I like proverb number three, with one being very close behind.

The Pats did indeed crusy their opponent. What is up with the “almost a low scoring college basketball game” numbers?!

A diseased turkey?! Ugh! Can’t Ruber cure it somehow — maybe high heat? Or something? Odd that DS would want a turkey.

I like the new two word word. :)

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke November 6, 2014 at 13:44

*laughs* That means TB was on fire! Yes!

It is, isn’t it? I suppose he’s hungry. Of course, he might want the turkey for something else, I guess.

      Hey! It’s just one!

  2. 3 masgautsen November 5, 2014 at 06:30

Oh, I love the newsletters. The turkey I laughed hard at the turky bit.

    • 4 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:48

Many thanks! Yes! Wasn’t that a bit cruel of them, though?

      • 5 masgautsen November 5, 2014 at 14:39

Well, yes, but then again you would expect nothing but a little cruelty from the pair of them.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:10

*nods* Which is a very good point. DS alone is bad enough.

  3. 7 Catherine November 5, 2014 at 03:21

I love all of the proverbs!! But since I have to choose, I’ll pick number three. It’s very true. :)

They have football in the PL, too? Is it very popular?

    • 8 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:48

It’s rather popular, I think…but I’m not sure. DS played once, you know.

      • 9 Catherine November 7, 2014 at 02:57

        Really? Was he…good?

      • 10 Professor VJ Duke November 7, 2014 at 20:00

He broke fingers, when he threw.

      • 11 Catherine November 9, 2014 at 23:43

Oh, dear. I wouldn’t want to be on his team. Or at least catching his throws.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2014 at 13:14

Yes, me neither. *shudders* Especially on a cold day.

  4. 13 erinkenobi2893 November 4, 2014 at 14:17

Oh dear me… Poor Schwarz. :-P I liked the third proverb. (Also, I want to go boot throwing. :-P)

    • 14 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:35

Boot throwing would be difficult, don’t you think so? I think it might. Especially if one is throwing Fats Henry’s boots.

      Schwarz…I think he’ll be alright.

      • 15 erinkenobi2893 November 4, 2014 at 14:49

Indeed. Especially if he was in them! :-P
But Boot throwing sounds fun in general. :-P
He probably will, but that wasn’t exactly nice of the Salamis.

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:32

I think it does, too. I can’t imagine how I’d throw one, though…

No, it certainly wasn’t. Ruber was just looking for an out, I think.

      • 17 erinkenobi2893 November 5, 2014 at 13:34

Throw it so it flips end over end. I have some practice: in between snapping rubber bands at Schmidt (aka Red Skull) and Palpacreep when watching movies, I throw Anakin’s boots at them when in the Mind Palace.
        Ah… ;-) I see.

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:50

*laughing* You pick on him so much!

      • 19 erinkenobi2893 November 5, 2014 at 14:00

He deserves it. Both of them.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:06

Maybe that’s what drives him to the dark side.

      • 21 erinkenobi2893 November 5, 2014 at 21:22

No, he deserves it BECAUSE he went evil!!!

      • 22 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:30

        Did not neither!

      • 23 erinkenobi2893 November 5, 2014 at 21:33

Yes, he did! Otherwise why would he be trying to murder all the other people? And the same for Red Skull.

      • 24 Professor VJ Duke November 6, 2014 at 13:36

I think it was food poisoning.

      • 25 erinkenobi2893 November 6, 2014 at 13:42

*head desk* They murdered all those people…. because of food poisoning!? That’s not a good excuse.

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke November 6, 2014 at 13:56

Why else would The Chancellor do it?

      • 27 erinkenobi2893 November 6, 2014 at 16:29

*facepalm* because he was evil, maybe? I don’t know!

      • 28 Professor VJ Duke November 7, 2014 at 19:52

Maybe his planet was running out of O2?

      • 29 erinkenobi2893 November 7, 2014 at 20:48

        That doesn’t happen.

      • 30 Professor VJ Duke November 8, 2014 at 20:44

        Only to Sith it does.

      • 31 erinkenobi2893 November 9, 2014 at 12:45

Glad I’m not one, then…. Does it only happen to Sith because Sith rampantly deforest their worlds with their lightsabers? ;-P

      • 32 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2014 at 13:10

        They do that?!

