*nods nods* silent ones almost always do the trick.

    Excellent proverbs from PorterGirl!

Isn’t Malone a secret agent of sorts too? Has he met Lottie before?

What show were Smiles and Merlin watching?

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:04

      They sure do.

He is! I think he taught Lottie, interestingly enough. They’re so wicked those two.

Well, if it wasn’t a play, I think it was Divergent.

      • 3 Hazy September 14, 2014 at 08:31

Oh, really?! That’s interesting indeed. I kinda like Malone. Is he really as wicked as Lottie?

*laughs* Divergent! I can imagine Smiles asking Merlin tons of questions not related to the movie throughout the movie.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke September 15, 2014 at 13:16

Well, I don’t think so. You know, I’m starting to think both those chaps aren’t wicked!

*laughing too* Yes, I sure can see that too!

      • 5 Hazy September 17, 2014 at 12:23

They’re complicated, I suppose. Wickedly complicated? With spies like them… their secrets probably have secrets, you know. Mysteriously interesting. *laughs*

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2014 at 14:32

*nods and laughs* I do see what you mean!

  2. 7 masgautsen August 20, 2014 at 06:28

This LottiOllie sounds exiting. Devious and sneaky agents usually makes for good entertainment!

    • 8 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:32

They do! But isn’t there something appealing about her, too?

      • 9 masgautsen August 20, 2014 at 14:52

        Very much so

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:43

It must be the black leather and knives. I like her knives. They’re very sharp.

  3. 11 Susan P August 20, 2014 at 00:08

Little Lottie Ollie is it? Who let her into the PL anyway?

    I’m betting on Manly-man.

    • 12 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:21

*laughs* Love your take on that! I don’t know! I should find out. Should she be thrown out?

Oh…it’s possible. But he denies it.

      • 13 Susan P August 20, 2014 at 13:48

He always dodges the bullets and comes out smelling like lavender.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:38

Perfect expression! I think you have something there, too.

      • 15 Susan P August 20, 2014 at 21:16

Of course I have something. :) It’s a toss-up between him and MM for favorites.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 00:46

DS and MM? I like them, too. Sometimes, you know.

      • 17 Susan P August 21, 2014 at 15:34

        I can see that. :D

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:21

        *laughs*

      • 19 Susan P August 22, 2014 at 13:56

        giggle

  4. 20 erinkenobi2893 August 19, 2014 at 19:20

LottieOllie is trouble, all right. And she’s obnoxious besides.
The proverbs are excellent, as always :-) I especially like the one about forgetfulness being a lazy excuse. Very well thought out!

    • 21 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:36

Yes! A problem. (I think she’s the one who faked the invitations, you know.)

Thanks! I find that to be the case. Except for the professor. Sith professors are allowed to forget. I’m sure Rosalie would agree.

      • 22 erinkenobi2893 August 20, 2014 at 11:57

        Oh dear…
Well, I can imagine. If you don’t forget certain things, your colleagues might want to kill you… which is another reason why I’d make a bad Sith. I’m not good at remembering people’s names… which might make Sith angry… and I have an otherwise photographic memory.

      • 23 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:36

I’m sure we’d overlook that stuff. Don’t you feel it might be your destiny?

      • 24 erinkenobi2893 August 21, 2014 at 00:37

No, I don’t think so. Right now, I feel that my destiny is to be given infinite grief by bureaucracy’s marvels.

      • 25 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 00:53

*laughing* Love how you put that!

      • 26 erinkenobi2893 August 21, 2014 at 14:30

        :-P I do have a certain turn of phrase… :-P

      • 27 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:10

        *nods and laughs* You do.

      • 28 erinkenobi2893 August 22, 2014 at 13:20

        X-P

  5. 29 The Lite Rider August 19, 2014 at 13:45

I like proverb #1 — I would like to blurt that out when certain PL residents are having what they call a “conversation”! ;-)

Love that even MM could be afraid of Lottie. With good reason! And you can’t trust secret agents! I do recall the Professor’s “Lottie Incident”!

Oh my. The conversation between Smiles Riot and Arthur proves why #1 is the best proverb! Exasperated sigh! :)

    • 30 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:28

Yes! Right on. That’d be a good answer for that.

