Some Professorish Information: About the Professor

I decided to do this post just to dispel some common myths. That sort of thing is important, you know.

1. I like Peavey better than Crate. And I do think I’m sorry a bit, bits, and little bits.

2. Contrary to popular belief, the professor has never sailed in this boat. (I’m still trying to become a pirate.)

DSC00558

3. The professor has bodyguards. I also employ these dadblame things.

Screen Shot 2014-08-12 at 9.28.13 AM

4. These dadblame things are hard to lift.

DSC00555

5. The professor’s favorite song as of now is “Thick as a Brick” by Jethro Tull.

I fear one of the points might have been a lowdown, dadblame lie. But I shan’t tell, unless it’s guessed.

To close off…two pictures of me. One swimming…the other…well, I’m not sure what the other is doing.

    Great Post!

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke September 10, 2014 at 15:27

      *bows* Many thanks!

  2. 3 Hazy September 1, 2014 at 12:35

I rarely see either, I usually see Marshalls around here.

Arrrgh! Do you have a pirate hat? And a pirate name, perhaps? Weatherly says “professor” doesn’t sound to pirate-y…

Yuckers! Those look terribly horrid and mean!

Those dadblame things! I only have itty bitty ones. Do you lift those often?

I see you can hold your breath for quite a long time! You should prolly wear a hat when hanging out in such a gravelly place (it looks hot there, is it?)

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:04

      They’re good, too, you know.

*laughs* Rats! And Weatherly is right… Well…perhaps I should get one–fast!

They are horrid! Horrid and horrid and horrid!!!

I do! Every day. Well, I try to. It’s good for the bicep, I hear.

*laughing* It is hot! I should get some sort of hat.

      • 5 Hazy September 14, 2014 at 08:27

Have you decided on a pirate name?

Wow every day! You must have strong, muscly arms now! Sometimes I forget to lift them (or too lazy). I should prolly do it more. *laughs*

Other than top hat? A fedora perhaps, or a cowboy hat…

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke September 15, 2014 at 13:15

        How about…blueteeth? Nah, that’s no good… I’m at a loss!

*laughs* It’s hard to do every day. Most days. I skip some here and there!

        Cowboy hats!

      • 7 Hazy September 17, 2014 at 12:20

How about Capt. Duke Sparrow? Oh wait, they might think you’re Jack’s brother or something… How about Dadblamedbeard? or Black Chickit Duke? Hmm… I’m out of ideas. *laughs*

        Or a pirate hat!

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2014 at 14:31

*laughing* I love Black Chickit Duke!

  3. 9 Dianette August 17, 2014 at 12:03

Exactly the sort of info I was expecting… *rolleyes*
    You r really… complicated””…
Oh, my… oh my, Professor! ;)

    • 10 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:47

*laughs* Don’t you believe it, Dia? I mean, I think some of it is true, you know.

  4. 11 Catherine August 17, 2014 at 02:54

I’m sorry you haven’t been able to become a pirate yet.

And why do you employ those guys? What do they do?

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:45

Yes! I must needs find a ship.

Well, they sting people, you see. They’re giant hornets! Ugly, aren’t they?

      • 13 Catherine August 18, 2014 at 13:56

Very ugly! They might help even by just scaring people away! (That way, they could save their stingers for the real threats.) But why do you need bodyguards?

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:10

Yes, they’re hideous, you know! They’d just have to buzz about to scare, it’s true.

        I’m always hunted, I fear.

      • 15 Catherine August 20, 2014 at 04:50

That can be useful at times, I suppose.

Oh, dear! That sounds rather dangerous.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:30

Well, I’m a warrior in danger all the time! Professorishly dangerous, that is.

      • 17 Catherine August 22, 2014 at 15:54

Well, I’m glad the professor hasn’t been harmed with all this danger around! What is the difference between professorish danger and normal danger?

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke August 23, 2014 at 16:47

Such a good question! I’d say that the difference is anything that the danger that happens to the professor is professorish. See? Very dull and simple.

      • 19 Catherine August 24, 2014 at 00:37

Aha. It makes sense, though, and I suppose I should have guessed.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke August 24, 2014 at 17:49

(The difference confused me from time to time, too.)

  5. 21 The Dancing Rider August 14, 2014 at 20:02

I do like the picture of you swimming as it is “active”. ;-) However, that little bush is quie cute.

About amps I know nothing. But I did see Jethro Tull in concert decades ago. If I ever played a flute, which I will not as it is a “spit instrument”, I would want to play the way he did. As opposed to classical selections.

Please send some of your bodyguards this way. One of our cats needs them. :)

    • 22 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:36

It is! But…well, don’t you think it should grow just a bit?

*laughing* He does play a mean flute! Just curious: are there more spit interments on the list?

      Is he getting in trouble?

