Sometimes, Schwarz is brilliant and inventive. Other times, he is just inventive. :-P
And ZeZ is watching the denizens of the Punchy Lands? Dear me. Something must be done about that. Did Zez have a comment, or did he simply spook the reporter who asked him?

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke September 6, 2014 at 16:00

*laughing* You put that perfectly. I think his idea should be skipped out on.

Definitely spooked. See, Erin, I do think you should go and…well…do something to him. Do you suppose we could put up a camera in his house?

      • 3 erinkenobi2893 September 6, 2014 at 16:09

Yes. :-P Though a hot dogs and ice cream joint would not be a bad thing. Mingling them, on the other hand… :-P
I don’t know. First we’d have to find his abode and scout it, and then we’d need a diversion. On the other hand, though, I think he might know if it was a camera. Perhaps I could think of something else.

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 00:51

Maybe there’s a device that will fuzz the cameras out for some time and half a time? Or something like that.

      • 5 erinkenobi2893 September 8, 2014 at 01:38

Hmmm… that might work. If we placed a circuit disruptor on the right circuits in the camera, then it would make the camera show up static or even the oddest ghost images. And unless you know what you’re looking for, you’ll never notice the camera was tampered with.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 13:13

And Zez has so many, he wouldn’t notice. Well, we got the way in now.

      • 7 erinkenobi2893 September 8, 2014 at 21:36

We’ll have to figure out the logistics, now.

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke September 9, 2014 at 14:42

        Oh no…

      • 9 erinkenobi2893 September 9, 2014 at 21:45

We should talk to some PLers and see if we can get some backup!

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke September 10, 2014 at 15:23

I’m sure we’ll be able to find someone.

      • 11 erinkenobi2893 September 10, 2014 at 20:39

Like maybe Schwarz and Ruber would help. And Manly-Man too.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke September 10, 2014 at 22:30

Yes, they definitely would. Maybe Henry?

      • 13 erinkenobi2893 September 11, 2014 at 12:00

I don’t know. More importantly, I don’t know if I’d be able to work with him in a team.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2014 at 15:50

Yeah, you’re right. He might ruin everything.

      • 15 erinkenobi2893 September 12, 2014 at 13:27

Yes. If I can’t work with someone as a team, it impairs my ability to effectively do things.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke September 12, 2014 at 18:47

        Sith are good team workers.

      • 17 erinkenobi2893 September 12, 2014 at 20:51

        …you think?
I seem to remember a little detail called “the Rule of Two”, which instigated back-biting and unchivalrous sneak attacks…

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke September 13, 2014 at 18:17

Um… *shifts uncomfortably* War isn’t fought fare!

      • 19 erinkenobi2893 September 15, 2014 at 00:17

… was that Shakespeare, or was it supposed to be Greek? I don’t really get it, either way. (Did you mean “fair”? or “here”?)

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke September 15, 2014 at 13:41

Fair! And I even saw that…and I was going to fix it…but it ran…the comment disappeared. Rats.

      • 21 erinkenobi2893 September 15, 2014 at 23:52

        Oh dear…. I see. :-P

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2014 at 13:19

        Burn the thread, I say.

      • 23 erinkenobi2893 September 16, 2014 at 20:11

Don’t you mean burn the bridges? :-P

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2014 at 14:25

Naw, the troops need to cross somewhere.

      • 25 erinkenobi2893 September 17, 2014 at 21:35

:-P Then maybe we should burn… the nasty food so we don’t have to eat it?

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke September 18, 2014 at 14:35

        Yes, let’s do it.

      • 27 erinkenobi2893 September 18, 2014 at 15:19

        >:-D *sets fire to the bad food using a flaming arrow*

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke September 18, 2014 at 20:22

Oh! I need one of those!

      • 29 erinkenobi2893 September 19, 2014 at 12:20

They are not to be used except in extreme cases, though; they’re dangerous weapons.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke September 19, 2014 at 18:02

I’d try and set Obi-Wan’s cloak on fire.

      • 31 erinkenobi2893 September 19, 2014 at 20:07

He wouldn’t be very impressed, and he would probably sense the arrow coming and use the Force to deflect it. :-P

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke September 21, 2014 at 19:22

*laughs* I could see him just looking at me with an eyebrow raised like, “Really?”

