A Bit about the professor

I think I do these type of posts every so often.

And I’m not at all sure why.

Are you? Anyways and all my ways, MW (her real name is Michelle and her blog can be found here) nominated this professor for an award.

Thanks, MW!

This award.

untitled-1

It needs some color. I think red would suit it fine. Now, I must needs give you seven facts about myself.

(1) I just got a Fugoo speaker. And I like it. Could be a bit louder. But it’s snow-proof. And professor-proof. Doesn’t crack easily, see.

DSC00975

(2) This dumbbell leaks metal spikes, I think.

DSC00972

(3) This clarinet is tops. A Buffet R-13. Really nice.

DSC00973

(4) I’m really running out of things to say. That’s what happens when you’re dull, see.

(5) The professor is very old. Older than the mountains, yet younger than the stars. Do you believe that? I hope so. If not, it means my lies don’t work. If that’s a lie. Walt Walker might be able to tell you. He’s Dick Hercules agent, by the way.

(6) That light back there is purple, and purple (as well as pink) is a girl’s color. Nice stage, huh?

60-IMG_0164

(7) This is exhausting: coming up with all these facts. Okay, last one: these are professor books.

There! Now you know lots about the professor.

That is a very interesting stage, Professor! (We should maybe do a duet sometime, on guitars. ;-) )

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke March 26, 2015 at 20:24

Isn’t that an interest? We should! Would be tops.

      • 3 erinkenobi2893 March 27, 2015 at 13:43

        Yes indeed!

  2. 4 Hazy March 7, 2015 at 07:20

Interesting! That speaker looks very nice. I think pink can be a guy’s color too. I do like pink… but I like blue too. A guy’s color would you think?

Why do you think stars are younger than mountains?

That clarinet looks awesome, and intimidating. It reminded me a bit of a gun that needs cleaning and assembling. Do you time yourself when putting it together?

I’ve tried blowing through a trumpet once. Couldn’t do it. *laughs* Bamboo flutes are easier.

    • 5 Professor VJ Duke March 9, 2015 at 00:17

Pink? You can’t be serious, Hazy! *burns all the pink shirts*

*laughs* That’s a good question. I suppose because that’s what I was told…but the stones.

Nah, I usually have it together in a few minutes.

I bet that would be heard! Lots of lungs going in for that.

      • 6 Hazy March 9, 2015 at 02:38

Yes! *saves some of the pink shirt from the fire* Some shades of pink can be manly. Do you think MM would agree?

        Did the stones tell you?

      • 7 Professor VJ Duke March 10, 2015 at 00:53

Oh, he might indeed. But… *tries to toss it back in* But…pink is just…well, I don’t know… *laughing* It’s girlish!

        They did!

      • 8 Hazy March 11, 2015 at 12:54

*saves it again* You mean you will never ever in a million gajillion years ever wear pink? *laughs*

        Did the stars say anything?

      • 9 Professor VJ Duke March 11, 2015 at 21:59

Exactly! Aren’t you proud of me?

They never talk to me, dadblame things.

      • 10 Hazy March 15, 2015 at 11:17

I sure am! But I think I’d be a teeny bit prouder if you could wear a pink shirt once. *snickers*

Are the stars being snobs or something?

      • 11 Professor VJ Duke March 15, 2015 at 23:47

You would? I think you just want to see me in pink. Everyone knows a warrior isn’t as fierce in pink.

Oh yes. I fear they are!

      • 12 Hazy March 16, 2015 at 13:14

Yes, I would! A warrior could be fiercer in pink! You never know until you try, right? *snickers* You should prove whoever says otherwise wrong. Show ’em what ya got.

      • 13 Professor VJ Duke March 16, 2015 at 18:26

        But…but…wouldn’t match…my…my…eyes!

      • 14 Hazy March 17, 2015 at 12:44

Pink could match any eyes! *snickers* (Are your eyes blue?) “The Warrior in Pink”… say, sounds like a good story with a brave and skillful hero!

      • 15 Professor VJ Duke March 17, 2015 at 22:06

That does sound good, I might admit. Nah, they’re hazel. See….now that doesn’t go at all.