      • 23 The Dancing Rider August 15, 2014 at 14:03

Maybe the little green bush is a bonsai?

Oh yes, more spit instruments. Top of the list is the clarinet and those dadblamed reeds! Haven’t played others, but flute would not be a choice. Nor saxophone. Nor trumpet…..you get the picture.

Nope, the cat needs them for her own protection from the rest of our animals!

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:52

Cool! I hope so. Then, at least, it would have a cool name.

*laughing* I do see! Poor clarinet!

But these things might kill the other animals!

  6. 25 L. Marie August 14, 2014 at 14:51

Do you usually have your bodyguards with you whenever you go places? Who needs Daddy Salami with company like this?

    • 26 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:18

Yes, usually. It’s safer that way, you know. True! Especially if you get those hornet things. Yucketh! That would fetch DS!

  7. 27 Me, Myself and DIY August 14, 2014 at 11:33

The bugs look like giant “palmetto bugs” – Maybe Susan will weigh in on that. (The nice name for giant cockroaches in the South.) But somehow I think they are something worse and that you have nothing to do with them. As for pirating – better start picking up that weight and training. ;)

    • 28 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:48

Cockroaches?! Goodness me. Yes, I fear I have nothing to do with them. I fear. They’re horrid. I wish I could hire the hornets though. Don’t you suppose they’d be a good force?

I actually do lift it–all the time!

  8. 29 Julie Harris August 14, 2014 at 01:52

Peaveys are the best and your bodyguards are quite frightening!!

    • 30 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:41

They sure are! Glad to hear you like them, too. They’re just…glorious. They are, aren’t they? Horrid beasts.

  9. 31 John W. Howell August 13, 2014 at 19:43

I like the swimming pic I think the other is of you taking a nap

    • 32 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:53

Aha! *laughing* I think you’re right. I was taking a nap. That’s why you can’t see my eyes; they’re closed.

      • 33 John W. Howell August 13, 2014 at 20:48

Right. And your arms and legs don’t show because you have them tucked under the green cover.

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:22

*laughing* Yes! But do you know how I got rid of my hat?

      • 35 John W. Howell August 14, 2014 at 22:59

        You are sitting on it?

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 23:18

Right again! Can’t seem to hide anything from you, John.

  10. 37 erinkenobi2893 August 13, 2014 at 19:36

I have no idea what Peavey OR Crate is. And though this post was enlightening, I am still mystified. :-P

    • 38 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:53

Yes, I think that sums up the professor, wouldn’t you say? Both Peavey and Crate are amps. What’s mystifying?

      • 39 erinkenobi2893 August 13, 2014 at 20:01

Oh. Well, I don’t know what preference there would be…. *shrugs*
It’s just that, the more we know about you the less we know, I think. ;-P

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:11

Preference for sound, I guess. Or something like that.

Yes! Isn’t that spectacular? *smiles proudly* Did you see the Amazing Spider-man?

      • 41 erinkenobi2893 August 14, 2014 at 15:47

I suppose… my dad has a record player, but I’ve never figured out the stereo. ;-)
The animated series? No, but I’ve heard good things about it. ;-)

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:27

        They can be vexing.

        No…the movie?

      • 43 erinkenobi2893 August 15, 2014 at 11:54

        Indeed.
I don’t think so. I think I saw the older of the movies. Not the remake…

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:40

Yes, I’ve seen the older ones. Just saw the new one, actually.

      • 45 erinkenobi2893 August 16, 2014 at 21:53

        Was it any good???

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:44

Yeah…but we’ve seen it all before! The moves weren’t as cool, I think.

      • 47 erinkenobi2893 August 18, 2014 at 12:15

So it was an attempt at a reboot… but really not a very good one?

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:04

Well…it is very entertaining. But I think they shouldn’t have done a reboot that soon.

      • 49 erinkenobi2893 August 19, 2014 at 11:57

        Ah.
I kind of want to see the Fantastic Four movie–the one that has Ioan Gruffudd (because he’s amazing.)

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 12:07

I think I’ve seen parts. I should see it too. Bet it’d be cool.

      • 51 erinkenobi2893 August 19, 2014 at 12:21

        :-D

  11. 52 deepbluesandseafoamgreens August 13, 2014 at 18:25

Trying to be a pirate!! *brandishes pencil eyeliner for eyepatch*
    Hold still!

    • 53 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:49

*laughing* Don’t poke your eye! Does that ever happen?

      • 54 deepbluesandseafoamgreens August 13, 2014 at 19:50

Hahaha! Good question! Well, I prefer to go au naturel – but for the times when I have worn eyeliner (for plays/school productions) I’ve stayed safe with liquid eyeliner. Pencils are so hard to use!

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:54

I would imagine they are! You know, the professor is glad that he doesn’t have to wear makeup. Though, I probably wouldn’t even if it was expected of me. Liquid eyeliner sounds…dreadful too!