      • 33 erinkenobi2893 September 21, 2014 at 20:13

        That’s him, all right. :-P

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke September 22, 2014 at 19:42

Rats. Makes me feel like a kid!

      • 35 erinkenobi2893 September 23, 2014 at 00:16

He’s good at that, all right.

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2014 at 14:11

        *nods*

      • 37 erinkenobi2893 September 19, 2014 at 20:07

Unless you tried to set it on fire when he WASN’T wearing it. :-P In which case, you actually have a chance of success. :-P

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke September 21, 2014 at 19:22

Huff-Hum! I’m better trained than that!

      • 39 erinkenobi2893 September 21, 2014 at 20:13

Than trying to set his cloak on fire while it’s unattended? Very sporting of you. (And not very Sith-like, either.)

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke September 22, 2014 at 19:42

        *laughing* Hey! Well…I’m still training…

      • 41 erinkenobi2893 September 23, 2014 at 00:16

        :-P

  2. 42 Lady Cheetah September 3, 2014 at 18:59

If rules are made to be broken, penalties are made to enforce them—and adventure is there to facilitate the whole game. Now that is deep my friend. And I have been watched and followed. Not a good thing. Crazy should be a federal offense.

    • 43 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 20:40

*laughing* It should be. Watched and followed…does it worry you?

It is deep…but is it any good?

      • 44 Lady Cheetah September 3, 2014 at 21:36

Any time a man volunteers to follow me and his friendship is unsolicited then yes it is cause to worry.

The saying is deep and good. Moderation is the balance of life.

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 23:55

Have the knives ready for him, Lady!

Yes…that’s why the professor is unbalanced, you know.

      • 46 Lady Cheetah September 4, 2014 at 01:29

I like the way you think.:-)

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 12:30

        Yes. I’m a vicious warrior.

  3. 48 L. Marie September 2, 2014 at 13:30

Wow. All of the proverbs make sense! I think of hockey when I think of number 2.
And I must say I am really surprised that Daddy Salami would say “Eww” to anything after eating Ruber’s cooking.

    • 49 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:21

      *laughs* So do I know!

DS must just be giving Schwarz a hard time, or something like that. It is surprising.

  4. 50 Susan P September 2, 2014 at 00:05

“If you ever get that feeling, embrace it, because you are being watched.”

I’ve been saying that all along. Zez…creepy sort.

Mr. T. may have hit on something there. Sort of a salty kind of baked Alaska.

    • 51 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:06

Don’t you think you better throw it away, though? Instead of embracing it, I mean. Zez isn’t as creepy as the professor!

      What’s a baked Alaska?

      • 52 Susan P September 2, 2014 at 13:00

Ice cream with browned meringue on top.

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:16

        And a cherry?

      • 54 Susan P September 3, 2014 at 19:30

Not that I know of, but I suppose one may be supplied upon request.

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 20:40

        *request*

      • 56 Susan P September 3, 2014 at 20:56

*hands Professor not one but two cherries*

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 23:51

        *joyful face* Thanks!

      • 58 Susan P September 4, 2014 at 01:26

:D I love to see you joyful.

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 12:30

        That’s very nice of you!

  5. 60 icedmocha34 September 1, 2014 at 23:50

Pfft, yeah, my cats are always watching me. :D

    • 61 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:05

Do you think they plan to claw you in the night?

      • 62 icedmocha34 September 2, 2014 at 20:16

Oh, definitely. I’ll wake up and Adrienne will be sitting on my stomach, nose to nose, licking my face. *shivers*

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 00:52

Will you kick her off the bed?

  6. 64 walt walker September 1, 2014 at 22:22

#2 is most excellent. But it is not wise to pluralize ice cream. Unless it is Neapolitan. Which really is ice creams.

    • 65 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:05

Aha! Now I’ve always wondered if they pluralize Neapolitan. Do you think Napoleon has Neapolitan ice creams?

      • 66 walt walker September 2, 2014 at 01:17

Well, he was a little person, and it is said that little people often have a “Neapolitan complex.”