And it was horrid. Lottie is scary. But I think she may be sweet. How do you suppose I should go about telling whether she is or not?

      *laughing*

      • 31 The Lite Rider August 19, 2014 at 20:56

Perhaps you could offer Lottie some PL brand chocolates …..

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:14

From Mortimer! Maybe. Or Ruber. That’d fetch her.

  6. 33 Bethy August 19, 2014 at 09:53

I love all the proverbs! Although I have to say sometimes forgetfulness is a good excuse even for people who aren’t the Professor.

And I hate it when I blink and miss the whole show.

    • 34 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 12:05

Yes, I agree. (That’s why I didn’t like that dadblame proverb!) I think he wrote it with me in mind.

Yes, me too. It must be the worst, horrid thing ever.

  7. 35 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 19, 2014 at 02:48

I bank on proverb number one all the time, Duke. #2 is yours all the way! Shnoddy has my number this week, however, PorterGirl’s grandfather sounds amazing and like someone I need to have coffee with right away. I really need to believe that he’s right, so I am. Wholeheartedly.

Lottie had better hope she doesn’t run into me this week. MM should stay close to me if he’s scared of her. I’ve got his back. I’m pretty tough. A lot of people are afraid of my “not a smile”…

Merlin needs to pull something out of his hat, I think.

    • 36 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:56

#2 has nothing to do with the professor, dadblameit! Yes, I’d sit down with him too. Only I’d have tea, I’d think. The professor would want to hear more proverbs, you see.

Aha! Do you think Lottie would be easy to wrestle and throttle? It’s possible. MM would be so mad to see this, you know! Not a smile…that sounds glorious! Is it when you’re cranky?

      A rabbit?

      • 37 Manly Man (@JazzyCouldren) August 19, 2014 at 12:18

Hey, yeah. I’s gonna break you, PJ. You knows I ain’t afraid of no woman?

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:22

*laughs* Don’t get so angry! Are you angry?

      • 39 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 19, 2014 at 22:02

That proverb has you written all over it. Yes, the two of you can have tea. I’m having coffee, I think. Tea’s a bit weak. I am always up for more proverbs.

Well, maybe, if she doesn’t have a gun. Yes, he would be…let’s tell him. *pushes you forward* Yes, my not a smile is when I’m cranky…still a bit smiley, probably.

        Or a dove..

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:20

        How about coffee flavored tea?

She’s armed to the teeth! (I bet her teeth or armed!)

        I like pigeon doves.

      • 41 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 20, 2014 at 15:39

Is there such a thing, Duke?

        Oh…nasty.

*laughs and then stares at you* You would…

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:49

I don’t know… Is there? You must tell me!

*laughs* Why are you staring at me?

      • 43 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 20, 2014 at 20:41

I have no clue…seems coffee is strong tea, actually.

Just sounds like something you’d say…that’s all. *smirking* shakes her head*

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 00:45

I’m always saying weird things, I fear.

      • 45 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 21, 2014 at 01:57

I like that about you, Duke.

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 13:43

        *laughs*

      • 47 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 21, 2014 at 18:35

        *crosses her eyes* What?

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:33

        Now they’re stuck!

      • 49 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 22, 2014 at 14:15

No…they are super eyes. Never happens.

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke August 23, 2014 at 16:40

        Yeah, that’s a myth anyway.

      • 51 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 23, 2014 at 17:24

Yeah, after a year of talking to you, if it was gonna happen it would have by now. *runs*

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke August 24, 2014 at 17:40

*laughing lots* I must be maddening!

      • 53 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister August 24, 2014 at 19:42

YOU ARE!! *shouts back at you*

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke August 25, 2014 at 13:28

        Nice!

  8. 55 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 01:03

Does a silent conversation include when I talk to my cats? :D

    • 56 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:30

*laughing* It sure does! Do you suppose you’ll name your next cat ‘professor’?

      • 57 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 01:33

No, my next cat’s name will be Adam!! Or Owl…I’m in an Owl City phase….

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:38

Owl is a good name, for sure. How about Cheech?

      • 59 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 01:39

Cheech?? Umm…is that your cat’s name? XD

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:40

*laughing* No…I’ve got Charlemagne and Neffy. I say, you hate Cheech, don’t you?