      • 56 deepbluesandseafoamgreens August 13, 2014 at 19:56

Aha! Well, nobody really has to, in suppose. It’s just popular, but then, some opt out. Like me!
Liquid eyeliner is so…if it’s done right, it’ll be great. If not, YEESH..:P

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:08

*laughs* You could, this professor guesses, flood your eye out!

  12. 58 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 13, 2014 at 16:13

I have to sort this…good grief! ! Really?

Those bugs have never been employed by you! Yack!!!!!

    • 59 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:43

Just believe all the points. I would. You know I would.

Yes, you’re right: they haven’t. But…we should hunt out their nests and destroy them. Are you ready?

      • 60 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 13, 2014 at 21:31

I try to believe everything you tell me. I’m the trusting sort of lady. Not a great quality to have, I fear. You are not a bush, but today I will believe you are. What about that newspaper? I want to know more of it…
I like the pirate ship…I wanna go. Take me.

Oooo….WE SHOULD??? I’m terrified. Will you hold my hand? Or you shouldn’t since you’ve been holding those bugs all day….

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:28

I’m not sure what’s with the newspaper! But interestingly enough, I found it. I believe it was the album cover. Well, the hornet one was the lie. There! Now you know.

But are you ready to fight, pillage, and plunder? *laughing* We could be a sweet pirate ship, of course.

That’s not my hand…but you’re right: we shouldn’t hunt them. *shivers* Horrible things they are!

      • 62 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 14, 2014 at 20:21

I already said that one was the lie…I know you too well, Sir!! *laughs*Jethro…seriously? Now, tell me about the barbell…is it heavy and what are you doing with it? Lifting it? Paperweight? Rolling down hills with it?

Um, we have to do all of that? Today? Let me check my schedule…plundering could be hard to fit in. *laughs* I do like when you’re sweet, so a sweet pirate ship is a wonder. Will we be inviting friends for tea, making cookies and dancing?

*shivers too* Yicky. I bet some people eat those little friends of yours.

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:37

*laughing* You like JT? I curl this one. It’s lighter than the other one. So you can do more reps. See how honest?

Well…I’ll be in the nest thingy at the top. No dancing. But I’ll eat the cookies! And definitely friends. We’ll have them row.

Are you sure? Supposed to be vicious!

      • 64 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 15, 2014 at 02:25

Sure, I do! I’m just surprised that you do. Nice. I do like a nice curling routine. How honest?! Oh yes, so risky and upfront about your workout routine. *laughing lots*

A nice spot for you. I like the idea of you surveying your kingdom or ship. I’ll make sure plenty of cookies are sent up, as needed. Friends, loads, please. *giggle* Duke…! Our poor friends.

        I’m not positive, no…

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:32

I’m surprised you do! I was. The professor is an open book of porridge.

I’m sure they’d enjoy it! If they didn’t, there’s the plank, you know.

        You could be right.

      • 66 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 18, 2014 at 03:48

It doesn’t seem like such a stretch to me that I like JT… Yes, of course, I always seem to forget, probably.

Yes, I suppose you’re right… *whispers to our friends…”He may send you over to the plank if they’re is any complaining…”

        *shivers* I’m always right.

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:48

Don’t tell the friends! That’s…cheating, dadblameit!

      • 68 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 19, 2014 at 02:17

Afraid they won’t show up, Duke?…good point.

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:51

Oh, they’ll probably not come, you’re right.

      • 70 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 19, 2014 at 21:53

Doesn’t sound like something our friends do….they always show up. *wink*

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:17

        Haha…not the professor!

      • 72 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 20, 2014 at 15:33

        You wouldn’t? What??

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:46

Well, I…I’m lost now, I fear.

      • 74 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 20, 2014 at 20:35

        Find yourself, Sir!

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 00:43

        I’m in the bucket!

      • 76 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 21, 2014 at 01:51

Where did you find that bucket? I did that ALS Icebucket challenge today…that was super cold. I ran tripped over this other bucket and landed face first in the bushes. Nice, right?! *laughing again* I scrapped my knee and had a couple of thorns in my palm. Talk about a mess…I have no idea how I managed to do it either.

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 13:41

*Laughing lots and lots* Oh dear! I’ve seen that all over the place. What’s it for?

      • 78 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 21, 2014 at 18:33

ALS is a disease and to raise awareness you can nominate others to donate money, which one should, I think, and then as a torture for yourself, you prove that you’re manly by dumping ice and water over your head.
Laughs every time I picture myself falling…in slow motion…

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:30

Yes! The dumping of the cold water is what confuses me, really. What a wonder.

*laughs* Me too! Haha. I bet it was awesome!

      • 80 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 22, 2014 at 14:12

Yeah, well, a form of torture and we all enjoy a bit of that, I guess.

