at 13:12

Yeah, right?! He should have got Gandalf with it.

      • 21 erinkenobi2893 August 4, 2014 at 15:49

I’ll bet Gandalf knows Yoda’s trick, though. But it would have been so AWESOME to watch!!!

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke August 4, 2014 at 23:40

For sure! I’ll…maybe you should write a story about it?

      • 23 erinkenobi2893 August 5, 2014 at 16:43

Maybe. It depends on if I get the right motivation and ideas. :-) Otherwise, don’t count on it…

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke August 5, 2014 at 19:14

        Oh rats.

      • 25 erinkenobi2893 August 5, 2014 at 20:15

I’m sorry. I don’t have the time to write all I would like. I have college and a job search that must take precedence. :-/

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke August 6, 2014 at 13:29

Of course! No pressure at all. I completely understand.

      • 27 erinkenobi2893 August 6, 2014 at 14:50

Thanks. :-) I keep bumping up on the stupid MMR immunizations. I only received one, but I am, in fact, immune. We got a blood test done, and it was positive. Now I need to get the results sent in again. -_- It’s so annoying.

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke August 6, 2014 at 20:32

Yes, that seems like it would be annoying for sure.

      • 29 erinkenobi2893 August 6, 2014 at 23:13

        It is indeed.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke August 7, 2014 at 14:25

        *nods*

      • 31 erinkenobi2893 August 4, 2014 at 15:49

In the extended edition of “Return of the King,” though, Sauruman does use fireballs. Which is kinda/sorta cool…

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke August 4, 2014 at 23:41

Oh yes, I’ve seen that. His power is powerful!

      • 33 erinkenobi2893 August 5, 2014 at 16:44

Have you seen the Merlin spoof “Colin Morgan Saves the Day”, by any chance? If not, search it on YouTube. X-D Hilarious!

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke August 5, 2014 at 19:14

        I’ll go a-searching!

      • 35 erinkenobi2893 August 5, 2014 at 20:15

        X-D

  3. 36 The Dancing Rider July 26, 2014 at 13:34

Great backdrop scenery! My DS is back in great form, ha ha! Loved all the characters, and got such a kick of Schwarz (and all the rest) — but especially DS! :)

    • 37 Professor VJ Duke July 26, 2014 at 14:45

*laughing* That’s awesome! And I’m glad you like DS best. His laugh is just awesome, in my opinion. Do you suppose it’s the greatest villain laugh of all time?

      • 38 The Dancing Rider July 26, 2014 at 16:58

It is, along with his other sounds. I just love him!

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke July 27, 2014 at 15:41

So happy to hear that! He’s just…a great vocal chap.

  4. 40 Simply Skeptical July 25, 2014 at 11:17

Hee, hee, hee. Totally enjoyably zany! Loved those picture scenes too!

Happy Belated Birthday to Fiction Fan!

    • 41 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:52

*laughs* Many thanks, SS! Did you notice the skulls on the one? My favorite feature!

    • 42 FictionFan July 25, 2014 at 16:59

      Thanks, SS! *smiles*

  5. 43 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 25, 2014 at 02:39

Happy Birthday, to Fiction Fan! A great birthday gift, indeed. Very well done, Duke.

    • 44 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:50

Many thanks, Audith! Too bad I didn’t bring Ratson back.

      • 45 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 25, 2014 at 15:57

        Yes, they go together well.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke July 26, 2014 at 14:36

Too bad the bloke was killed.

      • 47 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 26, 2014 at 21:11

Nothing surprises me anymore. Anything else you’d like to do?

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke July 27, 2014 at 15:50

Why not? Yes…how about eat some pickles?

      • 49 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 28, 2014 at 04:06

I’m not sure, but probably because you have something to do with it.

        Pickles…yucketh.

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke July 28, 2014 at 17:11

I’m a surprise…and since we talk often, you’re used to surprises!

        *laughs*

      • 51 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 29, 2014 at 04:46

        Yes, a pleasant surprise usually…

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2014 at 13:13

        Usually? Oh dear.

      • 53 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 29, 2014 at 17:21

        Haha!

    • 54 FictionFan July 25, 2014 at 17:00

Thanks, Audrey – it was indeed! *smiles*

      • 55 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister July 25, 2014 at 22:34

        You’re welcome, FF!