      • 61 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 01:41

Awwwww!!!!! Charlemagne is soooooo cute!!!!!! I’m stealing it. Uh, kinda…:D No offense!

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:49

*smiles bigly* You can definitely! It’s a great name. My Charlemagne has a bit of Russian Blue in him!

      • 63 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 17:41

        AWWWWW!!!

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:33

        Yeah, he’s sweet.

      • 65 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 20:34

        :D

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:36

        ==]:{)+

      • 67 icedmocha34 August 19, 2014 at 20:37

        Woah, that’s scary

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:13

It can’t be! That’s me! Well, it probably does stretch the truth a bit.

  9. 69 walt walker August 18, 2014 at 20:20

I like silent conversations. Those are my favorite. I also like the kind where one person just looks at another a certain way and gets them to do their bidding. That’s not so much a coversation, though, is it? I’m not sure what that is. Other than neatio.

    • 70 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:23

Haha! Love your use of neatio, for sure. Yes! I wish I could do that. Can you do that, Walt? Just look at someone and have them do what you want?

      • 71 walt walker August 19, 2014 at 02:04

        :| … …

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:50

        It worked, I tell you.

      • 73 walt walker August 20, 2014 at 01:35

Excellent! Although I’m not sure I know what it was I wanted you do to do. Now you should try it on someone.

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:25

Well, Walt, that’s the easy part. Just use the face and think something you want someone to do, and it should work.

  10. 75 lindsaycummingswrites August 18, 2014 at 19:56

Hmmm…difference between short and long? Perhaps, perception. Hope the weather is well there :)

    • 76 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:21

Good answer! It is. How’s it there?

      • 77 lindsaycummingswrites August 19, 2014 at 14:15

I’ve seen that the PL can have some pretty crazy storms. It’s beautiful here right now :) Thanks for asking, Professor.

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:31

It sure can, you’re right! Is the moon out?

      • 79 lindsaycummingswrites August 20, 2014 at 03:55

        It is now :)

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:29

        Werewolves!

      • 81 lindsaycummingswrites August 20, 2014 at 13:30

        Witches and vamps too?

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:42

Ooo! Very possible. Which is the worst do you suppose?

      • 83 lindsaycummingswrites August 20, 2014 at 13:47

        All three working together!!

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:38

*holds his katana close* We’re outnumbered!

  11. 85 Sonya Solomonovich August 18, 2014 at 17:52

The difference between short and long? That is a good question! Will Merlin be able to answer it or is he just going to forget about it the next day like most PLers do?

    • 86 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:19

Probably forget about it, I fear, Sonya. What do you suppose the difference is? (Can’t say I know!)

      • 87 Sonya Solomonovich August 19, 2014 at 05:07

It’s hard to define it in a pure way without resorting to talking about minutes or centimeters or what not. You know, I don’t think I can answer it either. Perhaps Mr. Magi could.

      • 88 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:58

Yes, I bet you’re right. So, I suppose it was a good question from Smiles. See, he does that. Asks questions that seem simple, but are not!

  12. 89 Lady Cheetah August 18, 2014 at 17:18

“Sometimes the most effective conversation is the silent one.”
Most excellent Punchy Proverb because no one can ever misinterpret what was not said.

    • 90 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:17

And excellent commentary on it, Lady. Very true. That’s why the professor talks a lot you know.

  13. 91 InfiniteZip August 18, 2014 at 15:35

Lottieollie sounds intriguing…and I like number one proverb best, but I’ll keep quiet now.

    • 92 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:14

Zippy, you never have to keep quiet! (Unless you want.) She is! Do you suppose she’s nice?

      • 93 InfiniteZip August 19, 2014 at 09:12

If you say she is, I trust you. I think you only hang with nice people, right?

      • 94 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:59

Well…mostly. But you see, Zippy, the mean ones chase me down.

  14. 95 Jackie (Lostinthot) August 18, 2014 at 15:29

I gotta go with PorterGirl’s proverbs! I like Smiles Riot – he’s irreverent. Will we be hearing more about LottieOllie?

    • 96 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:13

For sure, Jackie! Lottie is one of those. Do you like her?