        Hey….! *laughs*

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke August 23, 2014 at 16:38

        Is it for stem-cell research?

      • 82 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 23, 2014 at 17:17

Yes…could be, but they have a drug right now that helps slow the process down. I know stem cell is a touchy subject.

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke August 24, 2014 at 17:38

I’ve heard that it is, too! Goodness.

      • 84 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 24, 2014 at 19:44

Your friends must like you since you haven’t been challenged yet.

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke August 25, 2014 at 13:31

*smiles bigly* The professor doesn’t have friends!

      • 86 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 25, 2014 at 14:53

        Yes, you do…liar.

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke August 25, 2014 at 20:33

        I can lie, too!

      • 88 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 25, 2014 at 21:37

        Let’s tell the truth

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke August 26, 2014 at 12:42

        Only sometimes!

      • 90 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 26, 2014 at 14:02

        Pft! *slams the door*

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke August 26, 2014 at 22:23

        *starts playing Bach’s Prelude No.6.*

      • 92 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 27, 2014 at 00:04

No!! *opens the door* You know how much I love hearing about your music…

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke August 27, 2014 at 13:49

*smiles bigly* I thought that might work!

      • 94 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 27, 2014 at 19:58

*wicked glare* You shouldn’t do that…or atually I love when you offer up music willingly. Only wish to hear yours.

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke August 28, 2014 at 13:24

I’m doing a cool one right now!

      • 96 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 28, 2014 at 20:47

        And??? *taps her foot*

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke August 28, 2014 at 23:27

        And…it’s very hard.

      • 98 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 29, 2014 at 04:28

I’m sorry. Want me to hold your sheet music?

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke August 29, 2014 at 13:00

Sure, thanks! There’s lots of it, though.

      • 100 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 29, 2014 at 13:32

Good. Let me grab my headphones.

      • 101 Professor VJ Duke August 29, 2014 at 20:25

        It’s Bach.

      • 102 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 29, 2014 at 22:22

Bach..that song up there? I know. Listened to it already. Let me hear you play it now…

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke August 30, 2014 at 18:07

        It’ll sound ugly!

      • 104 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 31, 2014 at 05:21

        I’m sure it doesn’t.

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke August 31, 2014 at 18:58

Well, once I get the hang of my own arrangement here, it should go somewhat smoothly.

I bet your music usually does, Duke. Why don’t you ever post any here?

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 13:54

        Well…’cause it’s not the professor!

      • 108 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 1, 2014 at 17:44

        Oh, okay.

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:01

        *laughs* I know it’s strange.

      • 110 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 02:49

Do you mean it is because you are who you are when you’re not here, Duke?

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:11

Yeah…it’s strange. But I’ve started living dual lives. One day they’ll connect. One day soon.

      • 112 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 13:48

        I understand.

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:24

        *nods*

      • 114 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 22:06

        *paints her toenails*

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 00:58

        Paints them black!

      • 116 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 01:38

        No! Wait..thanks for painting them.

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 12:31

*laughs* No! I meant you did!

      • 118 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 19:41

        *giggle* I know….hahaha!

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 20:46

        *growls*

      • 120 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 21:48

        Geez….

  13. 121 InfiniteZip August 13, 2014 at 15:53

Pirates are way cool!!! Did you take pirate classes?

    • 122 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:41

No, I didn’t. And I’m ashamed about it. Did you?

      • 123 InfiniteZip August 13, 2014 at 21:03

I am a pirate in training, self taught arggggh.

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:24

The professor is wowed! Can you teach me how?

      • 125 InfiniteZip August 14, 2014 at 15:48

It starts with perfecting the mean face;)

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:28

*mean professorish face* How’s it look?

      • 127 InfiniteZip August 15, 2014 at 09:40

I think you need a few more mean symbols….

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:38

        Like what, would you say?

      • 129 InfiniteZip August 16, 2014 at 18:40

Oh something that looks quite mean….a mean face?

      • 130 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:53

        How about a wasp’s stinger?

      • 131 InfiniteZip August 16, 2014 at 19:02

Oh yes, that would most certainly work.

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:42

        They look dirty rotten.

  14. 133 Simply Skeptical August 13, 2014 at 15:27

Professor forgive my atrocious spelling pleeeeeeease!!!!!

    • 134 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:41

No problem! Please looks better that way anyway.