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:09

Haha. And I bet we could tell a lot by his favorite flavor in the mix.

  7. 68 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 1, 2014 at 18:09

I like proverb number 1. I just gave up thinking this morning. Decided I didn’t need to think anymore. I’m fairly certain this was a great decision.

I’m being watched daily. I’m 100% positive on that one. You should be brave about it. I mean you have my Magi to help you. Nothing better, Duke.

Hot dogs, ice cream, peanuts, cotton candy, beer and pretzels just put them all in a bun. I’m happy just being at the game.

Nothing wrong with the color brown, maybe the studio has chosen it as a favorite color. I bet it is beautiful no matter the color.

    • 69 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:04

*laughing* Now, Audith…are you sure that’s a good decision? Might be for the professor, now that I think about it.

Yes…I know. But Zez is wicked. What if he shoots me?

Haha! Great response. Yeah…are you excited about the start of the NFL?

Brown is a nice color–sometimes. I mean brown carpet would be dark wouldn’t it?

      • 70 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 03:01

*laughs* Am I sure? No. But I fear, I must stop or I’ll never move ahead. Yes, I think you should also stop.

Magi, will keep that from happening, don’t you think? Zez, had better not shoot you. I would be so sad.

The NFL? These dadblame Texans keep moving things around. Our local boy is gone now. The Packers are looking as green as ever! *cheers*

Brown carpet? Seems a bit, boring, I guess. So what you’re saying is that the outdoors of yours is like boring brown carpet?

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:13

Oh yes. Don’t fear! Move ahead, and trust. And be bold. It’s okay to doubt and fear…just don’t let anyone know! (Except your close buddies–like the professor.)

I’d block it with my katana!

Local boy? The Packers…how about the Pats, madam?!

Well, no. It’s quite beautiful here. It just turns into fall faster than the rest of the world.

      • 72 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 13:53

I am brave, Duke! (Yes, of course….*attaches her mustache and beard*)

        Now we’re talking…

Yes, Keenum. No. The Packers. Pats, are up to no good again!

Fall is amazing which means you’re the lucky one.

      • 73 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:26

I know you are! (*laughs* You look…great.)

        Yeah!!

I think I’ve heard of him. Yes…aren’t they looking spicy?

You’re right. Nick should see it that way.

      • 74 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 2, 2014 at 22:08

You’d better! (*sneezes and twitches her nose* Thanks…!)

Yes, once again my fear for the Packers.

        Yes, Nick should.

      • 75 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 00:59

        *laughs* Very well.

        *smiles proudly* That’s my Brady.

        He should.

      • 76 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 01:39

        No, mine. *laughs*

      • 77 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 12:32

You can’t have him! Unless…are you going to pull for them?

      • 78 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 19:40

Pft. NEVER! What would we fight about if I agreed to do that, Duke?

      • 79 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 20:46

About…romance and that sort of thing.

      • 80 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 3, 2014 at 21:49

But you don’t like talking about that with me.

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 23:57

        That’s true… You caught me!

      • 82 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 4, 2014 at 02:37

Ahhh! You just broke my heart.

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 12:35

        I did? But why?

      • 84 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 4, 2014 at 18:52

        Because you agreed!

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 20:05

        Um…I disagree the sudden!

      • 86 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 4, 2014 at 23:22

Far too late, my heart is shattered.

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke September 5, 2014 at 01:03

Well…how can I put it back together?

      • 88 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 5, 2014 at 02:53

        How? Hmm. I’ve no idea.

      • 89 Professor VJ Duke September 5, 2014 at 18:22

Well, I didn’t want to shatter it!

      • 90 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 5, 2014 at 20:03

        *gluing bits together* They’re everywhere.

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke September 6, 2014 at 15:51

        Well…it was a lie…what I said…

      • 92 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 6, 2014 at 17:09

*smirks* You needn’t say that, Duke.

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 00:57

*gives Audith a cherry and pickle*

      • 94 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 8, 2014 at 02:13

Ummm…. well, I see, ……no, thank you. Pickles? Yucketh. A cherry…since you’re fond of those and probably wouldn’t share, my guess is that that cherry hit the ground.

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 13:18

It did not! And maybe I eat off the ground.