      • 33 erinkenobi2893 November 11, 2014 at 18:26

        Apparently so…

      • 34 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2014 at 13:47

        I did not!

      • 35 erinkenobi2893 November 23, 2014 at 18:54

Maybe you didn’t, but other Sith do. (This is why you never want to run into a Jedi who’s sick enough to be hallucinating–)

      • 36 Professor VJ Duke November 24, 2014 at 13:33

Other Sith give the sweet Sith a bad name, you know.

      • 37 erinkenobi2893 November 24, 2014 at 13:44

Yeah, but there seem to be so many more evil Sith than nicer ones.

      • 38 Professor VJ Duke November 24, 2014 at 22:00

Do you suppose it’s in the food?

      • 39 erinkenobi2893 November 25, 2014 at 00:07

        Nah. Maybe in the philosophy.

      • 40 Professor VJ Duke November 25, 2014 at 14:05

        No!!!!!!!

      • 41 erinkenobi2893 December 2, 2014 at 13:22

        Yes!!!!!!

      • 42 Professor VJ Duke December 2, 2014 at 20:18

        *holds ears*

      • 43 erinkenobi2893 December 2, 2014 at 22:17

        0_0 I’m not THAT loud…
I have never been to the Dark Side, so how do I know if the food is terrible or not?

      • 44 Professor VJ Duke December 3, 2014 at 15:41

I could take you for a visit, if you like. (We’ll stay away from the Creep.)

      • 45 erinkenobi2893 December 3, 2014 at 21:20

…I don’t know. I’d have to schedule it in and everything. :-P

      • 46 Professor VJ Duke December 4, 2014 at 19:02

Hey, I’ll even get you a red lightsaber.

      • 47 erinkenobi2893 December 4, 2014 at 22:23

        I don’t know if I want a red lightsaber. :-P

      • 48 Professor VJ Duke December 6, 2014 at 19:52

        What?!

      • 49 erinkenobi2893 December 8, 2014 at 12:00

Well, I have a green one already. I don’t know if I want a red one. (The red lightsaber made Dooku look girly, actually. I don’t know how or why and I don’t know why I only got that impression with Dooku…)

      • 50 Professor VJ Duke December 8, 2014 at 14:47

It did not, dadblameit! He was so cool with that…

      • 51 erinkenobi2893 December 8, 2014 at 16:21

Maybe. It still looked sort of girly. I blame Sidious.

      • 52 Professor VJ Duke December 8, 2014 at 21:01

Did he have anything to do with it?

      • 53 erinkenobi2893 December 9, 2014 at 17:00

Well, yeah. He’s the one who gave Dooku red in the first place!

      • 54 Professor VJ Duke December 9, 2014 at 21:48

        Dooku made it!

      • 55 erinkenobi2893 December 10, 2014 at 12:35

Not according to the expanded universe. According to that, Sidious gave Dooku the crystal.

      • 56 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2014 at 15:27

We wrote that just to throw the Jedi off.

      • 57 erinkenobi2893 December 10, 2014 at 16:11

So you’re actually blaming Dooku? Wasn’t just offing him enough!?

      • 58 Professor VJ Duke December 10, 2014 at 20:42

        No dis, no dis!

      • 59 erinkenobi2893 December 11, 2014 at 02:40

        Okay…?

      • 60 Professor VJ Duke December 11, 2014 at 19:16

Dooku…I did respect him before we had him killed.

      • 61 erinkenobi2893 December 12, 2014 at 13:32

HE WAS A MORE INTERESTING VILLAIN THAN SIDIOUS WAS. He had a personality outside of “cunning” and “manipulative.”

      • 62 Professor VJ Duke December 13, 2014 at 18:07

So did Sid! Did you know Sid was once married?

      • 63 erinkenobi2893 December 15, 2014 at 16:39

Yeah, maybe he was… he probably murdered his wife, though.

      • 64 Professor VJ Duke December 15, 2014 at 21:19

        Nah. They had Obi’s dad.

      • 65 erinkenobi2893 December 16, 2014 at 13:52

That is pure nonsense and also impossible. Palpatine is twenty-five years older than Obi-Wan, and Matthias Kenobi was in his forties when Obi-Wan was born.

      • 66 Professor VJ Duke December 16, 2014 at 16:14

        Rats. So I’m wrong?