  15. 135 The Nerdy Novice August 13, 2014 at 15:12

Arrrrrr!!! A pirate’s life for me!! Count me in! It sounds like you are well on your way to having an all female crew there Captain Professor ;) you will be the envy of all the Seven Seas ❤️ lol

Those are nasty looking critters! At first I thought the Cicada Killer but then read in a comment that they are Japanese Giant Hornets! They threw me off not having the bright yellow face like the ones I have seen. Ewwwwww these things kill 30-50 people a year! Last year they killed 42 people in China, according to CNN. Though, there was a man who claimed to have trained one and could take it for walks on a… Leash? o.0 So… If you are the type to believe everything you read then I guess this could be a possible truth??? Lol but, I am not one of those people. Therefore, I think this is your lie Professor! ;)

Weights…. Hmmmm…. They do look heavy. If we are to become pirates I am going to need you to lift these frequently till they become easy to lift :D it will help you wield a sword better. Then we can fight back to back and I won’t have to worry about you getting sliced through :)

I do not have a green thumb at all! I tend to accidentally kill things that grow. But I do know what the bottom you is doing! It is preparing for an attack!!! See the little green ninja on the right trying to sneak up on you? Yup! That’s why you are all poofy and prickly looking! I’m convinced! You are just modest and do not want to let everyone know that you have an internal ninja sensing detector! It’s ok your secret is safe with me ;)

    • 136 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:37

*laughing lots* Yes…but…well…are you sure about it?

Take it for walks? Goodness. We mustn’t believe it, must we, NN? Yes, and they’re vicious. Once out on the sea, we’ll go and hunt them, you know.

*laughs* I do lift them frequently! It helps me train with my professorish katana!

*laughing lots and lots* That’s so cool! I didn’t know I had one–till just now! I bet you may be a bit envious, huh? *smiles proudly* And I do see that little green bugger!

      • 137 The Nerdy Novice August 13, 2014 at 20:14

I am VERY sure!!! Arrrrr ;)

Hahahaha Yes!!! He has a string around it!!! CRAZY! Google it… It’s good for a laugh :D it has to be a lie!!! I think it’s dead and he is using it’s body… Maybe? Lol

I am VERY envious!!! Lol who wouldn’t be :D lol

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:22

You can be the captain. I’d like to go into the crow’s nest. Do you suppose that’s fine?

I just so that! That’s dadblamery! Did you see he said it still bites him? Man I wouldn’t take that!

        The professor probably!

      • 139 The Nerdy Novice August 14, 2014 at 17:51

Hahaha who needs a captain we will just sail and wipe out all the flying stinging critters of the world!

I saw that! He said it doesn’t really hurt o.0 LIES!! LIES I TELL YOU!! That thing couldn’t bite and not make it hurt!!! Maybe the man has a very high pain tolerance!

      • 140 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:34

That sounds like a plan for sure! I’ll go get you a katana.

*laughing* He has to! It must hurt. I’d pull the dentures off the beast, wouldn’t you?

      • 141 The Nerdy Novice August 15, 2014 at 00:52

Ok… but I want to weild duel Katanas and the tsuka of both must be purple!!! :D

Nope! I would just kill it!! I do not want to touch them, not even a little bit! They can meet the blade of my Katanas but that is as close as I am getting!! ;)

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:30

Well…rats! If you insist. Wouldn’t you rather red?

        Would you try the meat?

      • 143 The Nerdy Novice August 17, 2014 at 22:01

Nononononono it has to be purple!! Lol it’s a fabulous color!!!

And no? But, then you appeal to my love of trying new food… Hmmm yeah that might be pushing it though! Lol

      • 144 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:47

But…red’s much better. Don’t you think? You must!

Yucketh! Can’t say this professor would!

      • 145 The Nerdy Novice August 18, 2014 at 16:37

Nononononono lol I’m a redhead! Red and pink clash with my red something awful!! Purple is much better :)

It would be a bit disturbing! Do people actually eat them??? I have seen people eat some pretty crazy things but again that is going a little too far!! o.0 I don’t know how one could, knowing what they are eating. If I didn’t know… Yeah but I might die once I was told! :D

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:17

*laughing* Oh! Okay, then. But maybe blue! Or professorish white!

I’m not sure at all! I do hope not, you know. Yes! That’s how I’d be. I’d die after they told me. Imagine! I couldn’t eat them. I’d die first. Before I ate them.

      • 147 The Nerdy Novice August 19, 2014 at 01:26

Hahaha are you anti purple? Has it offended you? :D I will use unnecessary force on it if it did!!! How dare purple!!! I do like blue and white as well! Maybe a pretty royal blue?

Yes!!!! I would die!! I would lay curled in a fetal position crying!! Lol what if they were good!!! Ohh my goodness I would cry!! I can’t even think of it!!! I am going to have nightmares now!!!

      • 148 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:32

*laughing lots* Not at all! I do love purple. After all, Mace Windu’s saber was purple! You can wear it, for sure, madam! *smiles bigly*

*laughs* Didn’t even think about them being good! I bet they taste like chocolate!

      • 149 The Nerdy Novice August 19, 2014 at 01:36

Well, thank you kind sir! I look forward to fighting back to back with you on a pirate ship and wielding my duel purple Katanas!!!