      • 16 Hazy March 18, 2015 at 12:16

Oh, pink would go great with hazel! Or you could have a pink birthday cake! (Happy birthday professor!)

      • 17 Professor VJ Duke March 18, 2015 at 18:28

Thank you, Hazy! Interestingly enough, since I love cherry…I do usually end up with a pink cake! Hazel does not neither either match pink!

  3. 18 Ms. Vee February 25, 2015 at 23:54

    Congratulations Professor! I still think you’re a mystery. I hope you’re doing well. :)

    • 19 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:54

*laughs* Thanks, Ms. Vee! I’m doing great, how about you? And I’m old you know.

      • 20 Ms. Vee February 27, 2015 at 12:57

I’m doing well, and aging every second! Always a pleasure seeing you. And you seem to be as sharp as a tack!

      • 21 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 13:07

*laughs* Really? I was thinking I was getting dull.

      • 22 Ms. Vee February 27, 2015 at 13:09

Redirect the thinking process Professor! 🔛

      • 23 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 19:37

        That’s not fair, is it?!

      • 24 Ms. Vee February 27, 2015 at 21:42

        Well why not?

      • 25 Professor VJ Duke February 28, 2015 at 23:52

        Well…cause…dadblameit!

      • 26 Ms. Vee March 1, 2015 at 06:46

        Cause…what? LOL!

      • 27 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 12:33

        Wel…it just isn’t, dadblameit!

      • 28 Ms. Vee March 2, 2015 at 13:22

We will see about that! You’re stubborn!

      • 29 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 19:05

        As stubborn as a mule!

      • 30 Ms. Vee March 2, 2015 at 19:48

So glad you’re not denying it! LOL

      • 31 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 13:03

Well, it sounds spicy, doesn’t it?

      • 32 Ms. Vee March 3, 2015 at 13:53

Yes it does. I’m coming over to Punchy Land today. I know you’re misbehaving!

      • 33 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 18:39

        *laughing* Aren’t I always?

      • 34 Ms. Vee March 3, 2015 at 19:30

        Of course you are..🙅

      • 35 Professor VJ Duke March 4, 2015 at 13:41

*proud face* It’s my job, see.

      • 36 Ms. Vee March 4, 2015 at 13:49

        It’s becoming clearer 👀

      • 37 Professor VJ Duke March 4, 2015 at 14:10

        Look at those eyes!

      • 38 Ms. Vee March 4, 2015 at 14:11

LOL! Aren’t the beautiful? And…they are watching you!!!!

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke March 4, 2015 at 23:36

        *hides* They are quite neatio!

      • 40 Ms. Vee March 4, 2015 at 23:42

Come out from hiding. Don’t be afraid!

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke March 5, 2015 at 00:11

        But…there’s bugs!

      • 42 Ms. Vee March 5, 2015 at 00:51

You aren’t a coward. Fight the bugs or they are going to eat you alive🐜🐛🐜🐛

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke March 5, 2015 at 12:40

*draws katana* And kills them all!

      • 44 Ms. Vee March 5, 2015 at 13:38

LOL! They are bugs Professor! A katana isn’t going to accomplish the job!

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke March 5, 2015 at 18:41

        Well…a fly swatter?

      • 46 Ms. Vee March 6, 2015 at 19:13

Lots of them! I’ll use bug spray and you swat them. Oh yes we have to wear mask. The spray is strong!

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke March 6, 2015 at 21:36

        Okay!

      • 48 Ms. Vee March 6, 2015 at 22:13

        Agreed! That was easy.

      • 49 Ms. Vee March 3, 2015 at 14:01

Yes! I’m coming over to The Pinchy Land today. I know you’re misbehaving.

  4. 50 Nancy Loderick February 25, 2015 at 21:34

    Well Professor,

Even though we now know a lot more about you, you are still mysterious. In a very professorish way of course.

    Nancy

    • 51 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:52

*laughs* Of course I am! And I’m very old, you know, Nancy.