  6. 56 Lady Cheetah July 24, 2014 at 17:36

Schwartz played a prominent role. Pretty nice for a change. I can see great things in his future.
    :-)

    • 57 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:19

He did seem on top of things, didn’t he?

      • 58 Lady Cheetah July 24, 2014 at 19:23

        He was on his game.

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:29

        I’m usually not, you know.

  7. 60 L. Marie July 24, 2014 at 17:31

Yay! Daddy Olmes is back!!! Love his adventures. Happy birthday to FictionFan.
And now I want to say, “Ewww” because Frankie kept saying that.

    • 61 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:19

He is! And he’s back in the detective business. (He has an odd way of doing his work, though.)

      *laughs* Do you like Frankie?

      • 62 L. Marie July 26, 2014 at 12:35

In a weird sort of way, yes.

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke July 26, 2014 at 14:45

        Relieved to hear it!

    • 64 FictionFan July 24, 2014 at 22:25

      Thanks, L Marie! :D

  8. 65 PorterGirl July 24, 2014 at 15:00

Aha! Good to see Olmes back to detecting. And what a fabulous case – and so cunningly solved (‘I like staring in at cafes’… brilliant!) I bet he misses Ratson, though. Great work, one and all. I’ll take Daddy Olmes over Sherlock any day!

    • 66 PorterGirl July 24, 2014 at 15:00

Also Happy Birthday to Fiction Fan!

      • 67 FictionFan July 24, 2014 at 16:03

        Thanks, Lucy! :D

      • 68 PorterGirl July 24, 2014 at 16:25

        You’re welcome! Have a super day :D

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:17

Yes, eat lots of popsicles and muffins.

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:06

        For sure!

    • 71 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:05

Many thanks, Lucy! Yes, I think he may miss Ratson too. Wasn’t Ratson a splendid chap? DS doesn’t get too complicated while serving cases–that’s for sure!

      • 72 PorterGirl July 25, 2014 at 09:54

Sometimes simple is best. Ratson was super indeed. I don’t suppose he could ever return?

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:51

Yes! I’d like him too. Just have to get around the fact that DS supposedly knocked him off.

      • 74 PorterGirl July 25, 2014 at 14:43

It can be done, I’m sure. And if anyone can find a way round it, it’s you Professor!

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke July 26, 2014 at 14:31

*bows* Many thanks! I will give it thoughts.

  9. 76 Susan P July 24, 2014 at 14:26

A stellar performance by the PLers. Well put together and funny to boot. I still think that FrankieS is creepy. All that was missing was photos of DS wearing a kilt.

    • 77 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:01

Does DS sound Scottish to you, Susan? There’s a debate around the study. We’re not sure if he is or not. Sometimes maybe. And many thanks! You still don’t like Frankie?

      • 78 Susan P July 24, 2014 at 21:21

Only when he talks. I dunno about DS. Mostly he sounds like trouble.

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:31

Poor Frankie! How about the professor?

      • 80 Susan P July 26, 2014 at 17:27

        What about the professor?

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke July 27, 2014 at 15:41

        Well, overall…

      • 82 Susan P July 30, 2014 at 00:26

        Overall what? Don’t hold back!

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke July 30, 2014 at 16:38

        Well…is he a rotten chap?

      • 84 Susan P July 30, 2014 at 17:31

        Nay, he not be rotten.

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 12:56

        Nick says I am.

      • 86 Susan P July 31, 2014 at 15:51

If Nick told you that the sun was made of golden coins would you believe that?

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2014 at 23:27

        Yes. Wouldn’t you?

      • 88 Susan P August 1, 2014 at 19:24

Only if he gave some coins to me.

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke August 1, 2014 at 22:13

And that’s what makes you so wise.

  10. 90 FictionFan July 24, 2014 at 12:51

OLMES!!!! Yay!!! Brilliant, Professor! Even better with the fab pictures. And isn’t my Schwarzy just so amazing? The way he stands up to that big bully Olmes *swoons* What a man! Poor Frankie – he really needs to take up meditation or perhaps try some calming aromatherapy. But despite his unfortunate personality, there’s no doubt that Olmes is THE MAN!!!