      • 67 erinkenobi2893 December 16, 2014 at 17:35

Absolutely and completely. Besides, Palpacreep is from Naboo and Obi-Wan is from Steujan, a world which is popularly believed to be on the edge of the Outer Rim, in a slightly less cultured area than Naboo in general, with entirely different traditions. Besides, i doubt that Darth Plagieous would let Palptine’s wife live if Palpatine didn’t kill her first.

      • 68 Professor VJ Duke December 17, 2014 at 14:37

        What was Plagieous like?

      • 69 erinkenobi2893 December 17, 2014 at 16:00

Ugly. :-P And mean. And manipulative.

      • 70 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2014 at 03:18

        Sounds like a Jedi!

      • 71 erinkenobi2893 December 18, 2014 at 14:05

No. Jedi aren’t mean. And even if they’re ugly, they’re nice.

      • 72 Professor VJ Duke December 18, 2014 at 20:21

Well, the one with a sphere for a head is mean.

      • 73 erinkenobi2893 December 19, 2014 at 01:47

        …who’s that?

      • 74 Professor VJ Duke December 19, 2014 at 15:46

        Amin something?

      • 75 erinkenobi2893 December 21, 2014 at 14:33

….no clue. Unless you’re mixing up another story with it…? (Do you mean Dr. Zola from the Captain America movies?!)

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke December 21, 2014 at 23:22

No, no. He has a blue lightsaber. And…Kadi something?

      • 77 erinkenobi2893 December 23, 2014 at 14:20

        …no clue.

  5. 78 L. Marie November 4, 2014 at 12:54

I have to go with number 3, though the choice was difficult this week.
In the case of Ruber and Daddy Salami, I can only hope they don’t actually cook Schwarz. You never know with those two.

    • 79 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:33

Schwarz might be able to take them, though. He’s the type, you know.

  6. 80 Me, Myself and DIY November 4, 2014 at 12:30

This is the first time I’ve really liked all 3 proverbs! Tough decision, Probably #1. I have some thoughts about the whole mirror thing – maybe that can work to my advantage. If the game is a reflection, does that mean we can reverse the scores?

    • 81 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:33

But…why would you want to do that? *cranky professorish face*

      • 82 Me, Myself and DIY November 4, 2014 at 15:11

hahaha! I must have hit a professorish nerve.

      • 83 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:33

But you do love the Pats right? *laughs*

      • 84 Me, Myself and DIY November 5, 2014 at 13:40

        Nope. *also laughs*

      • 85 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:50

        *laughing* Rats! But…why not?

      • 86 Me, Myself and DIY November 5, 2014 at 15:50

        Hmmm…because I like other teams?

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:21

*laughs* Okay, then…who do you like?

  7. 88 Simply Skeptical November 4, 2014 at 00:04

#1 for sure is the best! Ahh, to contemplate life can be sweet if one can stay silent enough to do so. Does that really ever happen in the PL’s? (Laughing)

    • 89 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:28

Oh, probably does. But one would have to look in the cracks to find it.

  8. 90 InfiniteZip November 3, 2014 at 17:16

    I like number three but I think it is a repeat….and I had 30 turkey’s in my yard….then I lost count.

    • 91 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:08

      Did you eat one, Zippy?

      • 92 InfiniteZip November 3, 2014 at 21:09

No, too hard to catch without a gun….they hide you know….not a big fan of turkey either….lovely feathers though :)

      • 93 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:13

I’m right with you. I don’t care for the taste. The feathers…do they make good pens?

      • 94 InfiniteZip November 4, 2014 at 08:38

Hmmmm.not sure….I use them to decorate my head thingys.

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:32

        What’s a head thingy?

  9. 96 Angeline M November 3, 2014 at 17:08

Proverb #3 is my choice for the week, upon which I will expand: “Everything happens for a reason. But sometimes the reason is that you’re stupid and you make bad decisions” ~author unknown. And there you have it.
I’m sure DS just wanted a turkey for Thanksgiving, don’t you think?

    • 97 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:07

*laughing* That’s brilliant! Maybe we should just make you the author, do you suppose?

Yes, that’s it! Hey, do you know when Thanksgiving is?

      • 98 Angeline M November 3, 2014 at 22:28

        Nov. 27

      • 99 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:22

        Many thanks, Angeline.

  10. 100 FictionFan November 3, 2014 at 16:19

    Go on, then…roar!