      • 52 Nancy Loderick February 28, 2015 at 17:45

        Well Professor,

You may be like Mr. Ken, who I like to say is “older than dirt.” :)

        Nancy

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke March 1, 2015 at 00:04

*laughing lots and lots* Does he mind that?

  5. 54 The Lite Rider February 25, 2015 at 21:28

What fun! However, you are not old. What are you, all of 30? I already know you won’t answer that, so no worries.

I liked the books. The clarinet I cared less for (though I recognize it is nice) as I played one in high school band and shall never play another. Ever.

As for imparting information, it’s always best to remain mysterious and seem to be telling things about oneself, when actually one is not really. :)

Loved that the dumbell leaks spikes. Mine do, too.

    • 55 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:50

But how can you be sure I’m not old? I think I’m old. That has to count for something, LR.

*mouth drops open* But…but…it’s a buffet! Surely you’d just want to toot a bit? Just a bit?

Oh, we all now the professor is old, and an open book. They, madam, are the facts of life.

Do they? *laughs* I don’t feel so alone now…

      • 56 The Lite Rider February 27, 2015 at 13:46

Oh yes, if one *thinks* one is old, one may be! And perhaps just a bit at the buffet …. ;-)

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 19:38

*Laughing* Oh dear. I must amend how I think, then.

  6. 58 Michelle February 24, 2015 at 23:11

Yay! So happy you did this! I think red would be great! Here I’ll grab blue and we can dual! :3
    http://www.funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/1892446/3/

    • 59 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:27

It’s a deal! But red will win, you know!

      3 minute brownies…that’s too awesome.

      • 60 Michelle February 25, 2015 at 21:52

Oh I know! I’ll always root for red! My college color too! <3

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:53

*fist thingy* Nice! It should still be your color!!!

      • 62 Michelle March 1, 2015 at 03:46

        Yes it should! Woot woot!

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 12:32

        It’s such a vicious color.

      • 64 Michelle March 3, 2015 at 06:00

        Rawr! 3:)

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 13:24

        *roars too*

  7. 66 Simply Skeptical February 24, 2015 at 21:26

Goodness Me!! I’m speechless and that doesn’t happen often. Actually, its never happened.. Only the Professor could do such to another wise garrulous girl. ;-)

    • 67 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:24

Do you like being garrulous? Most of the time, I mean.

  8. 68 Tiefsa February 24, 2015 at 01:28

Versatile indeed. A scholar with big guns from all the curls you’re doing with those weights.

    • 69 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:55

Thank you, Mr. Tiefsa. Doesn’t that weight bar thingy look vicious?

      • 70 Tiefsa February 24, 2015 at 22:07

Yes it does. How much weight is on it? I need to get in some reps. I’m getting soft.

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:25

That one…about 80 pounds? Or 40. I know it’s a big jump. There should be 80 on it. If there’s not, I messed with it.

  9. 72 John W. Howell February 23, 2015 at 23:39

Congrats on the Versatile Blogger award. I would say it is well deserved. Liked the purple and pink lighting. It is only girl’s colors on clothing. Think bruise from a sock to the eye.

    • 73 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:54

Very good point! You make me feel very good about the whole thing the sudden. It’s only girly on clothes. Quite right. You’re full of good points about these sort of things.

  10. 74 FictionFan February 23, 2015 at 22:32

Congratulations, O Versatile One! I’m so sorry your clarinet is broken – hopefully you’ll get a whole one someday!

(Struck by a vicious bug – probably in retaliation for all those insect jokes! Taking a few days off – back soon!)

    • 75 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:53

*laughs* Oh, you always make me laugh. It’s put-together-able!

No! FEF!!! Hope you get better real soon. Have plenty of soup and juice…no chocolate! Of course you’ll be missed. *sends healing hugs*

  11. 76 Julie Harris February 23, 2015 at 20:29

Congrats on your award :). Do you play clarinet?

    • 77 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:28

Thank you! I do! You know, Julie, I’ve been thinking that clarinet is an instrument that should be used in worship music more.