      • 97 Jackie (Lostinthot) August 19, 2014 at 01:29

        I like her name!

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:32

Me too! Even if she is wicked. But so am I. *smiles proudly*

      • 99 Jackie (Lostinthot) August 19, 2014 at 01:34

        Aren’t we all sometimes?!

      • 100 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:39

For sure! But Lottie is scary.

      • 101 Jackie (Lostinthot) August 19, 2014 at 10:02

Look what she does – you can’t be a whimp!

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 12:06

Right you are! *grabs his sword* How do I look now?

      • 103 Jackie (Lostinthot) August 19, 2014 at 12:47

        Like you’re ready for battle!

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:26

        Awesome!!!

  15. 105 Angeline M August 18, 2014 at 15:08

A feast is good enough. Especially with silent conversations when the short ones can be too long.

    • 106 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:11

*laughing* Love how you put that together! Do you suppose the eyes can speak?

  16. 107 weggieboy August 18, 2014 at 13:57

Chocolate aside, all four sayings work well today!

    • 108 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:10

Oh, you can’t possibly like chocolate that much!

  17. 109 Catherine August 18, 2014 at 13:54

Love all the proverbs! And the new name.

    • 110 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:10

Aren’t the colors nice? *smiles proudly*

      • 111 Catherine August 20, 2014 at 04:49

They are! You should be proud! *smiles back*

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:30

Aw! I think I am. At least, I hope I am.

      • 113 Catherine August 22, 2014 at 15:51

I’m glad! (We can say you are.)

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke August 23, 2014 at 16:45

That’s perfect! I’d be lost without your decisions.

      • 115 Catherine August 24, 2014 at 00:36

        *smiles* Aw, thank you.

      • 116 Professor VJ Duke August 24, 2014 at 17:48

        *bows*

  18. 117 FictionFan August 18, 2014 at 13:50

3 of the proverbs are so true today. But I must take issue with PorterGirl’s grandfather over the idea that enough is as good as a feast. Since you cannot have a feast without chocolate and there’s no such thing as enough chocolate, then this is patently untrue, I fear…

I’d trust Lottie more than I’d trust MM!

I bet Shnoddy could answer it – now there’s a man who can make short seem long…

The most surprising news this week is that the Professor’s on Facebook!!!

    • 118 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:09

*laughs* Hmm…well, but you must be wrong, FEF. You see, chocolate isn’t involved anywhere in a feast. Maybe apples. But no chocolate. Unless it’s a chocolate cake. And what happens if one eats volumes of chocolate? They would implode!

I trust the professor more than both of them.

      Oh…you know he’s brilliant! Like a fox.

Yes, isn’t it stunning? But why surprising?

      • 119 FictionFan August 18, 2014 at 15:14

Firstly, FF is never wrong! Secondly if there’s no chocolate, there’s no feast – apples, forsooth! Pah!! Implosion must surely be the ultimate aim of any feaster?

        So do I…just!

Yes, his proverbs often sound as if they’ve been written by an animal…

Well…I thought the Professor was too old for FB…

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:22

Oh, you must be wrong about some things. Like the long-legged Darby, for instance! I bet you never ate an apple! Not when I feast. You’re just supposed to look at the food during a feast.

        Just? That sounds ominous.

*laughing lots and lots and lots* How mean! I’ll tell his wife!

Me? Yes, probably. But it’s a good social media sight, I think. So…one has to do what one has to do. Do you use it?

      • 121 FictionFan August 18, 2014 at 18:35

Oh no, I’m right about him – sooo sexy!! (D’you know, I found it almost impossible to write that review because I kept typing Darby and having to go back and change it…your fault!!) Did too! Toffee apples are yummy! Poor Professor – what awful feasts you must go to! BUS and I will lay on a huge feast at the castle and you can eat all the deep-fried Mars Bars you want…

Well, you have been known to be wicked from time to time…

        I expect she knows…

No! I have a profile just so I can get in if I want to look at something in particular but I don’t use it at all. Hate it! Yurghhh! Worse than Twitter! Reminds me of the Simon & Garfunkel song The Sounds of Silence…

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:21

You know, you should let me send you…how should I put this? You know how you give me books? Well, I’ll tell you which men…are…good. There. (*laughing lots* I bet you hate me!) I fear if I ate a toffee apple, I would have no teeth left. Yes, I’ll take a few bars. But I’ll eat everything you and BUS make. Promise.