I’m beginning to think the Sausage is jealous of my Schwarzy too, you know, you know. Which would be very understandable…

    • 101 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:06

      Not for you!

I haven’t forgot about doing a Schwarzy thing, promise! I’m working on it… Do you suppose Schwarz is jealous of Rafa?

      • 102 FictionFan November 3, 2014 at 23:39

*gasps and growls* I see! It’s like that, is it? Well, then!

Work hard…life is a meaningless void without his sweet little voice. Ooh, I hope so…! *wistful face*

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:24

*laughs* See? I should say that your growling is…but I won’t.

Would you rather the music video or that? *laughs wickedly*

      • 104 FictionFan November 4, 2014 at 16:56

It most certainly is not! My growls are fearsome and… and…fierce!!

*glares* You could combine them – Schwarzy could sing!!

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:36

Well, so, when I growl…10 times yours!

*laughs* What an icy stare! Yes, I suppose. We were thinking on that…not combining them, but having Schwarz sing.

      • 106 FictionFan November 5, 2014 at 17:19

Exactly! That’s what makes yours so fluffy! See?

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really??? That would be fantasmagoricalicious!!

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:26

*bangs head on desk* You made that up on the spot!

        *laughs* It’s not that great…

      • 108 FictionFan November 6, 2014 at 15:05

        Bet it is…

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke November 7, 2014 at 19:49

        It’s not done yet…

      • 110 FictionFan November 8, 2014 at 00:22

Get on with it then!!! *taps foot impatiently*

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke November 8, 2014 at 20:51

        Like the other mother?

      • 112 FictionFan November 9, 2014 at 00:30

        Like Eleanor Powell… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37XhIuqsWVk

(Now be honest, that wouldn’t look right in cargo pants, would it?)

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2014 at 13:09

*laughing lots* I’ll have to make you do that quite often then. I love that song so much!!! *starts dancing*

        Umm…you mean the girl?

  11. 114 Lady Cheetah November 3, 2014 at 16:14

Proverbs #1 is the winner. I am there right now and oh the clarity one is to achieve by examininh the details.

Like discriminating wit, does numb nut count as one word?

    :-P

    • 115 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:04

But don’t you suppose details are vexing too?

Yes, it does! I love that. Do you work with any of thems?

      • 116 Lady Cheetah November 3, 2014 at 22:59

Details are vexing but necessary and numb nuts are ubiquitous. There is no escaping them.

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:23

*laughs* They are! Quite ubiquitous. But professorish professors aren’t.

  12. 118 Julie Harris November 3, 2014 at 16:00

My vote is #1… details are lovely. It’s the little things that count!

    • 119 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:04

      Yes…like…katanas!

  13. 120 LadyPinkRose November 3, 2014 at 15:44

Proverbs my vote is number 1. I wouldn’t want you to roar, no not at all. I’ve been mind numbed enough, thank you very much. LadyP

    • 121 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:46

But isn’t my roar rather spicy?

      • 122 LadyPinkRose November 3, 2014 at 15:56

        As in NUTmeg?

      • 123 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:03

Hmm…I need some egg nog–the sudden.

      • 124 LadyPinkRose November 3, 2014 at 21:33

*tummy grumbles* *mouth waters* Gosh darn it, Prof, I’m hungry and just the mention of egg nog got my stomach going. And I just had lunch! All that work in the editing room stirs up a powerful hunger! Whew!!!

      • 125 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:18

*nods and hands LadyP a cup*

  14. 126 Debbie November 3, 2014 at 14:57

Hmm, I’m choosing #1 today. Since the details make up the whole, this statement makes perfect sense. Who would’ve thought?!

Looks like Schwarz walked in on the Salamis at just the right time for Ruber but probably at the wrong time for himself! Of course, that depend on what D.S. wanted a turkey for, doesn’t it??

    • 127 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:45

*laughs* That in the PL something would make sense?

Good point! And one never knows with DS.

  15. 128 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 3, 2014 at 14:47

I couldn’t possibly choose one proverb this week. They are all beautiful. There is something about number 2 that makes me want to stick up for it, so I suppose that means it is more important to me than the other two.

Football in the PL must be more fun to watch. It has to be, Duke.

Discriminating wit. Hmm. Nope. Still two words. I enjoy Tommy too much thanks to you, Duketh. He is pretty cool.