Haha I bet somewhere, someone dips them in chocolate and calls them some fancy name and they are considered a delacacy! o.0 we will not travel there on our pirate ship!!!

      • 150 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:39

And you’ll be fearsome with two of them, you know! Wowawee!

Unless we pillage the town! Do you like pillaging?

      • 151 The Nerdy Novice August 19, 2014 at 02:01

Ahhh yes… Well, you see, I will be very deceptive. People will look at me and see nothing but a simple woman. I have been told I look very innocent! Then, when they least expect it, I will surprise them with my stealthy ninja pirate skills!!! They won’t have any idea what hit them!!! It will be quite the advantage!

Hmmmm, I can’t say I like to pillage as I have never done such a thing. But, if we are to be pirates then I guess I must learn o.0 are you the pillaging type? What are the main things I should know??? :D

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:50

Haha! It will be, actually! That’d be awesome. I think Ninja-Pirate skills are the best. Our whole crew will have to learn!

I don’t know either! You see, this professor has never pillaged. Let me see, perhaps we should do something else then? But I’m not sure what.

      • 153 The Nerdy Novice August 20, 2014 at 03:05

I agree!!! We will teach them!! Maybe we should all start yoga so we can bend like they do in the exorcist!! Haha we will be the most envied and feared in all the land!!

Vigilante pirates? We can pillage the evil drug dealers and gun smugglers!!! The money we get from them can go to funding our lives as pirates and we will keep the guns and drugs off the streets :D we would be awesome!! We won’t hurt innocent good people and we can also avenge people who have fought bravely and lost against our evil nemesis the Asian Giant Hornet! Yes!! That sounds down right exciting!!!

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:29

*laughing* Yoga…is that when one puts his foot over his head?

*laughing even more* That sounds particularly awesome! But…I do wonder…do you suppose the police would come after us anyway? (I was thinking that our ship would be a battleship.)

      • 155 The Nerdy Novice August 20, 2014 at 16:39

Yes… I guess in so e classes they may have you do that. I particularly have not tried this since I was like 10 years old and especially not now as I feel it would be very hazardous to my well being :) hahaha but I will support you and our other ship mates if would like to try :D

Yes… Yes I do feel they would come after us lol hmmm… If we are in international waters who would have jurisdiction? I will have to research that as now I am interested. You were thinking, as in you want it to be a battleship? Ahh yes with drug and gun smugglers always after us and the police we will have to do great battle. They will not be happy! And if you are referring to not wanting to battle… What do you suggest we do?

While doing all of this ⤴️ can we also design and build an under water dome city? After watching the Little Mermaid many years ago, it has always been a dream of mine to live under the sea! And if we will always be on the sea, why not make a port under the sea? We can be new age Atlantians pirate ninjas!! :D

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:52

Yes…I haven’t tried ever. Which is a wonder. I think it could be deadly!

*laughing lots* Atlantians pirate ninjas! Just what I’ve always wanted. We should begin. I mean, we could definitely try and build a city. It would be great fun.

And, so, they’d be after us. Well…we’d shell them with our guns! How’s that?

      • 157 The Nerdy Novice August 21, 2014 at 04:22

I agree!!! I would injure myself or someone else haha

Really?!?!? 😄 it was just in the stars for us to do this!! Lol I agree we should start right away!! We will have to pillage a lot of drug and gun smugglers to get the money for building supplies!

Guns?!?! We can’t carry guns!!! Pirates nor ninjas carry guns!! We need our Katanas and cannons!! Some cool throwing stars too!!! Oh… And a good yoga video! We should invest in some Ashiko foot spikes as well… They will be a great asset in fighting and climbing into the crows nest!! Hmmm… We should brush up on our pirate lingo too! Arrrrr matey!!! Hahaha there is actually a pirate glossary online!!! Pirateglossary.com that’s just awesomeness!! Lol

      • 158 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 13:44

You’re right! And to buy the ship. Unless we steal. I imagine, though, it would be hard to steal a battleship. Don’t you suppose so?

*laughing* What a wonder! But…you mean, no machine guns????

      • 159 The Nerdy Novice August 21, 2014 at 16:39

Ahhh yes… you are right!! -_- no good lol I must learn to be bad!!! >.<

No!! Then we would just be thugs hahaha I am not a thug!! I am a vigilante pirate Ninja alantisian!! :D

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:26

Yes! That’s it. Think dadblamery! (Have you seen the new ripio?)

Yes, yes! You have to keep me…inline, you know.

      • 161 The Nerdy Novice August 25, 2014 at 04:11

I have and I LOVED it!!! I haven’t had much time the past few days to do anything :( I will definitely comment on it tomorrow! ! It will be my catch up day lol at least I hope it will be!! As long as nothing unexpected happens between now and then! Keep your fingers crossed for me :)

      • 162 Professor VJ Duke August 25, 2014 at 13:36

*laughing* Don’t worry about it, NN! You’re so funny.