      • 96 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 8, 2014 at 13:44

I bet it did… Well, that is an interest. Is that your way of keeping F and R company? *laughs*

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 19:34

Who’s F and R? And don’t blame it on my memory!

      • 98 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 8, 2014 at 21:50

Freya and Rommel?….did I spell his name right?

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke September 9, 2014 at 14:45

Fancy you remembering! You did… (But to be honest, I’m always wondering the same thing when I spell his name.)

      • 100 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister September 9, 2014 at 19:15

I was caught between two Ms or one. *smiles*

      • 101 Professor VJ Duke September 10, 2014 at 15:13

I’m always confused by how many ‘l’s’.

  8. 102 Simply Skeptical September 1, 2014 at 17:59

Well this was a mixed bag of tidbits. News reports are like that though.

Proverb 1 was a bit contradictory probably my issue. #2 perhaps a game that never ends. And #3 true as true can be. :-)

Leave it to Schwarz to like hotdogs and ice cream on the same bun. I could just hear Salami’s verbal disgust, hee, hee.

A bit unnerving to know ones being watched continuously. But it’s comforting to think there’s lots of places to hide in a dark valley. :-)

    • 103 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:02

      Very true point, SS.

Well, do you suppose Shond did that on purpose?

For sure! I bet DS was quite cranky on the matter. Even this professor doesn’t like it!

*laughs* I bet there’s cameras in the valley!

  9. 104 Angeline M September 1, 2014 at 15:59

Oh, proverb #2 for me for sure. Breaking rules and adventures are the ticket. As is hot dogs and ice cream, I’m just not sure pickle relish on ice cream would taste quite right, but I’m willing to try it. If it’s chocolate ice cream that is.

    • 105 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:52

Chocolate pickles? Ooo! Yucketh… Are you sure about that?

Breaking rules are great…but aren’t you scared about getting caught maybe? I know this professor would be!

      • 106 Angeline M September 2, 2014 at 04:27

Absolutely sure. The possibility of getting caught is part of the thrill; besides I have a sweet and innocent face and no one ever suspects me of doing anything wrong. I perfected this in my Catholic school years. Bwahahahaha!

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:14

*laughing lots* Priceless! So…we should think up something dastardly to do. What should it be?

      • 108 Angeline M September 2, 2014 at 15:07

        Thinking. *smiles*

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:28

I think you’ve got it, and won’t tell me!

  10. 110 Alastair Savage September 1, 2014 at 14:45

I want to read the opinions of the Punchy Lands’s most inept poet rather than the foremost one. Surely there must be such a scribbler around?

    • 111 walt walker September 1, 2014 at 22:18

      I second this.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:04

But…Walt, mightn’t he have vexing proverbs?

      • 113 walt walker September 2, 2014 at 01:17

But Alastair wants it. Therefore I want it.

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:09

*laughs* Dadblameit! I look and see, then, but Shnod’s wrath is on you!

    • 115 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:50

*Laughing* Ooo, that does sound exciting! And you’re right: there must be one around. Do you suppose that would make Shnod angry, though?

      • 116 Alastair Savage September 2, 2014 at 06:43

Poets are almost permanently angry, especially when they get together and discuss their non-existent royalty cheques. Walt and I are waiting now, professor…

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:15

*laughing lots and some more!* You and Walt are poets? I didn’t know this… Are you really? (I just told Walt I’ll try and find a bad poet.)

Hmm…maybe we should make a deal. I’ll do it…but you both must pull for the Pats.

      • 118 Alastair Savage September 2, 2014 at 12:48

Hey, I can do that. I felt sorry for the Patriots after Superbowl XX, but apparently they’ve been doing rather well since then.
I am a very bad poet but I’m sure I could rustle up a sonnet for you. >> checks Wikipedia << Oh, no, actually, a sonnet looks a bit hard.

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:16

*laughing* Now, Alastair…you should try! Though, I wouldn’t. You see, the professor is rubbish at poetry.

Great! Go for the Pats. I don’t know if I can watch them this year, you know.

  11. 120 InfiniteZip September 1, 2014 at 14:25

I like #3 best but not hot dogs and ice cream together, never, not birds of a feather, should not flock together ever.