    • 129 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:44

Do you usually favor the underdogs, Audith?

DS throws balls so fast, it takes the fingers clean off!

The sounds he can create are marvelous. Truly marvelous. I’m really glad you enjoy him! What if I put a dash between the words?

      • 130 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 3, 2014 at 22:18

Yes, I do, professor. Except, I highly enjoy those who flurish.

Yikes. Do you play with him often?

I do. Well, the dash puts things in your favor, for sure, so go for it! *smiles*

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:21

        Like the Pats!

        No…I don’t. I haven’t played in ages.

I’m always dashing about, you know.

      • 132 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 4, 2014 at 20:24

*looks at you crossly* Yes, just like your Pats. Have you even watched a game?? *places her bet that he hasn’t*

Good. You need your fingers to play for me one day. I can’t have you losing them.

Yeah… *takes you to a track* Show me what you’ve got, Duketh.

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:43

*laughs* Well, usually, I don’t have time. But I sorta watch through the internet. And this last one, I watched end of 3rd and on. I mean, I have watched whole games.

That’s what I figured. You see, I’ve stoved (don’t know how to spell that) many fingers in my day.

I use to be fast, but then I got old.

      • 134 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 5, 2014 at 15:03

*laughs* Identifies completely, Duke. I think it’s hard to make time for games. They take forever to watch.

        Sounds horribly uncomfortable. .. how?

You’re an old man now, I know.

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 21:17

Sure thing! And then all the dadblame commercials! *dies from boredom* Commercials make me die from boredom.

Well, the ball sorta hit a finger wrong. And then the whole finger is sore. I bet Mr. Warrior has had it happen.

Yes, what’s up with that anyway?

      • 136 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 6, 2014 at 05:00

I shut the whole thing down…or watch it on delay so as to miss the commercials by fast forwarding, but I’d rather not bother at all.

He just did, actually. Tuesday was his last game of the season and he sacked the QB…jamming his thumb. Next day, he ran it into a lab table in science class and moved it back. *cheers* (how strange that this came up, I think…who are you?) *laughs*

I’m not sure. Sit down here and explain it to me. *smiles*

      • 137 Professor VJ Duke November 6, 2014 at 13:50

Well, see, if you’d pull for the Pats, you’d want to watch, since they’re so good and entertaining.

*laughs* Did he really? The professor is an interest, you must admit.

Well, it’s probably not a lie.

      • 138 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 10, 2014 at 03:45

        *eye roll*

        He did! And you are!

        Tis a lie, I know.

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke November 11, 2014 at 13:16

        But they are!

        Wow. That’s just…cool.

        But how?

      • 140 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 11, 2014 at 21:06

        Yes, I know. I’m not buying a t-shirt. I won’t. .. *smirk*

        Cool…yeah, and dangerous!

        I don’t know really.

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke November 12, 2014 at 13:49

        How about a baseball cap?

        Why dangerous?

        Well, maybe you’re right.

      • 142 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 12, 2014 at 21:13

Not sure I want that either.

Injuries can always be worse which makes it dangerous.

        I know I am.

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke November 13, 2014 at 23:04

Good point. How about a beanie?

        True. It could get vicious.

        Well, how old, then?

      • 144 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 14, 2014 at 04:44

I do like those…a lotta. Do you wear one?

Yes, but no worries. The season is over. Weight lifting now…good grief.

I’ll tell you once you whisper it to me.

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke November 15, 2014 at 16:20

I do! When it’s cold. And those mitten things that have the fingers come out…or something like that. It’s best that way for playing outside. You’ll see.

        Nice! I lift…I think.

        Which isn’t fair, dadblameit!

      • 146 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 17, 2014 at 03:24

You don’t play outside, Duke. Your knives told me so… those mittens sound nice. Do they match your beanie and did you knit them yourself?

Yes! He’s nuts. Soaks up everything those coaches tell him and has fifteen questions for their every answer. I think I knew that. Yep. I did. I once asked if I could hang over your arm and you said no. *laughs*

Neither is you not telling me, Duke!

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke November 18, 2014 at 17:12

*laughs* Oh no. I’m actually searching for my beanie. Can’t find it, really.

I remember that! You should be proud. It’s always good to ask questions, you know.

        *holds ears*

      • 148 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 18, 2014 at 20:59

Maybe your beanie is in your coat sleeve.