  12. 78 Debbie February 23, 2015 at 19:31

Congrats on the award, Professor, though I have to agree it looks rather one-dimensional. A spot of red would liven it up (or perhaps my favorite color, green?!)

You realize, sir, that you’re merely toying with us, much as a cat does with a mouse. You say you’re providing information about yourself, yet you’re still an enigma. Funny, men always claim women are the ones who are mysterious!

Speaking of women, purple isn’t a “girl color.” In case you’re too old to have noticed, colors don’t have gender associated with them! Besides, you look regal in purple!!

As for the clarinet, well, it’s a dandy. Mine was just a Band student’s version (my parents didn’t know I was going to stick with it and decided to cut corners where they could!). Does this one have the screws holding the reed on the mouthpiece facing toward, or away from, you?

    • 79 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:27

Green would be just fine! But not purple!

Now really and a few! What’s still confusing? See, I think I’ve said everything there is to say.

Oh yes they do! What gender is hot pink associated with? *professorish eye*

It is dandy! Well…it could go either way. But I put it on so they’re facing away. Looks cooler. And I look more like Artie Shaw then.

      • 80 Debbie February 23, 2015 at 22:15

Hot pink? Well, don’t ask a golfer! Or a football player during breast cancer awareness months!

Hmm, outward? We always placed ours facing our chins. Must have been a Band-thing!

And yes, I know of Artie Shaw. See? I did play clarinet! Wasn’t Benny Goodman his main rival??

*grumbles* Okay, if you don’t like purple, then color the award red.

      • 81 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:52

That’s a good point…but look here: I bet Dallas doesn’t wear any pink or purple!

Well, technically that’s how the double literature goes on…but I’m weird like that.

Yes! He was. I’m not sure who I like better. Sadly, today, jazz clarinetists are a dying breed.

        And black!

  13. 82 walt walker February 23, 2015 at 18:48

Dear me, P.VJ, that is a lot of books. How many times do they make you write them? It seems like once would be enough.

You should assemble that clarinet and see if it works. If not, I bet you could smash it with the speaker.

I don’t know how you get around, being so old and all. I am very sorry about your age. Good thing you are heavily armed so people will not take advantage.

    • 83 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:26

*laughs* One would think! They just keep sending me copies. Rather, they send me a bunch of author copies. What should be done with them?

Never! It works beautifully. I should play a tune for Dick.

*nods* That’s why I walk around with a sword on. When you get my age, you’ll have to get one too.

  14. 84 Angeline M February 23, 2015 at 17:12

Congratulations on this award, for you are indeed versatile. I agree with PorterGirl in that the more you tell us about yourself, the less we seem to know. It’s all so confusing to me, who is older than the mountains AND the stars. One more wonderment I’m left with is why you have so many copies of the same two books.

    • 85 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:25

Well, that’s because they give me so many copies. I get like lots of author copies. And then I have so many, I think about burning them! Horrid, huh? So…I’m still an enigma?

      • 86 Angeline M February 23, 2015 at 21:55

        Abdolutely.

      • 87 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:50

Oh…rats…what’s the biggest question you have for the professor?

  15. 88 InfiniteZip February 23, 2015 at 17:08

    But Prince wears purple…and he’s a dude.

    • 89 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:24

That’s what he’d have you believe, Zippy!

      • 90 InfiniteZip February 24, 2015 at 10:17

“Laughing”as she chokes on her morning toast and berries….really?

      • 91 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:57

*nods professorishly* It was a guess…I mean, we can’t ruin my hypothesis, see.

  16. 92 desertdweller29 February 23, 2015 at 15:50

Purple is not a girl’s color, Professor! It’s the color of mountains majesty. Congrats! I think you should get a purple statue. It would be handsome on the shelf next to your reading collection.

    • 93 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:23

But a purple statue of what, do you suppose? Purple! Come now! It’s as girlish…as…lipstick!

      • 94 desertdweller29 February 23, 2015 at 21:27

Okay, how about purple lasers. That way it’s quasi manly. Judging from the crazy dumbbell, your manliness is not questionable, PVJ. Your sanity, however, well *shrugs*…

      • 95 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:28

*laughing lots* Have I lost my brain as well as my heart, do you suppose?

