Which Sword Would You Choose?

Since today is national sword day, this professor has decided to show a bunch of swords. I can’t help it, really.

Well, PF, if you had to get a sword, which one would you pick?

Short Sword

Unknown-1

Scimitar

Katana

Broadsword

And, yes, everyone should have a sword. If you don’t think so, here are three good reasons:

  1. Imagine all the bugs you could swat away.
  2. Imagine how the mosquitoes would run away.
  3. Imagine how bears would suddenly respect you.

Great reasons all.

Now, which sword?

*considers my height and build and thinks carefully*
Well, I’m tall enough for a broadsword, but maybe not strong enough. So I’d have to go with the katana, until I built up enough strength to use a broadsword consistently, as well.
My answer: Both of those. ;-)

    • 2 Professor VJ Duke October 2, 2015 at 13:31

Good choices. The katana is smoother, faster, and sharper. That’s why I carry it, after all.

      • 3 erinkenobi2893 October 2, 2015 at 13:57

Yes indeed. Also, it doesn’t break easily.

  2. 4 The Lite Rider September 13, 2015 at 15:36

The broadsword! In honor of all my medieval fantasy epic stuff. But, then, I also have to say the katana as I love Japanese swordplay!

    • 5 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:43

Take both! Imagine you fighting with one in each hand. I would be scared, don’t you know!

      • 6 The Lite Rider September 16, 2015 at 22:26

Good imagination! And not far from the truth, assuming I could even lift the broadsword!

      • 7 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 13:06

Oh you could! We’d get you ready by training with some weights.

  3. 8 bardictale September 12, 2015 at 20:18

    Must I choose only one?

    • 9 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:40

Well, you must have one you prefer?

      • 10 bardictale September 15, 2015 at 22:29

Hmm. No, not really. Each sword has its own unique charm and use

      • 11 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 13:11

        *bangs head* But…but…you’re cheating!

      • 12 bardictale September 16, 2015 at 15:44

        Am not!

      • 13 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 12:57

        Am so so!

      • 14 bardictale September 17, 2015 at 20:56

So so? Is that, like, between “am too” and “am not”?

      • 15 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:42

*laughing* Now you’re picking on me! It’s an extra strong so!

      • 16 bardictale September 21, 2015 at 14:50

        If you say so *grins*

      • 17 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:23

        I said so, not you!

      • 18 bardictale September 24, 2015 at 06:42

Indeed. You have said so several times.

      • 19 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:34

        Humph noodles to you, Bard.

      • 20 bardictale September 24, 2015 at 16:42

        Do they taste good?

      • 21 Professor VJ Duke September 25, 2015 at 13:15

        *laughs* They’re very thick noodles.

      • 22 bardictale September 25, 2015 at 14:42

That doesn’t answer my question any, though it is useful information

      • 23 Professor VJ Duke September 26, 2015 at 00:09

But all thick noodles taste good!

      • 24 bardictale September 27, 2015 at 14:25

        Ah, well then. *grins*

      • 25 Professor VJ Duke September 27, 2015 at 19:11

Yes, yes. That’s where I was coming from.

  4. 26 InfiniteZip September 11, 2015 at 08:42

Anything that would cut a crusty loaf of bread would do. See, bugs are my friends….especially bees and bears are lazy…but I do like bread….

    • 27 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:39

      You mean you like wasps?!

      • 28 InfiniteZip September 11, 2015 at 13:05

No, not those horrid thugs….they have tiny katana like mouths hat sting….I like honey bees and bumbling bees๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

      • 29 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:03

They are sweet. If a bit overweight, you must admit.

      • 30 InfiniteZip September 12, 2015 at 10:42

That’s cause they eat too much sweets….chubby bees…but they still fly quite fast. I wish I could fly but it seems my broom has become quite tattered with all the cleaning. Castles take a lot to maintain you know.

      • 31 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:37

You fly with a broom? Interesting. Does that make you a wizard, Zippy?

      • 32 InfiniteZip September 15, 2015 at 08:52

Only when the mop is dirty…I thought wizards were boys on a basketball team?

      • 33 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:56

*laughs* I had no idea… It’s possible, for sure. You tell me.

  5. 34 Simply Skeptical September 11, 2015 at 00:17

The short sword would best suit me. :-)

    • 35 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:39

I think you would love it!

  6. 36 John W. Howell September 10, 2015 at 20:02

Katana if you are not interested in swatting insects.

    • 37 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:38

Rats. You don’t think it would swat bees well?