    • 121 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:48

Very true. Birds of a feather are scary in a few ways, you know. You sure, though? Never together?

      • 122 InfiniteZip September 2, 2014 at 09:08

Not ice cream and not dogs, never ever.

      • 123 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:16

Maybe the unicorns would like it?

      • 124 InfiniteZip September 2, 2014 at 13:09

Oooh, forgot about them, they’ve been naughty, hiding and such!

      • 125 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:19

Have they! I’ve suspected. How do you punish them, Zippy?

      • 126 InfiniteZip September 2, 2014 at 19:37

Flogging? Nah, I just with hold their lucky charms kibble:)

      • 127 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:40

Ooo…I love those things. Do they like marshmallows?

      • 128 InfiniteZip September 3, 2014 at 10:47

        Of course:)

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 12:34

Well…don’t give them any till they come back. Though, of course, you wouldn’t be able to give them any until they did come back.

  12. 130 Jackie (Lostinthot) September 1, 2014 at 14:08

Gonna have to go with #3 this week. The only way that hot dogs and ice cream would work is if the hot dogs were actually cake made to look like hot dogs.

    • 131 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:23

Good point. But, still, that would be hard to eat! Such dadblamery. #3…is such a confusing one! It’s…dadblamery!

      • 132 Jackie (Lostinthot) September 1, 2014 at 14:32

It’s fun to ponder a proverb like that!

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:49

It is! My brain is messed with it now, though.

  13. 134 Debbie September 1, 2014 at 13:58

Ice cream and hot dogs go together but not really. I mean, generally, one eats a hot dog followed by ice cream, NOT a hot dog and ice cream together on one bun. I’m agreeing, ewww!

I find #3 makes most sense this morning, although #1 has a definite ring to it.

Does Zez have a permit for all those cameras — and all that watching?? Seems like he could get into a bit of trouble there if he’s not careful.

Happy Labor Day, Professor. Are you using the katana to slice your watermelon?!!

    • 135 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:22

*laughs* Yes…together they just don’t seem to…go… They’re at war!

#3? You must explain it to me. It’s confusing me something awful.

No, not at all. The other PL’ers are just too scared to confront him. You see, Zez is a powerful, awful fellow.

Happy Labor Day to you too, Debbie! *laughs* Yeah! I should! That would be so cool. Then you can borrow it–if you like. (Give Dallas a pat for me, too, please.)

  14. 136 FictionFan September 1, 2014 at 13:42

Oh dear! Shnoddy’s forgotten his medication again! #3 wins – perhaps Shnoddy should begin something new…like making sense, for instance. Though I quite like #2, too…

Ah, Zez is so mysterious! I suspect he’s really the good guy and Mr Magi is the evil monster.

Mmm! Schwarzy is so brilliant! Why has no-one ever thought of such a yummy idea before? I wonder if he’ll be offering chocolate sauce to top the whole thing off… *goes off into a most pleasant daydream and drools a little*

It might be because the studio is in a valley…but it might be because it’s in a weird parallel universe operating under different laws of physics, and filled with indescribable monsters….hungry monsters! Just a thought.

    • 137 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:20

FEF! LR just reminded me that football season starts this week…aren’t you excited?

Mr. Magi? And here I thought you liked him lots.

*laughs* No drooling, young lady! Not quite right to do. You must agree it sounds horrible! Darby wouldn’t eat it.

That makes the professor a monster, though… I might quite like that.

      • 138 FictionFan September 1, 2014 at 16:31

*laughing lots* Thrilled!!! When is Mr Wilfork playing? (Better not conflict with the US Open though…) Does this mean I missed the baseball season?

Er…no! I think you’re confusing me with another of your women again. (You’ll never be a truly successful flirt until you learn to tell us all apart, you know…) My Schwarzy could beat Mr Magi in a duel any day…

It’d be OK so long as the chocolate sauce doesn’t get mixed in with the ketchup…

        Or prey….

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:58

Probably Sunday! With T. Brady and co. It will be an interest. (What’s the US open? I feel I should know about this.) No…not quite. Good news! It’s still going on, so you can catch some games–if you like. I think you’d like Josh Harrison.