      • 96 desertdweller29 February 23, 2015 at 22:06

Oh no! Never! It’s the PLs, remember. It must be the air here… Makes us all a bit punchy. But that’s definitely a good thing.

      • 97 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:51

I think you’re right. Are you heartless, too?

  17. 98 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 23, 2015 at 15:33

Am I the only one who thinks Michelle is a knockout? ! Michelle, I bet you are lovely, and I shall stop by to say hello, but first things first, your eyes are beautiful and you have a good judge of character, as the professor is definitely suited for this award. Just be careful. He lies a lot. *hands you a coffee* Good to meet you, Michelle.

*shuffling through this attempt at your sharing with us* A fine new speaker, Duke. I think I have one, as well. Tis best for beside the pool. The award badge is colorless and dull, like you. Giggles. Suits you…

Is this the only barbell you lift? Plus, I’m thinking picking up its shards of metal is good for your abs and legs. So get busy.
I know nothing about clarinets, so this one you have is tops. I very much enjoy that purple photo. Lovely. You’re working quite hard here, I think. And this proves you are not near old. And that I haven’t read your books. Oh, and I feel badly for Walt. He must stay busy!

    • 99 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:21

Well, I only lie every other Saturday at 9 o’clock in the morning. For about five minutes.

An attempt? Come now, Audith. I was very open. An open book, remember. You have a Fugoo?

Colorless and dull…I think I like that. I always knew I looked black and white.

Well, it’s one of them, why? But it’s not good for the feet, when one gets lodged in there!

*laughs* It is a purple of photo. What do you suppose the chap is playing? But what if it’s not me? He’s much younger than me.

      • 100 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 23, 2015 at 21:51

Sems like a very small window of time for you to cause ruin.

Yes, of course. I must be mistaken. It’s the other Duke who is so secritive. *puts on her thinking cap* I’d have to think, but it looks a bit like that and can be outside…maybe someone else made it.

*looks at your Avi* Umm, yep. You’re black and white.

Oh…one of them. The others are hidden and kept secret. Ouch. Why? Shouldn’t you wear shoes?

If it isn’t you then it helps explain a lot and I may be a little more relieved knowing the news. Playing? This Chap? Hmm, not sure. Maybe the Peanuts Melody? I dig that tune. *smirk* Oh, tis something amazing, I’m sure. Purple background…lent….umm…*guesses* Draw me closer

      • 101 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:50

        I know…not fair, huh?

How many Dukes are there? I think you’re starting to confuse me a bit, bits, and little bits. -_-

        What’s an Avi?

Well, the others are in a different room. I actually sat that one in my office. Don’t you judge me! I don’t wear shoes when the carpet is so soft, mind you.

Now, why is that? Why would it explain a lot more?

Well, I was actually attending that performance. It was a Christmas mashup actually.

      • 102 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 24, 2015 at 20:58

Not really. No. *taps her fingers on the keyboard*

Dukes? Well, only one. *sparkles brightly* You’re confused?! *throws her hands up in the air and papers go flying*

Gravatar…I just learned it. Cool, right? *knows-it-all*

Oh, I see. Being bossy again. I wasn’t judging…Do you lift with your ninja gear on? Would explain the no shoes thing…I think.

        Don’t remember.

Attending. Got it. A mashup? Tell me more, please.

      • 103 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:20

        *taps his in reply*

Yes! Only one. Well, you started the confusion!

*laughs* I’m proud–and amazed! Mr. Warrior must’ve told you. And now I get it about being b&w.

I must admit: I haveth not ninja gear.

Well…three Christmas tunes. O Come All Ye Faithful, Away In a Manger, and Joy to the World. It was quite spicy.

      • 104 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 25, 2015 at 03:46

        *sways to the beat*

Oh my gosh….you are not, I mean not, going to blame me for making me confused! No, Sir…. you put that colorful little coat on you and own it, Duke. My fault, indeedly not! *spits*

*smiles brightly* Nope…Twas not him. Another much older gentleman, actually. You could have warned me, you know.