      • 38 John W. Howell September 11, 2015 at 13:05

Need a broadsword for bees. Katana is too thin.

      • 39 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:03

*snaps fingers* Rats! But you do have a point.

      • 40 John W. Howell September 11, 2015 at 20:39

All that swishing while missing might get someone hurt. (not mentioning any names but the initials are Professor VJ Duke)

      • 41 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:31

*laughs* You should know, I’ve never hit myself with a sword! Now there!

      • 42 John W. Howell September 15, 2015 at 00:50

        How about those behind you?

      • 43 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:50

Well…maybe once! But that was long ago! Before I was potty trained.

      • 44 John W. Howell September 16, 2015 at 12:56

        *Laugh out loud*

      • 45 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 13:13

Yes, see? It’s not that serious if it happens.

      • 46 John W. Howell September 16, 2015 at 19:13

        Ask them.

      • 47 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 13:01

They might tell a different tale on the matter.

      • 48 John W. Howell September 17, 2015 at 17:06

Especially after they comeโ€‹ back from the hospital.

      • 49 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:32

        Unless there’s brain damage.

      • 50 John W. Howell September 20, 2015 at 03:27

Ah yes. The old, “Who am I?” trick.

      • 51 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:12

        Yes, yes! It might work.

      • 52 John W. Howell September 23, 2015 at 20:49

        It might.

      • 53 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:30

        You don’t sound sure.

      • 54 John W. Howell September 24, 2015 at 12:52

I think I lost my thought.

      • 55 Professor VJ Duke September 25, 2015 at 13:03

That happens to me all the time. (Really happens to Steeler fans, I hear.)

      • 56 John W. Howell September 25, 2015 at 17:08

        Ha ha ha

      • 57 Professor VJ Duke September 26, 2015 at 00:13

        *laughs too*

      • 58 John W. Howell September 26, 2015 at 01:02

        *keeps laughing*

      • 59 Professor VJ Duke September 27, 2015 at 18:51

*checks score* Pats are doing good!

      • 60 John W. Howell September 27, 2015 at 22:13

        Yes, I’m sure.

      • 61 Professor VJ Duke September 28, 2015 at 20:17

I would dance, but I don’t do that sort of thing.

      • 62 John W. Howell September 28, 2015 at 21:35

        Fancy footwork though

      • 63 Professor VJ Duke September 29, 2015 at 12:32

Yes, I do do that. maybe I do dance a bit.

      • 64 John W. Howell September 29, 2015 at 12:51

        Does look like it.

      • 65 Professor VJ Duke September 29, 2015 at 21:35

Rats and a Heifer. You trapped me.

      • 66 John W. Howell September 29, 2015 at 22:23

        Like the aforementioned rat.

      • 67 Professor VJ Duke September 30, 2015 at 12:44

        *laughs* Humph.

      • 68 John W. Howell September 30, 2015 at 13:03

        Ha ha ha. Humph indeed.

      • 69 Professor VJ Duke September 30, 2015 at 17:51

        A few indeeds even.

      • 70 John W. Howell September 30, 2015 at 19:45

I’ll see your indeed and raise you a quite.

      • 71 Professor VJ Duke October 1, 2015 at 12:37

        That is so brilliant!

      • 72 John W. Howell October 1, 2015 at 13:04

        :-)

  7. 73 Susan P September 10, 2015 at 19:36

Definitely the Katana. Because it is pretty, you know? I can just see me slice whole pears in one swatch.

    • 74 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:38

Pretty? It’s not pretty! Imagine some blood on it!

      • 75 Susan P September 12, 2015 at 14:45

        But, pears don’t have blood.

      • 76 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:39

Oh. True. But they have pear juice! And that has to count, since you’re murdering pears.

      • 77 Susan P September 15, 2015 at 14:01

        And bananas.

      • 78 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 13:05

        Bananas are bloodless.

      • 79 Susan P September 17, 2015 at 14:13

You’ve never seen the red ones.

      • 80 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:27

Really? Now that is an interest.

      • 81 Susan P September 20, 2015 at 16:28

        http://falsebluff.blogspot.com/2014/12/red-bananas.html

      • 82 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:20

        Wow!! I want bunches!

      • 83 Susan P September 23, 2015 at 21:08

        What’s stopping you?

      • 84 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:31

I’ve never seen them in the store.

      • 85 Susan P September 24, 2015 at 15:47

You need to find a different story, me buck-o.

      • 86 Professor VJ Duke September 25, 2015 at 13:11

*laughs* Cool name. Umm….I don’t know where to get them!