Thank you so much, dear C-W-W (and team)! The best birthday present a PEP could hope for!! *laughing lots and glowing with pleasure*

    • 91 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 14:02

The professor didn’t forget, you know! I did feel bad for Schwarz–early on. But he got Olmes in the end with the bill. Very smart of him, I’d say. Frankie has the tendency to get out of hand. Yes, but don’t you think Olmes needs Ratson?

*laughs* *bows* We’re the ones glowing with pleasure! Thank you, FEF.

      • 92 FictionFan July 24, 2014 at 16:11

Of course he didn’t, because – and I apologise in advance for this – the Professor is a special sweetie pumpkin pie!!! (So, so sorry – it just couldn’t be helped!) Oh, my Schwarzy always wins in the end – you should have more faith in him! I was surprised at my Daniel though – he can’t have been really stealing, he must just have been being mischievous. I admit – Ratson is sorely missed…but let that be a lesson to all bosses, not to bump off their assistants just because they’re having a bad day…

        *smiley smiley smiley*

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke July 24, 2014 at 18:17

*laughs* I must admit, I didn’t want to tell you, or remind you. Sort of like a surprise, then. Well, Daniel said he was just looking at it. I think he may be right. Or, he was testing Olmes. You know, saw him looking in the window and set the whole thing up. Just to be a snot. Which works with how he approaches life.

Yes, poor Ratson. I really wanted to bring him back for this one. (That’s why I don’t get rid of Mic.)

      • 94 FictionFan July 24, 2014 at 22:23

*laughing lots* And I didn’t want to mention it just in case you’d forgotten…but I didn’t think you would. *smiles* It was a lovely treat – made the day special! Yes, I suspect he was testing Olmes – he’s a bit sneaky, that Daniel. But Olmes rose brilliantly to the challenge. Oh my!

Interesting that you should have come up against the same problem as Conan Doyle did himself… (*laughing lots* You’re so kind to your minions!)

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke July 25, 2014 at 13:44

Haha! *bows* Olmes did! In his own wicked, dastardly way. But Schwarz got the better of Olmes, I think.

I know… I should have figured a way to bring him back. I think DS killed him. That’s un-bring-back-able! (He’s not a minion!)

      • 96 FictionFan July 25, 2014 at 17:08

Yes, he did! That’s my sweet little Schwarzy – intelligent, charming, smooth and gorgeous! Really, he should be the leader of the PL, or maybe an international spy…or – *FF swoons entirely away* – a tennis player!

Hmm…Moriarty killed SH but Conan Doyle brought him back. Did we actually see Ratson dead? Even if we did, perhaps it was all a ruse to fool Morality (I can’t remember – is Morality still alive? *laughing* Sounds like a very deep late-night conversation stopper, that sentence…)

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke July 26, 2014 at 14:43

Oh! You think too much of Schwarz…really you do! I like international spy…but he’d probably die. And do you suppose he could really hit a ball?

No…but it was implied, I believe, that Ratson kicked the bucket. I think Morality (the PL version) died. I’ll have to ask Nick. (*laughs* Yes, I’d either go to bed at that point or laugh my head off.)

      • 98 FictionFan July 26, 2014 at 21:20

Tch-tch! Jealous again! I don’t know if he could hit a ball, but I bet he’d look great in shorts… *giggles girlishly*

Yebbut people are always getting killed in the PL and it never seems to be fatal. I reckon Olmes’d be glad to have him back – he’s got nobody to be mean to now. Well, if Morality is dead I guess we can all be as wicked as we like now… *starts plotting*

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke July 27, 2014 at 15:54

*bangs head on desk* I’ll make you wear two eye-patches, I think.

*laughs* Great word. Well, I’ll see…I don’t know…it’s a wonder… Yes! You can be as evil and wicked as you like–as long as I say it’s okay.

      • 100 FictionFan July 28, 2014 at 13:52

Won’t stop my imagination…but I’d look like pretty much the coolest pirate ever!! Can I get two parrots too?

OK, I’ll submit my future plots to you in writing for approval. (Except when they’re directed at you…)

      • 101 Professor VJ Duke July 28, 2014 at 17:21

*laughs* How wicked. Yes, a red and pink one.

You can’t direct that sort of thing at me! Not allowed to!

      • 102 FictionFan July 28, 2014 at 23:03

Oh, wouldn’t they clash horribly? Couldn’t one of them be blue or green?

        *looks innocent and whistles*

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2014 at 13:06

I suppose. Maybe just two black ones would do.