Ninja Rats shouldth havest gear, I think.

I would’ve loved seeing you play.

      • 105 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 13:14

*laughs* The beat of the keys…

Hahahahahaha…well, I’m trying not to confuse anymore. Notice how I post about the professors all the time? *spits back*

Warned you about what in particular?

I’m a samurai rat, mind you!!!

Really? It was fun, I think.

      • 106 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister February 26, 2015 at 21:39

What’s so funny about that..I bet you make a sweet sounding beat. I do! See? *types I Got Sunshine on a Cloudy Day*

        Mmmhmm…yes, professors, I do.

Oh you know! *covers it with dirt*

Ninja…Samurai…I don’t see a difference!! All the same, I think!

        Yes, really.

      • 107 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 13:05

The Temptations! How do you know them and not Glen Campbell? You must be really young.

There’s only one of us…with MPD.

        Don’t neither don’t!

Well, one has a funny looking hat.

      • 108 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 1, 2015 at 18:54

I know the song. I didn’t know the Temptations sang it, you see. Are they older than you? I wish you were old. I’d have plans for you if you were.

Yes, and you told me that that one person is you!

        I think you do…

Oh, so you have one of those hats, as well? You have many hats, Duke.

      • 109 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 12:41

        Oh…what plans exactly?

It is, yes. I don’t lie, see.

Well, I don’t have one of those hats. Don’t know wear to find one.

      • 110 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 2, 2015 at 21:57

*locked them up and threw the chest in a volcano* None. Zero.

        *looks behind her* Rrrriiigghhttt

Hmm? Seems someone should make you one. Maybe Susan knows how…or Debbie or another lady about this joint.

      • 111 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 13:15

You didn’t! Now I’m so curious. Can I have a hint, please?

        What you looking for?

        You don’t know?

      • 112 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 3, 2015 at 21:44

I think I’d have you over for dinner, probably.

Anyone who will also see you as a liar.

        Nope.

      • 113 Professor VJ Duke March 4, 2015 at 13:50

You mean…you won’t do that now?!

        Maybe…no one does!

Well, you don’t know, no one will. You’d be the one I came to for that sort of thing.

      • 114 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 4, 2015 at 14:37

Well, I would yes, but it would have to be for different reasons now, I think.

Just me, then. That’s okay. I’m used flying seperate from the flock, you know.

I’d be the one you’d come to for sewing? ! *spinning eyes* You’re in trouble then, for sure…

      • 115 Professor VJ Duke March 4, 2015 at 23:47

Oh, don’t be so complicated with things. We all know I’m older than you!

I do know. And I like that about you!

*laughs* Needles and thread are vexing.

      • 116 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 5, 2015 at 03:26

Yes, you’re older than the stars and meaner than the mountains…I know.

        Pfft! Of course

        *smiles* I can repair a few things…only a few.

      • 117 Professor VJ Duke March 5, 2015 at 12:44

No, no. Younger than the mountains. Yes, younger than the mountains.

        Like a shoe, for instance.

      • 118 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 5, 2015 at 20:34

Ahh! That’s right…I always get that mixed up.

Like a seam or a button, mostly

      • 119 Professor VJ Duke March 6, 2015 at 21:20

*laughing* Me too…who even came up with that stupid thing?

And there the things that need repaired most, I’d say.

      • 120 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister March 6, 2015 at 21:58

*sparkles* You, I bet. Mr. Smarty Pants Written to confuse the world.

Probably so, Duke. Maybe that’s why I know how.

      • 121 Professor VJ Duke March 9, 2015 at 00:10

*laughing* That is a good name for this rogue.

  18. 122 L. Marie February 23, 2015 at 13:47

A well deserved award!!! Congrats, Professor. I agree that the award would look better with a touch of red.
Do you perform often? Did you go to LAMM to gain more music and hobnob with other musicians? Do you like anchovies on your pizza?

    • 123 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:19

*nods* That’s the spirit. It needs something, and red is the perfect color.