  8. 87 Debbie September 10, 2015 at 17:24

Oooh, please let me have the Broadsword! That looks so warrior-like, and I’m pretty sure I could inflict a world of pain on the bad guys with it. Gee, I can almost see me hacking a snake right in two! Much better than a nasty old hoe, you know. But I really like the Scimitar as well. It looks very Persian. Why, with a good steed and a sharp Scimitar, I’d be fearless, rather like the Professor! And since I just had a birthday, you’ve got plenty of time to ship me one or the other (or BOTH!) for Christmas!!

    • 88 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:37

*laughing* Both the scimitar and the broadsword?! Good choices, I say! Now, but if you had to pick just one…which would it be? To be honest, the scimitar temps me… Now, hacking the snake in two! A hoe is a fearful weapon in your hands!

  9. 89 amandalyle1986 September 10, 2015 at 17:19

The short one! The big ones scare me! ๐Ÿ˜

    • 90 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:35

The katana isn’t scary! The short one. That’s what the Greek warriors used! I always thought you might be a Greek soldier, you know.

      • 91 amandalyle1986 September 11, 2015 at 14:38

Haha! Nope. Not even close… I’ve never even held a sword before… Well, excluding plastic ones, that is!

      • 92 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:08

You never held a sword? You poor thing. I’ll send you a whole supply. But you must practice with them once a day.

  10. 93 karengadient September 10, 2015 at 16:12

Katana, all the way. I’ve honestly watched ‘Kill Bill’ far too many times.

    • 94 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:34

Haha! *fist thingy* Nice. Would you wear it on your back or at your side?

      • 95 karengadient September 11, 2015 at 16:35

At my side, at the waist, ready to draw!

      • 96 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:12

        Left or right side?

      • 97 karengadient September 11, 2015 at 20:21

        Left, of course.

      • 98 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:28

See, I’d put mine on the right. But since I’m left-handed I like things on my left side. Alas, that’s why I never get along with swords. Must go on the back!

  11. 99 Haylee September 10, 2015 at 16:07

As much as I’d love a katana (I did have a katana, but I didn’t get custody after a parting of ways) I think I’m too short to wield one. So in going with a couple of Sai swords – like Elektra’s, although I’m not a fan. I’d like to think I can swoop in amongst a flurry of Olympic gymnast worthy moves, and be off before the damage is noticed. Only in some parallel universe where I’m fighting off zombies of course!

    • 100 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:33

*laughing* Of course! How about the short sword then? Or a lightsaber? Those would be cool, you must admit. Now…who stole your katana? That is just horrible!

      • 101 Haylee September 11, 2015 at 14:46

To be fair, it was theirs to steal… But of always liked it and quite fancied myself as a mini samurai :) A short sword could work, but I’d want it to look elegant – maybe one like Needle. You’ll have to watch GoT to know what that is ;)

      • 102 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:09

Needle…is that a super duper cool sword that I should have? You should get it for me…and I’ll give you a can of cashews. I think that’s fair.

      • 103 Haylee September 11, 2015 at 21:05

It’s an incredibly cool bit of kit, worthy of much more than a can of cashews! Perhaps a can with a side of raisins. I like to get my raisin fix.

      • 104 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:33

Raisins are good but doesn’t it bother you they’re petrified plums?

      • 105 Haylee September 15, 2015 at 06:12

Now you’ve got me doing research at 6am!! I think I may be safe…but a little fear is always good for the soul. And yes, I think everything has feelings, even inanimate objects (going by the logic that plastic comes from fossil fuels so my water bottle is part dinosaur…)

      • 106 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:56

*laughs* Your water bottle is part dinosaur? Give it here! I want a water bottle dinosaur! Now, do you suppose a dead leaf has feelings? I bet so.

      • 107 Haylee September 16, 2015 at 14:42

Of course! I do tend to apologise if I stand on them. But crunching them is so much fun! :)

      • 108 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 12:55

*laughing lots* Which is wicked of you, you know.

      • 109 Haylee September 17, 2015 at 14:43

        Always ;)

      • 110 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:29

You even admit it! *bangs head on desk with pillows*

      • 111 Haylee September 20, 2015 at 07:27

Oh I’m 100% lovely and only a smidgen wicked – everyone has to have an edge! But you have a pillow desk? I’d never get any work done in such a comfy environment.

      • 112 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:14

I’m the opposite! All wicked and a tiny bit of … I don’t even think there’s a bit of sweetness, really. *laughs* I only put a pillow there when I’m about to bang my head!