The professor doesn’t confuse anyone! You’re usually silent on your thoughts towards Mr. Magi, though. And you could have liked him! Like how you liked DS! I must keep up with your changes…that come out of nowhere! Well, he is a magician…

I’m surprised you know what ketchup is! *laughs*

        I’m the predator, young lady!

      • 140 FictionFan September 2, 2014 at 16:18

Oh dear – I fear it might conflict with the US Open final then – the tennis of course!! I feel you should know about it too! I thought T Brady had left or something? Wasn’t that why we had to promote Mr Wilfork to hero status? Josh Harrison does look rather sweet – he has an awfully wicked twinkle in his eyes. Yes, I think he can be added to my list…when are they playing next? *knows perfectly well that the Professor neither knows nor cares…chuckles*

Well, I don’t like to be too rude about him because a) the Professor seems to like him and b) I think he might actually BE the Professor. But honestly, he’s always around when trouble starts and he just seems to make it worse. It can’t be coincidence…

Oy! I’m Scottish, not Venusian, Cheeky Chicky!! It was the Brits that gave ketchup to you colonials, you know – like so many other things… *frowns Scottishly*

        Poor worms!

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:35

I thought Tennis was done, and said, and packed away! You lied to me before, that’s why I was confused. *ducks* Brady?! I hope not!!! He’s the team. He’s the QB. He’s the man!!! You just added him to your list…like that? *laughing lots* How’d you know that? There’s no possible way…

Well, some say I do that sort of thing. But Mr. Magi doesn’t! Huff-Hum and five roars to you, madam!

Venusian…is that alien? You did not! I bet there’s no tomatoes in Scotland. Only…squash.

      • 142 FictionFan September 2, 2014 at 22:46

Well, you lied to me – I’m sure you said T Brady had gone to another team!! If I’d known he was still around I’d never have transferred my affections to Mr Wilfork! Now I’m gardoobled! And goodness – now there’s Josh to consider too. At this rate I’ll have no room left for poor Rafa… I’m psychic *spooky face*

Oh he does! Mention one time when he actually solved a problem or made things better, huh? And it’s strange – very strange – how the Professor always leaps to his defence…

Not to other Venusians, I suppose. If you continue to be cheeky about the best country in the universe, you will find there is more than one meaning to the word ‘squash’, sir…!!!

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 01:05

I never said that! I bet you were watching football news in your spare time, and you got confused! Mr. Wilfork is sweeter than Brady. Forget Rafa. He’s ugly!

He’s a close friend! How do you suppose I get in on all these great PL stories? Mr. Magi usually tells me to come hither!

I wasn’t cheeky about the US! *laughs* Sorry not!

      • 144 FictionFan September 3, 2014 at 13:52

Did too, did too, did TOO!!! *stamps foot in frustration* Rafa only looks ugly when seen through the eyes of distorting jealousy…

That’s just so he’s not the only one wearing a top-hat! But if he’s your friend, I shall insult him no more… *crosses fingers behind back*

Oh…you are in so much trouble, buster…!!!

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 15:06

I did? But…it was a lie if I did…are you perfectly, professorish sure? *gulp* What if he has abandoned the Pats? Goodness. Too horrible to think on. I’m jealous of turtles–all the time.

*laughs* Well, Schwarz is my friend too!

        *offeres FEF a chocolate bar*

      • 146 FictionFan September 3, 2014 at 16:47

Is there such a thing as perfectly, professorishly sure. Sounds like an oxymoron to me… I can understand that – turtles are gorgeous!

You’re so lucky! I hope you feel very honoured…

        How big?

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 20:39

You could be right. But that means…one can’t trust the professor. That’s not very flattering, now, is it?

I do sometimes. But usually more honored.

        Umm…12 inches!

      • 148 FictionFan September 3, 2014 at 22:16

Oh, I always trust the Professor, most of the time. But you said you were an orc.

I bet my Schwarzy can spell…

        Wide? Long? Or deep?

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 00:02

I am! A trustworthy one, though.

I bet he can’t read! *laughs*

        Umm…all three!

      • 150 FictionFan September 4, 2014 at 15:02

        And a cute one….