I do, actually. Perform, write, record…all that sort of thing, see. Absolutely! That was why I went on the trip.

Oh….umm…no! I must say no. As a matter of fact, I don’t like anchovies at all! How about you?

      • 124 L. Marie February 24, 2015 at 14:20

I don’t usually get anchovies, but I’m not opposed to them, now that I’ve tasted them.

      • 125 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:05

Did you have the long white ones? *makes yucketh face*

  19. 126 PorterGirl February 23, 2015 at 13:32

Congratulations on your award! I like that it is plain so you can colour it in yourself. Very pleasing. It is always nice to learn more about the Professor, but why is it the more you tell us about yourself the less we seem to know? You are an enigma.
I like the speakers very much. And there’s that lovely furry carpet again. it’s a shame about the lethal shards of metal, though. A clarinet! They are so hard to play! I have a saxophone that refuses to let me play it nicely. The purple light is quite flattering.

    • 127 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:17

Aha! An enigma, still? That’s good. See, I think I’m an open book. I mean, what don’t you know, see?

I know! I’m working on clearing the metal. The carpet is tops. And very fuzzy.

I love my clarinet!!!!! Nice! What sort of sax do you have?

It is, I suppose. Still…the chap on stage looks like the shadow.

      • 128 PorterGirl February 24, 2015 at 09:00

An open book… but written in a never before discovered language!
A carpet with hidden danger. I like it.
It’s an alto. It might need a new reed.
        A dashing chap, certainly!

      • 129 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:57

*laughs* That’s real good! Real good. Must write that down…

An alto…very nice. You probably do… *laughs* Then you can learn the Sax Pack’s stuff.

        He looks immovable to me.

      • 130 PorterGirl February 24, 2015 at 17:20

Pleased that you like it! Use it as often as you choose. It suits you perfectly.
You are probably right. I shall pop along to the music shop in town, it’s such fun there.
He looks very happy on the stage.

      • 131 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:12

*bows* I’m forever in your debt, madam.

Do they know you well there? I bet they do!

He shrouded in mystery! He looks evil!!

      • 132 PorterGirl February 25, 2015 at 08:51

        My pleasure, as always.
They might know me a little bit! They let you play with all the stuff.
*laughs* I shall keep my eye on him, in that case!

      • 133 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 13:18

Now that’s an awesome music store. Playing all the stuff is tops, for sure. Make sure to play about 60 guitars when you go.

        Do! He’s a rogue.

      • 134 PorterGirl February 25, 2015 at 17:03

60 guitars! Goodness. My hands will be tired. I might have to go in twice.
Hurrah for a roguish rogue! Especially one bathed in a purple light.

      • 135 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 21:07

*laughs* That would definitely hurt the hands, I”m thinking.

Dadblameit. Why oh why couldn’t it have been red light?

      • 136 PorterGirl February 26, 2015 at 14:00

They might throw me out eventually!
        The colour of a warrior!

      • 137 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:58

I know. It was your fault, I bet!

      • 138 PorterGirl February 27, 2015 at 16:03

Goodness! But I fear you are right.

      • 139 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 19:44

It’d be so fun to bring you there…I’d take you to the sound booth, so you could mess around.

      • 140 PorterGirl February 27, 2015 at 20:30

That would be super! But of course I do have my own sound booth at the studio… you should come there!

      • 141 Professor VJ Duke February 28, 2015 at 23:46

I’d love to visit your studio! Am I invited for tea?

      • 142 PorterGirl March 1, 2015 at 14:52

Of course you are! Tea and muffins. Cherry, naturally

      • 143 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 12:35

Now that would be a great holiday.

      • 144 PorterGirl March 2, 2015 at 13:12

Yes it would. Terry would love it, too!

      • 145 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 19:05

        Does he claw?

      • 146 PorterGirl March 2, 2015 at 20:30

No, but he does paw somewhat. It is quite sweet.

      • 147 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 13:09

        What a lovable chap.

      • 148 PorterGirl March 3, 2015 at 14:56

        He certainly is!

      • 149 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 18:43

Give him a pat for me.