      • 113 Haylee September 23, 2015 at 19:29

With all the cherry suckers you consume, I can’t believe there isn’t a tiny corner of sweet in there!

      • 114 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:28

I know, right?! I’m a wonder in the world of sweets, for sure.

  12. 115 unjellanera September 10, 2015 at 16:02

Katana it is!! Killing with style.

    • 116 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:33

Yeah! Would you strap it to your back?

      • 117 unjellanera September 11, 2015 at 13:31

Yup! Better a katana to be at my back than friend stabbing it. Hahahaha at least I’m ready haha

      • 118 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:06

*laughs* Yes, that’s it exactly! Would you take a double edged katana? I hear bears are scared of those.

      • 119 unjellanera September 12, 2015 at 06:45

I love bears. I wanna hug ’em hahah

      • 120 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:35

Even the ones with claws the size of elephants?

      • 121 unjellanera September 15, 2015 at 01:21

Yes! Haha cause they look too cute!

      • 122 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:53

Madam, bears are not cute! Only cherry suckers are, right before you eat them.

      • 123 unjellanera September 16, 2015 at 13:04

Hahaha I just think they’re cute.

      • 124 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 13:15

        Even if they growl?

      • 125 unjellanera September 16, 2015 at 14:28

        Hahahaha yes !!

      • 126 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 12:55

What?! No, no. You’re just pulling the professors leg.

      • 127 unjellanera September 17, 2015 at 14:34

        Hehe sorry!

      • 128 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:28

Yes, now I must glue it back on.

  13. 129 E. September 10, 2015 at 15:52

Karana or short sword for me. Plus a dagger! There’s no such thing as too much respect from bears you know

    • 130 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:32

Nice picks, E! You mean bears will never respect me? I might pout, the sudden.

      • 131 E. September 11, 2015 at 15:20

        Don’t pout, arm yourself!

      • 132 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:09

You’re right! What am I doing? We can fight the bear together then.

  14. 133 Lady Dunamis September 10, 2015 at 15:33

The scimitar is a pretty sexy piece of steel but if I wanted to be taken seriously as a warrior, the broadmore might be more fitting. To be prepared I would take both and rent the katana during the summer.

    • 134 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:32

Now, I’m interested about renting the katana during the summer. Why is this?

      • 135 Lady Dunamis September 11, 2015 at 14:39

To try it out and see if it is worth keeping. Besides it sounds luxurious…lol

      • 136 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:09

*laughs too* It does! I think you’ll love it. But if you don’t, I’ll buy it for around 50 cents.

      • 137 Lady Dunamis September 11, 2015 at 23:25

Dude, whadaya think this is? eBay? Lol ๐Ÿ˜

      • 138 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:35

*laughing* A chap has to try! Either that or I’ll steal it!

  15. 139 Ms. Vee September 10, 2015 at 15:22

I’m clueless when it comes to swords, but I’ll take the short one!!!!๐Ÿ˜Š

    • 140 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:31

If I’m completely honest, my heart yearns for that one. I mean…it’s just cool, isn’t?!

      • 141 Ms. Vee September 11, 2015 at 12:33

Yes it really is. It looks manageable to me, if I ever had to use it!

      • 142 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:42

        Yes! And sharp, huh?

      • 143 Ms. Vee September 11, 2015 at 12:49

        Extremely sharp…razor edge!

      • 144 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:02

Perfect to shave with, I hear!

      • 145 Ms. Vee September 11, 2015 at 20:06

Good thing I won’t be using it to shave!

      • 146 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:13

You could always give it a go and let me know if it works well.

      • 147 Ms. Vee September 11, 2015 at 20:26

No thank you. I’m not up for the challenge!

      • 148 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:28

        *sticks tongue out*

      • 149 Ms. Vee September 14, 2015 at 23:33

        Sore loser! haha

      • 150 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:44

That’s what makes me spicy, you must admit.

      • 151 Ms. Vee September 14, 2015 at 23:49

        Ouch…yes indeed!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘”

      • 152 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:48

*bows and his hat falls off*

      • 153 Ms. Vee September 16, 2015 at 12:50

And a bunny comes hopping out!!!!๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿฐ

      • 154 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 13:13

        His name is Peach.

      • 155 Ms. Vee September 16, 2015 at 13:25

What an odd name for a bunny!

      • 156 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 12:54

I know. It makes him feel girly, don’t you know.

      • 157 Ms. Vee September 17, 2015 at 12:57

Yes it does, but that’s alright with me.