  16. 163 Simply Skeptical August 13, 2014 at 15:08

Dear Professor #3 is most easily indifieable as the outright untruth. Is that your hand holding those vicious looking insects? I hope not afterall they could hurt your hand preventing you from typing – oh no, oh my!

Well now you certainly puff out quite a bit on dry land! :-)

    • 164 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:35

Yes, rats! That was the lie. And, no, not my hand. Apparently, those buggers are causing a ruckus in China as of now.

      • 165 Simply Skeptical August 13, 2014 at 22:32

        Big boys aren’t they?

      • 166 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:38

Yes! Horrible things. But I might eat one. Bet they’re high in protein.

  17. 167 weggieboy August 13, 2014 at 15:05

I’d say vegetating or maybe shrubbing around or beating around the bush.

    • 168 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:35

Yes, but I’m the shrub, you see. So, I have nothing to beat around myself with.

  18. 169 Debbie August 13, 2014 at 15:01

Holy cow, what are those ginormous bugs?? Those things are big enough to bring you coffee in the morning! And I’ll bet they make a tremendous slimy mess when you step on one!
I like looking at the pirate ship, but I wouldn’t want to sail in it — being tossed about by waves, I imagine, would make me seasick!
I’m with you on Peavey, and I won’t apologize for it.

    • 170 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:34

Their sting causes bullet-sized wounds in a person’s flesh! They’re mean–and dastardly! I bet you wouldn’t want them to bring you coffee!

But, you’d get a free cutlass. That has to tempt you somewhat.

*high-five* Play a little guitar, or bass, or something else?

      • 171 Debbie August 13, 2014 at 23:59

My darling son is a guitar player, electric and acoustic. Of course he doesn’t make any money at it — it’s just for fun — but we all need a hobby!

      • 172 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:40

We do! And that’s awesome that he plays! Do you know what type of electric he has? (I just get so interested in such things.)

  19. 173 FictionFan August 13, 2014 at 13:38

I’ve never met either Peavey or Crate but I’m sure they’re both awfully nice chaps.

    Trying to copy Mic then…

Yeuchhh! Yucketh!! And a lie!!! Those hideous creatures obviously only care about themselves!

    Not with biceps like yours…

Yeah, you nearly trapped me with that one before but I’m too wise to fall for it again!

    Waiting for worms?

    • 174 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 19:28

*laughing* Mr. Peavey…that does make a good name. And you may meet one! Who knows? You may decide to take up rock (or jazz) guitar in the future.

I am not! He’s not a pirate. He’d be a colonel or something.

Rats. Yes, that’s the lie. Don’t you like them? Can’t say I do. A few of them can kill thousands of honey bees, and their stings leave bullet sized wounds! I’d still like to have them–as mercenaries.

*smiles proudly* I was speaking for Mic and Schwarz. (And Rafa.)

      The professor doesn’t lay traps!

No, I quit ever since they asked me to.

      • 175 FictionFan August 13, 2014 at 21:58

Yes I might!! D’you think I’d be able to play while bungee-jumping? I think I’ll go for jazz, ‘cos it doesn’t really matter then if you stick to the tune… *whistles*

Ooh, would he have a dinky uniform then? *eyes light up*

But could you trust them? What if they were secretly working for the enemy? They look the type…

*laughing lots* Oh dear! You’ve just made me think of Mic and Schwarzy and Rafa and C-W-W and biceps…all at the same time. I can’t cope – bring the smelling salts, quick! *faints, swoons and drools*

        Huh! Like I’d believe that!

It’ll be your fault if the worms take over the world then…

      • 176 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:31

*laughing lots* Well, if that’s how you feel, go with rock. You’ll be expected to play all sorts of hideous chords in jazz. (I wouldn’t recommend it while bungee-jumping. As a matter of fact, I won’t let you go bungee jumping.) *bet she’s whistling Breezin’*

        Yes, he would… *gag*

Yeah…you’re right. They kill everything. I should get the worms to hunt them.

*laughing and laughing and laughing* Don’t you suppose Mic should be thrown from the list?

        Please do!

(I think they’ve already done it.)

      • 177 FictionFan August 14, 2014 at 15:41

Maybe I should become a jazz drummer then – that doesn’t sound so hard. *practices repeatedly hitting table with pencil in time* Nope, pretty easy really. (Awww! You’re the sweetest! Paragliding, then?) Hmm…quite nice but *repeats herself* oh, those drums! Why??

*laughing* Well, it wouldn’t be as dinky as the Professorial uniform, of course…

Yes!!! But…how would they hold the katanas?

Ooh, meanly jealous! I bet Mic is just as gorgeous as the Professor…

No! You can’t fool me with your innocent face…I know the sneaky mind that lies beneath…

        (Oh, no, no, no! Chickit!)