      • 150 PorterGirl March 3, 2015 at 18:56

        Certainly!

  20. 151 Susan P February 23, 2015 at 13:13

Oh dear. Congrats Prof. I think you should have a pet mountain lion. That would keep you awake on those long nights.

    • 152 Susan P February 23, 2015 at 17:52

      PS: congratulations. You done good.

      • 153 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:25

        Who, me?

      • 154 Susan P February 23, 2015 at 21:43

Well, I’m not talking to Amelia.

      • 155 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:47

Okay, out with it: how often do you have speaks with her?

      • 156 Susan P February 24, 2015 at 20:50

Never. Well, almost never. Actually no more than once a week. Unless it is necessary.

      • 157 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:18

What questions does she ask you?

      • 158 Susan P February 26, 2015 at 00:55

You wouldn’t be interested. It’s girl stuff, you know?

      • 159 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:56

*laughs* I’m interested in that sort of thing every other Monday at 2PM.

      • 160 Susan P February 28, 2015 at 01:13

Should I send you an invitation?

      • 161 Professor VJ Duke February 28, 2015 at 23:59

        Please do.

      • 162 Susan P March 1, 2015 at 00:24

You are invited to participate in nonsense and whirly gigs for the space of 1 hour and 3 seconds. Wait…you do that all of the time..

      • 163 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 12:31

        I do…and I tell you it’s a man’s pursuit!

      • 164 Susan P March 2, 2015 at 18:36

        Nuh uh

    • 165 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:14

Oh yeah! Wouldn’t that be awesome? But let’s consider: it might eat me, you know.

      • 166 Susan P February 23, 2015 at 21:33

It all depends on who gets the upper swing.

      • 167 Professor VJ Duke February 24, 2015 at 13:42

And I probably would, unless you trained the mountain lion.

      • 168 Susan P February 24, 2015 at 20:49

        Alas, I have not.

      • 169 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:17

Ask George to do it, please.

      • 170 Susan P February 26, 2015 at 00:57

George said you have to pluck him off of the window sill before he will do it.

      • 171 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:56

        Will he claw me?

      • 172 Susan P February 28, 2015 at 01:13

Only if you get near his claws.

  21. 173 Nimmi February 23, 2015 at 13:08

    Congratulations dear :)

    • 174 Professor VJ Duke February 23, 2015 at 21:14

Thank you, Nimmi! Wouldn’t you say purple is a girly color?

      • 175 Nimmi February 24, 2015 at 16:00

Hmmm, Firstly… You are a music guy/lover ;) Secondly… There is nothing like girl’s color or boy’s color only light color and dark color ;) What you say??? :P Lastly…. I like the age one ;) You are simply AWESOME :)

      • 176 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 00:09

Well, many thanks! I’m a great music lover. In truth, that’s true. So…you think that fellow on stage (surrounded by purple lights, mind you) do you suppose he doesn’t look girlish, then?

      • 177 Nimmi February 25, 2015 at 11:51

So I guess you compose too… No… Not really, I think he looks handsomely cool :) don’t you think so??? Look again :)

      • 178 Professor VJ Duke February 25, 2015 at 13:19

      • 181 Nimmi February 26, 2015 at 14:50

Hmm.. Well, If you have one then, bring it on ;) So, when can I get :)

      • 182 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 12:59

        Are you absolutely sure?

      • 183 Nimmi February 27, 2015 at 15:58

Yes, definitely sure :) I want to listen… Please

      • 184 Professor VJ Duke February 27, 2015 at 19:43

      • 191 Nimmi March 2, 2015 at 12:54

Warrior’s can be cute and sweet too :)

      • 192 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 19:01

        Not professorish ones!

      • 193 Nimmi March 2, 2015 at 19:04

They too are :) At least for me ;)

      • 194 Professor VJ Duke March 2, 2015 at 19:22

I should run before I blush, I think.

      • 195 Nimmi March 2, 2015 at 19:34

        Haha :D I’ll catch you ;)

      • 196 Professor VJ Duke March 3, 2015 at 12:59