      • 158 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 13:09

Yes, I suppose, but you’re not a man bunny.

      • 159 Ms. Vee September 17, 2015 at 13:15

        ๐Ÿ˜ nope!!!

      • 160 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:19

        I am.

      • 161 Ms. Vee September 20, 2015 at 00:24

You win this round. I forgot what I said! Geez!!!!๐Ÿ˜Š

      • 162 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:45

        *laughing* I win always!

      • 163 Ms. Vee September 20, 2015 at 00:47

That’s because you don’t play fair!

      • 164 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:49

I’m like Jack Sparrow that way.

      • 165 Ms. Vee September 20, 2015 at 00:51

        You are a handful!!

      • 166 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:11

That’s what my analysts say, the buggers.

      • 167 Ms. Vee September 23, 2015 at 19:18

They seem to have dubbed you well!

      • 168 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:26

        Rats, I suppose.

      • 169 Ms. Vee September 24, 2015 at 12:31

        LOL! That’s good.

  16. 170 AmyRose๐ŸŒน September 10, 2015 at 14:57

I’m with Holly on this one, Prof. I’ll have the Katana. I wanna be like you! No! I take that back! I’m still mad at you fur making the bride cry. I almost furgot about that. *scowl* But I will still take the Katana. LP <3

    • 171 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:31

But…but…that was your fault, ’cause you won’t there to give her kisses when she started to cry. Or something like that. A katana! Good pick!

      • 172 AmyRose๐ŸŒน September 11, 2015 at 12:52

But I was not invited to the wedding, Prof. You were. How could I have given her kisses IF I was not invited? As for the Katana …. be on guard, Mame! ;)

      • 173 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:03

Mame?! Is that you? Now, now, I should’ve brought you along. You could’ve taken gorgeous photos.

      • 174 AmyRose๐ŸŒน September 11, 2015 at 20:38

Yes you certainly are correct I could have taken photos. Hence, I t’wasn’t there so not likely I did. And where is your memory lately these days? Hmmmm ??? When I wrote Mame I was referring to one of your posts YOU wrote. Gotcha! Peace. LP

      • 175 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:29

Oh no. I thought they called you Mame?

  17. 176 R Cawkwell September 10, 2015 at 14:54

Archers pike – short, narrow for getting through eye slits, and very deadly.

    • 177 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:30

*laughs* Oh my! Going through the eye slits? That’s so vicious of you, you know!

      • 178 R Cawkwell September 11, 2015 at 13:37

You say that like it’s a bad thing *laughs*

      • 179 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:06

It is! *shudders* Can you imagine the gore? *hides*

      • 180 R Cawkwell September 11, 2015 at 21:46

That’s why you leave the helmet on *grins* it’s a handy container for any incidental gore.

      • 181 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:35

*laughing* I love how you think, you know!!

  18. 182 Heartafire September 10, 2015 at 14:31

I’ve always wanted to be a Samurai so please, the Katana.

    • 183 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:29

Sweet! The Katana is the way to go. It’s so fun. What will you hack with it?

      • 184 Heartafire September 11, 2015 at 15:52

Got to have the Katana…I will don my Gi and make my move on Godzilla when he lets his guard down.

      • 185 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:10

Your Gi…now what is that, pray? But yes. We can take Godzilla together. I’ll bring tear gas.

      • 186 Heartafire September 11, 2015 at 20:55

I’m going to need you Professor, Godzilla is really mean. A gi is worn by students of the martial arts or in a pinch, sleep wear.

      • 187 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:33

Sleep wear pinch…I say, what are you saying? Still, if it’s worn by them. I might put one on. Maybe.

      • 188 Heartafire September 14, 2015 at 23:39

I will be needing a selfie of the professor in his gi.

      • 189 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:45

Well, okay. But what is a gi?!!!!

      • 190 Heartafire September 14, 2015 at 23:53

        a speedo.

      • 191 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:50

Not sure what that is either. I think you’re just making stuff up!

      • 192 Heartafire September 16, 2015 at 18:16

I do that, it’s hard to write and not make stuff up as you know. I should think in Mass. you’d be in close enough proximity to the Canadians to know all too much about Speedo’s. Maybe they only wear them on Miami Beach, laugh out loud. Back, you Canadians, I love you all.

      • 193 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 12:59

*laughing* Speedos. They sound like something one can go fast in!

      • 194 Heartafire September 17, 2015 at 19:52

Trust me, you don’t want a speedo. I’ve been pulling your leg but wouldn’t if you were wearing a speedo.