        I’m horribly wicked!

She still loves him! That’s devotion!

*laughs* Surprised you know that song! I’ll talk to you on there, if you’d like!!

      • 123 FictionFan August 19, 2014 at 13:54

*laughing* That’s such a kind and tempting offer! Especially considering your jealousy issues…so, who would you…er…recommend? (Never! But I bet Darby does!) Ah, so brave! My cooking is a little like Ruber’s only without the evil intent…

Horribly! (Except when you’re being c&a&f.)

        Or insanity…

*laughing lots* My great-grandfather told me about it! *laughing lots more* Ooh, so kind! Yet I fear I must refuse…

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:31

Hmm…well, maybe Vin Diesel, but he’s taken. How about a T-Rex? You seem to fancy dinos. *laughs* Oh, it’s not that bad, I’m sure. You’re mean to yourself.

        (Which is never!)

        True love!

You knew your great-grandfather??? *eyes like saucers* Refuse? Haha, you would, too.

    • 125 Manly Man (@JazzyCouldren) August 19, 2014 at 12:19

      :}

  19. 126 Julie Harris August 18, 2014 at 13:01

Loved all the proverbs… especially #1… silence can speak volumes!!! Smiles Riot/Merlin conversation left me smiling!

    • 127 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:07

They’re two crazy people, for sure! Did you know the professor can holler with his eyes? I’m not sure either. But I hope I can!

  20. 128 LadyPinkRose August 18, 2014 at 12:53

I have news for Smiles Riot. I blinked and my life disappeared. Forgetfulness is a sign of too much on the mind. And of course it wouldn’t apply to the Professor. Professor’s are always absent-minded. If absent, then where does the Mind go? Hmmmm…… Much Love, LadyP

    • 129 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:06

The mind goes to the dirt maybe? With the worms? How long was your blink, LadyP?

      • 130 LadyPinkRose August 18, 2014 at 15:19

The Mind goes with the froggies who jump and their gone. My blink was one nano-second and wow! I stare at old age. You tell me, how does this happen?

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:22

I bet you’re younger than the professor twice removed from it all!

      • 132 LadyPinkRose August 18, 2014 at 15:25

Ach! I’ve stopped countin’ the years, Prof. I just look what is in front on me nose and keep puttin’ one foot in front of the other. I’ve been at least thrice removed from it all!

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:13

Haha! Thrice is good. The professor is 100, you know.

      • 134 LadyPinkRose August 19, 2014 at 01:24

Well, that makes LadyP 300 then, does it not?

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:31

        No, it makes her…33!

      • 136 LadyPinkRose August 19, 2014 at 02:14

33 you say? I’ll take it I shall I thank you oh my! 33 to be oh yes! PLEASE. TY TY TY TY TY TY TY TY!!!! HORRAY!!!

      • 137 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:50

        I think LadyP is happy!

      • 138 LadyPinkRose August 19, 2014 at 12:57

Now whatever gave YOU that idea? *giggling*

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 20:26

Well…the comment, you know. You must like the number 33.

      • 140 LadyPinkRose August 19, 2014 at 21:13

Of course I do! Who wouldn’t?

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 13:15

        The professor!

      • 142 LadyPinkRose August 20, 2014 at 14:17

        Um, no, LadyP!

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke August 20, 2014 at 19:42

        I’m not LadyP!

      • 144 LadyPinkRose August 20, 2014 at 20:26

Are you sure? No wait, how could you be? You don’t like pink. What WAS I thinking???

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 00:41

P in LadyP stands for “pail”. And all pails are red. So, you, in fact, are red, madam!

      • 146 LadyPinkRose August 21, 2014 at 01:37

Wrong again, Sir! Do you sit on them, your brains that is? P stands for PINK PINK PINK! PINK, dangblammit! PINK! Like the ROSE on my header at Petals. PINK!

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke August 21, 2014 at 13:39

        I shan’t believe it!