        Soooo jealous! Understandable, of course…

Cor blimey!! Lor’ luv a duck!! I forgive you! (For whatever it was – I’ve forgotten now…)

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke September 4, 2014 at 19:58

        Then, I’d be the first.

        Yes…such a singing voice. *laughs*

I love those expressions! I’m going to have to say them now. So…memo to self: Always carry a bar of chocolate for FEF.

      • 152 FictionFan September 5, 2014 at 15:28

        And possibly the last…

        So true! *sighs*

But remember you need to say them in a Cockney accent. Good plan!!

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke September 5, 2014 at 18:33

Is a Cockney accent not the same as a Scottish accent?

      • 154 FictionFan September 5, 2014 at 22:55

        * shocked and belligerent face* How dare you?!? Though maybe they are when you try to do them…

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke September 6, 2014 at 15:56

Sorry! *laughing* I’m just not sure about it all. I’m confused, you see. You should explain it.

      • 156 FictionFan September 6, 2014 at 20:23

Well, it’s quite simple really. Dick van Dyke’s accent in Mary Poppins isn’t Cockney, and Mel Gibson’s accent in Braveheart isn’t Scottish. Does that help?

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke September 8, 2014 at 01:02

*laughs* In a roundabout way! It’s a hopeless case.

  15. 158 The Lite Rider September 1, 2014 at 13:34

    Where to begin.

I like the different features. And the circular logic of proverb #3. But #2 is my favorite (is that because football season is starting this week?).

Zez is to be feared, for sure. I’m counting on Mr. Magi …

Perhaps Daddy Salami will come around if PL’rs actually try Ruber’s hot dog and ice cream … sandwich? …. and like it.

Most interesting of all was the weather report regarding the studio. It appears that Nick is often pointing out the Professor’s misperceptions. ;-)
However, perception or not, it does sound as though the studio exists in a weird space, and perhaps time, continuum!

    • 159 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:19

*laughs* I didn’t even think about football season! Maybe that is why Shnod did it that way. Are you excited for football?

Mr. Magi will probably pull through…with some good plan or another.

DS might then see the beauty of it. But he’s rarely fickle. I think the whole idea scares him–and me! *shudders*

Yes…what’s with that, LR? How come Nick is such…a dadblame meanie?! That’s definitely a possibility. I’d like it too.

      • 160 The Lite Rider September 1, 2014 at 20:05

More excited about football than I used to be, which is scary, considering.

GAG on that Ruber combo. Ugh! Let’s hope DS doesn’t jump on the bandwagon.

I’m not sure what is with Nick. I think he has it in for you! ;-)

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 01:04

And you’re pulling for the Pats, right?!

That would be awful. But he might!

He must. You should…spit at him!

      • 162 The Lite Rider September 2, 2014 at 13:24

No, no Pats, sorry! I don’t have a favorite, but do like some of the older QB’s …..

As for Nick, perhaps the old poke in the eye with a sharp stick? On the other hand, free speech in all things PL is important! ;-)

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:21

*shocked face* You hate the Pats! Rats. Manning?

That’s true. But that point thingy is…well, tempting.

      • 164 The Lite Rider September 2, 2014 at 21:09

No, I don’t hate any team. Nor do I love any team. Yes I do like Peyton Manning and there’s another one who’s name I can’t recall right now.

      • 165 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 00:55

        Tom Brady!!!

      • 166 The Lite Rider September 3, 2014 at 13:46

        YES!

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 15:03

        Therefore…you may like the Pats!

      • 168 The Lite Rider September 3, 2014 at 20:52

        well, by default, yes

      • 169 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 23:49

        Aren’t I tricky? *smiles proudly*

  16. 170 Hazy September 1, 2014 at 13:25

I like #3. I don’t think I really get it, but I like it. *laughs*

Hotdogs and ice cream. On a bun. I’m not sure how I feel about that… Though I have tasted ice cream on a bun and ice cream sandwiched between a slice of bread (they tasted way better than I thought they would!)

A climate-controlled office, perhaps? That would be pretty cool! Has the professor gone ahead and made a holding cell at the office basement?

    • 171 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:16

*laughing* I don’t get it either! But there is something smooth about it!