      • 195 Professor VJ Duke September 20, 2015 at 00:39

*laughing lots* You’re being wicked, aren’t you?

      • 196 Heartafire September 20, 2015 at 00:48

I’m terribly wicked and very ashamed…oh, look there goes a speedo.

      • 197 Professor VJ Duke September 23, 2015 at 19:10

*laughing lots and lots* A speedo! I think you made this up!!

      • 198 Heartafire September 24, 2015 at 02:42

I know a speedo when I see one! sometimes actually being worn rather than tossed in the nearby bushes.

      • 199 Professor VJ Duke September 24, 2015 at 12:32

        Is it a swim suit?

      • 200 Heartafire September 24, 2015 at 13:12

I know you’re browsing through the ebay now. don’t buy a used one.

      • 201 Professor VJ Duke September 25, 2015 at 13:06

        You think they might shatter?

      • 202 Heartafire September 25, 2015 at 13:45

        I got nothing…

      • 203 Professor VJ Duke September 26, 2015 at 00:06

        Yeah, me neither. Rats.

  19. 204 walt walker September 10, 2015 at 14:20

The scimitar is tempting. Very shiny and impressive, but looks like it would be best for hacking. The broadsword looks more versatile, and more suited to my fighting style. For combat I would choose the broadsword. For display over the mantle I would choose the scimitar. When can I pick them up?

    • 205 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:28

Well, I need five cherry suckers and the boomer. Now, you should fight with the scimitar! I think it would look good in your hand, you know.

  20. 206 L. Marie September 10, 2015 at 14:14

Katana. And I’d walk around, picking fights with people. “Are you lookin’ at me?” And then I’d give that person the eye, while slowly reaching to my left to draw my katana.

    • 207 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:28

*laughs* You’d be brilliant! Good pick, too. You’d have to make the blade red, though. Imagine how cool that’d be!

      • 208 L. Marie September 11, 2015 at 15:58

There are ways of making the blade red that aren’t very pleasant to other people. So I’ll just leave it at that. :-)

      • 209 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:11

        With tomatoes for one, see.

  21. 210 PorterGirl September 10, 2015 at 13:54

Can we only pick the one? I want them all. If I really, really must pick then… hmmm. It is impossible to choose. The scimitar looks rather spicy but a bit tricky to carry. I think maybe a broadsword, so I can be a knight. But then if I took the katana, you could train me in its usage.

    • 211 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:26

*laughs* I know! I want them all too. But the broadsword is a nice pick. That is actually the nicest broadsword I’ve found in a long time. We should each get one, a few horses, and steal a castle.

      • 212 PorterGirl September 11, 2015 at 12:33

That is an excellent idea, Professor! There are a few castles over here, we shall pick the one we most like the look of. Then take it to America so I can start being Queen *laughs*

      • 213 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:42

Yes, that’s it! Let’s do it. I want a big castle. With a drawbridge. And alligators in the moat. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

      • 214 PorterGirl September 11, 2015 at 13:20

It would be the very best! If alligators were not available, would you accept crocodiles?

      • 215 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 20:04

Well, I’m not sure what the difference is. So, yes!

      • 216 PorterGirl September 13, 2015 at 08:21

I think alligators have longer noses. But apart from that, they are pretty much the same. I want both, the sudden.

      • 217 Professor VJ Duke September 14, 2015 at 23:41

Yes! Let’s get them. I hope they’re horribly ugly and vile and vicious. Will be perfect.

      • 218 PorterGirl September 15, 2015 at 06:09

I am sure their mothers think they are very beautiful. But then, mothers tend to think such things.

      • 219 Professor VJ Duke September 16, 2015 at 12:54

Maybe their mothers are even frightened of them! I know I’d be, if I was a… Hmm. Let’s not even say that.

      • 220 PorterGirl September 16, 2015 at 20:34

        *laughing so much*

      • 221 Professor VJ Duke September 17, 2015 at 13:04

        *laughs too*

  22. 222 masgautsen September 10, 2015 at 13:50

I don’t know anything about swords, but I have noticed the Professor is very fond of the katana so i will go on that and pick a Katana for myself.

    • 223 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:25

Good pick, I say! You’ll love it. It’s a bit long, though. Just strap it to your back, you know?

      • 224 masgautsen September 11, 2015 at 12:29

Thank you for the tip. I’ll be sure to remember that.

      • 225 Professor VJ Duke September 11, 2015 at 12:40

And get one of the ninja face thingies!