      • 148 LadyPinkRose August 21, 2014 at 14:53

Reality is what you believe. My reality is PINK. Yours is RED. And if you don’t believe me, just go look at my header. It is a PINK rose. *grins*

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke August 22, 2014 at 13:12

You’re just doing that to throw me off. Did you know the professor wears white suits?

      • 150 LadyPinkRose August 22, 2014 at 17:05

        Sorry? White? What is white?

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke August 23, 2014 at 16:49

The professor’s suit! Have you seen it?

      • 152 LadyPinkRose August 23, 2014 at 17:20

No. Cause I don’t know what white is.

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke August 24, 2014 at 17:40

        *laughs wickedly*

  21. 154 John W. Howell August 18, 2014 at 12:45

Enough is as good as a feast really hit home when tempted with some delicious wine which was free.

    • 155 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:05

Unless somehow you could smuggle it for later. Was that a possibility?

  22. 156 Simply Skeptical August 18, 2014 at 11:56

Like the new colors Prof. #1 hits home with me since silence is golden and the eyes so expressive – no words needed.

‘Enough is as good as a feast.’ I need to remember that when chomping on my popcorn! :-)

    • 157 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:03

Unless the eyes are clouded up by makeup. Did you notice it’s hard to look at eyes that way?

*laughs* Yes…and cashews. If you eat those!

  23. 158 PorterGirl August 18, 2014 at 11:45

I had forgotten about my grandfather’s proverbs – what a lovely suprise to see them today! But actually I think number 1 is the best.

Oooh is LottieOllie up to something again? I remember your run in with her, Professor. She needs keeping an eye on.

Smiles Riot has the most interesting conversations. His question is actually a good one, I think! Merlin had better come up with a reply.

(Can you tell MM that I thought of him today – I was reading about a beach in Australia called Manly Beach, maybe he has been there?)

    • 159 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 11:53

Many thanks for the proverbs! I always love putting others in. (So if you ever want to send any over, do it!)

I think she does. You know, Lucy, I bet you could deal with her better than I could. I’m not sure what to do with such a person, you know.

Yes! You’d think Merlin would be able to answer that! I know the professor would. But Smiles does have a way of gardoobling the mind, you know. *shivers*

*laughing* How cool! I will. I’ll see if I can get him over to this thread…

      • 160 PorterGirl August 18, 2014 at 12:57

Do you really think I could deal with her better, Professor? I would follow her, for certain, and spy on her a bit. Then I would ask her cunningly structured questions. If that failed, we could wrestle.

I have quite a soft spot for Smiles, even if he does have a rather strange way about him. The Professor is smarter than Merlin for sure!

*laughs lots* yes, send MM over to this thread – I want him to know about his very own beach!

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:07

Oh, I think you definitely could! You’re used to investigating and all that stuff. I mean, look at the mysteries you have to solve! And I know you’d beat her while wrestling! Though, she is vicious.

Many thanks! *laughs* Yes, I feel bad for Smiles overall.

Do you know why it’s called that?

      • 162 PorterGirl August 18, 2014 at 15:12

I am good at wrestling. Not so great on solving mysteries, that sort of happens by accident. But I can be very vicious too.

I do not know how the beach got it’s name. Maybe it was named after MM? There might be a lot of manly people there, I’m not sure. I hope to visit it one day!

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke August 18, 2014 at 15:20

You are too good at solving mysteries! Then you’d take her easy!

Yes, that would be awesome. You’ll have to take MM with you.

      • 164 PorterGirl August 18, 2014 at 15:23

I think a PL outing to Manly Beach would be a fine way to spend the summer. I could bring The Dean, too. And Head Porter. He needs a holiday

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 01:13

Yes! Definitely bring Head Porter along. I’d bring a raft to float on–as long as someone was holding the line, so I wouldn’t go floating off.

      • 166 PorterGirl August 19, 2014 at 07:09

You should do that – I don’t want you to go floating off!

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke August 19, 2014 at 11:58

        Yes, me neither! Goodness.

      • 168 Manly Man (@JazzyCouldren) August 19, 2014 at 12:20

        I’s here on the thread. It done took me long, cause I was busy with manly things. :} I’s glad to know they got manly beaches. :}