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke November 24, 2014 at 13:28

        Nah, only worms up there.

      • 150 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 24, 2014 at 20:47

*laughs* You’re so unexpected. I enjoy that about you.

      • 151 Professor VJ Duke November 24, 2014 at 22:13

        And professorish.

      • 152 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 25, 2014 at 02:46

        Pardon me.

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke November 25, 2014 at 14:13

        What for?

      • 154 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 26, 2014 at 06:03

        Everything, I suppose.

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke November 26, 2014 at 14:08

        Then pardon me too, please.

      • 156 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 26, 2014 at 16:50

        You’re forgiven

  16. 157 PorterGirl November 3, 2014 at 14:46

I think I like the first proverb best today. It is very true and made me feel fuzzy when I read it. Boot throwing sounds like quite the past time – obviously it needs a lot of practicing! The PL is a marvel, indeed

    • 158 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:44

Yes, I wondered about boot throwing, too. I bet it’s not something you can study for too long.

What’s feeling fuzzy like? I’ve always wondered. Everyone tells me this from time to time.

      • 159 PorterGirl November 4, 2014 at 08:37

There is a recognised sport in the more rural areas of the UK called ‘Welly Wanging’ which is where people compete to throw a wellington boot as far as they can. They do it as village fetes and such like. I am not very good at it.

It’s like having sparkles in your tummy, warm sparkles. But in a good way.

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:32

Seriously? That’s an interest. Never heard of it before. I think I’d be horrible at it. Very horrible.

        Aha! Like wine!

      • 161 PorterGirl November 4, 2014 at 15:06

It is a ridiculous sport, but traditional, so it must be tolerated.

A bit like wine, yes! But with less falling over.

      • 162 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:33

I’d tolerate it, I think! Cool.

        *laughs* That makes sense.

  17. 163 walt walker November 3, 2014 at 14:44

If I must pick, I pick #1. Although I like the big picture too.

Now, I am glad that NE was victorious in the PL too.

    • 164 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:43

      What big picture?

      Yes! Wasn’t it quite awesome?

      • 165 walt walker November 3, 2014 at 16:34

Well, I mean the details are interesting, but I’m also curious about the big picture. I.e., are things in general goodish or not goodish. I prefer them goodish, on the whole.

How do you think Tom Brady would fare in the PL, I wonder?

      • 166 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:07

*laughing lots* Goodish…yes, I’d say–on the whole–everything is rather goodish. Or as goodish as goodish can get. Is that good?

Well, rumor has it that MM once played for the Pats in the PL. And he sorta broke Brady’s back once. But he’s recovered. The only thing that lasts is the memory of it.

      • 167 walt walker November 4, 2014 at 00:37

        Who recovered, MM or TB?

      • 168 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:28

        TB, I fear.

  18. 169 Susan P November 3, 2014 at 14:19

I think I like the third one best. It’s so…logical. And I don’t think I’ve seen a football game on the PL…someone is slacking.

    • 170 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:42

      Now…who could be slacking?

      • 171 Susan P November 3, 2014 at 18:37

        Nick?

      • 172 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:11

*nods* You must talk to him.

      • 173 Susan P November 3, 2014 at 21:23

He needs to get on the stick. I mean, people are awaiting his wit and wisdom.

      • 174 Professor VJ Duke November 4, 2014 at 14:16

        Does he have much?

      • 175 Susan P November 4, 2014 at 20:50

        Oh yeah. A metric ton.

      • 176 Professor VJ Duke November 5, 2014 at 13:44

        Wowawee…

  19. 177 John W. Howell November 3, 2014 at 14:07

Everything happens on purpose – unless it’s an accident. Is my favorite. There is a corresponding “All accidents happen without a plan – unless the plan includes one.”

    • 178 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:40

Aha! I like that, too. Makes me think of Tom Sawyer for some reason, you know.

      • 179 John W. Howell November 3, 2014 at 15:48

I do know. Now that you mention it, it does.

      • 180 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 21:02

        Something with the cave?

  20. 181 weggieboy November 3, 2014 at 14:05

Definitely Nr. I. Of course, I’m an old fart now, so I wallow in the minutiae of the past when encouraged!

    • 182 Professor VJ Duke November 3, 2014 at 15:39

*laughs* Now, now! Don’t be too harsh on yourself.