      • 178 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 21:24

*laughs* Look at you! Poor jazz drummers… (No! At least, maybe if I was there.) And I thought you’d know that one, for sure! The drums are nice! I think FEF hates drums. Not a big fan of your brother’s rock music, were you?

        But I don’t have a uniform.

Good point! *laughs* I’ll strap a katana to their back–no, neck–no, body!

*smiles proudly* It is pretty devilish, if I may say so.

*nods sadly* We could always start the hunt, though.

      • 179 FictionFan August 15, 2014 at 13:00

Well, they should rebel and do something more exciting then! And get rid of those brush thingies… (We could paraglide over Loch Ness and see if we could spot Nessie.) Haha! No, he did his best to indoctrinate me, but I stood firm!

Yes you do! Your Twainy white suit complete with excessive facial hair and cane!

Now we have the basis of a scary horror movie…!!

It is! And yet still fluffy…

I’ll have to do it myself, though, since you’ve retired… *scared but resolute face*

      • 180 Professor VJ Duke August 16, 2014 at 18:44

The brushes? *laughs* But…but…but…they can’t do that! It wouldn’t be smooth, then. Or quiet! (That’d be fun! We could drop smoke bombs, too.) Well, that’s a good thing, I guess. I got you to like jazz! *proud face*

Oh, that’s right. *laughing* My white suit! Told you I had one.

        I’ll be the star.

        *falls out a window*

Off with you then! Tell me how it goes. I might follow along.

  20. 181 PorterGirl August 13, 2014 at 13:21

I would always pick a Peavey over any amp! Although these are super cool too http://www.hamsteadsoundworks.com/artistseries/

Never give up your pirate dreams. Arrrrhhhh!

Thise things in your hand look scarey – they are not Japanese Hornets, are they?!

I do love a bit of Jethro Tull. I had Aqua Lung on just this weekend.

You look very cheerful while swimming. And how attractive you are on the patio!

I think the lie is the one with the weights. Maybe they are really as light as a feather!

    • 182 Professor VJ Duke August 13, 2014 at 13:33

*laughs* Yes, right? They’re just so grand. Even that little one there. Never heard of those before…but I like what I see!

I’m in the market to find a ship!

Yes, they are! That’s them. Vicious things. They even kill Mantises!

Did you really? That’s a great song, or album. It’s professorish at times, you know.

*laughing* Yes, but the patio me is supposed to grow. I think whoever I bought me from lied to me! That thing is supposed to be at least three feet tall, and it’s been years since I planted it!

I wish they were! It’s dadblame heavy! Too heavy. But a good heavy, you know.

If you find a ship I will come pirate-ing with you. I know lots of rude songs we could sing and I can swish a cutlass. Oh, to be a pirate…

Them things are evil looking. Are those ones alive? Have you trained them to do your bidding? They make me rather nervous.

Both the song and the album are fab. I like Songs From The Wood as well – that is very Professorish.

I wonder why the patio you does not grow. Maybe the pot is not big enough. I like to have a pot of random weeds and grass on my patio. People look at it and think ‘Whaaa?’ but I like it.

How many times do you life the weights? Have you ever dropped one on your foot?

*laughs* Rude songs! You must teach me. Though it might clash with my gentlemen training, you know. (I have to train at it since it doesn’t come naturally.)

No, I think they’re dead. And, sadly, that was the lie. I have none. They are very, very, very mean. Yucketh!

Oh yes! It is, you’re right. Reminds me of fall for some reason.

*laughs* And I bet you explain to them how great a bucket of weeds really is!

To many times, I fear. That particular one I use for curling. A bunch of repetitions, a lighter weight. I have not! I bet it’d hurt, though!

      • 185 PorterGirl August 13, 2014 at 20:08

I shall teach them to you happily, Professor! Some are quite rude, though. Gentleman training sounds interesting – is there a special school in the PL?

I am glad they are dead. Dreadful things.

A bucket of weeds is unsurpassed. I dare anyone to say different!

That’s impressive that you work out. I just lift food to my mouth and chew.

      • 186 Professor VJ Duke August 14, 2014 at 13:12

There is a special school! But I play hooky all the time. Rude is fine…!

They sure are. Horrid, horrid things, too.

Yes! Otherwise…we’ll fight them to the death!

*laughing* That’s a good workout! I’ve also heard drinking ice water is, too. Burns calories.

What about a sweet Marshall double stack?

Those bugs are large and horrid. They scare me almost as much as a tornado.

Your garden seems to be full of many very tiny shruberries.

That’s the best one can get! As long as The Who aren’t about, you know.

Yes! Giant Jap Hornets. They can kill, you know. Do you see the stingers on those things???

Yes and what’s with that? I mean, that one land one is supposed to be three feet tall! I planted it years ago. It really vexes me.