On bread! What a wonder. Sounds like it would be very tasty indeed. Yeah…those things together probably should be skipped. And someone should tell Schwarz. Well, I bet DS probably will–in one way or another.

Aha! Yes, I have… Now I need someone to put in there. See…if a task is late…to the jail with you!

      • 172 Hazy September 14, 2014 at 08:42

Oh, I bet the jail looks awesomely jail-ish! Maybe Nick or Alb (or both) should try to be put in there first. *snickers*

      • 173 Professor VJ Duke September 15, 2014 at 13:18

*laughs a bit* Yes! Start with Alb!

      • 174 Hazy September 17, 2014 at 12:28

*laughs* I’m interested to hear what Alb thinks about that!

      • 175 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2014 at 14:33

        He’d probably say, “Shutup, stupid.”

  17. 176 PorterGirl September 1, 2014 at 13:22

What a great start to the week. Proverb number two is my favourite this week, as I am in the mood for rule-breaking and adventures. The other two are also great.

Oooh what can Mr M Have in mind? Being watched by Zez is terrifying and exciting all at once. I don’t mind being watched, as long as I am not having a bad hair day.

Ice cream and hotdogs in the same bun? Hmm. Not even I fancy that much. And it was looking like such a promising idea!

Interesting about the studio weather. Autumn is my favourite season so I think I would like your studio.

    • 177 Professor VJ Duke September 1, 2014 at 14:14

Yes, twas my favorite as well. You know…it would be quite fun to do that sort of thing. Well, maybe I have.

I’m sure that Zez is interested in Old College. Just a bit. And I’m not sure what Mr. Magi is doing! It is quite best to leave Zez alone–usually. He can be quite vicious. Bad hair day…is that when it sticks up?

It was, wasn’t it? Schwarz just needs sorted there. You know…shown the truth. He is onto something.

That’s great! I do love autumn, too. I should play in the leaves again, I think.

      • 178 PorterGirl September 1, 2014 at 15:08

I am often doing that sort of thing (but don’t tell anyone)

I would be nervous if Zez was watching Old College. But maybe he should visit and frighten The Dean. That would be interesting!

Schwarz is definitely onto something. I think he might be wiser than he appears, you know. Or maybe not. I like him a lot, either way.

I love to play in the leaves. I am only small so I can hide in them and leap out at people. Such fun!

      • 179 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 00:52

My lips are sealed until they are reopened. Won’t tell a soul!

*laughs* The Dean’s face would be priceless!

*nods* Yes…he could be. Also, he might have been trying to disgust DS. That’s a possibility.

Haha! Yeah! And they go screaming?

      • 180 PorterGirl September 2, 2014 at 07:20

I knew I could trust you with my secrets, Professor.

The Dean’s face is always priceless! Send Zez over at once.

I imagine disgusting DS is quite hard, he seems to have a high tolerance haha.

They go screaming, indeed! Haha I am so wicked

      • 181 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 12:16

You can! The professor is a trustworthy sort of chap.

True! Okay. I’ll see what I can do with Mr. Zez. (How’s your novel coming along?)

Another good point. I mean, he lived through Ruber’s cooking. That has to be special.

That’s one of things I love about you!

      • 182 PorterGirl September 2, 2014 at 12:26

Very trustworthy indeed. I shall tell you all my most terrible secrets.

Excellent (the novel is completed! You can’t buy it yet though. Don’t worry, I will keep you informed)

Although Ruber’s cooking has improved somewhat recently, there was a time it seemed quite dangerous. DS is a tough chap.

I love the same thing about you, Professor!

      • 183 Professor VJ Duke September 2, 2014 at 19:15

*laughs* Terrible secrets! Now that sounds so interesting!

Nice! Can’t wait. Definitely let me know when it comes out. (We’ll do a post for it, or something–if you’d like.)

Very true. The professor is still wary!

        *laughs* *fist pump*

      • 184 PorterGirl September 3, 2014 at 07:28

Terrible secrets are the best kind!

I will certainly let you know – I would be honoured for you to do a post on it!

      • 185 Professor VJ Duke September 3, 2014 at 12:33

        They sure are!

        Perfect! I’d be honored too.
