NAME: Dr. Lakritze Zauberer.

RESIDENCE: Dr. Zauberer lives in a castle which sits atop Fiend’s Peak and overlooks the Malevolent Gorge. It’s located in the wildernesses of Austria.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Dr. Zauberer is incredibly awkward. Unbelievably awkward. This really can’t be stressed enough. He’s very tall and skinny. His goatee is trimmed to perfection and his reddish-brown hair falls neatly to his shoulders.

ABOUT: Dr. Zauberer is a trouble maker. One of the worst in the land, Mr. Magi believes.

Dr. Zauberer can mimic anyone’s voice to perfection. This, coupled with rings which are capable of transforming him into an exact representation of anyone, makes him a deadly enemy.

Dr. Zauberer is more of a wicked person than an evil person. (A professorish distinction.) There are many evil characters in the PL. Dr. Zauberer tends to be more genuine. I’ve met him a few times.

Dr. Zauberer is best summed up like this: “His persuasion is unscrupulousness.”

And we really must leave it at that.

GREATEST FRIEND: Robespierre—a bobtail cat that lives in the dark castle, and assists Dr. Zauberer in his schemes. The cat is also commonly referred to as Bob, Beast, or Beelzebub.

GREATEST FOE: Mr. Magi—the man who is always trying to stop him.

DESCRIPTION IN THREE WORDS: Awkward, awkward, and awkward.

QUOTES: I meant…err…not to have to go into that. Excuse me…err…never mind. I have…err…ideas.

Isn’t that an awesome name? Do you know what it means? Do you speak German?

      • 3 Dianette May 2, 2014 at 13:59

        Yes… yes… and yes… :) I live in Austria, too… (as Dr. Zauberer)…
        I’m also… awkward… ;)
        P.S. Lakritze is something… black and sweat… ;) and Merlin… was a Zauberer…

      • 4 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 20:52

That’s so cool! (Don’t tell anyone I said this, but you guys got the best orchestra in the world! Awesome.) Oh, you need to teach me German now.

And I bet you’re not awkward at all! You know, I’d love to hear you pronounce “Zauberer”. Isn’t that tricky to say?

      • 5 Dianette May 2, 2014 at 21:07

        ;)… I was born in Romania… so… it’s pretty easy… ‘course… a bit… unconventional… but…
So… you have the Dr…. what more german ( words… )could /would you … learn?

        Yours, D.

      • 6 Professor VJ Duke May 2, 2014 at 21:11

That’s seriously neat, Dia. I’d love to visit Romania. Is it cool there?

Well…how would you say: The professor is wicked?

      • 7 Dianette May 3, 2014 at 19:51

        Romania is… like… you can/want … to see it… The point of view… is different… at least… I (like to) think so.
Der Professor ist böse/geil/gemein… What do you mean with wicked, actually?

      • 8 Professor VJ Duke May 5, 2014 at 12:45

Well, wicked just mean-like–if you know what I mean. Now I’m wondering how to pronounce it, Dia!

This chap…have he and I met before? He sounds so familiar to me. I can’t put my finger on it. I like that Mr. Magi is always trying to pursuade the sweet side of Dr. Zauberer.

    • 10 Professor VJ Duke November 25, 2013 at 18:38

Have you? It would be an interest. (Dr. Z is lost, though.)

      • 11 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 25, 2013 at 22:00

Maybe. It is of interest. I gathered.

      • 12 Professor VJ Duke November 25, 2013 at 23:19

Maybe you could help him, since you seem to run into him quite frequently.

      • 13 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 25, 2013 at 23:46

Yes, would be nice. I don’t know where I’d start.

      • 14 Professor VJ Duke November 26, 2013 at 13:59

Maybe it would be better not to start at all.

      • 15 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 26, 2013 at 14:34

        Where’s the joy in that?

      • 16 Professor VJ Duke November 26, 2013 at 17:53

Well, it could save you from disappointment.

      • 17 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 26, 2013 at 23:23

        Good point.

      • 18 Professor VJ Duke November 27, 2013 at 02:00

        The professor doesn’t have many.

      • 19 Audrey Dawn - Oldest Daughter Redheaded Sister November 27, 2013 at 03:21

Well this past point isn’t one after all.

      • 20 Professor VJ Duke November 27, 2013 at 14:00

Oh! The shame. The professor is hopeless.

  3. 21 sonya solomonovich July 31, 2013 at 02:06

Lol. Robespierre is a great name for a cat!

    • 22 Professor VJ Duke July 31, 2013 at 11:14

Thank you! It is rather humorous!

  4. 23 FictionFan July 29, 2013 at 14:28

 Very cunning! Let’s just hope that Dr Zauberer never finds out about the unfortunate electrocution incident… ;)

    • 24 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2013 at 14:36

That was mean. This professor wouldn’t hurt Bob for anything…purposefully, that is.

      • 25 FictionFan July 29, 2013 at 15:10

Women are mean. Girls on the other hand are sweet little things…shame I’m no longer one! ;)

      • 26 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2013 at 15:45

I think you’re half and half.

  5. 27 FictionFan July 29, 2013 at 14:00

Interesting that both the wicked doctor and our dear Professor should have a cat named Bob… I wonder what Freud would make of that?

    • 28 Professor VJ Duke July 29, 2013 at 14:09

This professor has merely ‘borrowed’ Bob for a little bit. Dr. Zauberer doesn’t even know I took him! How cunning is this professor!
